Hayop

Maliban kay Curameng, lahat ay mieyembro ng Union of the Masses for Democracy and Justice (UMDJ), isang grupong nasu-suporta kay Estrada.

At mas mahirap dahil wala akong magagawa. Buong gabi yun.

At may minamartilyo.

  5. well, what can i say? it’s as if we’re in a time warp. seems like we’ve gone back to the martial law era — people being abducted, detained, tortured and assasinated for political reasons. their message: IF YOU’RE NOT WITH US, THEN YOU’RE AGAINST US!

  6. vic vic

I think this is one subject we have to talk about “torture”. Isn’t the Philippines a signaturee to the U.N. convention against Torture for political or any reason? Correct me if I’m wrong, but torture as a mean of extracting testemonies, true or false is still common practice among the Police or Military authorities? If this true, then what are the opposition doing about it? The Media? Shall we just keep our silence, and pretend it’s not happening, until the day it comes upon us or our love ones?

  7. you are right, vic. I’m writing about it for malaya tomorrow.

  8. vic vic

And I just read in INQ 7 about senator Roxas raising the issue about the Shadow Government, but I would kindly ask the good senator, since he has the power and authority to do something about it, to either correct it, or bring this to the attention of the senate, if he is going to do these or just stop at just raising the issue and leave it at that.
They (senators and congressmen/women)are the people who were elected by the poeple to deal with these issues, but the way I see it, they just talk about them and forget them, and talk about them again when same happen again & again. thanks for doing something about it Ellen..

  9. You are right about mar roxas, vic. his press officer should stop issuing press releases that his principal does not believe in or not interested in talking about.

When the People’s Initiative was launched few months back, his office was the first one to issue a press release denouncing the initiative. We invited him (i’m editorial consultant of “Strictly Politics” hosted by Pia Hontiveros on ANC) to join the panel we have assembled for that topic. His office said he was not available. After the first statement, nothing was heared of him.

when i saw the news item today about him expressing alarm over human rights abuses, my reaction was, here we go again.

Sorry about mar roxas. he may not be corrupt but i find him spineless.

Bu then, let’s just let mar roxas be. he is not the issue here. it’s gloria arroyo.

I’m just wondering too what my classmate Pia Cayetano has to say. She’s been very quiet through all these scandals. It’s Allan Peter who’s been very vocal. I think another classmate is working in the palace, Gboy S.

I would just like to remind my good classmates that its for the good of the country you chose to become public servants.

I hope you wouldn’t sit idly by while our Philippines is mercilessly shredded by these pack of “wolves in sheep’s clothing”.

  11. vic vic

Ellen, agree with you that gloria arroyo and her administration is the issue and the only issue here. She is the BIG fish so to say. But how could you get to that “hungry shark” when all the people (the opposition, the senators, the congressmen/women, the military and police) are dancing protecting and even the supposedly “shark killer” among them suddenly have their spines removed for a “price”. And we, the small fries, nothing short of bloody uprising and throwing all our bodies all at once to that Shark are left to the impossible, only to be swallowed to satisfy all their lusting.. I’d rather see them attack..

  12. ystakei ystakei

    Hi, Ellen:

One thing that my friends and I can do here is translate your article into Japanese, and distribute it to the Japanese media, members of NGO’s critical of Japan’s ODA’s to corrupt governments, and to members of the Japanese Diet, especially those in charge of Philippine-Japan relationship even just to counter the publicity stunts of the lobby group hired by the Midget and being paid with blood money of the OFWs in particular, and reason for the exorbitant fees Filipinos here pay for their passports, etc., not to mention the money extorted by recruiters and the DoLE, which should have paid them instead for the sacrifices they do for their country, people and families.

Some 30 or 40 years ago, Japan embarked, too, in finding greener pastures for impoverished Japanese like those sent to far-away Brazil, but instead of fleecing them, the government even paid for their fares, and gave them stipends to be able to start right in the jungles of the Amazon. Now, the government are getting back a lot many of their children born and reared overseas to work in Japan.

In the case of the Philippines, even after more than 30 years, Filipinos are still being shooed away from their country and told to stay offshore. Worse is when this government will not even try to look for better jobs for Filipinos than domestic helping and/or hostessing in bars and clubs overseas, but even boast of jobs that soon will no longer be available to Filipinos as as a matter of fact because of new immigration laws being adopted by countries like the USA, Netherlands, Japan, etc. to stop human trafficking that the Midget’s government is engaged in.

    Vonjovi:

I’d rather admonish all concerned Filipinos to pray for divine intervention the way one or two of the Midget’s lackeys have been removed by natural causes—heart attack, etc.!!!

Sa isang banda, maybe, Filipinos need some more chastising before the Lord Above hear their prayers.

The longer the Midget stays, the more Filipinos get disgruntled and determined to remove not just her but all those crooks who have made life so miserable to Filipinos that a lot many of them would rather stay in prisons like those of Japan than go home!!! Ang tindi, di ba?

  14. Hi Ellen, hi Everybody,

The situation in the Philippines is becoming more alarming.

In a matter of 1 week, human rights abuses were committed – 1 journalist killed in Palawan, 5 Erap supporters abducted and tortured and 24 hours ago, another militant was murdered in Laguna.

And what have our justice department done about these? NOTHING…

What has our defence department done about the AFP abuse? NOTHING…

What have their president and dictator in waiting done about all these killings? NOTHING…

Our country is gearing – not towards Martial Law – but towards a law infinitely worse: ANARCHY.

Gloria, who is about to sell 100,000 Pinoy souls in exchange for tens more of millions of dollars to keep her government afloat, is being feted left right and center by a cotillon of supporters who see in her and servng her as the fulfillment of their ambitions – MONEY & POWER!

What has happened to the decent people in our land? Have they been exported too by this PUNGGOK who boasts of turning the Philippines into an enchanted kingdom of the wicked, by the wicked and for the wicked?

  15. Ellen,

As if the very alarming state of affairs is not enough, Secretary Nonong Cruz, the lawyer that he is keen to sign a DEFENCE (SOFA) treaty with Australia that will allow Australia to establish Australian military bases in the Philippines.

What is this guy doing? The SOFA is NOT merely a Visiting Forces Agreement. It is a foreign military bases establishment contract! Stupid Cruz doesn’t know what he is doing – bah! A lawyer he is alright but an idiotic, moronic lawyer!

The SOFA is usually an integral part of the overall military bases agreement that allows a foreign military forces to operate within the host country.

What an idiot that Avelino Cruz is! What kind of defence secretary is he? I feel like kicking him in the teeth!

Gloria is into human traficking while her secretary of national defence is going on the offensive willing to sell Philippine sovereignity to look good, feel good and seem good to foreign would-be masters.

To make matters infinitely worse, Angie Reyes of DENR is prepared to sign back to back contracts with Aussie mining companies to dig up the Philippines using Pinoys as slave labor.

What is this corrupt, inept, abusive government of Punggok think they are doing?

I’d rather we partitioned the Philippines NOW than sell it off piece by piece!

  16. luzviminda luzviminda

    Ellen,

Sabi ni Gabriel Claudio ng Malacañang, “We leave that to the military, which should be given every chance to explain the circumstances, basis and reasons for the arrest and detention of the five Estrada supporters.”

And it should not be in an executive session dahil may karapatan ang taong bayan na malaman ang tama at maling paraan ng pag-aresto!
THEY HAVE BECOME BARBARIC MONSTERS!!!!

  17. Cruz said there’s a process to be followed in the investigation of MIG-15 agents. Now they are talking of process! Did those agents think of process when they picked up those 5 without warrant of arrests and tortured them?

  18. Ellen,

Cruz said that? Well, maybe, he can recommend another fact-finding body chaired by the AFP Inspector General whose findings later on will not be released. Instead it will be buried in the depths of voluminous unsolved cases handled by Malacanang just like the Mayuga report!

Torture? Gloria is immitating Bush! Pretty soon, she will have a torture camp (pretty much like the Abu Ghandang prison camp) somewhere to punish anti-Gloria militants.

  19. schumey schumey

These are the “patriots” who continue dismantle our country. The very people who’s tasked to uphold the rule of law and protect our rights. This administration is indeed a gang of greedy and power-hungry lazy pigs. Content with selling off the country we so love than fight for every Filipino. They sell our citizens to be enslaved in foreign lands, and now sell our lands to to other countries. No wonder they want to lift foreign ownership of lands and business. And we all thought that we have freed ourselves from the bondage of slavery.

When we finally kick these scoundrels out of office, the new government should prosecute these maggots for treason and have the masses decide what punishment we should give them. Let’s forget about being humane because they don’t deserve to be called humans.

  20. Emilio_OFW Emilio_OFW

I admire the reasoning of both Ver Eustaquio and Dennis Evona in one of the Sunday afternoon Talk Show of ANC. Their abductions, their sufferings and everything is pointing to Nano and his henchmen.

There are still lots of military officers and men who value the rights of the citizenry and uphold the rule of law. The exceptions are the military officers close to the Nano and the Fat Guy. These are the traitors of the 80 million Filipinos.

Ruben Dionisio’s body is blue and black when got the chance to the media and relate his sufferings under the military custodianship. Raul Gonzales and Gabriel Claudio can not see the marks of torture! I don’t know what kind of eyes they have!

  21. Emilio,

I agree that there are lots and lots of military officers who value the rights of the citizenry.

Unfortunately, their number is offset by a few really bad ones.

Our nation has more than 80 million souls majority of whom, most likely, have a sense of moral values, yet it takes one midget – just one midget – who is immoral to bring down the country to her dishonorable size. This one, unique presidency grabbing punggok is so dishonorable and so putridly rotten that she contaminates the ones who could have been otherwise.

  22. Emilio_OFW Emilio_OFW

    Anna,

I agree with you 100%. The credibility of the military and police organization is at it’s lowest ebb since the martial law years. They are now the hoodlums in military uniforms with the stars, the flowers and the diamonds on their shoulders!

Principled military officers who are not in the loop are living their lives in modest means. I do hope that they will hold to their principles and will not sell their souls to the devil!

Nano’s virus has destroyed the moral fiber of the Filipino’s value and I do hope and pray (really praying hard) that this must end soon!

  23. E-mail from marcelino Francisco:

    Salamat,

    Isang nagmamalasakit .
