Descendants of Alexander the Great

At the twice- a- month gathering of Carmen G. Nakpil’s friends at Havana restaurant last Wednesday, the favorite topic was Mike and Iggy Arroyo’s claim of kinship to St. Therese of Avila. One said it looks like claiming kinship with some historical figure has become a Macapagal-Arroyo trait. He recalled that Arroyo’s father, President Diosdado Macapagal claimed to be a descendant of Alexander the Great.pompeii_art_alexander_great.jpg

Macapagal’s claim of kinship with Alexander the Great is traced through Rajah Lakandula, who they claim is a Macapagal ancestor.

Not to be outdone, one said, “I’m a descendant of Adam and Eve. Who can dispute that?”

Another remarked: “If Gloria is a descendant of Alexander the Great, then Angelina Jolie is her great-great grandmother!” (Angelina Jolie played Alexander’s mother in a movie.)

How’s that for a fun dessert.

ha, ha, ha, ha!!!! baka nga totoo Ellen! Isipin nyo noong ipanganak si Jesus of Nazareth anong sabi sa Bible? : Gloria in Excelsis dei!!!! Ha, ha, ha,!!! Bunyeta!

  2. Goldenlion:

Sayang patay na si Poe. Now, I know why they did not want him to win. Matatabunan iyong mga nagmamagaling! Just think of a better Philippines under a high school drop-out.

Tama iyong isang commenter: We were all descended from Adam and Eve. In fact, we do our genealogy in church on that premise. Ang kaso mo meron ding kasunod. Kaninong anak ka ni Adam and Eve nanggaling?! Kay Cain, the first criminal, or the other children of Adam and Eve! Ako, definitely, hindi galing kay Cain!

Goldy, anong ibig sabihin ng PRANING?
Gusto ko yong taguri mong Da Bansot Code tungkol sa claiming affinity to Teresa D’Avila. Ngayon naman ay claiming affinity to Alexander the Great.

I don’t know what sickness it is the Arroyos have. They seem to have this tendency to fib and lie about everything and embellish things even when there is really no need to.

I can’t recall the medical term for it. This compulsion to fib, lie and embellish. But the Arroyos have taken it to a level never before seen in Philippine history. And Gloria has imbibed this virus. She has, in fact, nurtured, developed and mutated it to a stronger strain and has infected former upright men in her Cabinet.

It has long infected our Congressmen. In the Senate, there’s one definitely infected. She had long admitted she has the virus.

So how does one stop this mutant virus from spreading and infecting the whole nation like a plague?

Si GMA(GanidManlolokongArroyo) “nanggaling ang lahi” kay Alexander the Great? Hhmmm….palagay ko mas angkop kung kay Napoleon the Great…pandak din kasi yun eh… 😀

  11. Come to think of it, baka sabihin ni Mike Fatso at Gloria Bansot sila mismo si Adam and Eve! Heaven forbid! Ito na ang sukdulang kahibangan! Bye for now, guys!

  12. Spartan Spartan

  13. Dominique Dominique

Who knows, she might really claim kinship with Angelina Jolie. So Luli would be relative of Shiloh Nouvel!

    Ha! ha! Ha!

    Ms. Ellen,

  15. Dominique Dominique

Right!Arroyo should trace her lineage to Napoleon Bonaparte.

The Inquirer said after visiting several holy shrines,Mike Arroyo said he feels holy. This family is really off the wall.

  16. goldenlion goldenlion

Hmm……Alitaptap, praning means baliw! LOL……Hay, Philippines!, my Philippines!

  17. Goldenlion:

Sabi ko kay Emilio: “…in the other loop sabi ko nga baka one of these days, we’ll hear from the crook that she and her husband are in fact Adam and Eve, e di sakop na nila lahat pati si Jesus Christ, whose earthly mother was of the lineage of David!

Please if anyone got info on the whereabout of Mr. Ricardo Manapat of “FPJ is not a Filipino” propaganda by the National Archive office, kindly share it here. I want to get his “autograph”, he’s a very good “fiction writer”.

Like when Pacquiao won his last fight with Morales, on International TV he said…”sinuot ko nga ang jacket kong ito…ito din yung jacket kong suot during the SEAGames…”, anak ng patuka sa manok, mistulang taga-Mandaluyong Loob ang nagsasalita. 😛

  20. goldenlion goldenlion

I guess money and power makes a man crazy. We thought then she was praning……..until now meron pa rin siyang ganun style ng pagsasalita. Itong kabaliwan nina gloria and fatso man ay pinapatindi naman ng kanilang kasinungalingan. They can no longer control their lies, kasi isinumpa na sila ng tadhana. May St. Theresa and Alexander the Great save her!!!!

Praning is the street word for Paranoid.

Obviously me pagkasosyal ang nagcoin nitong term na to,making a colloquial out of a deep english term.

  23. I’m taking a break right now. Ellen, will email to you the addy of the agency in charge of the 80M-dollar grant. Bahala ka na to distribute. I understand that the grants are actually old grants that have been suspended until clarified and not granted because of protests from Filipinos and Japanese concerns. So, puede pa ring putulin kesa manakaw! Balik na ulit sa trabaho till I email you the addy later.

  24. To all,

Descendants ba kamo, more like descendants of the “SERPENT”.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they would commission a painting depicting them as “Adam and Eve”. If the Marcoses had “Malakas at Maganda”, definitely hindi pahuhuli yang dalawang yan.

  25. Re: “He recalled that Arroyo’s father, President Diosdado Macapagal claimed to be a descendant of Alexander the Great.”

Oh my goodness me! How on earth did Diosdado Macapagal trace his lineage to Alexander the Great? By pencil?

I’m confident before this whole Gloria Daya-rhea trip to Spain is over, we will hear her favorite butler, Mike Defensor announce that she was a direct decendant of Genghis Khan, that’s why she’s bansot!

  26. Anna, Diosdado Macapagal claims he is a descendant of Rajah Lakandula who is said to have traced his ancestry to Alexander the Great.

Click the highlighted portions of the posted article so you can see the published articles on it. Arroyo herself, when she went to Brunei mentioned about her having descended from Rajah Lakandula. The biography of Diosdado Macapagal traced his lineage to Alexander the Great.

  27. Thanks Ellen for the link.

Alam mo Ellen, kahapon may mga bisita ako na galing sa Pilipinas (French sila na involved sa orphanage humanitarian work sa Cebu) and we got into talking about Gloria and her family’s lineage to Saint Theresa of Avila including the pending “application” by the Arroyos for the beatification of two Arroyo grand aunts.

Napanganga na lang iyong mga tao. Hindi alam ang gagawin kung tatawa o i-congratulate ang Pilipinas o kung ano pa man, imagine if I tell them now that no less than Gloria’s father is a decendant of Alexander the Great, ay baka hindi na bumalik sa Pilipinas iyon dahil iisipin talagang “praning” ang Pinoy. Hahahahahah!

  29. Ellen:

I did my own genealogy, and I wonder where on earth are these people getting such information when most Philippine documents date back only to 1848 after the Claveria declaration regarding acquisition of Spanish surnames.

To get a complete record of my Mom’s genealogy, I did also researches in UK when I went there on a fellowship grant, and got information for my research dating back to the late 17th century. I actually met descendants of close relations of my great, great, great grandfather, and amazingly, I recognized the special features they shared with my Mother’s father unlike this Chinese descendants trying hard to be Spanish just because their other aunts or whatever have married into real Spanish desendants!

Frankly, all the records I found that dated back to 18th century were limited to the members of the Cabeza de Barangay, the organization for the natives that overlooked the affairs of the natives on behalf of or with the supervision of the local Spanish authorities. At least, I can say this about the organization of the natives in the Ilocos region where my mother’s family was based, and found most of my ancestors’ surnames in the said list like Rubio, La Cuesta, Arzadon, Bautista, Evangelista. Palafox, etc. My grandfather’s British surname did not appear there because the British ancestor was not a native of the area.

Dadong Macapagal must have invented his fiction in the same vein as the Da Vinci Code of Dan Brown in an attempt to look royalty that the daughter has lapped up. Bibilib pa ako sa kaniya kung sinabi ni Dadong na hindi siya ang tinutukoy niya kundi iyong mga dela Rosa family na mga mestiso based on their Spanish origin, not Macapagal no matter how he tries to connect himself with the Tagalog chieftain Lakandula.

Our church in fact was able to microfilm the rottening documents received from Spain, etc. for our genealogical research in exchange for copies to be given to the National Archives sometime in the 70’s. I have done researches there in fact when the National Archives was still at the National Library at Rizal Park, and that was before our church did the microfilming and after the UP Asian Studies Center did part of the job there between the late 50’s to the 60’s. Kaya mandaya man si Manapat ay mabibisto pa rin ang kabulastugan nila dahil may mga records not just in the Philippines but also in Utah.

In fact, I think someone informed about what I was posting in the egroups when Manapat insisted that the document he presented to the body trying to disqualify FPJ regarding the records available at our church’s genealogical vaults in Utah, and the FPJ group indeed was able to get record of it to disprove the allegations of Manapat and the fraud that he was committing and the tampering of documents left at the National Archives just to help the Bansot with her evil scheme. The rest in fact was history.

I just want to share this little information for the benefit of all concerned.

Tama si Spartan to get worried about the tampering of the documents at the National Archives.

  30. Ellen, All:

In my research on this guniguni gunialogy ni Macapagal and on Lakan Dula, I found out that the Spanish government granted some descendants of the Lakan somewhere in the Tagalog region named Kapulong that must have been hispanized to spell “Capulong,” which is the surname of the ex-ICJ judge, Romeo Capulong. As you know Romy is a convenor of the People’s Court that has charged the Bansot for various crimes against humanity, etc. Romy is also a target of assassination by hitmen hired by the people most likely to want to get rid of him for protecting the less fortunate and deprived Filipinos who are being tagged “Communists” even when they are not, but being pushed to be fugitives from the law by the likes of the exalted Secretary of In-Justice!

Macapagal can make such silly claims hanggat gusto niya, pero may naniniwala ba sa kaniya? I don’t!

Hi! Check Archbishop Lagdameo’s weblog at http://abplagdameo.blogspot.com/ Glueria and her minions clearly have twisted interpretation. Kala nila walang kopya ang CBCP of the Pope’s encyclical “Deus Caritas Est”. Huh!). In fact, a copy of which was given “to all the Bishops much earlier this year” accdg. to Archbishop Lagdameo.

  32. Spartan:

I understand that all ambassadors are being called home for a big meeting on the return of the Bansot to the Philippines. Babanatan siguro iyong mga Ambassadors sa Spain at Italy for her tour that proved to be a disaster. Sasabihin pihado na sumakit ang tiyan niya doon dahil sa totoo lang ay hindi pa siya magaling ng acute diarrhea niya and she was having a relapse. But who is she kidding?

On the other hand, let us remember what happened to Evita Peron after her rainbow tour. Baka masahol pa ang mangyayari kay Bansot for telling a big fat lie, and for maligning the Pope and his priests in the Philippines!!!

Hopefully, everybody can now sing, “And now the end is near…and so she faces the final curtain!”

  33. Oh yes, before I forget! The sudden meeting of the ambassadors I am told is being announced as a meeting to discuss the 2007 election.

Apparently, the Bansot is banking on the cooperation of the ambassadors to control perhaps the votes of the OFWs, and make sure her lapdogs will get the majority of the votes by hook or by crook.

Kaya mga OFWs with Philippine passports and those who have registered as dual citizens, bantayan ninyong mabuti ang mga boto ninyo.

  34. Ellen:

I don’t believe this crap about Lakan Dula being aware of Alexander the Great! Ito ngang mga pilipino ngayon kahit na nga may Internet and all, hindi nga nila alam kung sino ang mga lolo’t lola nila noon pang panahon nina Lakan Dula! Hibang talaga!

  35. OK, so Gloria’s ancestor is Alexander the Great (I’m getting hysterical here while typing this line) – I wonder how she’s going to inject that in her SONA… she probably quote from all these illustrious ancestors, St Theresa of Avila, Alexander the Great, Lakandula, the two Arroyo nuns whose beatification is pending… what next?

Anyway, her minions and barkers in Malacanang styling themselves as the new Goebbels (Hitler’s propaganda human machine who would bake lies, twist half truths and serve them as truths until the Germans choked) pestering the CBCP to sanction poor Bishop Iniguez after he filed an impeachment complaint recently.

Well, Bishop Lagdameo, politely but firmly put president Gloria bansot and her team of putrid crap retailers in their place. Please read on:

In response to your inquiry. The Tokyo demo we had in March is archived at

    http://www.arkibongbayan.org/2006-03March05-TokyoRally/tokyoralimarch5-2006.htm

Filipinos who want to join the rally want us to do it again. This time we are likely to get people in thousands from all over Japan. We’re thinking of timing it on time for the SONA. It is the only way we can help Filipinos to vent their anger against the abuses being committed by the criminally inclined who has yet to prove her innocence in the cheating in the last presidential election so that no matter how much she tries to keep her post by killing all those who try to question her legitimacy, she will remain as the most questionable president with the most unstable reign in Philippine political history, and remembered for being a pathological liar and a fraud!

  37. vic vic

The farthest I can trace my lineage is just up to both set of my grandparents. I may have during my innocent years been told by my grandmas stories, about their own grandmas and pas, but during that time I couldn’t care less. All I knew, both my grandmothers were the sweetest creatures God ever created. Poor as they were, they always made sure we grandchildren were all “full” before they take take their first bite. Now, do I want to know more about my ancestry?? NO and A Big No.. I’d rather leave them all at peace…forevermore..

  38. Out of topic, but we are now collecting signatures for the petition on the Filipino-Canadian teen-ager killed by the Canadian police. Did you know about it, Vic? Please visit my blog. I have posted it there. Just click my name here.

  39. Vic,

Japan’s P.M. Koizumi went to Canada, and he is scheduled to visit Graceland with Dubya!

Did he make the news there? Itong si ‘Nano hanggang Inquirer, etc. lang. May news blackout pa kahapon!

  40. vic vic

    Yuko,
PM Koizumi and our PM talked mostly about the Kyoto Protocol and your PM is very serious about reducing the greenhousegas emessions but our PM made it clear that de does not think Canada can reach the target for reduction. As of 2003 Japan is only 20% higher to the target and only l3 above l990 level while Canda still 32% and 26 above l990. They both agreed the commerce between their countries is relatively free of irritants and wish your PM the best as he will step down as PM in Sept.
As for the matter of Reodica’s Inquest, I tried to post it in your Blog, but I still have trouble loging in. I hope Ellen won’t mind.

The Coroner’s Inquest adjourned it’s hearing for the summer and will resume on Sept. 11. We follow the inquest closely, because there were so many unanswered question the SIU can not provide. The SIU is more often biased toward the police officers, especially if they can find some conflicting testimonies from witnesses. We will hear their side of the story when the inquest resume. The last witness was the subject officer, who insisted that Jeffrey swung at him and his partner with a knife. So far the only witnesses who swear on seeing the knife were the two officers involved in the case. All the rest were not sure. The knife was Jeffrey’s, one of his friends already admitted, but the question is: the use of lethal force necessary at the circumtances??
Just a note though. The inquest is a “no-blame” enquiry. The purpose it was called is to find out why such should happened and why; the racism issue had already been raised by lawyers for the Family and other parties to the inquest and the Police Officer defence today was that he too is a Full Status Native (Native Indian).
Also the Reodica’s Family already filed a 5.4 million dollars lawsuit for violation of Jeffrey’s constitutional rights.
Depending on the Coroner’s Report, the Lawyers for Coalition for
Social Justice and the Family already asking the Ontario Ombudsman to Investigate the conduct of the officers. The most we can hope is the Internal Probe of the Police Officers Conduct and the Successful outcome of the civil case. And the recommendations and tightening of the rules of engagements for UNDERCOVER Police Officers and also uniform police officer that will result from the Coroner’s Inquest. So far, we never have any such probem with our very well-trained Emergency Task Force, which most of the time resolve its case without resorting to the use of force and only when necessary.
Thanks to all of you for your concern to the Reodeca’s Family. It is an experience, we never want to happen to anyone be our countrymen, or strangers. Thanks..

  43. If you guys are looking for a good ancestry filer, you may download a program being freely distributed by our church at the http://www.familysearch.org and you may try to use the service there for getting microfilm copies of records of birth, death, etc. in the Philippines.

We do our genealogy for a spiritual reason so there is no guni-guni there. It is genuine genealogy, not gunialogy like those of the Macapagals and the Arroyos of the Philippines.

BTW, Ellen, did Macapagal mention that he was descended from the man who earned his provincemates the unpalatable “Dugong Aso”?

  44. Vic:

Thanks for the info. My group and other members of the newly created Coalition of Filipino Organizations on Philippine Concern has launched the sign campaign here in Japan, and we are actually having a meeting on this three weeks from now.

Yes, you are right, do the policemen have to use their guns to quell such unruly group if indeed these kids were unruly? On the other hand, why did the boy carry a deadly weapon? Over here that is enough to get a prison term because our criminal laws are indeed for preserving life. On the other hand, policemen over here are relieved of their positions when they are involved in such kind of killing so that the police can do a thorough and objective investigation usually by another department in the police, for whether they are justified or not, a precious life has been taken away. This is actually why I am in this cause now. Worse is if indeed there has been racial discrimination involved here.

BTW, I did not join the case on the spoon because I had an errie feeling about it, and I was right.

So that’s where she got her lying streak. It’s her father’s genes. Alexander the Great and Lakandula daw?! More like they descended from ancestors named MAKAPAL.

  46. Phil Cruz Phil Cruz

    Karl,

I looked up your “pathological liar” terminology. Here’s some interesting item about this affliction.
    ——————————————————

    LIAR’S BRAINS ARE WIRED DIFFERENTLY

    PATHOLOGICAL LIAR(Definition):
:an individual who habitually tells lies so exaggerated or bizarre that they are suggestive of mental disorder
:a person who lies to the point of it being considered a disease or condition, an abnormally habitual liar
    ———————————————————–
A USC study has found the first proof of structural brain abnormalities in people who habitually lie, cheat and manipulate others.

The research – led by Yaling Yang and Adrian Raine, both of the USC College of Letters, Arts and Sciences – is published in the October issue of the British Journal of Psychiatry.

The subjects were taken from a sample of 108 volunteers pulled from Los Angeles’ temporary employment pool.

“Pathological liars can’t always tell truth from falsehood and contradict themselves in an interview. They are manipulative and they admit they prey on people. They are very brazen in terms of their manner, but very cool when talking about this.”

After they were categorized, the researchers used Magnetic Resonance Imaging to explore structural brain differences between the groups. The liars had significantly more “white matter” and slightly less “gray matter” than those they were measured against, Raine said.

More white matter – the wiring in the brain – may provide liars with the tools necessary to master the complex art of deceit, Raine said. But in normal people, it’s the gray matter – or the brain cells connected by the white matter – that helps keep the impulse to lie in check.

Pathological liars have a surplus of white matter, the study found, and a deficit of gray matter. That means they have more tools to lie coupled with fewer moral restraints than normal people, Raine said.

“They’ve got the equipment to lie, and they don’t have the disinhibition that the rest of us have in telling the big whoppers,” he said.

“When people make moral decisions, they are relying on the prefrontal cortex. When people ask normal people to make moral decisions, we see activation in the front of the brain,” he explained. “If these liars have a 14 percent reduction in gray matter, that means that they are less likely to care about moral issues or are less likely to be able to process moral issues. Having more gray matter would keep a check on these activities.”

    The Death of Bonifacio
    by Adrian Cristobal
    Date: 5/6/2003

On May 10, 1897, four days after his trial, Andres Bonifacio and his brother, Procopio, were fetched from their prison by soldiers led by Lazaro Macapagal. They were to be taken to Mt. Tala, where Macapagal would then open a letter of instruction given him by Gen. Mariano Noriel on what to do with his prisoners.

On the way to their destination, the brothers, sensing something tragic would befall them, asked Macapagal if they would be shot. Macapagal denied this. Andres, heavily wounded in his neck and arm, suggested then that Macapagal open the letter, as he was not sure that he could travel the whole distance.

As they neared Mt. Tala and with Mt. Buntis behind them, Macapagal finally opened the letter given him and read aloud the command of the Council of War to shoot the Bonifacio brothers.

    Procopio was shot first.

The wounded Andres allegedly ran to the woods, but was eventually found by Macapagal and his soldiers. Macapagal claimed that Bonifacio was shot, and then buried by his men.

Another eyewitness account, however, states that the Supremo was not shot. He was said to have been hacked to death with bolos and bayonets by Macapagal’s soldiers.

    Dear Ellen,

I could say that the ‘Tuasons’ in Panay are our relatives (mother side). My third and fourth degree cousins in Iloilo are Tuasons. But I strongly denounce Mike, Iggy, and GMA as my relatives dahil wala sa lahi namin ang mga sinungaling at political swindlers!

    Yun lang.

    Mabuhay ang mga makatotohanan.

    ystakei:

please take care. may your brave tribe increase by leaps and bounds.

  50. Zenzennai:

Hindi ko pa na-post ang petition kasi gusto muna namin makausap iyong mga parliamentarians na tutulong sa atin, at saka iyong pinakapinuno ng opposition dito sa Japan before we make the final draft.

I’ll post it in my blog, and you may sign up there, or copy the petition from there so you can ask people to sign it. Sasama ang mga group sa Kansai at Nagoya para makita nila dito na may puersa na tayo to work on the problems of Filipinos in Japan and even in the Philippines, and ask for better concessions and leverage na walang palpak.

Looking forward to working with you guys at nang magkita-kita na tayo. I am also initiating the formation of a more legitimate Nikkeijin group in Japan as I am interested in having a similar society that they have in the USA for Japanese-Americans for the sake of Filipino-Japanese not that I can benefit from this myself as I would like very much to complete my genealogy on my father’s Japanese origin but because it is necessary. My father’s Japanese ancestor was named “Waki” that has connection I am told with the Taira Clan edified in the famous book named “Heike Monogatari” (The Story of the Taira Clan).

I expect to live another 50 years as a matter of fact, and hope that I can accomplish the tasks that the Lord Above must have designated me to do in this life. Gambarimasho ne!

yuko, I still can’t log in your blog, so I’m posting further info onJeffreyCase. The Reodica Case happened two years ago and it started as a feud between two groups of youth. Few days before the incident there was a fight between between a group of “whites” and Filipino Youth and Jeffrey was not in that fight. A few days later the Filipino Youths decided to go back and in numbers and look for the “group” that they encountered days before to exact revenge. Seeing the numbers, the “whites” panicked when they were chased and so the neighborhood who witnessed the scruffles. The Police dispatcher, put a “priority call” because the report received were the parties have baseball bats and all sort of weapons. These two Officers were UNDERCOVER DRUG OFFICERS, but given the urgency of the call, and the location decided to respond themselves. It happened so fast, just between 2 minutes from the time of the respond to the shooting, that’s the reason why so many confussions. During the testemonies, many witnesses saw Jeffrey being held down by the officer to the ground, but was able to get off and turn to walk away. Some said that the officers failed to identified themselves. some heard them identified themselves. Jeffrey friends thought they were the parents of the “white” boys, the reason why he may have fought them. Because of these conflicting reports and testimonies that the Special Investigation Unit (it is a civilian and independent agency)concluded that the officer was justified in the Use of Force. We have had quite a few incidents of similar type in the past few years, but most “passed” the test of Lethal Use of Force and No Inquest were called, and Jeffrey’s is the only one going on at the moment. Yes, our society also believe that every life is as precious as any other. The reason why we are not scared or embarassed to bring everything out in the open if only the same mistake, we can avoid from ever happening again. Taxpayers here never complain of the millions of taxdollars spent on all kind of inquests and investigations to bring about corrective measures and find out if Racism, Bigotry, and Discrimination is still a scourge in our backyard. And are still is. But we are doing something about them.

I’ll go where you want me to go, dear Lord, Over mountain or plain or sea; I’ll say what you want me to say, dear Lord, I’ll be what you want me to be.”

And this is my testimony that I would like to share with all.

Salamat, Zenzennai. Aasahan ko ang tulong mo!

I share your feelings and sentiments for Ellen.

I do translation and interpretation in Japanese, English, Tagalog, Ilocano, French and Spanish.

  56. Vic,

You have to create an account to ba able to login is Yuko’s blog. Try mo muna then give a feedback.

    Yuko,

I heard about that “rumor”, but I cannot confirm it.

  57. I have difficulty understanding this mentality of the Bansot dancing like monkey signing agreements with former foreign colonizers of the Philippines and being proud that the Philippines had been once colonized and the Filipinos enslaved by them!

On the other hand, it shows how the Philippines must have been conquered without much resistance from the natives in the first place.

Members of the Senate like Drilon, Pimentel, et al should make sure the treaties, etc. the Bansot is signing are not something like some “Deed of Sales” of the Philippines to these former colonizers like Spain!

  58. Peacer101, thanks for the link to Archbishop Lagdameo’s site. It’s a slap in the face of GMA.

Phil, thanks for the piece on pathological liars. Describes GMA perfectly.

Zenzenai and Yuko, carry on with your crusade.Wish you lots of luck.

Also thanks for the genealogy site. My family is trying to trace our roots. I’ll check on it.

  59. Nelbar, thanks for retrieving Adrian Cristobal’s piece on Lazaro Macapagal.Illuminating. That’s the problem when you start raking up your past to promote yourself. Somehow some dirt gets dusted up.

    Missing students are NPAs: Palparan

    ————————————————–

    BY VICTOR REYES

THE top military commander in Central Luzon yesterday said the three activist-students who were reported abducted in Hagonoy, Bulacan Monday are members of the New People’s Army.

Maj. Gen. Jovito Palparan, commander of the Army’s 7th Infantry Division based in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija, however, said he has no information if soldiers were involved in the abduction as alleged by the League of Filipino Students.

“They are really NPAs. I have talked to a number of residents in the area and they claimed that they (students) are communist guerrillas,” Palparan said.

“Their disappearance is good for us but as to who abducted them, we don’t know. That’s good for us because they are NPAs. That is what the people (in the area) are saying. They have been dominating in the area long ago,” he added.

Look, who among the 5 Congressmen now being slapped with charges in court without due process, calls his party “Communist”? None!

At least, where I come from, we have a political party calling itself “Kyosan-to” (Communist Party), and none calls them as terrorists, nor hesitates to support and elect their candidates who can present better solutions to our problems than the other political parties.

And that, my dear friends, is what we call “Democracy,” a government FOR, OF, and BY the people, not a government for, of, and by a criminally inclined and her accomplices as the kind of government there is in the Philippines now!

  62. Ellen,

  63. Gloria Arroyo said: “My husband will remain in Spain and he will go the place of Sta. Teresa de Avila because that is where his family came from.”

Hanapin raw ang mga santong kamaganak.Pursigido talaga, ano?

  64. Dapat doon sa Tsina pumunta siya at pihadong may makikita siyang kamag-anak niya doon. Pero sa Avila! Nanang kopo!

  66. Ellen,

I hope they both stay there for good. Or maybe the pretender would like to take a trip to Macedonia and stay ther for good.

  68. This reminds me, I remember that when I was in the elementary school and reading Otley H. Beyer’s history of the Philippines, my teacher in history actually mentioned that Filipinos could claim descent from Alexander the Great because of his conquest of India where Beyer claimed the aborigines of the Philippines must have crossed over by some land bridges that connected the Philippines to Mainland Asia. Ang sabi ko na lang, !”Ang dami palang anak ni Alexander the Great!”

I think Dadong Macapagal learned that piece of O. H. Beyer’s theory, too, but for his own glory made it solely his to own! May toyo din ano?

  69. You are right, Yuko. That’s the basis of Macapagal’s claim.

  70. Related topic—Have I missed something about this Daya-Rhea trip where a member of the Bansot entourage alleged stole towels from some hotel where they were billeted? Golly, is this true? Bakit nagnakaw ng tuwalya? Hindi makabili ng tuwalya o talagang kleptomaniac?

How about the meeting with the King of Spain that the Bansot boasted at the Vatican? Why were there no pictures with the King and Queen of Spain? State visit daw! I doubt it.

The Midget for instance took 6 trips to Japan before election 2004, but only one of them was a State Visit although newspapers in Manila glorified such trips as state visits. Amazingly, the Bansot would even bragged about meeting the emperor every time she came here although I never saw her with the imperial couple on TV the next morning for our daily fill of their everyday activities except once during the State Visit that was in fact supposedly done by Estrada if not for the impeachment trial in 2000.

  71. Yuko,

Di ba may State Dinner pa daw? Anong nangyari sa state dinner?

Siguro, at the last minute sabi ni King Juan Carlos, she is not worth his time…

  72. O baka nainis siya dahil na-demote siya from His Majesty to His Royal Highness… Hehehe!

But seriously, I thought there was going to be a state dinner with His Majesty, King Juan Carlos of Spain hosting – according to a Philippine Star column signed by no less than Malacanang insider, Max Soliven! (Can’t link his column here coz Philstar doesn’t keep archives.)

So what happened to that dinner? Or perhaps, Malacanang went over the top – you know so excited and all that – when they announced that a “royal” was gonna be served our most unroyal couple…

  73. Emilio_OFW Emilio_OFW

    Anna,

Mayroon yatang football match iyong gabing dapat na state dinner?

  74. Emilio,

    Sigurado iyon.

Pero noong una ipinagmamalaki na may state dinner daw eh, di ba. Tapos, little by little nawala na sa press releases. Siguro ayaw ni Queen Sofia mag host.

Nakakahiya naman itong si Gloria. Maybe the King and Queen of Spain learned that Gloria twisted things after meeting with Pope Benedict so didn’t want that to happen to him so he decided not to go ahead with the dinner. Yikes!

  75. Anna:

Now, there is no state visit so no state dinner!!! Ang kapal talaga!

She did that a lot of times in Japan. Kung iyong King ng Jordan, bumalik sa Jordan on his way to USA when he learned about the 9/11 attacks. Itong walang kuwentang unano na ito, may gana pang mag-provoke ng break-up ng diplomatic between Japan and the Philippines e peke naman siya! She came here amidst the confusion (Sarado ang mga airport namin then) a day after the 9/11 attack e puede naman niyang i-postpone ang lakad niya.

Shameless hussy is a milder description! Better use “shameless hustler!”
