What does it mean, one thing, we are with you mayor binay and congrats, but please we should not relax, now that the CA has issued its TRO. We know the capabilities of gloria and her cabals.

prans, tama ka. the more gloria applies deceptive tactics in her actions, mas kailangang maging matunog si mayor binay. hindi natin alam, baka may nilulutong mas masarap ang kusinera ng malakanyang.

  3. (Ellen, Soleil can’t get through to your blog so with your permission, am posting her comments below:)

    Good news!!!!

Court of Appeals issues a TRO on Binay’s suspension. but the thing is, accdg to Atty Rene Saguisag, the military are getting ready for tomorrow’s supposed rally in many parts of MetroManila in particular inside the Makati-CBD…

well i dont knw why it will have to be a military issue, this is clearly just a police issue if they are concern for just the peace and order of the rallies that will be brewing. funny thing is that the EK has been bantering tht this is not a political issue but truth is, its all right under our very nose(s).

please lets all pray for a peaceful endeavour….hoping that the desperate minions of the bitch-witch will not resort to dirty tactics that will endanger the lives of innocent people whom they will be calling as “collateral damage” later on (this sickening phrase was blurted by gonggongzales before in a tv interview)….

    till then….

ps: still cant get through at ellen’s site….

    Illegitimacy still the core issue

    FRONTLINE

Everything that Gloria does against the opposition boomerangs on her and the core issue of her questioned legitimacy.

Take the case of her order to oust popularly elected Makati City Mayor Jejomar Binay and all his elected officials en masse, while putting in his stead an unelected Department of Interior and Local Government officer who has no right to sit in that office, even as a councilman. And this on the issue of alleged ghost employees.

What jeering does Gloria get, not just from the people of Makati but also of the Filipinos in Metro Manila, if not nationwide? What right does Gloria, a bogus President twice over, have to kick out legitimately elected officials on the claims of their having hired ghost employees when she herself cheated to win the presidency through her ghost voters?

Gloria is going to lose out in this fight even even if she does succeed, through her prostituting ways of getting the courts to rule in her favor, because there will definitely be a flare-up in the Makati area, with Binay’s supporters ready to do battle for a just cause, as any idiot can see that the Palace move was dripping with vendetta and against her political foes.

Why does she want to silence critics and do away with the political opposition, if not because it is they who refuse to toe the Malacañang line that she was legitimately elected and insist on bringing out the truth?

To this day, even as the evidence exists of her having staged a coup d’etat against then sitting President Joseph Estrada, Gloria continues to try and hide the truth. She has ordered her censors board to ban the biopic of Erap simply because the truth would be openly bared to all Filipinos — the truth of her having plotted against Erap in her greed to grab the presidency from him and her illegitimate status as President in 2001, as the biopic also shows her admitting she had been plotting to oust Erap as well as the lies spun by then Chief Justice Hilario Davide Jr., not to mention the Supreme Court (SC) justices’ active participation in the unconstitutional ouster of Erap, as there is also proof that the justices did him in, aware as they were that Erap had not resigned at all when they swore her in. To show this Erap biopic would cement the truth that definitely, Gloria was a bogus President who grabbed power unconstitutionally in 2001, and a doubly bogus President in 2004, with her ghost voters from the Comelec and the military and police ensuring her fraudulent win.

And she has the nerve to kick out Binay et al. on claims of a ghost employee payroll?

Or take the issue of the nursing exams leakage, where she moved to order a retake of the test. What was she greeted with, if not challenges from the nursing graduates, who jeered at her by saying that if they have to have a retake, so must Gloria have a retake of the 2004 polls. Again, the issue of her questioned legitimacy surfaces and resurfaces everytime.

Twice at least, the SC has upheld the power of the Senate to compel government officials to attend congressional hearings, the latest one of which is the ruling junking the Presidential Commission on Good Government’s claim that its officers and nominees cannot be called to testify before the Senate and that arrests and confinements are illegal.

Why are these rulings upholding the power and authority of the Senate being stressed, again and again, by the high court?

Simply this: The high court justices are neither blind nor unaware of the fact that Gloria has been defying the law and their unanimous rulings — especially in the case of her infamous gag rule, Executive Order 464, which forbids all officers and officials of the executive department from appearing before the Senate for congressional hearings. Despite the clear ruling of the SC that upheld the power of the Senate to summon and cite for contempt those who snub its hearings, Gloria circumvented the ruling by issuing another gag order to replace EO 464, with the Memorandum Circular 108. And if this is elevated to the high court, the same ruling will be reiterated by the SC.

And the SC certainly knows the real reason Gloria gags her officials. They know it is part of her cover-up of the many crimes she has committed against the Constitution and the Filipino people, as she must continue to cover up her illegitimacy, her cheating, lying and stealing ways. And perhaps, finally, the SC justices realize that they had created a monster in Gloria by discarding the Charter.

The court knows that she must be reined in as she continues to abuse the presidential powers and prostitutes all the democratic institutions — and all because she does not want the truth of her illegitimacy, her treachery, her greed for power and position her cheating and her gross plunder of the people’s money, to be bared.

  5. Yes, why do they have to call on the military to keep peace and order during the planned rally tomorrow? Bakit nag-declare na ba ng state of emergency si wannabe criminal? Nakakakulo ng dugo!

  6. From Rep. Roilo Golez:

With the TRO from the Court of Appeals,it shows our last line of defense, the judicial phalanx, is holding its ground against the barbarians pounding at the gates.

This follows the big victory the other day when the SC dismissed the PCGG petition ande confirmed the power of Congress to summon officials of the executive branch to legislative inquiries in aid of legislation

    .

  7. Ah! So is Gloria really going to send the military?

I was just thinking of that even before I posted Soleil’s comment – there’s a risk that she would send the military because of Binay’s military affiliation and showing it.

If Gloria does that, she’s going for an overkill, and it will be very, very stupid if she does that. Bad maneuver for Gloria but good one for Binay to capitalize on.

Binay should take that into consideration when he confronts Gloria’s cavalry. He is on the defensive but he’s on high ground.

  8. ipaglaban mo ipaglaban mo

TRO? I smell a rat with this. Hope, the legit makati mayor & company won’t be tricked by this. It’s a pathetic ploy by this bogus president to arrest him for other means like the illegal wear of military uniform. Court martial for that? Gimme a break… If their planning to make that a case against Binay, then, maybe they should think about arresting all the fatso’s in uniform because their creating a negative image of the military. Not that it’s been a positive one…

Time to get our voices heard. “Opportunity only knocks once”

  9. Yup, Mayor Binay and his supporters should not be too trusting but be wary. This TRO is nothing but a Trojan Horse. “Matira ang matibay,” sabi nga!

  10. Toney Cuevas Toney Cuevas

Bogus Gloria Arroyo is a loser on this one. People has finally ahead on fake Gloria and they got her number. Mayor Rambo Binay is just what the doctor ordered, a gift of the bogus Gloria. Fake Gloria finally slipped, and she’s going to pay dearly for it. It’s the beginning of the end for the dictatorial regime of illegal government of of illegitimate Gloria. Alelojah!

Anna..thank you so much….after trying for almost an hour, i got through but somtimes its get cut-off midway..even logging into yahoo seems an ordeal…maybe am being hacked as well. will go to the suggested site of yuko and emilio…i am using AVG but maybe its nt enough as well…although we have a firewall, better to be safe than sorry…
going back..every EK moves always goes back to them a thousandfold….if this is the turning point for every pinoy to have that ump to go to the streets and spill our disgust upfront (with or without firetrucks and cannons!!!)..then we will heed the call….for once, maybe Pinas will have a christmas that will be something worth celebrating for….everything has been ‘ka-plastikan’ anywhere in this country when it comes to social services. kung hindi ka magtaray, mag-alsa ng boses or ipakita mo na meron ka..di ka papansinin lalo na sa mga sangay ng gobyerno. although hindi naman lahat talaga and i really commend people i encounter upfront when they are good in their actions…pinapa-rinig ko pa sa katabi…maybe if every pinoy and also every citizen of the world will watch the movie PAY IT FORWARD…(without strings attached!!!)..then we will erase the likes of pandak bruha and bush!!!!

    Pwe!

  13. I wrote this in the previous post:

There are also some who said that seeing the determination of Binay to fight back and the support he is getting, Malacañang now wants to save face and is the one urging the CA to grant the TRO so they can get out of the mess in Makati that they have created.

I see this more as taking the heat off from the big rally that is being planned for tomorrow. iI was supposed to be showdown because Feraren said he would not allow the rally beyond Freedom Park.

In a way, the TRO prevented bloodshed that was feared in the course of the confrontation.

  14. Ellen,

Re: “There are also some who said that seeing the determination of Binay to fight back and the support he is getting, Malacañang now wants to save face…”

Typical of a bully! Gloria’s character as that of a bully speaks for itself.

To be called a bully isn’t at all flattering, wonder if Gloria knows this…

  15. E-mail from Ardy Cristobal:

Pidal at marami pang iba.

    Maraming Salamat Po,

    Ardy

  16. Anna:

You said it, but far from feeling shame and being embarrassed for being called a bully, judging from the messages posted by the Internet Brigaders headed by the daughter and even the Bansot herself, I guess, this is exactly what she wants—to be called a “Bully”!

  17. The CA was right to issue a TRO. Provisions of the Local Government have been violated in the administration’s haste to deal with Binay. The DILG has to enjoin both parties before renderig a preventive suspension. This means that Binay must face Brillante and present both their evidences. Due process was definitely not followed so a TRO was issued. Expect the administration to once again circumvent this decision and find another way to get to Binay.

This is a blackeye for the pandak. Another was the recent resolution of the SC against the PCGG. This however is being challenged by the Solicitor General. But why challenge if there’s nothing to hide? This would cast more doubt on the PCGG. The bansot must have dipped her dirtied hands into the PCGG purse. The SC voted 15-0 on this one.

CJ Panganiban also revealed that pressure on the justices have getting stronger a the day of reckoning for the PI is drawing near. Panganiban need not name names, we all know who he’s referring to. JDV was quick to point to the anti-PI groups, bobo talaga itong unggoy na ito.

  18. Soleil:

You were not the only one who could not access this blog. I could get into this blog in fact last night till morning, and then, Inquirer had stopped reporting on the Makati stalemate. But it was OK because it was early morning and I needed to get some sleep.

The adware I advised the Barkada to get works in fact to get to this blog again. It has nothing to do with this blog getting clogged unless of course the service in the Philippines is really that bad, for over here, it happens only when you are still on dial-up connection.

Presently, majority of us here in Japan now use fibros optics offered by NTT, and we get uninterrupted connection. Problem is the possibility of being hacked and sent viral mails or getting to websites that sends out those registries, etc that can be harmful. The adware or spyware I have recommended effectively do the trick to remove these adwares/spywares.

I am on monitor as I have volunteered to cooperate in an experiment to see the effectivity of new gadgets in compliance with the new Internet Laws of Japan.

You should get that adware by Lavasoft.

  19. I agree with Anna. Binay and Company should take all precautions versus the Bansot and her minions. Meanwhile, I, for one, pray that it’s going to be another liberation day tomorrow. Someone in another forum wrote about the landing of MacArthur on Leyte on that fateful day 61 years ago! It was October 20th.

  20. This should read: I could NOT get into this blog in fact last night till morning, and then, Inquirer had stopped reporting on the Makati stalemate. But it was OK because it was early morning and I needed to get some sleep.

  21. The Administration must be reading Max Soliven

mr. Soliven, who has the ear of Malacanang, today writes:

    http://www.philstar.com/philstar/NEWS200610192602.htm

If the DILG and the GMA Government don’t really have the goods on Makati Mayor Jejomar Binay – who “refuses” to be suspended – they’d better “whisper” to the Court of Appeals that it quickly resolve the issue and get Makati City defrosted from its present paralysis. Courts, alas, are like leviathans that move in slow motion and there are many “lawyer’s tricks” to delay or derail cases. Every abogado de campanilla has a lot of Whereas and Wherefores tucked in his or her old kit bag.

With Jojo Binay defiantly barricaded in his New City Hall, and newly-imposed “caretaker” OIC Rodolfo Feraren trying to get the business of Makati going again in his bunker in the Old City Hall, nothing can move in Makati. Like our traffic jams, Makati is gridlocked.

Interior and Local Government Secretary Ronnie Puno, no Shining Knight himself, must have convinced La Presidenta that Binay must be punished for his transgressions (the biggest transgression being that he opposes the President). This, from what I’ve been hearing, is the public perception.

Sure, Binay’s rusty armor – after 20 years of his lording it over Makati – may not be shiny either, but will Puno’s “man” Feraren be better? I don’t mean to scoff at him, or insult him, but the fact is that nobody I know, myself, included, ever heard of him. Yet, he’s being tasked to run one of the country’s richest and most pivotal cities – the virtual Financial Heart of the Philippines.

My unsolicited advice is that our government resolve the Makati Mess pronto – sooner rather than later. The spectacle of Jojo B. holed up in his mini-fortress, and an alternative City Hall attempting to conduct business – a difficult if not impossible proposition since almost every Makati employee and bureaucrat was appointed by Jojo Binay during his two decades of hegemony – demonstrates our political instability to the rest of the world.

And Voila, kumilos kaagad ang court of appeals.

  22. “And Voila, kumilos kaagad ang court of appeals.”

Heheh! I bet Max’s ‘alikabok’ will have a lot more of stories to tell…

  23. Chabeli Chabeli

Arriving in Manila today, it was straight to Mayor Binay’s Municipio in Makati. From tension to relief and joy! What a feeling!

    Malacañan 0; Binay 1. That’s only Round 1.

    It’s rest time for now…

  24. Diego K. Guerrero Diego K. Guerrero

Ampaw pala si DILG chief Ronnie Puno. Matapang at matindi si Mayor Binay dahil may katuwiran. The Court of Appeals saved Gloria Arroyo and her lapdogs’ asses from public outrage that may lead to her ouster.

  30. chi chi

Totally right you are Ellen. The TRO only delayed the bansot’s downfall. Sayang, nabahag ang buntot ng demonyang donya. Nagtatapang-tapangan, hindi rin pala kayang kumasa. Maluwag talaga ang turnilyo.

  31. Elvira Sahara Elvira Sahara

I agree with you, Ellen. This Makati incident is just a fair warning! Thank you by the way sa ginawa nila…It was a good wake up call to the Filipinos…Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!!!

  32. Told you, traydor ang ungas!

  33. Now is the time for Binay to call on his fellow lawyers to form a federation of bar associations that should be a force by itself just like our federation of bar associations in Japan that is the one consulted and given the task to study draft and recommend the kind of laws to be adopted to keep the peace and order in Japan. They should not leave such task to the bobos de la yuca or the sipsip boto!

Tuloy ang laban, Mayor Binay, All!

  34. Ellen:

Thanks for updating us on this issue of Binay. I bet nakatulong ang mga isinulat mo para magkalakas ng loob ang lahat na ipagtanggol ang karapatan ng taumbayan through Binay. Maganda ang article mo sa Malaya. Bigay na bigay.

    Ingat!!!

  35. pandawan pandawan

Hillblogger, ampaw is a rectangular or ball of sweet crispy rice. It is very delicious and looks solid but in reality when you bite it, it is crispy and soft and melts in your mouth. You can also crush it totally in your hand and the rice will crumble into pieces. If you use it as a metaphor to describe Puno then you will know what he is.

The trouble is Gloria is not ampaw and it will take a man or woman greater, immovable, and braver than Binay to unseat her. Whether one admits it or not Gloria is brave enough to bet all the marbles and anyone fighting her should also be brave enough to risk all the marbles plus more.

  36. Emilio_OFW Emilio_OFW

  37. Wrong Pandawan. There is nothing brave about the Bansot. There is a better word for her than brave. It is “manduduro.” Another apt description is traydor, and dugong aso!!! Cunning, yes, but shrewd, I doubt.

Yuck! Lahat daya!

Attaboy, Mayor Binay! You better file libel suits against these people for trying to destroy your reputation.

  40. In Tagalog, Pandawan, the word that best describes the action of the Bansot is “taray” which is different from “tapang” (bravery and/or courage). As Anna has stated, it is mere bullying.

  41. TongueInAnew TongueInAnew

Round 2 happening today? Why do I get this feeling the provocateurs will lose no time in stepping it up one notch higher? To coincide with Gloria’s pronouncement of an Abu Sayyaf bombing of Mega Mall by Saturday? Some dude is making sure Binay is history by weekend.

Malacañang’s war-room has shifted to Plan B. Remember what I said in a previous post? While we were drinking coffee in Pasay Coun. Onie Bayona’s office to “celebrate” Vice Mayor Tony Calixto’s some-hours-old TRO, Calixto got a call informing him he is again suspended because of another graft case.

The Ombudsbitch has just resurrected one case against Binay, and the lackeys in AFP are eager to send him to court martial for trying to keep warm using the Marine uniform. Or probably get sued by another jerk like Brillante again in order to get even.

It’s too early to celebrate, and definitely just as premature to be complacent and to let the guards down.

Tuloy ang laban! Walang kukurap!

    Sino unang kukurap?

  42. Pandawan,

    Thanks for the explanation.

Actually, after a while searching my memory, it occurred to me what an ampaw was – something to eat (although am still trying to picture what it looks like – but I know it, it will come back to me now that you say it’s sweet), but for the life of me, I couldn’t see Diego’s analogy at the time. So paper tiger it is… that’s a very good description.

  43. TongueInAnew:

Nobody is celebrating yet. In fact, we have not said we’re going home to celebrate. We’re on the watch still, you bet!

You’re right, too, on the provocateurs. Best thing is to have Senator Lim there at the rally today.

I know a lot many policemen in Manila and Makati, who are not from the military, still have respect for their former boss. He was in fact instrumental for instance in keeping the funeral of FPJ two years ago orderly despite the attempt by the provocateurs to cause chaos by throwing stones at the mourners during the funeral march along the rotunda at the end of Espana St.

Senator Lim should be there to keep the policemen from getting rowdy! Tuloy-tuloy na. For the kind of Philippines we dream of seeing, huwag nang lubayan!

  44. pandawan pandawan

Ystakei, more than “taray” mas gusto ko ang tapang upang ikapit ke Gloria.

In short, takotan lang. Still, it is different from “tapang” to mean bravery and/or courage. Nanduduro lang parang asong ulol!

  46. Sorry again, I keep encountering the word apog but I can’t place it. Is it a slang word?

  49. TongueInAnew TongueInAnew

Kundi ngayon, kailan? Napatay nga ba ng TRO ang tensiyon?

    O tuloy ang laban?

It’s about time the CA stepped in to avoid further deterioration and possible bloody confrontation between the two camps. It appears now that Malacanang and her lapdog Puno miscalculated and underestimated the courage and resolve of Mayor Binay and his supporters, maybe thinking that ejecting him from his turf will be just a walk in the park like Mayor Trinidad of Pasay City. He knew his rights and he fought back. Akala nila kaya nilang duruin at sindakin si Rambotito Binay.

Mayor Binay won an election, compared to the Usurper, who stole the presidency not once but twice and now illegally sitting in the throne of power. And being a bogus president, what right does she have to just suspend anybody, much more an elected official just to satisfy her whims? There’s nothing decent about her. She is a tin pot dictator. So who says that democracy still exist in the Philippines? Shame on her, that is if she has one.

Now, what will happen if they do not agree or respect the TRO? Malacanang and her cohorts are known violators, no respect and no qualms in disregarding court decisions. For sure they won’t stop harassing Binay and company. Maybe this time they already have some plans ready to be put into action. They started it and they want to see the end of it. It’s unacceptable that a mere Binay will put some snags into their plans. He should go.

First things first for Mayor Binay & company; Not to trust anybody from the camp of the bogus. Be always on the lookout for possible hints on their next moves. The enemies are like Hitler’s men, thieves, and criminals who in the dead of the night will come and knock you off of your senses. It’s only the first round and the way things are shaping up, more rounds are yet to come. So better be alert and be prepared at all times. And of course, the support of the people is a must, and may they have the patience, determination and resolve that you’ve shown to fight for what is right. May this will be the much needed spark that is long overdue to awaken the growing indifference and lack of concern of the people, unite and fight the oppressors till they are driven out of power and let them pay for their sins.

    florry:

I like your Rambotito Binay. Most accurate and proper name that suit Mayor Binay with his uniform fighting for justice against an abusive, corrupt, and large monsters residing in Malacanang. Modern hero of Makati Mayor Binay? A one man standing against Goliath with nothing but a slingshot or an Uzi?

I have a picture of Binay, FPJ and Senator Pimentel when they launched his candidacy.

  54. Anna,

Hindi ko rin alam ang ibig sabihin ng apog in the present context. I think it means “guts,” kasi ang alam ko ang apog mapait.

  55. Jon M Jon M

I think the use came from using “apog” as makeup, mas makapal ang makeup, mas makapal ang mukha = walang hiya.

  56. Toney Cuevas Toney Cuevas

Apog is a white powder, sometime it was use to line the tennis court or mark something, if I’m not mistaken.

  57. Jon M Jon M

Toney is right on what apog is. But the real apog was a powdered stuff from ashed sea shells used like a tobacco by the oldies. When women put makeup before, it was referred to in derision as apog if it didn’t look good. So if you had heavy makeup, people will say kapal ng apog mo. But it eventually morped into the current slang which means makapal ang mukha o walang hiya.

ano pa nga ba? Second World
    VIEWPOINTS

    Archbishop Oscar V. Cruz

    10/19/2006
The more recent wishful pronouncement of the national leadership is the following: “Right now, we are not a Third World anymore.” The dreamy reason forwarded by the same Malacañang leadership goes this way: “Our people will be enjoying a per capita income of $1,400.00 this year.” Lo and behold, the windy statement concluded: “We are now a Second World, a middle class country.”
To be the kindest and to say the least, such quixotic pronouncements could only come from someone living in another planet and staying in “cloud nine.” That is why no matter how preposterous and incredulous the claims are, these remain understandable and the claimant is still forgivable.
A per capita yearly income of $1,400.00 this year? There are billions who are jobless. There are millions who barely eat thrice a day. There are thousands who die for lack of common medicine and basic health. There are thousands who live by raking up garbage in sordid dump sites. There are progressively more suicides due to despair and helplessness. And there is someone delusory enough to say the Filipinos live in a second world country!
There is more: “we can reach hopefully First World status by the year 2020.” This is not merely a fearless forecast. It is a vacuous vision. How can such difficult and unstable present be the rational premise of such glorious and glowing future? And even the very wealthy, powerful and influential national leadership is not the least sure that it would be still around to see such blissful vision in the life of this nation.
A pitiful service economy that makes people merely market commodities. Unabated graft and corruption in government. Summary killings unlimited of people from poor farmers to churchmen. So much public discontent and resentment on account of structural social injustice. Consumer goods cost more and more to buy vis-à-vis the less and less money of the common tao to buy them. Nature, itself, even repeatedly bringing extraordinary havoc and destruction in the country in the recent years past. Under these circumstances, one can simply stand in wonder and awe how and when this country could be a “Second World” this 2004 — the more so, a “First World” in 2020!
All the above big social liabilities notwithstanding, would the claim that the country now belongs to “Second World” and thereafter have a “First World” status, become a reality. But just the same, let no one hold his breath — because one thing is certain: it takes a lot of gall and guts to speak of a huge forthcoming prosperity amid profound distressing poverty. This is simply reality check.

  65. Yup, Florry, akala nila sigurado na sila. Nadapa sila! Susmalosep! Ang tindi talaga!

    RP a second World?

The great economist from Malacanan must be dreaming a WRONG dream. First, Second and Third Worlds are mutually exclusive identities, not linear. I think this economist needs a reviewer. A 3rd World country wanting to obtain a 1st World status does not “move up” to 2nd World. Every freshman student in a social science course, introductory economics included, knows that 2nd World refers to COMMUNIST COUNTRIES. That world is many times worse than many developing countries that have take the path of democracy.

The dream turns into hallucination, if one thinks of making a quantum leap to 1st World rank in 15 years time. I have yet to hear Ramos say, “it’s a monumental dream.” Word play does not, and never shall, make miracles.

Why not another judge issue a TRO to this lady dreamer?

  67. To do this, HG, they will have to have a complete overhauling of the Justice Department of the Philippines, and terminate all the political appointees especially in the SC. 😛

  68. An order of arrest on the ghost employees in Malacanang MUST be issued ASAP! Isama na si jun.

  69. Malay natin baka nakahanda na ang helicopter to fly the crooks first to Guam and then to the US Continent. Kaya, tira lang ng tira!

  70. Chabeli Chabeli

    Hi, Anna de Brux!
Yessss, I’m in Manila for the time being…let’s see what happens from this Mayor Binay episode, in the meantime, we’re getting ready “to rumble.” Mayor Binay won in Round 1, but Binay’s camp is anticipating more Rounds with Gloria. He has been in power, tasted power, and knows the ropes in politics, longer than a Gloria. So far he is a forminable opponent to Gloria. This will be similar to a Pacquiao vs. Morales fight.

  71. Hi Chabeli,

Exciting times in Makati, don’t you think?

Has Manila changed, I mean the metropolis?

  72. Huy makati boy ito. Streets: Santillan dela rosa Kamusta dyan, Don Bosco Kamusta dyan. I wish i was back. 🙂

  73. Chabeli Chabeli

    Anna de Brux,
Indeed it was exciiiiiiiiting! The metropolis hasn’t changed that much, there are more buildings being built. From what I understand these are condos. The malls are pretty cool naman. But, I’m no maller though. Have a “job” to do here in the meantime.

But what was amazing on the 21st floor (Municipio in Makati) was the number of “representatives” of big Makati businessmen expressing their support to Mayor Binay. Amazing! I guess it wasn’t appropriate for these persons to show their faces just yet. But their were a lot of donations (in kind, I mean) coming into the office! And I thought majority of the so-called elite was the base of Gloria. Guess not.

You should come here, Anna de Brux. History COULD be unfolding.

  74. Spartan, All:

God willing, truth and justice will prevail!

    Emilio,

May bagong clone na nasa isang loop. Pakisagot nga! Paulit -ulit na parang sirang plaka. Wala akong tiyaga sa mga ganyang tao!

Child abuse? Susmalosep! Kaso rin iyong uniform. Kung ako kay Binay iyong BSP uniform na lang niya ang gamitin niya dahil at least puede niyang sabihin na dala din niya ang pangalan ng Boy Scouts of the Philippines in the same way that he is likewise a member of some bar association.

On the other hand, meron bang ganoon sa Pilipinas. Dito kasi may badge ang mga abogado.

What a hypocrite these people are! They cannot even follow the Constitution and the rules of law, how can they have the nerve to make such accusation and make arrests based on fabricated evidences and without proper investigations? Barbaric? You bet, it is!

  76. TongueInAnew TongueInAnew

    – – – – – –
(The following message, I had difficulty in posting earlier, siguro, epekto ng lindol, nag-down temporarily ang server ni Ellen.)

Jospehs, was in Makati Wednesday in exactly the places you mentioned. We were about to reach Buendia from SLEX when my driver decided to turn at Dela Rosa instead, Buendia traffic was pathetic and I saw a jeepney driver leave his passengers to take a sip of coffee in a carinderia and make it back to his jeep without missing an inch of traffic flow. Ganun katindi! Meanwhile, we were stuck in Santillan as we were tailing a garbage truck. Imagine, kahit suspendido and meyor may nangongolekta ng basura.

Anyways, we were able to get back to Dela Rosa then to Pasong Tamo and I told the driver we were passing by Don Bosco Church to catch a novena and let the traffic subside before we proceeded to Makati City Hall. That shows how efficient this mayor is. Compared to the #1 ghost employee in Malacañang? Malayo.

Teka, lumilindol yata! Oo nga, it’s exactly 1:27am and this is the second time tonight na lumindol. The first one occurred mga 11:30pm kanina for about 15 seconds, siguro mga intensity 4 lang naman, just like the earlier one.

  77. TongueInAnew TongueInAnew

    Slip of the Tongue:

    Josephs pala hindi “Jospehs”.

  78. Earthquake usually causes Tsunami.

A lot of them in fact work now for the government—the same members of the Zengakuren that used to skirmish with the police in full gear. Kasing lalaki noong mga bobbies na nakita ko sa UK when I was a student there.

In the late 60’s, I watched a demonstration against Vietnam and the US-Japan military treaty at downtown Tokyo dahil doon ang opisina ko. Gulat ako kasi nag-i-snake dancing, grabe. Nagliparan ang mga molotov bombs, but one could not help observing still the discipline. Walang looters, and shops just closed their doors and blinds and left the rioters and the police with their business.

Walang taunters and provocateurs hindi katulad sa Pilipinas! I waited for the riot to subside by going to a kissaten (coffee shop) after taking some pictures for my album. Mga pulis hindi puedeng bumaril. Idedemanda sila. Hindi nila puedeng ikatwiran na self-defense lalo na required sila na kumuha ng Judo, the art of self-defense without the use of deadly weapons!!! Natatanggal sa posisyon kapag nakapatay sila as a matter of fact!!!

I wonder when it is going to be like that in the Philippines. Sobrang abusado ang mga nakaupo. Ang yabang pa ng dating!

  79. pandawan pandawan

Kuha ito days before the Marcoses were airlifted to Paoay, no, Hawaii, and the majority of the people waving flaglets in that picture wearing KB t-shirts in the foreground were teenagers from Pasay, though this time wala nang bayad. Kahit yung mga taga Maynila, natakot pumasok sa Malacañang nung last 2 days. Pero yung grupo namin had to be dismissed personally by Imee and hearing what she said, we knew it was gonna be over soon, most of the women, started crying pero yung mga die hards nga may dala pang mga baril at magpapaiwan daw para lumaban pero pinauwi na rin ni Imelda.

Now why am I telling this story?

Sabi nga ng marami, its no longer a question of IF but WHEN it shall happen. If this is the time for the final showdown, so be it.

Handa na kami, kayo handa na ba kayo?

  81. You bet, TongueInAnew, may palabas din kami dito.

Ingat kayo diyan. At least, dito matino ang mga pulis.

  82. TIA, so yung rally sa Mendiola ang nasalubong mo. Mas matindi yun doon. In Makati it was peaceful and orderly because they were allowed to express their views.

  84. TongueInAnew,
Thanks for the grear memories about Makati. Those were great times.
I also remember just before the People’s Power, there was alot of tear gas in the streets of Ayala ordered by Marcos.

  85. Mrivera Mrivera

  86. Mrivera Mrivera

that was retroactive as of 01 september 2006. okey na rin.

Time to teach Filipinos to stand on their rights and privileges under the Constitution and the law that they should take oath and are dutybound to uphold.

(JEsus, JOseph, MAria). No wonder, malakas siya sa itaas!

By law, may karapatan siya dahil hindi naman siya under ng Executive, kahit na ng appointee ng bogus president.

Sabi ng Inquirer, “Binay told:It ain’t over yet!”

Walang urungan! Tuloy-tuloy na ito. Chabeli, Schumey, TongueInAnew, et al, ingat! PATALSIKIN NA, NOW NA! DOROBO BABA NA!

ASEAN firms urged to cooperate to crack Chinese and Indian markets —-Channel NewsAsia (Yahoo!® News Singapore)

Singapore’s local enterprises have been urged to seize the opportunity to cooperate with their counterparts in ASEAN and other regions in Asia, to enter into joint investment projects in China and India.

Making the call was Deputy Prime Minister Wong Kan Seng who adds that large local enterprises, including government-linked companies, can share their experiences with the SMEs in this area and help them achieve a breakthrough in their overseas ventures.

Mr Wong who was speaking at the Asian Chinese Entrepreneurs Summit, organised by the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry said Singapore also welcomes businessmen from every part of the world to invest here and set up companies and even get a listing on the Singapore Exchange.

He noted that currently more than 700 companies are listed on the Singapore Exchange and among them, more than 250 are of foreign origin.

Of this 110 enterprises are from China.

Mr Wong believes that as Singapore is a productive, well-managed and liberal market, it is particularly attractive to China companies seeking an offshore destination.

Furthermore, Singapore’s stature as an international fund management centre enabled companies listed in Singapore an easy access to fund managers and institutional investors.

Also, the Singapore Exchange has modified its listing rules, enabling even more fledgling yet promising Chinese enterprises the opportunity and eligibility to obtain a public listing in Singapore. – CNA/ch
