Just for the record

I just opened my email and I got this message from a Daniel Perez with e-mail address: danie11aperez80@yahoo.com

Mr. Perez’ message:

What kind of death do you prefer? To die of cancer? To die of accident? To die of ambush? To die of heart attack due to your libel suit? Your days are numbered.

Is this some kind of a threat? For sure you would not find a person behind that address, but for the record, better inform the authorities “officially” about it and be very cautious. And take every threat seriously.

  2. If this is a joke, this is a sick one. You have to watch your back. Report this Ellen, Vic is right, have this one officially recorded.

  3. we-will-never-learn we-will-never-learn

Its seems that people thrive on television violence giving it a cute name of “action” or domestic violence with another cute name “drama” where the woman is beaten and treated like a 2nd class citizen. Plus local TV news stations with fatal “stabbing” and “shooting” reports as a nightly diet complete with the bloodied victim on view.
There’s constant debate on “Discipline”, “Truth” and “Professionalism” and to preach the Ten Commandments it seems only on a Sunday.
If there is a disagreement of opinion there seems to be the need for threatened violence, as if that is the solution. This is a sure sign that many people lack the confidence such as in countries like Singapore where sidearms are banned(at no cost to anybody), drivers are disciplined, road cleanliness is important to the property occupiers, and without relying on the local government to remove their trash.
A Journalist gets threatened with her life – for writing an opinion – Only in the Philippines this will happen (or maybe Iraq)’
If you people want a better life – then you had better wake up soon!

  4. Ellen:

God is preserving you, I know, and nobody can do anything to you otherwise.

  5. we-will-never-learn we-will-never-learn

Be it a prank or not, this person has loose marbles to make such a threat like this – and lacks the confidence to post an opinion – they are losers.

Apparently, there is a rein of terror over there that should actually be reported to the UNCHR, etc. I am supplying our Diet members here of the ff. statement from ex-UP President Nemenzo:

  7. Putol na naman. Here’s the note from Prof. Nemenzo FYI:

Statement on the charge of rebellion

    Francisco Nemenzo

    Former President and Professor Emeritus,

    University of the Philippines

If the attachments to the subpoena are all the evidence they can
produce, the NBI and CIDG are wasting the time of the state prosecutors by
including me in the rebellion case [NBI and CIDG vs. MGen. Renato Miranda, et al. IS
No. 2006-1003]. They did such a sloppy job that they could not even get my
name right. In the subpoena I am listed as “Prudencio Dodong Nemenzo.” Everyone
in UP knows my real name. A call to Diliman or a visit to UP Manila (the NBI’s
next door neighbor) would have spared them from this embarrassing error.

I could have taken advantage of their carelessness to deny that I am
one of the accused. But I do not want to get off the hook through
technicality. I welcome this charge – no matter how silly and malicious – as an
opportunity to reiterate the views that the Arroyo government seeks to suppress. I
choose to speak in my own voice instead of speaking through my lawyers to show
that the opposition cannot be cowed. The mass movement will not be intimidated.
We shall continue to call for the ouster of an illegitimate, corrupt,
incompetent, and repressive regime that has inflicted so much damage to our country.

It is our patriotic duty to defend the area of freedom that people’s
power had carved out in the struggle against the Marcos dictatorship. The best
way to defend freedom is to exercise it. Responsible citizens cannot watch in
silence as the minions of Mrs. Arroyo make a mockery of our democratic
    rights.

    Bases for the allegations

Before I go further, let me answer the specific charges. In some 150
pages of documentation, I am mentioned only twice: in the affidavits of Lt.
Lawrence San Juan and Lt. Patricio Bumidang. My name does not appear in the
letter of transmittal, the Lopez report, or the affidavits and transcripts of oral
    testimonies.

San Juan claims that I met a group of junior officers to discuss the
Blueprint for a Viable Philippines. This I do not deny. What is wrong with
discussing with soldiers the problems of our country and the policy options
available? They, too, are citizens who are worried about our country’s plunge to
    disaster.

I should emphasize, however, that I met San Juan before he escaped,
before he became a fugitive. There was therefore nothing conspiratorial about
the meeting. We also discussed the Blueprint with colleagues in academe, with
journalists, religious communities, mass organizations, and even with Makati
business executives. This document is published and widely circulated. In fact,
it is posted in the Internet and can be downloaded by anybody who cares about
    the future of this country.

In a separate affidavit Bumidang alleges that I visited him and other
fugitives in the house of Renato Constantino, Jr. It is not unusual for me to
visit RC Constantino because we are old friends. I have been to his house
countless times; but never did I find soldiers among his guests. Mr. Bumidang’s
story is inaccurate. In truth, I first saw Mr. Bumidang’s face on television, wh
en he and companions were paraded for public humiliation after their capture.

I hold no rancor toward San Juan and Bumidang. They have been kept in
isolation and probably subjected to physical and mental torture. Having
experienced solitary confinement myself, I know how vulnerable they are to
intrigues and disinformation. It is not improbable that their tormentors put words
into their mouths. For this investigation to be credible to the intelligent
public, I challenge Gen. Esperon to allow media, in the presence of bishops and
other religious leaders, to interview San Juan and Bumidang. Release them from
isolation and let them answer questions about their affidavits outside the
intimidating atmosphere of an interrogation chamber. If indeed they are telling the
truth, there is no reason to shield them from public grilling.

The legitimacy crisis When citizens perceive the government as
legitimate, they will obey even if they disagree with its policies; otherwise, they
have to be forced to obey. The current political instability is rooted in
this widespread perception that the president is a usurper who uses foul means to
keep herself in power. All opinion surveys show that most people doubt the
legitimacy of her accession in 2001 and her reelection in 2004.

When those who are supposed to protect her government and enforce her
orders doubt her legitimacy as well, her position is precarious indeed. She
is lucky that the protest movement has yet to reach the stage of rebellion.
Rebellion properly so called involves the use of arms. A peaceful demonstration,
no matter how massive, does not constitute a rebellion. Wishing for a coup is
not rebellion. But Mrs. Arroyo’s minions, by accusing us of what we have not
done, provoke the angry multitude who may be less temperate to turn the
fabricated scenario into a grim reality.

Dictators panic when they hear voices of dissent because when people
gain the courage to defy, the effectiveness of state coercion is diminished.
But a democratic government, confident of its own legitimacy, responds to such
    voices with equanimity.

I was never convinced of the legitimacy of Mrs. Arroyo’s accession to
power. Yet, as head a state institution (as President of the University of
the Philippines) I urged my constituents to accept her presidency as an
accomplished fact and give her the benefit of the doubt. That was because I was
painfully aware that a breakdown of civic order would prevent UP from catching up
with the other premier universities in Asia.

It became increasingly clear, however, that Mrs. Arroyo does not
deserve our qualified and tentative support. She continues to pursue the
neo-liberal policies that have devastated the lives of the working people. She has
incurred more public debts than her three predecessors put together. While waving
the banner of a “strong republic,” her government could not enforce the laws
on influential malefactors. She blames external circumstances for our economic
woes, but it is her policies that make the country vulnerable to the vagaries
of the global market. In a sense, she is the No. 1 destabilizer.

She had a chance to legitimize her illegitimate regime by a
convincing victory in the 2004 elections. But she squandered the chance. The indecent
haste in her proclamation in the wee hours of the morning, and the stubborn
refusal to open for scrutiny the certificates of canvass in contested provinces
reinforced the suspicion of massive cheating. This worsened when her rabid
supporters in the Lower House aborted the impeachment process, invoking flimsy
arguments that could only persuade the blind and the brainless.

By depriving the Senate of the opportunity to evaluate and pass
judgment on the authenticity and implications of the Garci tapes, they closed the
last possibility of removing her through constitutional means. This prompted
people, out of frustration, to explore of the extra-constitutional channels. As
doubts of her legitimacy mount, Mrs. Arroyo and her minions are now resorting
    to systematic intimidation.

Since the much ballyhooed “all out war” miserably failed to crush
the underground opposition, her minions have started running after the
aboveground opposition. The special target of the latest drive is the open mass
movement. Peaceful rallies are violently dispersed. Some 800 grassroots activists
have perished in extra-judicial executions. Lately they are threatening to
replace elected opposition mayors with docile partisans.

    Unrest in the armed services

This campaign of intimidation is the context of this and similar
cases recently filed. Without being asked, I take up the cudgels for the active
and retired military and police officers who are similarly accused, but who
cannot speak freely because they are either detained or forced into hiding by a
fabulous reward for their capture, dead or alive. Among them are the finest
officers in the AFP and PNP.

These are not the stereotype soldiers who blindly follow orders from
the chain of command. These are intelligent officers who dare to ask if the
regime deserves the risk to their lives and the lives of the men under their
command. With RSBS sponged dry, they also worry about the survival of the
families they might leave behind. In a brazen display of hypocrisy, their
star-spangled superiors invoke the doctrine of “political neutrality” to whip them into
    line.

But these soldiers have come to realize that “political neutrality”
is a fiction. Many times in Philippine history, the AFP and PNP played a
political role. They have been used to protect the elite from the outraged masses.
They have also been used to thwart the people’s will in fraudulent elections.
These soldiers who now stand accused for violating “political neutrality” are
in fact trying to redeem their profession from ignominy, by aligning
themselves with the people. They seek to transform the armed services from a tool of
elite rule and an instrument of deceitful politicians into a force for genuine
    democracy and social reforms.

Extrapolating from survey results, a coup to evict GMA would be the
most popular coup in Philippine history. But there was no danger of that last
February 24th. It is evident in the Lopez report and the affidavits and
testimonies appended to the complaint against us that Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim and Col.
Ariel Querubin did not plan to stage a coup. They just wanted to march with
their troops to the EDSA shrine and join a civilian crowd in calling for
withdrawal of support from an illegitimate and corrupt government. Real coup plotters
do not ask permission from their superior officers, much less invite them to
    heed the clamor from below.

As a political science professor who specialized in the study of
unconventional forms of political action, I have been a keen observer of military
affairs. I therefore understand and sympathize with these disgruntled
soldiers, but I vehemently disclaim the charge that we conspired against the Filipino
    people.

this is one of the prices we have to pay in this age of internet.mobile phones are also being used for threats.i will be honored if somebody tell me i am “matapang” but the “masyado” connotes something negative.if there is anything certain in this life, it is that all of us will die.the first sentences i suppose is to make you think about death.i do not know how i will react to this type except that i will continue the same things i like to do but also in a way to look behind.

I have the privilege of travel to other countries, threats abroad on cell phone are unheard of.
    Only in the Philippines!

we-will-never-learn:mobil phone threats are very common among young people here in norway.thing is in any group there will always be outsiders who are often also the weakest so they are mobbed thru the mobile.in some cases young people are hospitalized due to this.

Ellen, this threat is again truly a sign of desperation leading to madness. You can be assured you are one person I don’t think they would want to harm. You have too many supporters and admirers nationwide and abroad. The repercussions of doing you harm are enormous.

Presidential spokesman Ignacio “Toting” Bunye seems destined to eat his words everytime he defends Gloria and her morally bankrupt administration.

His issuance of a statement against politicians being on a mad rush for the elections next year should be best addressed to his Malacañang patron, instead of the opposition.

Several of the kin of Gloria are already positioning themselves as political wannabes in next year’s elections, primarily her youngest son Diosdado “Dato” Arroyo who will be contesting the Camarines Sur congressional district of Rolando Andaya, who has already announced he is not seeking a seat in the House of Representatives in 2007, preferring to stay in the Cabinet of Gloria Arroyo.

A Tribune source said Dato reluctantly acceded to running for a post in Congress apparently from the prodding of who else, but his mom and dad. Dato would have been content living life away from the political limelight but a campaign is on the way to stack up Congress with Gloria’s trusted allies.

Dato has supposedly bought a house in Camarines Sur to establish the residency rule for a congressional candidate.

The congressional bid of the younger son was supposedly accepted reluctantly by Andaya, who is currently Gloria’s budget secretary.

Aside from Dato, his aunt Marilou Arroyo would be running for the congressional race in one of the Negros Occidental district. Gloria’s brother-in-law, and Marilou’s brother, Ignacio, is already congressman for the fifth district of Negros.

The other son of Gloria, Juan Miguel “Mikey” Arroyo already is a Pampanga congressman.

With politics becoming a family business in the Macapagal-Arroyo household, circa 2007, one can kiss clean and honest elections goodbye. Gloria is not likely to have her children and her in-laws lose even the congressional battle. But why stop at the House seats? Why not field Mikey, Iggy and even Luli in the Senate race?

Gloria is said to refuse to budge from her efforts to do a political hat trick by amending the Constitution. The people’s initiative of Gloria (PIG), that supposedly outswelling of public demand for the revision of the Constitution, was in reality a repeat operation of the massive cheating mechanism employed in the 2004 elections to fabricate a non-existent people’s clamor.

With the PIG dead, its fraudulent nature being exposed by both the Commission on Elections and the Supreme Court in their rulings on the petitions, Gloria is now mobilizing her lapdogs in Congress to initiate a Constituent Assembly (Con-ass).

The focus of Gloria at this moment is to muster enough support in the House of Representatives for the Con-ass to pull through.

Now what is this that Bunye is trying to say? He was telling politicians to stay away from the “mud pit” of politics?

The moment he mouthed those pieces of wise advice, Gloria’s family had already started wallowing into what Bunye was calling a mud pit.

How many other Gloria sympathizers are being coaxed if not volunteering to run for an elective post, all in the name of helping prop the administration of Gloria, the foundations of which remain questionable due to allegations of massive cheating in the 2004 elections.

Plainly, Gloria seems to be merely reaping the luck of the economy being carried by relative progress in the region helped along by an illusory fiscal improvement that is the result mainly of a pause in massive spending due to a budget rolled over from last year coupled by an increase in tax collections due to the expanded value added tax.

The economy, in general, however, remains trailing behind the rest of the region and is walking on crutches provided by the billions of dollars of remittances from Filipinos working overseas.

Bunye should make it a point to look over his shoulder whenever he gives his ten cents’ worth of advice while Gloria does her sneaky tricks in the background.

Otherwise, it makes him look like a complete fool.

But then again, anyone who mouths Gloria’s inanities and hypocrisy can’t be anything but a fool.

Malaya columnist Ellen Tordesillas gets death threat

Feisty Malaya columnist Ellen Tordesillas received yesterday an emailed death threat directly linked to her criticism of government affairs.

Tordesillas, in a report sent to the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines, said she discovered the threat around 3 p.m. on Nov. 12, shortly after she had sent in her column. The terse threat came from a certain Daniel Perez with the email address danie11aperez@yahoo.com. It was recorded as having come in 7:21 a.m.

The message said: “What kind of death do you prefer? To die of cancer? To die of accident? To die of ambush? To die of heart attack due to your libel suit? Masyado kang matapang ha? Puro banat mo sa Pangulo dahil hindi ka napartehan ng gracia kahit kaunti. Your days are numbered.”

Tordesillas is among one of 43 journalists facing criminal libel suits filed by First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo.

The NUJP calls on the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to immediately track down the threat sender, using all technological equipment and processes at their disposal.

“Given the rising number of journalists’ death in this county, authorities cannot afford to dismiss this blatant threat against Ms. Tordesillas,” the NUJP said in a statement. “We demand a speedy investigation into the incident and urge police authorities to ensure that no harm comes to this veteran columnist.”

“Any harm that befalls a member of the Philippine press is a crime that lies squarely on the feet of this administration, which already has a record of having had the most number of media deaths compared to its predecessors,” NUJP said.

“President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has asked the Melo Commission to investigate the deaths of our colleagues. We challenge her now to prevent one more death in the media community,” the statement read.

Pasalamat kayo na mabait si Davide. Kasi if it were me being slandered by paramecium such as yourselves, matagal ko na kayong pinapatay. Unlike Davide, I don’t believe in God. I believe in vengeance and believe me, nothing would give me greater pleasure than to impale you by your open mouth with a sword and pin you on a high wall where everyone can see you. And then I’ll do the same thing to your Ellen Tordesillas and your Dean Jorge Bocobo and to everyone else who has been slandering Davide.

But i pointed out na mali siya at talagang may anomalya yung paggamit ni davide sa JDF money.

  21. Ellen,

I will forward this to someone I know in the International Federation of Journalists in Brussels.

The person signing this is NOT SICK! He knows what he or she is DOING! The person who sent this message MUST BE APREHENDED, INDICTED AND PUNISHED.

He or she must be made an example of – no less than a thorough thummping!

I suggest Ellen that you SEND the e-mail to Mr Davide and to EVERY member of the Supreme Court!

    This cannot go on!

    Ellen:

Obviously Daniel Perez is one of the the paid drive-by- shooter of bogus Gloria, and now he’s into the blog carrying a message for his master. If not Perez if would be somebody else, I’d imagine. Why am not surprise! In the land of the enchanted kingdom of the Arroyos you’re or all of us that gets in the way of fake Gloria are nothing but stastic. Your life to bogus Gloria is just one of the 86 million, and one more is not going to matter when she already did hundreths. Hence, another Ellen is just a number to bogus Gloria, just like a walk in the park.

Perez is one of the many in the Philippines will do anything to survive or to live in comfort and killing is just part of their way of life. An acceptable way of life for those in desperation that has now become a standard precedent by bogus Gloria when she came in to power.

Ellen you should take this warning quite serious since you’ve become a threat to Gloria’s legitimacy. Your courage is well noted, and unquestionable. I can only envy you for doing what you believe is just while myself and many others are on the sideline. I hope this threat is nothing but just what it’s a threat and nothing will come out of it. But at the same time you need to be cognizant of your surrounding at all time. You ain’t President Estrada, but just a journalist and you know what happen to many of your colleagues that spoke ill of bogus Gloria, gone but a memory of them.

Your objective to bring out the truths in the land of Bogus Gloria is almost an impossible task.

Having your blog is “Making Life Worth Living.” You’ll be on my prayer, Ellen.

Sadly, fact of reality is that the PNP and AFP or other law enforcement are nothing but useful tools of Bogus Gloria, they are well being taken care like lions in the den. And Daniel Perez is one of them quite clearly.

Daniel at least is telling the truth, “Your days are numbered.” So all of us and certainly Daniel Perez, he just don’t want to admit it yet. Is just a matter of time, the only question is how. Daniel might be part of the problem, but bogus Gloria is the main cause of it. If anybody to blame it should be directed to bogus Gloria and/or to the Arroyos, they know no shame nor honor as human being. Like I said before, “The Arroyos are nothing but IT”, they’re not to be considered human being, but animals in a cage.

You stop the major cause of the problem, you stop Per-ass.

    Hi Ellen,

I read about this death threat thing in the inq7.net.

  27. chi chi

    Ellen,

We know fully well who is/are the brains behind this cowardness. Pinasisikat ka nila ng husto. You are made!

Seriously Ellen, this is a sick joke thought of by the sickest of minds. Like the others in this blog, I am offering special prayers for you.

In the Land of Make Belief – Enchanted kingdom, all threats should be taken seriously. What Daniel did is just part of bogus Gloria’s game to remain in power. It’s bogus Gloria’s cancer that’s killing the Philippines, it must be cured permanently. Or we won’t have a country that once the “Pearl of the Orient Seas.”

So, the threat has been reported to the authorities, so what? How about Mang Melo and his commission, have we heard from him anymore? He faded away just like a good soldier of bogus Gloria that he is. Like everything else in the land of enchanted kingdom, it will come to pass and forgotten. It’s the way things are in the Philippines, whoever got the gold has the golden rules, something to that effect.

Now, who is Daniel Perez and how can he be found? If Daniel emailed Ellen, he must’ve used a pc, at least a start, if the authority will take it is seriously. I’ve my doubt, as I doubted Hello Garci, Josie Bolate, Chavit, and many others. As like I said, they are well being fed by the illegal occupants of our house. They must be evicted if we to stop the threats and uncheck killings.

  30. Toney Cuevas Toney Cuevas

    Ellen:

And for the record, treat Daniel’s threat to you as your life depending on it. It’s not something to be ignored. Daniel is the messenger of devil coming out of Malacanan. No where else but in Malacanan. So, what bogus Gloria and her dogs will do about such threat, just like in the past, nothing. As Iggy would say like a broken record, ” We don’t have anything to do with it, we are innocense.” Sure, same as the bears don’t shit in the wood.

  31. Toney Cuevas Toney Cuevas

In the positive note: Bogus Gloria is the terminal cancer patient and certainly not you Ellen. Something for you to think about. Bogus Gloria will die sooner of later as hated person. I’d prefer sooner the better. And bogus Gloria will be remembered as the one that stole and cheated Malacanan twice. Ellen, I believe you are in a better position than bogus Gloria when judgement day come. St. Peter knows who’re being good and bad.

  32. Chabeli Chabeli

Wow, what SOME people would resort to! Indeed this person is a member of the DESPERADO club of Gloria! Ms. Ellen, there is nothing more powerful than prayer, and so after reading this, I prayed and asked the Lord to protect you.

Like Vic and Schumey, I also agree and would suggest that you should “Report this…have this one officially recorded.”

  33. zenzennai zenzennai

  34. Ellen,

Someone, someplace has become desperate… you are SCARING him. Only a scared person goes this far.

    I am of two minds

    1. he’s/shes giving people the run around meant to catch you offguard because:

    a) the writer is actually a Malacanang supporter; he/she is pissed off real bad because daddy baboy or mama bansot is getting really desperate

    b) the HOT MAMA/HOT PAPA honed in and some people are feeling edgy!

    3. The other possibility (but not to be disregarded is the writer of the e-mail is just a prankster or is mentally disturbed but as Elvira said, a blighting coward (gotta be careful just the same because cowards can be dangerously treacherous!)

    4. The threat is meant to stir public sympathy for you and even so, the writer must be MAD to do something like as moronic as that.

In any event, people who make threats whatever their reason must be told in no uncertain terms, that threats can be eaten for breakfast, that he/she is doing HIMSELF/HERSELF AN IMMENSE DISFAVOR by doing something like this.

Allow me to make a suggestion: Don’t shrug off this moronic threat tale Ellen even if we know women journalists like are of COURAGE personified…Be prepared to shoot first!

  35. For those of you in Manila please join:

your messages of support are most welcome. thank you.

Overseas Filipinos, especially UP alumni, we encourage you to send the messages to be read in the rally tomorrow to Ellen to be sent to me and I will transmit your message to the organizers re unfounded charges against Prof. Nemenzo.

  36. You’re right, Anna, the letter writer may be a psycho and may try to stalk Ellen and do her harm to make good his threat. Desperado na talaga ang mga ungas, ano? 😡

  37. Ellen,

Email the letter with the complete header to abuse@yahoo.com to trace the sender. Since it is a threat, they will be anxious to help you.

Elvirra is right. Report this to the police, and by doing so, we will know how efficient the PNP under a relative of the Pidal!!! 😡

I met a minority leader of the Philippine Congress in Tokyo and I mentioned the above letter. He said he would like to lambast the administration about it. We’ll see.

  38. hawaiianguy hawaiianguy

That kind of threat is quintessential of how the press is muzzled in authoritarian regimes, particularly Iraq, Russia (before its breakup), Myanmar, etc. In Singapore, where critical voices are tabooed, vanguards of status quo don’t even do it that way. At least, they are human enough and can distinguish savagery from civilization.

Whoever sent that email to Ellen does not deserve a rightful place in a civilized and democratic society. Doing that to a frail woman is unthinkable and an act of a savage.

Ellen, be strong! In a fight like this, evil NEVER succeeds.

  39. Emilio_OFW Emilio_OFW

    Ms. Ellen,

The e-mail sender must have snapped when he/she was hit bull’s eye from any of your hard-heating articles, although not mentioning any name, he/she must retaliate at all costs!

Through the representation from the NUJP President, preserve the e-mail, he can file a complain to the authorities. The assigned agency will investigate the source of the e-mail, such as the domain IP address till it will pinpoint the exact PC IP address.

Be careful and cautious at all times. My prayers are with you.

  40. npongco npongco

I wonder what Tony has to say about the shameful defeat of the Republicans last election. And so are the other Bush apologists and defenders in this blog.

  41. alitaptap alitaptap

Emilio is right – the threater’s email can be traced to the source. Question is: will the culprit be punished for his offense? There is another culprit in malacanan who steals not only one tilapia but billions of the people’s money and gets away with it.

  42. npongco npongco

Would you believe that even the popular TV host and entertainment writer Cristy Fermin is on the BID watchlist as ordered by DOJ? Cristy happens to be identified with Jinggoy and the Estrada camp.

  43. Diego K. Guerrero Diego K. Guerrero

It’s not a surprise for fascist regime of Gloria Arroyo to suppress critics and dissenters by means of intimidation, harassment, death threats and extra-judicial killings. I think the Philippine National Police (PNP) is helpless to fight cyber crimes for some reasons.

  44. we-will-never-learn we-will-never-learn

ystaki: we already know how inefficient the PNP are by now don’t we. Throughout the western world police services, the PNP are compared with the Keystone Cops of the silent movies who made people roar with laughter and could not be taken seriously….thats until the PNP came along!

  45. we-will-never-learn we-will-never-learn

As for reporting this threat on the email to the PNP thata a waste of time because the administration have no fear of the PNP because they control the PNP…………..but this administration has fear of the International Community, why because they have no control of them.
Even UP President Francisco Nemenzo has pointed out that the NBI couldn’t even get his name correct! Keystone Cops!

  46. TonGuE-tWisTeD TonGuE-tWisTeD

Ellen, looking more closely, this daniel1aperez@yahoo.com may not be a male after all. I believe it was a female who intended to eliminate part of the expected retaliatory emails by spelling it as DANIEL1A instead of DANIELLA for those who overlooked the minor difference. The writer may have unconsciously given away the clue to her sex by her choice of alias. The real name could never be DANIEL PEREZ or DANIELLA PEREZ I’m sure.

The substitution of “1” for “L” is a technique of the texting/chatting generation and therefore is anywhere between 15 to 40 years old.

The sender’s mispelling of gracia instead of the more appropriate grasya in Pilipino speaks of a certain colonial influence.

The choice of words describes this woman’s personal anguish towards Gloria’s critics and her violent tendencies.

Try to have someone check your previous blogs for similarities in the profile of the commenters and you have your first suspects. Have someone download the email with Eudora or other email clients that display the sender’s IP address and you can shout it out here, we can then hunt down your digital terrorist.

Filing a complaint and having it documented is a good start. But don’t expect anything to happen in your favor. You know why.

Don’t be paranoid nor be too complacent. If this is a mere prank, the real villains may just step in and grab the opportunity.

    We’re praying for you.

The Philippine Star reports today 11/13/06 that:
PNP Chief Director General Oscar Calderon claims that 21 of 26 journalist murdered nationwide had been solved due to intensified operations to solve extra-judicial killings.
REALLY! to solve a murder they would need to arrest and produce and convict the murderers, wouldn’t they. So where are these arrested murderers and when were they convicted of murder – almost as incredible as his report that crime is down by 50%.

  51. we-will-never-learn we-will-never-learn

Calderon also appealed for the cooperation of the media to help police solve the other cases of journalist slayings – as if journalist may know that they are about to be mudered – incredible. Murders in the western world are solved by hard working dedicated professional detectives
,,,,,,,ever seen one dedicated professional detective in the NBI or PNP…..there is your answer!
What we hear is that they work without search warrants, plant evidence and rig statements for evidence, until PNP are serious and get trained to do their duty….duty in a professional manner, the lawmakers can make laws until the moon turns purple, with no real effect.

  52. we-will-never-learn we-will-never-learn

The Philippine Star reports that representative of five left wing groups are attending a conference of the UNHRC

This administration is more in fear of International reports than of the PNP for reasons I already gave,

    Methinks actionable po ito.

Kung may institutional effort to pursue this incident, may posibilidad po to legally compel Yahoo to disclose the traceroute of the apparent yahoo e-mail that sent the threat.

Formal action would have to be filed, to which Yahoo may be
required to cooperate, as this is an explicit threat for all intents and purposes that has to be covered, and prohibited by, the Yahoo End-User License Agreement (EULA).

    Regards. Maalab na pakikibaka.

  54. TongueT:

There is one blogging at OFW-vote egroup with the addy, “daniellaperez80@yahoo.com” and here’s an example of her post there:
    — In OFW-Vote@yahoogroups.com, “daniellaperez80” wrote:

Conveying her deep sadness over the continuing black propaganda mounted by Congressman Cayetano against her family, the President complained of the “grave injustice” inflicted on her loved ones by the Taguig-Pateros solon, stating that Cayetano “shamelessly peddled the lie that my family is maintaining a bank account in Munich, Germany
amounting to hundreds of millions of dollars,” even though Munich’s HypoVereinsbank, the bank in question, has issued an official document repudiating Cayetano’s claim, saying the said bank account was “non-existent”. However, Cayetano doesn’t seem to understand simple facts as he continues to torment the First Family over this, which has no doubt led to the President finally speaking out against him, “I am
breaking my silence because I can no longer allow my family to be pilloried in this manner by a man who I had thought to bear the honor and principle of a respected father and Senator of the Republic,” she said. She further pointed out that the “public has been shown the official bank documents belying his claims, but he insists on beating around the bush rather than face the challenge squarely,” and issuing
a challenge for Cayetano to “be man enough to admit his mistake,” as by dragging the First Family through the mud for his self-serving political motives, he has in fact done a great “disservice not only to his constituents but to the entire public.”

    — End forwarded message —

Everybody knows that this has metamorphosed from such IDs as “nexmillie,” etc. They’re lots of them in the Philippine fora and blogs praising the Bansot! Now, in desperation, it is embarking on threatening, intimidating and harassing blog owners and fora moderators! A lot many people blurting out against the Bansot have also found their PCs infested with viruses, worms and bugs, and spywares to make blogging here sometimes even difficult.

This should be stopped. Yup, international pressure should now begin. I understand the Bansot’s reception in EU countries was least cordial, and anyone who has scruples and shame would vow never to return there ever again! Pero ang kapal talaga ng mukha! In Japan, there is now a big pressure from Japanese concerns to stop ODA to Bansot!!!

Hallelujah! Blessing in disguise sa totoo lang, Ellen! Magandang panggising as a matter of fact!!!

  55. we-will-never-learn we-will-never-learn

ystakei: If Yahoo can identify each of the two email address involved and verifiy that they’re registered by the same – person maybe its game set and match.
    Well Done!

  56. We-will-never-return, the addies differed only in one letter as Tongue T has posted, “l” and “1.” It is easy to get a new account from yahoo as a matter of fact, and it is free.

  57. Point is where is the proof that the document being presented by the Fat Guy to disprove allegations by Cayetano is not also fake? I would recommend to Cayetano to ask the German foreign ministry or the German embassy to authenticate the document, because anybody can get a letterhead from the bank in question and the signature of the bank executive there falsified. A police investigation in Germany in fact should be requested instead of relying on a document being presented by a criminal suspect! This is in fact an accepted criminal procedure especially in more progressive societies.

This should be initiated, an investigation by the German police on this issue. The bank in question should be wary of this transaction and should ask for police clearance to free itself from possible stigma that this scandal can create on its operation, credibility and integrity. This should be recommended for the sake of truth and justice, and not merely to try to clean up someone’s pathetically blackened record. Makapal lang nga talaga!

  58. florry florry

It’s now on record and indisputable that Ellen have reach the height of an incomparable popularity and became one of the most read journalist in the Philippines that she caught the ire and wild imaginations of the objects of her brillant mind, sharp tongue and itchy fingers pounding the keyboard of her computer. If not, then they could have just ignored and taken her for granted as a nobody. It shows that her subjects can no longer take the heat and sting of her critical but consistent analysis of all matters concerning their illegal and corrupt ways. Add to this is the fact that this (her) blog is so popular, sprouted into all directions, to the east, to the west, south and north. It’s gone worldwide and the bogus occupants of the palace know that they can no longer hide and cover up their evil deeds, even by those very expensive PR firms that they are paying with people’s money. It’s now being exposed right into the very eyes of the world and nothing can stop it as long as she is alive. And so they have to resort into a very dangerous game of issuing a threat to her life
The threat, whether it’s a hoax or real, should not be taken for granted. In this time when the Philippines is a killing field of progressive journalists, militants and activists, you can never be sure of anything. We are witnesses of how life is so cheap in the hands of the powerful who have no qualms in eliminating those who are perceived to be their political enemies or against their dirty and corrupt governance. It’s so sad and disgusting that situations have to be like this.
Now the problem is, if you are the object of such threat, how can you take precautions, and how can you take care of yourself. That’s the situation where Ellen is in now. For now, we can’t do anything except to pray for her. I suggest that even if we haven’t prayed during our entire life and we care for Ellen, maybe it’s time to whisper a simple prayer for her safety. We have nothing to loss, only gain.
And as I said, whether it’s a hoax or real, Ellen, may God be with you and protect you always.

Kita naman natin ang “dialogue”, palpak agad…meron daw hatian, kung me hatian, ibig sabihin may mga “nadambong”…ibig sabihin nitong mama na ito, TALAGANG MANDARAMBONG ang “presidente” niya….HE HE HE….AMINADO! 😛

Pero, puwera biro…tulad na nga nasabi ng marami dito…ingat lang Ms. Tordesillas…this regime is becoming desperate, and desperate times calls for desperate measures as the saying goes.

  62. Spartan:

May hatian pang sinasabi! 😛

  65. Sinabi mo pa, Spartan! Dada daw wala namang magagawa! Oh yeah? Tignan natin!

BTW, Ellen, the outgoing Congen here is being replaced by someone who has been requested kicked out from Japan. Bakit ibabalik dito? Sipsip ba kasi kay Bansot?

Baka lalo si Bansot na hindi maboto dito dahil galit ang mga pilipino sa babaing ito, who cannot finish an assignment anywhere dahil masama ang reputation and dealings with both the Filipinos and the natives of the countries she is assigned to. Babae itong diplomat na ito, Ellen. Asawa ng isang foreigner and speaks Japanese, too.

Pulis(PNP) or NBI(under DOJ)…ngek!

Nakakatakot din ang katulad ng sumulat kay Ellen even when it was sent to tease her. Baka may patik sa ulo iyan at bigla siyang harangin at gawan ng katarantaduhan! Tapos magple-plead ng insanity. Patay! BTW, over in Japan, with the scientific discovery that even psychos have times when they are sane and sober, pleading insanity is more often than not ignored by the court. Lokoloko man o hindi gets fair judgment according to the offense committed as provided by the law or laws violated. For me, that is true democracy!

  75. Jon M,

  76. Mrivera Mrivera

    ystakei, jon m,

  78. Jon M Jon M

Ellen herself as the object of the threat can ask help from yahoo (as one of the suggestions mentioned to write to yahoo’s abuse email). But I agree with the other comments made that it might be very difficult to find who really sent the email. But then again, it only takes a yahoo geek (maybe a technical consultant who has access to the files of yahoo) to trace the account. From the registration of the email address, which ip address was used to submit the application and when, also which ip address was used to send the email itself. Having all this information can help trace the computer(s) used.

Again it depends on “who” will do the tracing! I’m sure the police or the NBI has already set up a group to handle electronic crimes, pero maaasahan ba sila?

  79. Jon M: I’m sure the police or the NBI has already set up a group to handle electronic crimes, pero maaasahan ba sila?

    *****

The truth is I got a viral mail from her e hindi ko naman siya kakilala!!! Kaya alam kong na-clone siya kasi humihirit din siya laban kay Bansot even when they were part of EDSA 2! Choice between two evils, natanso sila!

  80. Careful kayo kasi may sisingit, bago ang pangalan. One trick of this group I have learned is they tend to lead you to some viral sites.

Best thing is to get all those downloadable applications to remove spywares, viruses, worms and bugs.

  81. Mrivera Mrivera

this threat could be done by someone close to the pidals and greatly showered with juicy offers. maaaring galing ito sa pidal security group (PSG), pidal national police (PNP)or armed forces of the pidals (AFP).

I do not know the names of the 700+ people that got killed. Everyone should have access to all these things. I want to be a part of it, and willing to spend time and resource to get it.

Johnmarzan, what was your intention of posting that one as if to tell us that other famous personalities in the US also received mail threats? That Ellen should ignore the threat? For sure, Ellen’s life is more valuable than these Americans. A better argument would be what would come out of this. There were also threats against Gloria and the Pidal family in this blog; but I don’t think these Malacanang crooks even bothered to check. Prayer is much better than threat. Let’s all pray that this illegal occupant of the Palace be terminated by God and never to be seen on this earth again!

  90. Ellen, Yuko,

Do you remember when I sent you an e-mail coming from an A1 source saying that this danielaperez was known to be the e-mail of Bansot jr?

I’m pretty certain that even if we are to be more than circimspect and say it may not be Bansot jr. who personally sent the e-mail to Ellen, it is probable that one of her hired fingers may have done it.

    Cherchez la femme!

  91. You bet! It’s like the Puto in Talsik who posts propaganda, and tries hard to convince people there to lick the ass of the Bansot!

The name she used to blog in was Nexmillie, then Daniela and now Buzzlightyear. You know where it’s coming from. The pattern is the same.

  92. Oui, recherchons le coupable!

Funny thing, though, Anna, is that this guy signed the note to Ellen with a male version of the name blogged in Malaya’s and other egroups at Yahoo.

If she is not the Bansot Jr., he/she must be a psycho—more dangerous than some prankster in cyberspace. Tawag diyan, Anna, stalker like the several names that are kind of stalking me in this blog! Pangalan pa lang sukang-suka na ako. That’s why I don’t bother to read them once I put them in my no-read list especially when the intention is to make one feel sick!

Fortunately, sick or no sick, we’re here to stay, right Anna?

  93. Absolutely Yuko! And like you, I believe there is nothing to be gained with sparring with jerks!

And yes, she’s been doing rounds at the blogs, all right, reciting her pro-Gloria mantra. Very “luli”.

I remember Anna said it here (http://www.ellentordesillas.com/?p=562) in the thread (before she and Toney Cuevas had a heated, all-out 3-day long debate) “Fil-Am Medic Follows Conscience; Reveals Cold-blooded Killing In Iraq”. To quote:

Begging your indulgence. (And calling attention of Yuko and Marvin!)

I just received this forward from a very good friend who is an A1 source about a cyberforum thread that has been going around regarding the Ombusdman. Here it is:

Actually, the reason why I’m posting this is because my very good friend revealed this: “This Daniellaperez all over the ofw forums now, specifically..ofw-gov… always trying to justify the actions of government.this must be her new email, actually she is the daughter of the pig-giraffe you desribed in your blog.. “

What are you talking about?! Absolute garbage! Education is actually one of the topmost priorities of the President and her administeration! You must have been living under a rock or something for you to say that she doesn’t want to fix our education system! It’s all she wants to do! From building more classrooms, developing the curriculum, employing more teachers, and the list goes on-the government has done nothing but ensure that our students get the best education they can!

Who else could have said that? It’s the same maniac who’s now threatening you, Ellen! Daniel1a (Daniella) Perez, or whoever is hiding behind that pseudo, is as “luli” as one can get!

Kaya if you remember, pinasikan ni Glue ang Spain noong siya ay dumalaw sa pagsasalita niya ng fluent Espanol kuno.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – A man was charged Monday with mailing more than a dozen threatening letters containing white powder to U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi, Jon Stewart and other high-profile figures.

Chad Conrad Castagana, 39, appeared in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles to face a two-count complaint of sending threats and hoax threats by mail, but he did not enter a plea.

Magistrate Judge Patrick Walsh ordered Castagana held without bail pending a continuation of the hearing Thursday.

    johnmarzan,

I explained it earlier in the post with timestamp November 13th, 2006 at 7:37 am (message #37344) that substituting the numeral “1” for the alphabetic “l” is a technique used in chatrooms, IMs, SMS either to avoid spam messages from those who fail to notice the difference or just simply trying to be different. I was already suspecting then that is was not a Daniel but actually a Daniella.

Yuko responded with message #37388 on November 13th, 2006 at 10:17 am quoting from a certain daniellaperez80 who had a very similar leaning.

I searched my archives and found Anna saying that a daniellaperez80 was said to be a pseudo used by the daughter of the bogus Queen. I also found in www, gov,ph that forum entry again, from daniellaperez80 that sounded very much like that of Anna’s, Yuko’s and that of Ellen’s. I posted both in #37683.

The point is, before my first post, everybody, including the news, were refering to the terrorist as a “Mr.”, or “Daniel” when all the while the intended name was really “Daniella”. I raised the point because of my early suspicion that the name was familiar, and indeed, it was. What good does it serve? Investigators do not have to limit their sleuthing to a “daniel” alone or they can probably trace the 4 blog posts coming from either daniellaperez80@yahoo.com or danie11aperez@yahoo.com.

Btw, the “80” in the first email addy, could most likely mean that she’s probably 26 years old.

    Behave, protesters warned

    November 15, 2006 09:46am

AS more than 100,000 protesters prepare to descend on Melbourne for this weekend’s G20 summit, Peter Costello urged them not to be disruptive or violent.

Major streets in central Melbourne have been declared no parking zones as authorities seek to remove the risk of a car bomb.

The protesters are expected to attend a major central city rally from midday (AEDT) on Saturday, prompting the total closure of some of the streets.

Mr Costello said the protesters must let delegates go about their business.

“It’s perfectly legitimate to make your point … but the important thing is that they’re non-violent and they don’t try and disrupt the meeting,” Mr Costello said on Southern Cross Broadcasting today.

Mr Costello also defended Australia’s aid record saying claims the nation donated less per head of population than any other G20 country was untrue.

“It’s absolutely false, because there are G20 nations that don’t get anything,” he said.

“There are G20 nations that not only give nothing, they actually receive aid.

“Australia is not an aid receiver, Australia is an aid giver.

“There’s very few other countries in the world that have lifted their aid by 81 per cent.”

Mr Costello also said Australia was a “world leader” when it came to debt relief.

“Australia has forgiven all debt owed to it by heavily-indebted countries – it’s a world leader,” he said.

“We’re so far out in front in debt relief, there’d be very few countries that have done as much as Australia.

“I hope the other countries follow Australia’s lead because we’re right out there in front.”

The G20 includes the Group of Seven industrial countries – the US, Germany, Japan, France, Italy, Britain and Canada – plus Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, South Korea and Turkey.

The European Union also is a member.

  124. Chi,

In my job as interpreter for these Colombian prosties in the police, I found out that they are much, much smarter than the Japayukis from the Philippines. BTW, they are not called “Japayuki” which is used only for the women being pimped by the Philippine government to Japan.

They are smuggled to Japan together with the drugs sent by the cartels. I guess it all started in fact with these women being used mainly as couriers rather than as prostitutes. Now, when they discovered that they could albeit as prostitutes, they have made arrangements with their yakuza boss to let them stay for at least two years, within which time they plan to save all that they can earn and then return to a life of comfort in their country.

Asking price is 30,000 yen for a short time sex, and they pay the yakuza a tenth of it, the rest they keep. They say they average 5 or 6 a night. Matalino pa ang mga ungas. When caught by the police, they used to reason out that they do not use their sexual organs so as not to constitute a crime. For that the prostitution law has been revised to include even anal sex in the category of prostitution or solicitation of sex for a fee. Customers are also now culpable of such crime.

LITO BANAYO, in his today’s column in Abante has to say this of Ellen.

P10,000 ang charge for short-time, doble for overnight.

Very well said, Ms. Soleil. Just believe in what God promises: If God is with you, who shall be against you. The Lord is my savior and protector.

umuusok na rin ang ilong ni soleil sa galit. heh he he heeh! nakatagpo ng katapat ang kulangot ni glutonia.

  140. Ellen,

Careful. Nasa likod mo kami. Siguro naman maraming mga bloggers dito na nandiyan sa Pilipinas ang willing to give you protection any time, any where Just holler. Ngayon pang nakatuon na rin ang mga mata ng mundo kay Pidal on how she is going to behave together with the hubby and the children.

As the old adage say, “Ang pumatol sa ulol ay mas lalong ulol!”

  144. In my previous posts, sabi ko kay Chi, iyong pipiyak, guilty! May pumiyak na ba? I remember being introduced to this Daniellaperez by one of the alter-egos of the stalker/s in this blog so that if she is not the Bansot Jr., she must be just one of these stalkers deployed here to mess up the discussion and make it look that Filipinos really cannot get their acts together and will never succeed in bringing down the Bansot who is trying hard to get the attention of the Dubya so she can brag that she is being supported by the US and her oppressive policies against the people of the Philippines. Simple lang naman. Nothing complicated when it comes to the mentality of this creep and her weirdos!

  145. Weirdos na hypocrites pa! BTW, Anna, did you get a reply to your inquiry?

  146. hi hi
