Hindi nakakatawa

Sabi ni AFP spokesman Maj. Gen.

Gabriel Habacon at iba pa?

Gen. Renato Miranda, Brig. Gen. Danny Lim, Col. Ariel Querubin, Col. Orlando de Leon, Col. Custodio Parcon, Col. Artemio Bañez, Col. Archie Segumallian at iba pa?

    Glueria is dangerously infectious.

First, she iniated a widespread election cheating that infected even the once prestigious nursing profession in the country.

Second, she always broke the rules of the constitution that made her Tongressmen believe that the Philippine Constitution doesn’t exist anymore.

Third, nahawa ng kurapsyon pati na ang mga korte and we had just witnessed a comedy of walang xerox at papel sa Department of Joke.

He’s now competing with the tv comedians dahil mawawalan na siya ng trabaho bilang senador.
This once excellent doctor turned out to be a total disappointment!

Star kahapon, Gloria is as healthy as the economy!

Like Glue, the economy is bloated with bad air, puro kabag lang ang laman, kapag tinusok iyan tuloy-tuloy na!

liver cancer? i thought you cannot make a liver transplant from a live donor lest the donor gets killed.

liver is one part of the body that’s hard to replace unless there’s a donor that’s just died. even then, there’s no assurance that the recipient will live.

if it’s true that gloria arroyo has liver cancer, she’s as good as gone unless of course, someone is prepared to sacrifice his/her own life to give gloria a new lease on life or if the doctors find a donor who’s just died – and on the condition that the donor’s liver is good.

perhaps, senator flavier is prepared to make this ultimate sacrifice. don’t count on mike arroyo – his liver isn’t any good. too much pork bile.

  6. Chi, TongueT:

Malakas maka-corrupt talaga ang pera. I was talking in another loop why I do not patronize the door-to-door that is illegal in Japan. Illegal kasi iyan dito sa Japan. Isang klase ng blackmarket iyan.

Japan has enough foreign reserves because there is no blackmarketing in Japan, and if there is, it is not as conspicuous as it is in the Philippines, and those engaging in it are mostly foreigners, especially Filipinos who are used to it.

“Everybody is doing it, so what’s wrong kahit mali?” is what we often hear these crooks say.

I bet you, Flavier is now the ecstatic senator because he is poor no more. But for me, one who patronizes a bogus president as he now does, must be as corrupt!!! I have met a lot many Philippine politicians, and very rarely can you find a man as honest, sincere, gentleman and consistent as Senator Pimentel. All the rest are for me questionable.

Sayang din si Enrile as a matter of fact. Magaling na mama a totoo lang. He does not even have to hang around the crooks with all his accomplishments kaya lang siguro na-corrupt na rin.

If I work with them, I make it a point that I’m treated as their equal rather than someone they try to dominate and treat like their servant, for I am not. It is one reason why I am not interested in getting into politics. I would not like to be treated like a servant which politicians are expected to be!!! I would not even want to drive for them when they ask me to take them around. I take them around on trains. Otherwise, I put them on one of the sightseeing tour buses.

Katwiran ko kasi, bakit sino ba sila? Believe you me!

  7. I doubt if the Bansot has liver cancer.

Come to think of it, baka kaya sumunod si Fatso ay nag-i-spy rather than having LBM for taking in the Diet Pills, too.
I wonder how much those who went there to wish her well are being paid for that!

Marumi ang isip? Can’t help it. These crooks deserve to be criticize as a matter of fact! Pwe!

Santiago calls for full Senate to tackle JPEPA
    By Christina Mendez

Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago called yesterday for the Senate to be convened into a Committee of the Whole to allow a plenary debate on the Japan-Philippines Economic Partnership Agreement (JPEPA).

The controversial agreement reportedly has a provision allowing the dumping of toxic wastes from Japan in the Philippines.

“The agreement has provoked nationwide controversy and requires comprehensive debate, since it contains 165 Articles that run to 933 pages,” Santiago said in a letter to Senate President Manuel Villar Jr.

  10. npongco npongco

Those Filipinos living in Japan should act on the above JPEPA project before it materializes. Instead of bla-bla and focusing on other countries, do something to the above project which is currently being cooked detrimental to the Filipinos. This is now the time for Fil-Japanese residents to really show they care about their motherland. Never allow the above project to succeed! Toxic wastes from Japan to be dumped in RP? My goodness!

  11. News item in today’s Philippine Daily Inquirer:

ARMED FORCES Chief of Staff General Hermogenes Esperon Jr. has formed the general court-martial panel that will try Major General Renato Miranda, Brigadier General Danilo Lim, Colonel Ariel Querubin and 27 other officers for mutiny.

The five-man court would be headed either by AFP Northern Luzon Command chief Lieutenant General Bonifacio Ramos or Southern Luzon Command chief Lt. Gen. Alexander Yano. Click here for the rest of news item.

Ibig sabihin, tapos na yong desisyon niya, Ang sabi nga niya: “Whatever it is, it’s still my decision”.

What else is new? In this administration, whatever they want, happens. Remember the Mayuga report? That was whitewashed too? The only thing is, they are forgetting that there is an ultimate judge up above. This may be God’s way of making the “queen” pay for her evil ways, with her health and all. Remember how Marcos got away with supposedly being healthy up to the moment he was about to die? Naunahan nga lang ng pagkakaalis sa kanya. Nobody ever told us that he was sick. It was just all hearsays. As a young kid then, I remember that he was on the news all the time trying to do something normal. “court martial” kuno! Sino ang niloloko nila? Sarili din nila di ba? They will have to live with their decisions in the long run. Let us just watch how they play their deadly games!

Honrado:”Esperon’s general court martial will be the best opportunity for the charged military officers to prove their innocence.”

1st: Honrado is not kidding. He is FOOLING. Didn’t he call those charged officers as “bad eggs?” See, he made clear that the accused are guilty already.

2nd: How can those accused officers find justice in a general court martial when in the first place they should have been out of detention? Articles of War 70 clearly indicated that arrests and confinement shall thereby be restricted to barracks, quarters or tent only AND NOT IN A PENITENTIARY. Best example is the case of Maj Aquino. Of all those who were accused, Maj Aquino was placed in a Bartolina for more than 4 months since February and was transfered together with Gen Lim in Tanay sometime in July–and yet he is only charged of the same offense with others. Can they expect justice?

3rd: Esperon is both the chief accuser and the judge as the sole approving authority. He can’t be fair and will never be. Until now, there is no official result of the PTI.

Lastly: GMA and Esperon and his henchmen will never allow these officers to be free even if the court martial will exonerate them all. WHY? The Declaration of the State of Emergency will not be justified. The state of emergency was clearly meant TO SUPPRESS the freedom of each and every Filipino. And the best and most convenient excuse is: “attempted coup”!!!

Esperon, Honrado et al—YOU ARE ALL LIARS. POWER HUNGRY MANIACS.

Just dropping by to point out some imperative and imminent concerns:
First, the lawyers are yet to receive a copy of the final decision of the pre-trial investigation lest we could not move for the next legal action. Unless of course he wants us to do illegal things but since we are more intelligent than him, we might as well act and think like intellectuals unlike this moron (spelled as E-S-P-E-R-O-N), who got an IQ of a pig.

Second, Esperon said those who are cleared will be out of the Tanay camp in a few days. In a recent visit in Tanay, the families of those soldiers who are cleared are still waiting for their better half to be released. So, what is really happening?

Third, the soldiers considered as “CLEARED” by Esperon know that they will be used by Esperon and they are NOT HAPPY ABOUT IT. LOW MORALE NA LOW MORALE SILA. They are worried because this is not the kind of JUSTICE that they want. For these soldiers, all of them should be cleared and those who need to be tried of the lesser offense should undergo the GCM.

    Will give more updates.

Btw, a friend from Reuters told me that Esperon is close to the MILF people…hhmmm..his conscience is there in Central and Southern Mindanao..Hmmmm….bakit kaya?

IFJ backs class suit vs Mike Arroyo

The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) on Tuesday added its voice of support to the class suit to be filed by Filipino journalists against President Arroyo’s husband after he lodged libel charges against 43 media practitioners.

Christopher Warren, IFJ president, said: “These numbers are disgraceful in a country whose government espouses a commitment to press freedom.”

Mr. Arroyo is seeking P141 million in damages from journalists who allegedly wrote lies about him.

The Brussels-based IFJ’s support for the class suit to be filed later this week followed a similar backing from the Southeast Asian Press Alliance (SEAPA).

IFJ and the Bangkok-based SEAPA are among foreign media organizations that signed a petition spearheaded by the National Union of Journalists of the Philippines demanding the decriminalization of libel. The others are the Committee to Protect Journalists and Reporters Without Borders.

The petition is scheduled to be submitted Wednesday to Senate President Manuel Villar. The Senate chief and some senators have vowed to help push the decriminalization of libel.

The IFJ said it was supporting the complaint, signed thus far by 42 of the 43 sued journalists, because of Mr. Arroyo’s allegedly “repeated abuse of outdated criminal defamation laws to silence journalists in the Philippines.”

    Mike is a public figure

The class suit, which many other journalists are expected to join as complainants, is based on Article 32 of the Philippine Civil Code. It states that any public officer or any private individual who violates or impedes the rights of another person shall be liable for damages.

The suit cited the freedoms of speech and of the press as basis.

Warren said the number of journalists sued by Mr. Arroyo, “who face jail terms for simply doing their jobs, is a shocking example of the way [he] abuses his power and position, shielding himself behind outdated laws, to influence and control the media.”

“Arroyo is a public figure, and therefore subject to public scrutiny; thus, it is in the people’s interest for journalists to be able to report freely,” he added.

“We challenge the Philippines’ government to set a higher standard of press freedom and support demands that Jose Miguel Arroyo be tried before the civil courts for obstructing the rights of journalists,” he said.

The Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility first committed to help the 43 journalists by contributing P100,000 for the filing fee of the class suit and other court fees when it is finally filed before the Makati Regional Trial Court.

“What is certain is the Center for Media Freedom and Responsibility [and] another journalist organization has committed P100,000,” lawyer Harry Roque earlier said.

Roque explained that the group can seek a bigger amount of damages if there is enough money to pay court fees when the suit is filed. As of now, Roque said his clients have yet to determine the amount of damages.

    Tribune Headline:

6 Defense execs seen siding with Nonong Cruz’s anti-people’s initiative stance

DND “crippled” by mass resignation of Usecs, Asecs

    By Sherwin C. Olaes

    11/29/2006

Instead of getting the usual get-well notes that she may have expected from her Cabinet members, President Arroyo yesterday, or just several hours after checking out of a hospital, was instead met by resignation letters from her top appointees at the Department of National Defense (DND).

Several days after the resignation of Defense Secretary Avelino “Nonong” Cruz Jr., his undersecretaries and assistant secretaries resigned en masse on Tuesday, virtually paralyzing the department, as a “show of respect” to Cruz.

That reason apparently meant that they have decided to side with the Defense chief, whose own resignation was reportedly prompted by his disagreement with Charter change (Cha-cha) through the so-called people’s initiative (PI) mode.

Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, during a phone patch interview, practically admitted that the department was “crippled” by the resignation of Undersecretaries Jose Santos, Cecilio Lorenzo, Aida Rivera and Raphael Santos and Assistant Secretaries Catherine Gonzales and Ricardo San Andres, who tendered their resignation letters to Mrs. Arroyo this month, or around three weeks after Cruz quit the Arroyo Cabinet last Nov. 5.

When asked what the condition of the DND was after the resignation en masse of its officials, Ermita said, “You’re asking if the Defense department was crippled?

officials) will continue to function as such, we will see to it that their departure would not create any disruption in the normal operation of the DND, they have assistant secretaries who would continue to perform assigned tasks.”

According to the Arroyo aide, Cruz, whose resignation takes effect on Nov. 30, had created a transition team composed of undersecretaries, including those who had resigned to ensure the continued operation of the department.

“I’ve been in the government for so long that that (mass resignation) is something (that I take as) a matter of course. In fact, I received a letter from (outgoing) Secretary Cruz where he named a transition team composed of undersecretaries. Those who resigned are still there in the transition team,” Ermita said.

He added the mass resignation of the DND officials was expected as a show of respect to Cruz.

“To show respect to their principal (Cruz), they thought that it would be better to resign. Yes, they have submitted their resignation letters but it is not automatic that our President will accept (them)… You can interpret their resignation as an action (borne) out of their respect (for Cruz). You might want to use the word ‘sympathy’ (that) they (may have) thought (of), it’s not unusual, they’re co-terminus appointees (similar to Cruz),” Ermita said.

Meanwhile, Malacanang was still mum on the appeal of Cruz for Mrs. Arroyo to appoint a civilian to succeed him as Defense secretary.

When asked to comment on reports that the President is eyeing her Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary and former Philippine National Police chief Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. to the “juicy portfolio,” Press Secretary and concurrent presidential spokesman Ignacio Bunye also yesterday said the ball is in the hands of the Chief Executive who will decide on the matter.

Ebdane had been tagged as Mrs. Arroyo’s alleged pointman in the fraud-marred 2004 elections and had allegedly played a key role in hiding former Commission on Elections Commissioner Virgilio “Garci” Garcillano from the prying eyes of the public at the height of Mrs. Arroyo’s impeachment case last year.

Bunye said the President intends to stay as acting Defense chief from Nov. 30 this year until Jan. 30 next year, adding Mrs. Arroyo is not in a haste to appoint any individual to the position.

Whether a civilian or a retired police-military official succeeds Cruz, he added, is not important to the President as she is looking for one who will sustain the Defense Reform Program initiated by the outgoing DND chief.

Bunye stressed that they have no “ill grudge” against Cruz and that they still do not know why Cruz resigned.

He said Mrs. Arroyo does not intend to hold office at the DND in Quezon City as she has control over the headquarters’ operation though she holds office in Malacanang.

This month alone, several officials under Mrs. Arroyo resigned from their post, such as Philippine National Oil Corp. chief executive officer Eduardo Manalac, who quit his post a few days before Cruz left.

Cruz resigned purportedly after Malacanang accused him of influencing the Supreme Court justices into junking a PI petition.

He was a co-founder of the reputedly most powerful law office in the country, dubbed as “The Firm,” — the Villaraza Angangco law firm.

Ha! Ha! Ha! It’s a circus of comedy in real life! Saan pa, you’ll find an incompetent clowns, but in Malacanang, the House of the People. Bogus Gloria’s gang of performers will surely put Barnum and Bailey to shame. Imagine these are the same people that has been entrusted in running the country pretending to be qualifiied to know their stuffs, sa Pilipinas lang ito. Anyway, it’s good that we can still laugh to keep our sanity inspite of bogus Gloria’s doggone incompetency, and arrogance behavior to produce bunch of clowns in the govt.

Mass resignation of top officials in the defense department is a big surprise-KUDETA in disguise. Mrs. Gloria Arroyo is caught flat-footed and General Ermita is run-out of tricks to imply that Malacanang is in control of the situation.

Diego, the anti-GMA forces that include the disgruntled soldiers are just waiting for only one signal…from Uncle Sam. That’s the only remaining factor why this Gloria is not yet ousted. I’ve long been saying about this US and CIA factor but some just don’t want to believe it. In her recent 10 or 9 minutes meeting with Bush, Gloria could have only assured Bush of her government’s contineous odedience and submission while Bush assured her of America’s contineous protection. This renewed assurance and commitment didn’t have to take an hour to discuss…so 10 minutes was realistic. In the meantime, the GIs are now in Mindanao by the thousands…rape victim Nicole’s case is kept hanging…and Bolante is enjoying the legal privileges and protection in the US.

  38. Diego K. Guerrero Diego K. Guerrero

When is the proper time to oust Gloria Pandaka? A possible CIA scenario in case of Gloria Arroyo‘s graceful exit is to be picked up by U.S. Marines helicopter for emergency liver transplant in Guam Island. The nine minutes Arroyo-Bush alleged bilateral talks has accomplished nothing. According to Press Secy. Ignacio Bunye, the Mindanao problem is one of the centerpieces in the alleged meeting. Mrs. Gloria Arroyo lied again about bigger U.S. participation in Mindanao peace talks. Perhaps lame duck U.S. President George Bush is more on focus how to diffuse all-out civil war in Iraq and disturbed by the rise of leftist leaders in South American countries.

US won’t take part in Gov’t-MILF peace talks–envoy
November 28, 2006 Updated 19:01:07 (Mla time) Julie Alipala Inquirer
ZAMBOANGA CITY — United States Ambassador to the Philippines Kristie Kenney said her government was not trying to meddle in the peace negotiations between the Philippine government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
She said the US had no interest in being part of the actual negotiations. “The US is not part of the negotiating party. The two parties [MILF and GRP] are under the Malaysian auspice and we don’t want to change that,” she told the Inquirer during a one-on-one interview here on Thursday.
Kenney said she had issued the clarification in the light of reports that the US was seeking a bigger role in the government-MILF peace talks.
Press Secretary Ignacio Bunye had said that President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and US President George Bush had agreed, during a meeting at the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Hanoi, Vietnam on a wider US participation in the peace process in Mindanao.
He said this was part of efforts to help the Philippine government come up with a final agreement with the MILF.
The peace talks, which hit a snag over the issue of territory, were expected to resume after the government presented a revised proposal on the Bangsamoro juridical entity to the MILF panel.
Kenney said the US participation would only be limited to “creating the conditions of peace in Mindanao.”
“We see ourselves being really helpful and I really like to think that it’s more of peace dividends, you know, offering development projects like medical missions in areas that have been previously combat areas, kind of what we did in the case of the [Moro National Liberation Front] and we like to do that. More schools [to be built] and put up Internet [facilities], help people get the benefit of having peace,” she said.
Mindanao Representative Mujiv Hataman had warned that a broader role for US in Mindanao could stir hostilities and create more terrorists.
Citing the experiences of Iraq and Afghanistan, Hataman said there would be “more dissents, more domestic, and political upheavals” if the US would be allowed to have a bigger role in the peace process.
“Has the US government crushed the terrorists in those countries I mentioned?” he asked.
Hataman noted that nothing had changed since American soldiers were deployed in Mindanao in 2000. “Terrorists are still roaming freely,” he said.

Update on the court martial trial of 30 officers:
Solcom chief to chair trial of 30 ‘plotters’

ARMED Forces chief Gen. Hermogenes Esperon has appointed Southern Luzon Command chief Lt. Gen. Alexander Yano president of the general court martial that will try 30 Army and Marine officers linked to failed coup last February.

Esperon said he appointed Yano, a member of the Philippine Military Academy class of 1976, to head General Court Martial No. 2 because of the officer’s outstanding reputation and sense of fairness.

General Court Martial No. 1 trying dozens of junior officers involved in the short-lived July 2003 Oakwood mutiny that was mounted by officers who were protesting alleged rampant graft and corruption in the military.

Esperon said he chose Yano because he is senior to the highest ranking accused, former Marines commandant Maj. Gen. Renato Miranda, who was Esperon’s classmate in the PMA class of 1974.

Told that Miranda is from the PMA class 1974 and he has more years in the service, Esperon said, “Rank is all that is required, regardless of their source or year of commission.”

“Second is, of course, the reputation of General Yano for even-mindedness, fairness and sense of justice,” said Esperon.

Before he assumed as Solcom chief early this year, Yano was commander of the Army’s 2nd Infantry Division. Before that, he served as Army chief of staff and commander of the AFP Civil Relations Service and concurrent spokesman.

Esperon named Col. Marian Alledo as the court’s law member. The other members of the court are Rear Adm. Emilio Marayag; Commodore Fortunato Sagudo Jr., Brig. Gen. Raul Caballes, and Brig. Gen. Salvador Collantes.

Miranda and his companions are facing charges ranging from violations of the Articles of War (AW) 67 or mutiny; of AW 63 or disrespect towards the President, Vice President and Secretary of National Defense; of AW 65 or willfully disobeying a superior officer; of 96 or conduct unbecoming of an officer and a gentleman and of AW 97 or conduct prejudicial to good order and military discipline.

Apart from Miranda, the other prominent officers who are going to be tried by the Yano court are former First Scout Ranger Regiment chief Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim and Medal of Valor awardees Col. Ariel Querubin and Lt. Col. Custodio Parcon.

Yano said the court may be convened in a few days.

“We have not assembled yet the members. Maybe within the week, we will assemble all the members,” he said.

He said it was only yesterday that he got the names of the other members. – Victor Reyes

The next couple of weeks should be interesting with the congress pushing their change of rules, despite what they preach its not for the benefit of the citizens and country, but truth is its for themselves.
At the same time the AFP pushing to convict against fellow officers even when there is no evidence.
Both of these events are happening only to please GMA. Nobody in the congress majority or in the AFP soldiery has the moral standing to refuse to obey and abide by the law.
Both congress and the AFP have become corrupt sheep, they are devoid of any respect to the constitution.

  51. Mrivera Mrivera

sana lang, itong si general alexander yano ay hindi katulad nina asoperon at tolentino. mas kilala niya ang integridad ni general danny lim dahil pareho silang combat unit commanders noong 1980’s sa 1st infantry (TABAK) division, philippine army, jolo, sulu, samantalang itong si tolentino ay assigned lamang sa division support unit. alam niyang under the command of then 2nd lt. lim, nakuha ng Forward Reconnaissance Unit ang hindi maakyat akyat na Bud Daho, ang pinakamatibay na tanggulan ng MNLF sa buong sulu island. deploying mostly igorot troopers, inakyat nila ang 180 degrees na gilid ng bundok, caught the enemies in surprise and neutralized them without any casualty from our side. a mission accomplished through proper planning, sheer guts and determination and love of service.

What if General Yano is also promised a Chief of Staff position and a cabinet position thereafter? Do you think he will turn down the opportunity? Or maybe given a portion of the one billion pesos supposedly earmarked for military modernization. I have yet to see a general who keeps his integrity as he ascends into the hierarchy. I hope he will be the first one to stand up for what the Philippine Military Academy (and all other military institutions)has always inculcated in their graduates.

  55. Mrivera Mrivera

parasabayan says: “I have yet to see a general who keeps his integrity as he ascends into the hierarchy.”

psb, tama ka rin sa isang banda. pero masasabi rin natin na kapag ang isang flag officer ay humahawak na ng alinmang major service branch ng armed forces, mas malamang ang pakikialam ng mga nasa malakanyang sa pagpapatupad ng mga dapat sundin hanggang sa pinakamababang ranggong kawal. pinamihasa kasi at naging tradisyon na ang ganito kaya nga hindi maisaisangtabi ang “supremacy of the civilian authority over the military in war or in peace” which is also stated in the code of conduct of the filipino soldier.

  56. parasabayan parasabayan

Mrivera, the cheating in the elections to insure Arroyo’s victory was done by high ranking military officers. The one who whitewashed the report on the election rigging, clearing the generals who were involved in the fraud was another high ranking officer, Mayuga( who by the way thought he had a shot at the Chief of Staff position at the time he made the report public but sorry na lang siya, Assperon got it first mainly because he was “crying” when Arroyo announced that she was not running for the presidency again-crocodile tears! ). Is this called “the supremacy of the civilian authority over the military…”?. I beg to disagree on this “code of conduct”. If your civilian superior is so rotten, wont you make a stand to be on the right side? Maybe I can never be an officer in my lifetime because right is right and that is that! If there should be a code to be revised, maybe this is one of them-not the constitution!

  57. Vendictimus,

Phd.

I agree with you Chi. I think the mother is more sensible in all these. She does not like him to join politics. Let us just enjoy watching him fight. It will be a disaster to see him run an office without the due credentials. Politicians should have all the aspects of being a leader, he may have the heart to do it but he may be too good to stomach what it takes to be one.
