Faeldon’s advocacy

I’m pleasantly surprised to see the website of Marine Capt. Nicanor Faeldon (www.-pilipino.org.ph), one of the Magdalo soldiers currently detained at Fort Bonifacio, updated.

I suppose someone is doing it for him because they are not allowed internet connections in their detention quarters.

Faeldon’s website was set up immediately after he escaped on Dec. 14, 2005. It became a phenomenon in the Philippine blogging community because just a few weeks after it started, it crashed due to the heavy volume of visitors. Even after a lull since he was captured on Jan. 27, 2006, the site has recorded over a million visitors.

From recent posts, one can sense that Faeldon’s advocacy has gone up to another level. The patriotic fervor is as sharp as ever. His intellectual, even spiritual, growth is evident. The masthead now carries a Biblical verse from the book of Sirach: “Stand up for what is right, even if it costs your life.”

I noticed that “Pilipino” is registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (No. CN200008847). Its stated vision is for a united and empowered people. To achieve that vision, Pilipino will work for the raising of national consciousness .

Here’s the Q and A from the site:

Q. What is the national consciousness?

A. The national consciousness is a vision that is the product of the pooled dreams of a people committed to work for the realization of their dream.

Q. What differentiates it from other goals of other political groups?

A. The commitment of the people to work for their dreams. There will be no national consciousness unless the people commit to the vision. The goals and visions of other political groups are dreams, to which not all the members of the group are committed.

Q. What differentiates Pilipino from advocacy groups, civil society organizations and political parties?

A. The commitment of their present core of leaders not to run for public office, or to continue heading the organization once the vision has been attained. The National Executive Committee as it is presently comprised is made up of people who are committed to pass on the leadership to the next generation of leaders once these are ready.

Q. Is the national consciousness based on any ideology?

A. No, there is no other ideology behind the national consciousness other than the dreams of the people. The national consciousness is based on Filipino values of self-sacrifice, hope, hard work, willingness to trust in other people, courage, and persistence.

Q. Can such unity be attained, considering the constant bickering in politics?

A. It depends on us. It depends on our willingness to sacrifice our self-interests, to work for our dreams, and to defend our future.

Q. How will the national consciousness be formed?

A. It will start with dialogue. The writing and photo contests are part of the ongoing dialogue with the people on their dreams, what these are, and which ones they will commit to.

Q. How can we define our dreams?

A. By asking ourselves, by thinking about the future, by evaluating the present and holding both our leaders and ourselves accountable for what our leaders do. By remembering that acts of omission – such as choosing not to speak out against graft and corruption – are as bad as acts of commission.

Q. Can this be done within our lifetime?

A. It depends on us, on how soon we can unite and gather the resolve to fight together.

Q. What will happen once the national consciousness is attained?

A. Then the people can move as one. One problem with reforming government is that the reforms are always painful. Unless the people are committed to their dreams, they will protest the painful decisions. This is where self-sacrifice comes in, for the pain of reforms is easier to endure when one knows that everyone would willingly make the same sacrifice once it becomes necessary.

Q. What can we do to help attain national consciousness?

A. You can start discussing with your friends and family what future you want, and what you are willing to give up to attain that future. You can join the writing and photo contests. And you can organize within your community adherents who will dream with you, and work towards the attainment of that dream.

Pilipino has launched an essay writing contest “to help shape and define those dreams”.

There will be two categories: fiction and non-fiction. Entries for the fiction category may be in English or Filipino. The entries should answer any or all of the following questions:

Only those entries which answered any of the three questions above will be accepted for judging; entries, no matter how good, original, and creative, which do not discuss the national consciousness will not be considered.

Three cheers for this captain of the Philippine Marines:

    Q. Is the national consciousness based on any ideology?

    A. No, there is no other ideology behind the national consciousness other than the dreams of the people. The national consciousness is based on Filipino values of self-sacrifice, hope, hard work, willingness to trust in other people, courage, and persistence.

This is truth, take away people’s dreams and hopes and the country will degenerate as what we are experiencing under the fake president!

The Pinoy values mentioned above have already been shattered by the very leader claiming to be the president of the land.

Sacrifice for what? So that Unano will continue to plunder the country of it’s resources! Hope? Pinoys have almost already forgotten this word because the Unano obstructs the will of the people and jails honorable men to hinder significant changes!

Hard work? The farmers toil to death to put food on the table while the Unano pocketed the almost P8M ferilizer fund thru JocJOc Bolante. More and more pinoys are sent overseas to work in order to sustain the Unano’s capricios (yeah, pinoys are working hard in foreign lands because there’s no better opportunity in the Land of the Rising Sun under the fake president)!

Willingness to trust in other people? Huh, can we trust the Unano, Pidals and their minions placed in every sector of our society? Poverty dictates holdups, snatchings, akyat-bahay, kidnaps, etc! Even kids are killed because of cellphones!

Courage? For what, to be encarcerated and killed! Courageous men of honor are put behind bars and militants are killed without questions! Journalists who are true to their callings are sued for libel by the gluttonous Pig Fartso!

Persistence/perseverance? People don’t get support from this fake administration to persist on doing something. We saw that the government of Unano did almost nothing when Seniang hit Bicol and burried hundreds of poor people, the oil spill in the Visayas, etc, etc. Unano’s government is despicable!

MABUHAY KA Marine Capt. NICANOR FAELDON for reminding us of these values that the Unano destroyed, which some noble pinoys like you are trying hard to save for the sake of pinoys and PILIPINAS, ANG BAYAN NATING LAHAT!

Pichay pushes for legislation to protect vegetable industry

Team table industryUnity senatorial bet Rep. Prospero “Butch” Pichay has vowed to push for legislation that would protect and promote the vegetable industry of Benguet and the Cordilleras, amidst the influx of cheap vegetables from other countries.

Instead of us lowering our moral value, we need to re-visit it of how can be improved. Of how, and what are the standards that acceptable as a civilized nation. Everything should be put into perspective. I don’t condone Faeldon for what he did, but I also hold him responsible as a professional soldier and his duty to his country, he swore an oath to the flag and to the constitution of the Republic. The OATH when provided by a professional soldiers or any elected officials and their right hands on the bible, MUST MEAN SOMETHING. There must be accountability!

    Chi;
I want to add something in your comment.
    “Araw-araw ay Ramadan”

  6. His answers were actually good. vague, but good. The literary contest is also interesting…

I have to make a correction, however, the visitor counter does not count unique visitors, but pageviews. I refreshed my browser and it recorded a new visit each time…

    Chi, excellent, excellent post.

Ok, Faeldon did what he think is best for the country, so we accepted him and lowered the standard made him a hero, and three, “hip hip hurrah.” But, we rejected illegitimate Gloria and Angelo Reyes for the very same crimes. Why is that? We really need to search deep, are we really helping the very cause that we are trying to uphold in our society? Would it be any difference in high school or college when the school lowered the standard as the passing grade to meet certain ethnic group(s)? Are the schools really helping all students in general or just specific group(s)? Would that be fair asummation? If we won’t hold Faeldon responsible for what he did, how can we hold illegitimate Gloria for subversion and election fraud? Or Angelo Reyes for treason? And how about next time when it happen again, shall we make an exception to what side that certain individual will be, anti-Gloria or Pro-Gloria? Is it the way to run a fair system? As I see it, if we are to more forward, we shall judge each individuals crimes committed, and not if the such individual is belong to Unity Ticket of
    Genuine Opposition.

My two cents worth, I don’t care for Genuine Opposition as political name. Nothing genuine about Philippines, we copied and/or tried to emulate others as the way we go about our way of life.

  9. Actually, all Faeldon’s queries and answers are what our progressive groups have been espousing. Unfortunately, people still believe the so-called Red Scare. The continuing AFP propaganda prevents our society from evolving where contrasting belief can be a tool for progress and reform.

Some would paint communism as leading to a a dictatorship and yet we allow this administration to curtail our civil liberties with impunity. One would sometimes wonder if indeed the Communist threat is still alive or if those in the hills had evolved and discarded the Maoist ideology.

I’m quite sure that those in the movement only want social justice and an equal opportunity. They know very well that Communism has been dead and even the holdouts have slowly changed and is accepting a more liberal stance.

Unless, we the people accept the fact that social reform is the key to peace, all we dream of will never materialize. There are still those who view the armed struggle as a way to topple tha government when in fact, they are raising awareness to their plight.

The government continues to prevent our people from expressing their sentiments through BP 880. Student activists are killed and farmers abducted.

Faeldon is the epitome of a true defender of the people. He recognizes what the people long for. He understands the true sentiments of those in the marginalized sector.

“Ramadan” is a month of observing (Saum)fasting. It is celebrated on the 9th month of the Islamic calendar last week of Nov.and first2 weeks of December.During “Ramadan” no sex and only fasting. These is what happening to our brave Magdalo soldiers who are incarcerated. They are celebrating like “Ramadan” everyday and it is a pity.
“Ramadan” is a noble occasion to every Moslem. It is an act of sacrificing.

  11. The difference between Faeldon and Company and Glueria and Company is legitimacy. Faeldon and Company fought and still fighting against an illegitimate regime, while Glueria and Company came to power by illegitimate means—remove a legitimate regime, and a president voted by 83 percent of the voting public. Faeldon and Company were caught before Election 2004 when the creep cheated, lied and plundered the treasury to have herself winner versus the more popular candidate, FPJ, who died with a broken heart!!!

God willing, these brave men in uniform will soon be free upon removal of the creep from her august position, and continue to defend truth and right which they should in fact be doing instead of fighting for such!!! There is in fact a big difference between defending and fighting for truth and right!!!

BTW, Kiko is no longer with the UNO, and it is final. GOOD RIDDANCE IT IS!!! The guy must be reading this blog! So, please continue berating him in the loop on him para malaman niya kung bakit hindi siya puedeng manalo ngayon!!!

IBASURA ANG ADMINISTRASYON! IBOTO ANG OPOSISYON! GO 11+0!

  12. By asking ourselves, by thinking about the future, by evaluating the present and holding both our leaders and ourselves accountable for what our leaders do

And here are the tough questions:

(Q1) Do Pinoys have an ethic of thinking?
(Q2) Do we have foresight that allows us to think of the future instead of the here and now?
(Q3) Do we have an ethic of holding leaders and ourselves to account?

And here are the even tougher answers:

(Answer to Q1) No. We elect morons to office rather than critically evaluate their platforms and ideology.
(Answer to Q2) No. Our pathetically low savings rate relative to other East Asian countries — even those that are poorer than us — is a testament to our short-sighted consumerist fiesta mentality.
(Answer to Q3) No. Our approach is elect them, then forget about them. For example, we are so fond of deriding Congress for failing to impeach Gloria back in 2005 yet fail to remember that those congressmen/senators we love to hate were elected by the people. We claim to love democracy but at the same time tremble in the face of the power of the masses to elect morons into office.

Further more, El Kapitan also says this:

One problem with reforming government is that the reforms are always painful. Unless the people are committed to their dreams, they will protest the painful decisions.

Do Pinoys have a track record of committing to achieving their objectives? We even have a word for our pathetic inability to commit to seeing things through — ningas-cogon.

We do not have a Tagalog word/phrase for “efficiency”, yet we have one — and a well-known one — for our chronic lack of commitment.

It is easy to cheer the lofty ideals of Faeldon. I just hope that we are reflective enough to see the real challenge underlying his noble words, which he in fact emphasises:

National consciousness an ability to pull ourselves together into a collective entity (score so far: ZILCH)

Trust an ability to develop an ethic of working together that is underpinned by a mutual understanding that the other party will not screw the other. As a reality check, look around how we surround our houses with high cinderblock walls, erect fences around our subdivisions and post armed guards at their entrances, and implement monstrous checks-and-balances in our bureacratic and busienss processes. score so far: ZILCH)

Though about the future; in other words foresight. Do we have that? Look around again. Look at the way we throw trash into our streets, our storm drains, and our oceans. Look at how we routinely tolerate the denuding of our forests. Look at the way we elect morons to public offices. Look at the way we multiply like rabbits and leave entire generations of half-parented youths to fend for themselves while we work overseas to make up for our lack of foresight while we procreated like there was no tomorrow. (score so far: ZILCH)

Commitment. Give ourselves a reality check today. How is this current situation and the things happening today different from what’s been done in the past since 1986? Same old politicians, same old quality of discussion, same old shallow debates, and same old “revolutions” and street antics. Are we really committed to change? Change requires deep and carefull self-reflection and deep thinking. If something is too hard, chances are the solution lies there. (score so far: ZILCH).

    Benigno,
Your line says; ourselves, we and us. Have you come to a reality check that you included yourself? Do you now realize that you are a big chunk of what you call the ZILCH?If something is too hard, chances are the solution is right here.

  15. Your line says; ourselves, we and us. Have you come to a reality check that you included yourself? Do you now realize that you are a big chunk of what you call the ZILCH?If something is too hard, chances are the solution is right here

    .

That’s right. I included myself. It seems that’s something you don’t come across too often, does it? 😉

  16. Toney Cuevas Toney Cuevas

    BenignO:

It’s good that you’re keeping the scorecard, kinda remind many of us here where we stand as a nation. Most obviously, we’re not doing so hot with the “zilch” as the batting average. Needless to say, we need much improvement in all areas, economically, socially and politically. Now that you cited the symtoms, and the lack thereof, may you now suggest and provide all of us here, if you will please, of how to go about improving those you cited, such as “National Consciousness”, “Trust”, “Though About the Future or Foresight” and “Commitment.”, it will be most appreciated.

Once again, I’m glad that you brought up things that has been missing in our country. It’s a wake up call for all of us here. Let me say this, personally, I agree with you. Many thanks.

  17. BenignO & Toney:
Of course most people will agree with you BenignO but but usually any serious nation is led by its leaders by Eample :-
NATIONAL CONCIOUSNESS by its leaders ZILCH!
    TRUST amoung the leaders ZILCH!
THOUGHTS ABOUT THE FUTURE, commitments by our leaders ZILCH!
COMMITMENT from THEM to truth of extra judicial killings ZILCH1
A good enough example is the past six years of poor leadership, constantly changing their minds mid-stream, telling lies to confuse the truth, no need to look fifty years down the track.
Its easy for them to lay blame with the masses when they the leaders of society are failing to lead by example.
So let’s start with the administration, replace them, stop knocking the people until you get real leaders in government. Enough is Enough.

  18. So let’s start with the administration, replace them, stop knocking the people until you get real leaders in government. Enough is Enough

    .

Think again. This is a democracy we’re talking about here, remember? In a democracy who is actually responsible for “replacing” government officials?

    – 😀

  19. The people have their chance to change them in May, and I really think changes for the better will be made. Government should set the standards for the people to follow and be prepared to follow the standards set. This government can’t even follow the Philippine Constitution!

  20. parasabayan parasabayan

Benigno, in a clean election, the people can pick and choose leaders but under this administration, votes were rigged. Now, how can you solve that? When money and power prevail over the people, how can you conteract that? When obviously, this leader is hard bent to hang on to her power using everything and everyone she can muster, how can you counteract that?

  21. Benigno, in a clean election, the people can pick and choose leaders but under this administration, votes were rigged. Now, how can you solve that?

    .

Are you therefore saying that in a clean election, Pinoy voters will vote wisely?

    That’s a big assumption there. – 😀

  22. apoy apoy

Democracy is not the voting but in the counting.Of a hundred people, the 51 can railroad the human rights of the other 49 and yet, we call it a democracy.Talk is cheap but not in the congress. If pro is the opposite con, then congress is the opposite of progress. The youth is doomed for they inherit the national debt.Strong economy? I agree.
But the architect of the strong peso is also the plunderer of the economy. I rest my case.

  23. Toney Cuevas Toney Cuevas

I think we are discussig something when we already know the answer. I say that because of what happened and the track records of the past election. What’s an election without cheating, that’s very un-Pilipino. And what really who we are selecting to represent the very interest of the people? It really doesn’t matter what party wins, whoever it will be still the same promise to the people what they’ll do for them, and really what they’re promising is how fast they can get rich. All I can say lets not hold our breath. In my opinion, we already have those people in-placed that we suppose to trust and fight for the rights and the well being of the people, yet they failed us. New faces will not matter.

  24. If you saying that the Pinoy voter’s didn’t vote wisely in 2004 why do you think the Garci tapes and the AFP leaders were exposed and above all why the “I am Sorweeee” television showing to the whole nation.
I am sure the Pinoy voted wisely in 2004, but more to the point the Pinoy won’t allow another cheating to be made in May 2007 without demonstrating their anger. The Filipino won’t be caught out by this cheating administration machine a second time.

  25. Toney Cuevas Toney Cuevas

The only way we’re going to replace the present illegal administration is not true democratic electoral process. Ain’t going to happen. But, “…the right of the people peacebly to assemble and petition the government for redress of grievances”, for whatever how long it takes at the gates of Malacanang. It’s the only way to rid of any corrupt illegal politicians, people must not be timid, yet demand. I don’t see any other way at present atmosphere in the Philippines, it would be just a waste.

  26. Toney:
    “New faces will not matter”
I’m sure you don’t mean that otherwise what’s the point in discussing the election candidates.

  27. Toney Cuevas Toney Cuevas

    wwnl:

I hope you are right, no cheating in May 2007. At least, not the second time? However, I believe, every election there were cheating. In 2004, it was caught on tapes with clear evidences admissable in any court of law in a civilized nation, yet nothing has been done. No one went to jail, no one was charged or prosecuted, instead the cheaters were rewarded. Ain’t amazing system?

  28. Toney:
One Million warm bodies, I agree with what you say, but it appears not many others agree with us. Its the only way to repair the damage done to ALL institutions positively.

  29. Toney Cuevas Toney Cuevas

    wwnl:

I do mean it sincerely, it’s the very point of my argument. It really doesn’t matter about this coming election or the candidates when we supposed already have those type people in congress. Yet, they’ve been silenced all these years. I expect a lot especially from Mom and Son Estrada, they both were dissapointing, in my opinion. They both just taking up spaces and just going through the motion all these years. If you can’t depend on those two who else would you trust for the rights of the small people?

  30. goldenlion goldenlion

Really? that’s good news!!! i will visit it right now!!

  31. Toney Cuevas Toney Cuevas

    wwnl:

I’ll campaign for the “One Million Warm Bodies” but not another politicians with promises and false hopes. We’ve seen enough of those politicians and it’s now the time for the people to be counted at the gates of Malacanang and not at the polling places, thats illegitimage Gloria’s turf. Lets not give in to her. Hit her where it hurt!

  32. Toney:
I remember the two of us banging on about the One Million warm bodies outside the Palace Gates for as long as it took. When the church took up the Congress railroading and challenged the government with organising a demonstration for the people to express their views. I realised this was a chance that One Million could find their way to the Palace Gates. The government obviosly thought this was a possibility also and did a quick about turn!

  33. Toney Cuevas Toney Cuevas

    wwnl:

It’s still my greatest wish for the “One Million Warm Bodies at the very gates of Malacanang that will attract international attention. Since, illegitimate Gloria and the leeches family of Arroyo already bought this coming election by the people’s money, including judges, comelec, generals, armed forces, PNP and et al. May election is a far gone conclusion. The only way to beat illegitimate Gloria now is to attract others outside our shores. That’s illegitimate Gloria’s vulnerability, global attention. Five full days at the gates should do it.

  34. Toney:
Part of my previous posting today “Pinoy won’t allow another cheating to be made in May 2007 without demonstrating their anger.” shows that as much as I want a clean election to take place, I don’t really expect one because the administration have no other alternative but to cheat if they want to stay in power.
As a result of any election cheating this time I do expect One Million outside the Palace Gates demonstrating until this administration stand down.

  35. How can we talk about national consciousness when we are still having a hard time understanding our national identity, if we have one?

How can we have a collective vision of the future without having a collective understanding of the past?

How can we offer first world solutions to third world problems?

How can we trust the masses if we dismiss them as morons and arrogate unto ourselves the collective wisdom of the Filipino nation? Maybe, the masses know something middle and upper class Pinoys don’t…

Masasayang lang ang advocacy ni Capt. Faeldon knowing that in our present society, there is another government controlling the fake government.

Sisirain muna nila sa pamamagitan kuno ng sinasabi nilang Federalism through some hocus-pocus.

Mismo ngang si Marcos kahit baluktot ang tagalog dahil ilocano siya ay nagsasalita ng tagalog or what is not more appropriately called “Pilipino”!

Ihambing natin ang TFC – In The Service of the Filipino (if he can afford to pay) at ang Vietnamese, at Thai Radio/TV networks na nasasagap ng kanilang mga mamamayan saan man sa mundo- walang bayad.

Faeldon…”

Bakit masasayang? An idea is never wasted. Don’t be cynical. Remember the Biblical parable about the sower. Some of the seeds he sowed fell on barren land and got dried up but some had the forune of landing in fertile soil and grew to become a tree.

That’s the same with good ideas. It may be ignored by some but even if just one person imbibes it, he becomes a vessel for its propagation. It’s worth it.

  46. In a way, it’s a good idea that any military officer who believes that the country is being waylaid by a group of piggy civilians in government decides to run for public office.

Problem is they are at an enormous advantage – campaign logistics.

But on you go lads – take ’em to the gutters, challenge them, beat them, bury them is what I say.

  47. Ellen,

Politics and military never made for good bedfellows.

More than ever, because of what this Tiyanak is doing, our military is even more politicized – for these young lands to want to go into politics to make their grievances be heard is excellent but that kind of modus operandi cannot last because the military as an institution risks never becoming professional.

Anyway, I don’t score these young officers for joining the political fray, after all if former Communist and NPA sympathizers/hardliners are allowed to become members of a Congress Party List, why not the military?

P********nang Gloria ‘yan! She and Esperon supot are transforming the military into one giant MILITICS octopus!

  48. Nelbar:

Nakakahiya!!!

  49. Ka Enchong,

Allow me to try putting a definition to Pinoy national identity? Di ba Pinoy identity is being Pinoy at heart and mind?

A national identity can be defined – whatever or however one wishes to define it for as long as he is or she is, i.e., Pinoy by birth by heritage, by cultural values, by education, by affinity – all of those put together.

Say, you love your country, Pinas – that is already a clear response to the question of what or which identity you wish to give the Pinoy identity.

Any Pinoy born who thinks he loves his country, the country of his birth has already defined the Pinoy identity.

Actually, to me, asking if there’s a Pinoy identity is a false question. Perhaps, the better question is “How might one re-enforce the Pinoy identity.”

    That’s IMHO only of course.

  50. chi chi

    Golberg,

Naniniwala ako sa lahat ng sinabi mo, except para sa akin ay walang sayang na adhikain, advocacy or vision for the good of the country and people.

Ang lahat ay nagsisimula diyan even if they’re not realized for some ‘controlled’ reasons, sapat na na merong mga taong katulad nila na nagpapaala-ala.

Great thinkers, great minds will never die!

  51. In opposition, they may look Pinoys in appearance but my nephews and nieces and my children, for instance, no longer can lay claim to Pinoy identity because they were not Pinoy born (in Pinas), not educated in Pinas, have no affinity with Pinas even if they meet Pinoys abroad (less so for my children who meet Pinoy relatives once in a blue moon), are culturally different from their Pinoy cousins or relatives in Pinas.

Kawawang bansa! PATALSIKIN NA, NOW NA!
IBASURA ANG ADMINISTRASYON! IBOTO ANG OPOSISYON! GO 11+0!

I agree Ka Enchong. It’s the duty of every Filipino citizens (overseas and locals) to counteract abuses in the government. The Filipino people elected their representatives in the government and put in trust peoples’ resources on them. In most cases, public trust is compromised for personal interest and advantage. Public officials can no longer distinguish between personal funds and government funds. There’s no silver bullet to stop the culture of corruption. It’s very complex problem.

It is the function of the citizen to keep the government from falling into error. Robert H. Jackson, Associate Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court, 1950

This nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth. Abraham Lincoln, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, November 19, 1863.

“Think again. This is a democracy we’re talking about here, remember? In a democracy who is actually responsible for “replacing” government officials?”

As usual, wrong conclusions based on the wrong premises. Typical of the ego masturbator, if you will, who is physically and maybe, mentally, out of touch with “real” reality. Not HIS reality.

Democracy isn’t when a Top General asks for one million bodies for them to replace one legitimately-elected president.

Democracy isn’t when battle-geared storm troopers assault a Provincial Capitol to replace a governor for an unliquidated P20,000 cash advance while another billionaire governor who is worth virtually nothing per his SAL, has P200M unliquidated and even makes it to the administration Senate slate!

Democracy isn’t when a DILG Secretary-Ombudsman combo acts as complainant-jury-executioner and in one fell swoop, replaces all but two elected local executives of a metropolitan city for the flimsy charge of impropriety.

Elections are held in the country, no debate on that, but serving in your elected position NO LONGER relied exclusively in getting the most number of votes.

With this government, you even have to make sure, first, that the people tasked with guarding AND counting your votes actually do so! Second, you must dance to the official tune, cuz if you don’t, your post will be taken from you. Lastly, you think you can get justice if you are unjustly replaced? Hardly, this government doesn’t even respect the courts, if it did, all its agents would be in jail.

Democracy score for this gov’t? ZILCH.

  62. Valdemar Valdemar

Nice to be at the van, reading the sentiments of the habitues, and its fun. Ramadan is fasting during the day and feasting the rest of the day. Faeldon must have lifted his advocacy from King. I agree with him and most of the above. Its the dream that keeps us alive but dont we have to do something other than asking some of the 69 commentators above just to vote? Everytime a door-to-door evangelist visits me I would ask first what good thing has he done for the community for the past week. And he would insist to read verses… well, I am glad their people in the US are picking up what I mean and now they start going to the outbacks to find out whats wrong with the governance.

  63. Golberg Golberg

    Chi Ate Ellen:

Faeldon sa listahan ng kayang advocacy ay yung “Reign of Christ the King in our Society.”
Manuel Piñon, they no longer have what we call Moral Theology. What they have now is Tae-ology.
“Reign of Chirst the King” Magandang adhikain.
Faeldon na siya ring gagawin ng sinoman na magiging presidente, I will be more than willing to put my life on the line to protect and defend my president who glorifies God. I will more than willing to step forward and defend my country against its enemies.
Chi, Ate Ellen, Capt. Faeldon’s advocacy is right but I do think he missed something which is very important for that advocacy to flourish well.
    VIVA CRISTO REY!

    Nelbar,

May pinagkaiba ito: Doing the right thing and doing things right!
