    Merry Christmas to all!

    Let’s pray that our Men of Honor still in prison will become physically free, as they deserved to be, in the new year.

    Let’s pray for the true soldiers (civilians and in uniform) that they may continue to fight for truth and justice for the sake of our beloved Pilipinas.

  22. Serenity Prayer

    God grant me the serenity
    to accept the things I cannot change;
    courage to change the things I can;
    and wisdom to know the difference.

  23. A CHRISTMAS CHEER

    I understand you. Oftentimes its so frustrating to see defeat after defeat…But try to look at it this way, it took us 20 years to get rid of Marcos and 300 years to get rid of the Spaniards before that, now we are not just facing one person – GMA, but a whole mob, a highly organized, politically sophisticated, morally bankcrupt organism, that uses the rule of law to their advantage, flaunting our very own constitution as an instrument of oppression.

    It is not one person but the rule of numbers, they could rapidly close ranks to protect themselves and effectively counter any threat to their way of life. They know who oppose them, but we don’t know who they are mostly, they can sacrifice their own, awake sleepers in our midst, and most of all they’re weapon of mass illusion -”learned helplessness,” a psychological weapon they expertly wield over 80 million people, reducing most to apathy and inaction.

    Those who have the intelligence but are paralyzed in fear choose to rationalize their role and would tell us to “move on,” its part and parcel of politics, and politics is the norm, in any country, in the world, ACCEPT IT, resistance is futile.

    Do not lose hope, to defend ourselves against this weapon is first to acknowledge it, understand it, and see the whole picture as a “battle for the minds and hearts” so don’t give in to frustrations, don’t lose heart. You have come a long way in life yourself, I’m sure you’ve hurdled many obstacles personally, and you have several personal victories to speak of.

    Try to draw strength from these personal victories and shine as your light will inspire others, the light that shines as you liberate yourself – will inspire others to liberate themselves. Do not be afraid, be a light in the darkness no matter if its just a small spark for now, believe…

  24. SULBATZ SULBATZ

    SULBATZ: Sulbatz to Sulbatz1…what’s the situation there?

    Ser, all is clear.

    SULBATZ: Very well, now can secure and back to base.

    SULBATZ: Merry Christmas to One and All!!!!

    Nilinis lang muna namin ang paligid para sa matiwasay nyong pagsalubong sa kaarawan ni Jesukristo.

    bakit kaya?
    hindi naman ako isang nagbabalatkayo katulad ng mga kunyari ay ayaw kay gloria arroyo subalit makikita’t mababasa sa kanilang mga kuro kuro na ang kiling nila ay huwag mapaalis sa puwesto ang salot na dahilan ng pagdurusa ng sambayanang pilipino!

    Sa inyong lahat, sana’y naging Maligaya ang Pasko.

    Sa OFW, na binibilang ang mga araw bago umuwi, nawa’y umigsi ang panahon ng paghintay, at humaba ang mga sandali kapiling ang mga mahal sa buhay;

    Sa DH, na nag-aalaga sa anak ng ibang tao, gayung hindi man mayakap ang sariling anak, nawa’y makatapos sa pag-aaral ang inyong mga anak, bilang gantimpala sa inyong pagtitiis;

    Sa mga seaman at mga NPA (no permanent address – hindi ako commie gago) sa America, na nag-iinuman upang malunod ang pangungulila; na tumataas ang tagay kapag naririnig ang “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” ni Elvis; o kung bata man, ay lumalakas ang lagok tuwing naririnig si Karen Carpenter na bigkasin ang mga katagang “Merry Christmas Darling. We’re apart that’s true. But I can dream, and in my dream, I’m Christmassing with you..”, nawa’y mapawi ang pangungulila niyo;

    Hindi kayo nag-iisa. Ang kainuman ko, yung isa, katorse pa lang ang anak nang siya’y umalis, beinte-kuwatro na ngayon. Tapos na sa pag-aaral; tapos na rin ang kanyang kabataan, na hindi man napag-saluhan ng mag-ama. Lumipas na ang graduation sa high school, ang saya ng balitang natanggap sa mabuting colegio, at ibang mahahalagang yugto ng kabataan.

    Yung isa, musmos na otso anyos ang anak nang iwanan, ngayon ay nasa colegio na. Salamat kay Alexander Graham Bell, isang munting aparato – ang cellphone, ang siyang naghahatid ng pagmamahal ng ama, sa ipinangungulilang anak.

    Mapait man, ay may saya na rin, dahil naitaguyod muli ang isang taon. Konting tiis pa. Hindi man nayakap sa paglaki ang mga anak, babawi na lang sa mga apo.

    Lilipas din ang lungkot, Ngunit ang ligaya ng alaalang nagsasakripisyo kayo alang-alang sa mga mahal sa buhay, ay mananatili sa puso, hanggang pagtanda. Wala daw gantimpala ang pagmamahal, kundi ang matutong magmahal. Sa larangang iyan, walang hihigit sa inyo.

    Maligayang Pasko muli, sa inyong lahat. Nawa’y makamit ninyo ang mga pangarap niyo para sa mga anak.

    Mabuhay!

    juggernaut: Thanks for all words of inspiration. Someone had mentioned “fear of the unknown”. We all have that–however, if we let fear get the better hold of us we can’t move..this reminds me of “algebra” we had to solve the unknown..let “x” be..and many feared the subject…and some failed..at ang sabi..mahirap ang “algebra”..but there are those who were challenged and they solved the problem. I have no dramatic “personal” victories kasi laging saklolo ko ay prayers..particularly sa Holy Spirit..and the Serenity prayer that you mentioned. If we find peace in ourselves (individually) we will collectively have peace as a people..Christians, Muslims, Jewish, etc. Christmmas is Hope..we thank our blessings today and hope that we make tomorrow a better day..and it all depends on us..and to what you said above…AMEN!

    to con’t: Do you know the poem “Be the Best of Whatever You Are”? My father taught us this and my favorite lines..”we can not all be captains, some have to be crew..we cannot all be leaders some have to follow..but whatever role you take be the best of whatever you are.” My first year here in US..when Martin Luther King was made a national holiday..I heard that this too was his favorite poem..napaiyak ako kasi I remembered my father…the author is unknown but it is a beautiful poem..

    Ito pala.. Be The Best of Whatever You Are – Douglas Maloch
    If you can’t be the pine on the top of a hill..Be a scrub in the valley, but be the best little scrub on the side of the hill..Be a bush if you can’t be a tree, if you can’t be a bush be a bit of a grass..And some highway happier make..If you can’t be a muskie, then just be a bass, But the liveliest bass in the lake..We can’t all be captains, we’ve got to be cruew, There is something for all of us here..There’s a big work to do and there’s lesser work, too, and the work we must do is the near..If you can’t be a highway, then just be a trail..If you can’t be the sun, be a star..It isn’t by size that you win or you fail..Be the best of whatever you are..

    Sa lahat ng mga magigiting at matatapang na taga Ellenville, Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

    To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
    A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
    A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
    A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
    A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
    A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
    A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
    A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.
    Mabuhay po kayong lahat.

    Masaya na sana ang pasko,kaya lang may mga tao talagang makasarili.Kung nanood kayo ng WOWOWEE ay siguro agree kayo sa comment ko doon sa larong bigatin.Ewan ko ba may mga tao talagang walang pakiramdam sa kapwa at kulang ang pang-unawa ng dahil lang sa kasakiman sa pera.Ang ibig kong sabihin ay iyong isang babae na maganda naman ang katayuan sa buhay dahil maayos ang pananamit ay pinatulan pa iyong mga walang tirahan at inagawan ng change para magkaroon ng kaunting suwerti na maglalaro sa pasalog.Nakakakunsumi talagang ang mga ugali ng ibang pilipino,kung sana pinagbigyan na lang iyung nagtutulak ng kariton para mabuhay na maglaro sa pasalog ay baka sakaling makuha niya ang jackpot at di sana masaya ang pasko ng mga kapos na nakatira sa lansangan.Kung minsan naiinis akong manood kung ang mga contestant ay mga balikbayan,pinapayulan pa nila ang mga player sa bigatin at sasabayan pa ng sayaw at kinukuha ang sampung libo.Ano bang klasing mga pilipino na mayroon tayo.Bago nilaro ay ipinakita na ni Willy ang buhay nila sa lansangan,itong isang babae ay nakuha pang agawin sa kanila ang kaunting grasya,sana ay pinagbigyan na niya para mas masaya.Torpe talaga!

    Anong tulong ang aasahan ng mga nakikipagsapalarang sa lansangan kung sa kapirasong pag-asa ay aagawin pa sa kanila.Ganyan ang pagkamuhi at pagkainis ko kay Gloria doon sa babaing umagaw ng pag-asa sa WOWOWEE hindi na nga siya nakatulong sa paghihirap nila ay aagawan pa.Iyan ang sinsabi ko na kailangan ng pinoy ang attitude change.

    Rose, that’s a very deep Hiligaynon word usually spoken/ written in central parts of Negros Occidental and Iloilo. the meaning is actually “prosperous”.

  62. Here’s something from my childhood I haven’t heard for a long time.

    Kasadya ning táknaa

    Buláhan ug buláhan

    Awit nga halandumon,
    Ug sa tanang pasko magmalípayon.
    Bag-ong tuig, bág-ong kinabúhì.

    Atong awiton ug atong laylayon
    Aron magmalípayon.
