Arroyo finally gets invitation to White House after 2004

Gloria Arroyo is set to go to the United States for a state visit on June 24 to 25.

Aside from meeting President George W. Bush, Arroyo is also scheduled to address the US-Asean Business Council.

The talk is that Arroyo will witness the signing into law of the Veterans Benefits Enhancement Act by Bush.

This will be Arroyo’s second state visit to the US.

The first was in 2004 before she pulled out the Philippine contingent from the US-led Coalition of the Willing in Iraq in exchange for the freedom of kidnapped Filipino driver Angelo de la Cruz.

That incident has displeased the U.S. She had been wanting to visit the White House again but got only this invitation, a few months before Bush’ exit from the White House.

The veterans act (S. 1315) seeks to grant $300 a month to some 12,000 non-service Filipino WW II veterans living in the Philippines.

The Senate Thursday noon passed the pension bill by a vote of 56-41.

Bush promised Arroyo at last year’s Asian Pacific Economic Conference (APEC) leaders’ photo op that he would sign the bill once it reaches his desk.

In Washington D.C., Ambassador Willie Gaa said that S. 1315 is not really a bill on the Filipino veterans but an omnibus bill that covers all other veterans.

Former Philippine presidents Cory Aquino and Fidel Ramos have been strong supporters of the pension legislation.

Aquino authorized the establishment of the Office of Veterans Affairs in Washington D.C. and approved a bill with pension to Philippine-based veterans, starting at P500.

Ramos approved a bill that increased this pension on a graduated basis, setting the cap at the current P5,000. – Ellen Tordesillas and Jennie Ilustre

  1. let’s hope Bush ask her about her executive order on a suppossedly development plan which is actually an excuse to sell VMMC. A hospital built by the US government and donated to the Filipino Veterans with stipulation that it cannot be sold or alienated.

  2. bitchevil bitchevil

It looks like an invitation but is actually being called to the White House to receive further instructions and order.

  3. Valdemar Valdemar

The hospital will not be sold, only the land under it. I am glad the govt can make money to pay at least what it owes the AFP retirees and families. Many families have not been reimbursed death benefits some decades ago yet. What happens with the hospital? They will transfer it to the Libingan ng Mga Bayani. Thats where the retirees will go anyway. No need to staff it with doctors and program medicines anymore. A lot of savings.

  4. chi chi

this must be a continuing ill-stroke of bad luck for hard-working and honest Americans who does not deserve a profoundly inept president in the person of Bush.

considered internationally, and even by his own countrymen, to be the worst and disgusting ever to occupy the White House; inviting a counterpart even more hated in her country, does not bode good tidings for the next president who is set to replace the oilman from Texas comes November.

if Barack Obama gets to the White House (i hope he will), or any other, he must bring with him hordes of shamans, and exorcists to help drive away and pacify the bad spirits that Gloria would doubtlessly accompany in her visit.

looks like the fake president have bought her way in, to be invited, with stolen funds from the treasury of an impoverished nation; Bush, by again agreeing as host, confirms everybody’s fear that he is a certified moron.

it is likely, the Tiyanak, offered him tons of people’s money to fill-in the floundering campaign kitty of GOP partymate McCain, in exchange for glossy photo-ops ‘Kano yata ‘yan suckers back home.

  10. To see is to believe.

  12. It’s a trap!

She will be arrested once she steps on American soil. On Aug. 10, 2006 Pres. Bush said in his speech:

At this year’s G-8 meeting in St Petersburg, my colleagues joined me in calling for strengthened international efforts to deny kleptocrats access to our financial systems and safe haven in our countries; stronger efforts to combat fraud, corruption, and misuse of public resources; and increased capacity internationally to prevent opportunities for high-level public corruption. Today, I am announcing a new element in my Administration’s plan to fight kleptocracy, The National Strategy to Internationalize Efforts against Kleptocracy, which sets forth a framework to deter, prevent, and address(!) high-level, public corruption. It identifies critical tools to detect and prosecute corrupt officials around the world, so that the promise of economic assistance and growth reaches the people…

Of course, George Bush may be as corrupt as Gloria but US Presidents have this long tradition of keeping their word on many global issues especially on those that feed their Big Brother egos with the most fantastic Hollywood-style scenarios.

If there’s any fireworks this jerky-spittin cowboy wants to climax his previously so-so performance with and turn it around, this is it!

    Go gedd’r, Georgie Boy!

  13. And while you’re at it, why don’t you invite the First Gentlepig, too, huh, Dubya?

  14. You, George, know of course, once she starts giving away plantation lands in Mindanao to the Chinese, the American giant Castle and Cooke’s vast pineapple lands will be pygmied by province-sized Chinese farms!

  15. Tongue: And while you’re at it, why don’t you invite the First Gentlepig, too, huh, Dubya?

    *****
First Gentlepig?

I bet, the bitch won’t even mention the names of Cory Aquino and Erap na sumuporta sa bill na yan.

  17. chi chi

Bush, the lame duck president of the US invites Gloria Arroyo, the dead duck walking president of the Enchanted Kingdom.

Bush is a “certified moron” indeed, giving in to the blackmail of the bitch. Imagine, it’s all over the news that Americans are now loading up their pantries because of the food riots in the third world countries that include Pinas. The pResident Evil must be very proud of herself shaking the food supply that triggers fear even with the American people.

  18. chi chi

NFA buying sends global rice price to record $1,200.
    http://www.tribuneonline.com

This is so insane of Gloria sending price of rice worlwide to cover up for her kababuyan. And the bitch seems to enjoy and get away with her zarzuela. Wow!

  19. rose rose

Chi: you are right..walang kinalaman si Gloria nor Bush sa Veterans benefit na ito..I remember marching with the NAFAA group of Loida Lewis..in front of the White House in support of the Equity..and Clinton was the US President and I think Erap (or maybe Cory) was for the PI..Macapal gal talaga siya..

  20. rose rose

Wala bang rally to “welcome” her when she comes? Sana mayroon…

  21. chi chi

    Rose,

Thanks for joining the rally in support of the Veterans Equity Bill, my Dad will be richer by $300. hehehe! But he is sad because only very few of them are still alive to benefit from it. He told me NO thanks to Bush and Arroyo (specially this rider bitch), it just so happened that they’re the ones sitting. Those who should be given a giant thank you card, he said, are the veterans in the US and people like you who pressured the Congress to act on it. Ang tagal ng lobby.

If there’ll be a rally in D.C., I’ll try to join, malapit lang naman kami dun.

Would she take a stroll down in New York on the footsteps of her father? Her father strolling with the wife, as the joke went, was accosted by the hooker he failed to get the night before, with “Look what you get for five dollars!” Glory takes after much of her mother.

  23. chi chi

Ha!ha!ha! Was that just a joke? Baka totoo. No wonder Mike is taking the woman Toh in his strolls along the avenues of SF.

  24. rose rose

Chi: It took that long for the US Pres. to sign the Equity Bill..sa mga Veterans (from Jersey City) na nagmartsa noon apat na ang namatay since then..and they are
getting fewer and fewer…sana they will get their benefits and enjoy them…soon…
Daughter like Mother! Ano kaya si Loli?..Oh lol..eh? Sumpa ng langit?
Tongue: How can we, here in the US remind Bush of that speech? Election will be in Nov..I hope the Gabriela movement here or some other group could start working on this..The Phil. Independence Day Parade in NYC will be June 1- perfect timing for a demonstration or distribution of flyers down Madison Ave…in preparation for her coming…the Phil.-American Friendship Day Parade in Jersey City will be on last Sun. of June and between the two Sundays is the Parade in Passaic..

was just reading a while ago one of the features at Yahoo! homepage. says “Bush’s routine comedy”: President Bush makes fun of Obama, Clinton, McCain, and himself at an annual dinner…

. . . hmmmn, that meet up with GMA must have been made in the same spirit. he must’ve realized just how pleasing it would be and how honorable it would make him look like to be in the presence of somebody whose leadership track record sucks so much worse than his ;)… well, jÜst a thought.

  26. OK talaga si Obama. There was that skit with Jon Stewart when he asked Obama what would happen to Hillary if he was nominated as the official contender against McCain. He said something like this, “She may still be there fighting me for the nomination!” OK, di ba?

For all you know, Obama spent part of his molding years in Indonesia, because his stepfather was Indonesian. He should have a better understanding of Asians than his opponents.

  27. Chi: No wonder Mike is taking the woman Toh in his strolls along the avenues of SF.
    *****

Sa liit ng ungas, mukhang bata and/or unano pag nakatalikod!

  28. Chi:

Hindi naman kinumbida ni Bush si Gloria. Nagpakumbida lang si Punggok. Publicity stunt lang ang balitang iyan about Bush dying hard kuno to meet the Unano again.

Namilit in the other words. Napilitan iyong emissary niya sa US na makakuha ng slot for her visit kasi baka masesante. We should know. Trying hard din siya dito kasi na makumbida ulit especially with Japan having a new Prime Minister.

Hindi na nakakataka as a matter of fact. Siyempre, iyong mga nasa ibang bansa, nakikibagay lang naman lalo na ngayon na kailangan ng Tate ng mga kaibigan with China trying hard to take the US’s place in world politics.

  29. Rose:

  31. dandaw dandaw

Anybody that is a big money donor to either Democrats or Republicans is invited to the White House for photo ops before the President leaves his office. Clinton invited all his criminal friends and he even pardoned some of them. Lets hope that in this case Gorya will be reprimanded by Bush on her mismanagement of the Philippines and her human rights abuses. 1000 Filipinos were dead under the rule of Gorya. No human being can ignore this.

  32. Buhay pa ba sila Sens. Solarz at Lugar?

  33. george george

So this runt from Malacanang finally got another invitation from Bush before he checks out of the White House, huh? I wonder what the anti Arroyo Filipino community in Washington have at stake for her. I bet she’s right now preparing her speech for the US Asean Business Council. I’m quite certain she’ll never fail to mention the so called 7.3 percent “growth” in the Philippine economy. Would someone among us bloggers (preferably one with a profound knowledge of the current economic issues) send this above mentioned council the real score (backed with factual statistics) of the Philippine economy? I’m hoping that Gloria would experience hearing “ahems” or the audience snickering at her speech just to knock some sense into her skull. If I were one of her listeners, two things are possible. First, I may be the first one to initiate heckling. Next, I might not be able to help but puke right there and then. No kidding, but by just looking at Gloria’s face, my stomach already churns. Acid build up, right? How much more would you guys think I’d feel when I start hearing this distinct voice, nasal twang and all, lying to her teeth! Goodness gracious! This son-of-a-gun Gloria is capable of giving people ulcers. I mean it. Now I can’t think anymore. See?! I’ve to pull myself together and log on some other time. I’m out of patience.

  34. chi chi

Ha!ha!ha! You already got an ulcer by just thinking of the bitch ha, George.

Kaya ako, I practice breathing.. IN….OUT. IN…OUT. IN…OUT. The final OUT is visualizing Gloria being thrown out to the core of hell where she belongs.

  35. dandaw dandaw

To the bloggers, please don’t lose sleep over this pandak, she is not worth your health. Remember, she is a liar, a cheat and a human rights abuser, short of a murderer. No human can escaped the wrath of justice with that kind of record. Be patient because all of them will answer heavily for their crime to the “core of hell” as chi said. As far as I know, Logar, Boxer are still alive. You know the right place to write about the abuse of Pandak is Bill Oreilly of Foxnews, Oreilly@foxnews.com, Cavuto@foxnews.com, Hannity@foxnews.com, GlennBeck@cnn.com, http://Boxer.Senate.gov, http://feinstein.senate.gov, PresidentBush@whitehouse.gov.

  36. george george

Well, Chi, not ulcers. Not yet! But I’m suffering from hyperacidity and it sure acts up when I see and hear her on tv or when I read about her in the papars. My bible teaches me to love our enemies and I’m having a problem dealing with this. At times I scream at the top of my head insulting words she rightfully deserves. Now this is true, I’ve never hated anybody more than this Gloria Arroyo. To cite an example, I believe you too have to contend paying for bills, right? We just had a 4.39 peso per kilowatt hour increase that took effect last March 12. We’ll be having another increase coming very soon. How’s that for an update? When I received our latest electric billing, I almost flipped! I have no choice but to have my two daughters sleep with me and my wife to save quite a chunk on our electric bill. I’m quick to put the blame on this corrupt administration. The dollar has considerably gone down and we do pay the oil we import in dollars, right? How come it didn’t even create ripples as far as the oil issue is concerned? Although the price of crude has risen, why does Gloria allow oil companies to raise their cost the very next day? Have they (the oil companies) used up all their inventory as soon as the world price of crude oil has jacked up? Oil companies have been complaining that the’re operating at a loss and have no recourse but to increase the price of oil related products. How come oil companies have been consistently in the top ten corporations (with the exception of San Miguel Corp. and Jollibee Foods) if it were really the case? Why does Gloria allow it? I believe she has to pay back favors owed for contributions made during the 2004 elections. As you very well know, everything points to Gloria. And I’m not yet talking about Mike Arroyo”s being involved in oil smuggling. This family is bringing the country down to its knees. We’ve got to take this evil family out, Chi. First by hyping up anti Arroyo talk with peers, relatives, mall sales personnel, to just about any Filipino we believe whose lives are directly affected by this corrupt administration. We should go a step further, outside of this blog. We have to increase in number. It has been said, “there is strenghth in numbers” and no matter how few we may be now, tomorrow is a different story.
Goodness, I’m sorry for yacking long. I’m sure you’ve known about all this even before I told you about it. Got carried away again. Checkin’ out now, Chi. Time for my antacid pills. No kidding.
