The Las Piñas Boys Choir was announced as the world champion in the Children’s Choir category.”

He said the whole Las Piñas Boys Choir team rushed to the stage, the Philippine National Anthem was played and the Philippine Flag was raised.

The LPBC is expected to arrive tomorrow (Wednesday).

Las Piñas Boys Choir was founded in 1969 by Reverend Father Leo Reinier, (CICM, who was assistant parish priest in St. Joseph Parish.

Fr. Leo believed that the Bamboo Organ could achieve the fullness of its being as an instrument to praise God only, when there is a good choir to put into words what the music conveys. With this in mind, he started recruiting young boys between 8 and 12 years with potentially good singing voices from the parochial as well as public schools in Las Piñas. Choir members are all enrolled in St. Joseph’s Academy where they enjoy scholarships earned through engagements and performances. They also perform regularly at the St. Joseph Parish Church.

  4. Ellen,
Pamangkin ko si Vincent Gregorio. Namatay ang lolo niya a few days bago sila umalis first week of July.

Congrats Vince and co-members, your Lolo Nanding will be proud of you.

  5. Congratulations! These boys are really the country’s pride.

St. Joseph Academy should be commended for continuing to nurture the choir.

My nephew is now a college graduate. Together with other graduates of the Boys Choir, they formed a Men’s Choir. Nakakatuwa itong mga bata.

  6. Wow, galing! They look like they are having a great time. They deserve it.

  7. Congrats to the members of this choir!

Heheh.
