Noong isang linggo napanood ko na umiiyak si Pokwang sa “Wowowie” ng ABS-CBN. Dinedepensahan siya ni Willie Revillame sa panlalait na ginawa sa kanya ni Joey de Leon sa “Eat Bulaga” ng GMA-7.
Sinabi ni Willie na sa isang show raw ng “Eat Bulaga” sa United States, tinawag ni Joey si Pokwang na “aswang”.
Kahit naman sinong tao, hindi dapat tawagin na aswang. Lalo pa si Pokwang na isang magaling at kagalang-galang na entertainer. Ikinuwento ni Willie na may namatay na anak si Pokwang at ngayon ay may isa siyang anak na yan ang rason kaya talagang kayod si Pokwang.
Hindi nga naman maganda ang epekto noon sa bata marinig na sinabi ang kanyang nanay ay aswang.
Gusto ko si Pokwang. Mahalata sa kanyang pananalita sa TV na mapagkumbaba siya. Ang kanyang tagumpay sa showbusiness ay nag-papatunay hindi ka kailangan matungis ang ilong o malaki ang boobs o maganda para kang sumikat. Talento ang mahalaga at meron siya noon.
Kaya naman nag naghanap ang Coca Cola Tigers ng muse, hindi sila kumuha ng beauty queen o kung sinong bold star na lima singko na sa dami. . Si Pokwang ang kanilang muse at naging stand-out nga siya.
Sa TV, news ang aking sinusundan ngunit may sinusundad din akong mga telenovela. Nagandahan ako ng Pinoy Dream Academy.
Maganda ang format ng PDA dahil hindi siya ordinaryong singing contest kungdi sa paghubog ng isang singer talaga. Halatang-halata ang improvement ng mga “scholars” mula ng sila ay nag-simula hindi lamang sa pagkanta o pag-perform kungdi sa kanilang personalidad.
Si Laarni na mataas ang boses, nabawasan ang kanyang pagka-insecure. Ganun rin si Bugoy na dati ang lakas ng inferiority complex.
Ang laki rin ng improvement ni Iñaki na natanggal noong Sabado. Dati ang yabang-yabang ng dating niya. .Nag nalagay siya sa probation, na-humble siya at lumabas ang kanyang soft-side.
Ang ganda ng papel ni Poy, ang honorary scholar, na naka-positive ng personality. Pumasok siya sa kalagitnaaan ng contest para hamunin ang mga scholars na lampasan siya kung hindi, magkaroon ng pagkakataon na baka siya ang magiging champion.
Maliban kay Ryan Cayabyab, ang galing ng ibang mentors na si Director Joey Reyes at Kitchie at ang kanilang taskmaster na si Monet. Pati ang nanonood, natututo sa kanilang lectures.
At siyempre ang galing ng mga resident jurors na sina Louie Ocampo at Gerald Salonga. Dapat i-permanent judge nila si Isay Alvarez.
Wala akong alam tungkol kay Pokwang ni sa gunigun, at talagang “Kahit naman sinong tao, hindi dapat tawagin na aswang”.
Si Gloria Arroyo Pidal lang naman ang tinatawag kong aswang dahil hindi naman siya tao kundi “hybrid” na animal at demonya!
Hahaha, chi. Yan nga ang tunay na manananggal.
Ito’ng JOEY DE LEON na ito ay talagang walang pinagtandaan!?! nakakahiya sya!?!
Ano ba namang pangalan iyang “Pokwang?” Eto pa isa, “Bugoy?” Okay, “what’s in a name,” pero bakit ba tayong mga pinoy e napakahilig sa mga pangalang ganyan? Parang ma-complex na kung papaano. Hindi tuloy maiba ang stage character sa pagkatao ng performer. Tayo lang yata ang gumagawa ng ganyan.
Kailagan baguhin natin iyang gawaing ganyan. Di maganda iyan.
Please tell Pokwang not to get hurt by Joey’s insult. She’s a lot lovelier than the Evil Bitch in Malacanang.
The PDA is reaching its final. My bet is these three will be in the Finals: Liez, Bugoy and Laarni. I think it’s gonna be a battle between Liez and Bugoy for the Final. Laarni will be third. If not for her weird attitude and being unpopular with her fellow scholars, Laarni has the best voice. Another fond to watch are the “Little Dreamers”.

I don’t watch much noontime shows but I do get a glimpse though of Willie, Mariel, Valeri, and Pokwang. Somehow I don’t like this Joey, never liked his jokes then and I still don’t.
It must be challenging making people laugh even at your expense as a way of life, but then I believe they’re the ones laughing all the way to the bank at the end of the day…
Actually, Joey is no different from Willie. Both are street comedians. I used to admire the Vic, Tito & Joey Trio. But now that Tito Sotto is GMA’s shit, I’m dumping the group.

Miriam Santiago is also in a fighting mood. She filed a resolution inquiring about the health drugs anomaly involving a former senator (could it be Juan Flavier?). Flavier was a Malacanang ally and it was GMA who allocated the funds for the purchase of drugs. Getting back because Miriam failed to get the International Court election which GMA promised?

Pokwang was a vendor outside of Antipolo Church. Her success does not stop her from remembering her friends there. She often visits them in Antipolo just to say “hello”.
