Let the trial begin

Former AFP chief Hermogenes Esperon will be the first to take the witness stand when the court martial of 28 officers accused of mutiny in connection with the February 2006 alleged coup attempt starts.

At the pre-trial conference yesterday, Col. Feliciano Loy, head of the prosecution panel, told the court that he will be presenting 20 witnesses who executed affidavits on the alleged plan of the officers to withdraw support from Gloria Arroyo following the” Hello Garci” expose that showed her masterminding the manipulation of the results of the 2004 election in Mindanao in her favor.

Esperon was then army chief. His affidavit submitted to the panel that investigated the incident related the meeting with then AFP chief Generoso Senga the night of Feb. 23 where the accused officers talked about the restlessness in the military over the loss of confidence on Arroyo.

Loy said although Senga didn’t execute an affidavit on the incident, he will also be called to the witness stand.

Senga has been named ambassador to Iran.

Other officers who will be called to the witness stand include former Air Force Chief Lt. Gen. Jose Reyes; former Flag-Officer-in- Command Mateo Mayuga, who has kept secret up to this day the results of his investigation of alleged military complicity in the 2004 election fraud; SouthCom commander Maj. Gen. Nelson Allaga, who was then deputy Marine Commandant; and Deputy Chief of Staff Maj. Gen Rodrigo Maclang, then assistant chief of staff for intelligence.

Loy also said he will summon four media persons including ANC’s Pia Hontiveros, who interviewed Marine Col. Ariel Querubin during the Feb. 26 Fort Bonifacio standoff, and Time Magazine correspondent Nelly Sindayen who wrote that on the night of Feb. 23, 2006, the political opposition met at the house of Jose Cojuangco Jr., brother of former President Cory Aquino, and confirmed the coup plot. Cojuangco, however, is not with the opposition. Cojuangco and his wife, Margarita, are officials of the Arroyo administration.

Defense lawyers led by Vic Verdadero, counsel for Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim, objected to the plan of Loy to call more witnesses who would be mentioned in the course of the testimony of affiant witnesses. He said that would defeat the purpose of the pre-trial conference to avoid surprise witnesses.

Next hearing is set on Sept. 30. Let the trial begin.

Let the trial begin and let’s see if this will not be another show trial with GloriaAsspweron orchestrating it as before.

Maghihintay ako ng mga unang salvo!

  2. So the prosecution is calling Esperon and the entire panel of retired generals, FOICs to the witness stand? To do what? To testify that they indeed knew what the hello garci cheating operations were all about? Hah! Problem is that these witnesses are liars.

In any event, I hope the defence lawyers grill them — tear their credibility to pieces.

  3. PSB PSB

Wow! The number of witnesses doubled! I hope that all these witnesses are “credible” and not paid with positions and money. Any which way I look, this kangaroo court is not going anywhere. If they have 20 witnesses, one or two witnesses will be called every hearing. The hearing is scheduled every month. By the time this kangaroo court is done, the evil bitch, whore, pandak will be on her way out. God willing! All this show is just to keep these valiant men in their cells until she is out of her office.

One thing is for certain though, being incarcerated is probably a better alternative than being sent to Mindanao and uselessly lose their lives. Knowing how the asspweron and the evil bitch minds’ work, if these officers were out, they will be sent to the first line of fire. Magpahinga na lang muna kayo. It is useless to serve a CHEAT and a LIAR anyway!

Col. Feliciano Loy should also call ex- elections chief Ben Burjer Abalos and former Comelec commissionaire Virgilio Garcillano in the witnesses stand. The allege withdrawal of support against bogus President Gloria Arroyo revolves around massive cheating in Mindanao Island and Cebu province. A fake president and with no peoples’ mandate must be ousted. She does not deserve one second at the Office of the President. Sending 28 Tanay Boys to jail won’t solve the issue on Gloria’s legitimacy. Case closed. BTW, where’s Lintang Bedol?

  5. PSB PSB

Ironically, the fake president can not even catch Kato and Bravo, the bandits who kill civilians and destroy properties. She can jail and torture upright officers but she can not even put away bandits! Onli in the Philippines and onli with a FAKE president!

If a disbarment case against PCGG chairman Camilo Sabio has been filed in the SC for calling his brother, CA Associate Justice Jose Sabio is against ethical standards, then what do you call the case when the impakta called on a COMELEC COMMISIONer (what’s his name) during the canvassing of the presidential election in 2004??? IS IT ETHICAL FOR HER and UNETHICAL FOR OTHERS????

The same thing will happen in the hearing of the so called February coup plot. All will be same, nothing will come out in that hearing, except that gloria and the band of hoods will be exonorated by the kangaroo court hearing hte case.

Nothing extraordinary will come out. As they say same old, same old.

In the name of gloria and the band of hoods, they will all be EXONERATED. Nothing will excite me anymore.

Just a waste of taxpayers money.

The trial is only a formality. Some if not all of the accused are already guilty and sentenced.

I truly believe that Former AFP chief Hermogenes Esperon will find a way not to testify or whore Gloria will make sure to it. However, if Assperon does testify, I don’t think will get any truth out of him. Lying in court absolutely is not a crime ever since whore Gloria the impostor stole the stinking Malacanang. I haven’t seen anybody yet that has been prosecuted for lying in court, at least not while the whore has something to do with it. Remember Bunye “I’ve two tapes evidence”, Garcillano and many others as the prime examples. September 30, 2008 is still a long way, I won’t be a bit surprise if Assperon will be spending sometime overseas before the trial. Bottom line is, whore Gloria need to protect her interest at any cost. Smart money says, Assperon will not testify.

  10. PSB PSB

Thick faced asspweron will protect the pandak evil bitch at all cost! As a matter of fact, look at what he is going with the MoA in Mindanao just to prolong the whore pandak’s tenure in office. If testifying will protect the interest of the whore, he will testify. Afterall, this kangaroo court was his creation. To him, he is powerful for as long as the whore pandak evil bitch is in power. Both are drunk with power and monny. Both are prostitutes of the lowest kind!

As I said, it does not excite me anymore, unless there is a trial and conviction of all the guilty key players in this moro-moro.

As for the ASS, the BITCH and THE HOODS, “KISS MY STINKIN ASS!!!!! MORONS!!!!!

  13. Senga has been named ambassador to Iran. So expect his testimony to favor Arroyo and against the accused officers.

  14. Chabeli Chabeli

Why is Norberto “the Banana Eater” Gonzalez so quiet ? He has a lot of answering to do on the war in Mindanao.

  15. chi chi

Even if some would say that Senga is a pretty decent guy, he is just a big piece shit to me, no balls whatsoever to defend the truth behind the alleged withdrawal of support of ‘his’ boys from the fake commander-in-chief.

Senga was awarded an ambassadorial post, an award for his participation to protect Gloria until the end of her madness.

    Iran… madale ka sana diyan!

  16. kabute kabute

For sure gloria has given the order to keep these soldiers in stockade or preferably jail. She knows from advise of the likes of esperon and her insecure security advisers that ones these patriotic soldiers are free they will move and work tirelessly for her ouster and punishment.

On another side, while it is laudable for sons to defend their fathers, it looks funny that Mikey calls his pa kawawa. Though he may be recovering from a heart condition, this has not deterred him from meddling in affairs that are not his concerns. Nagpapa-awa lang sila eh tayo ang kina-kawawa.

  17. Aha! So that makes 2 of them from PMA Class 72 holding ambassadorial post…

One is stationed in Australia to serve American-Aussie interests (Aussies playing the intel field by proxy in large part for the Americans so the latter won’t be on the front line too much) while the other, Senga will be stationed in Iran to try to establish links with a Islamic nation????

I agree with Ellen. There’s no way this dumb Generoso Senga will say the truth. No valour, no honour! Walang hiya…

  18. chi chi

Senga will be stationed in Iran to try to establish links with a Islamic nation???? – Anna

    Iyan ang totoo, besides bayad-utang!

  19. Chi,

    Tama ka! Bayad utang talaga…

I also think there is another motive, more sinister this time as to the timely nomination of Senga to the post.

Basically, Esperon doesn’t really “trust” Senga whom Class 74 (Esperon’s class) believe to be the “weakest” link in the Hello Garci chain, so he must have advised Gloria (we know Esperon is Gloria’s most trusted military doormat) to offer Senga the position. Senga being Senga (and I thought he had balls having been a full-pledged, battle hardened Mindanao veterna and field general) accepted.

I have far more respect for ex CSAFP Efren Abu (another one from PMA Class 72 and the bête noire of the Magdalos), who refused the post in Indonesia preferring to be a “special ambassador” whatever that means.

  20. Kapinoyan Kapinoyan

Remember, “No one can hawak me!”

  21. Kapinoyan,

Si Senga ba ang nagsabi niyan? (Typical Senga kung siya nga.)

  22. bitchevil bitchevil

PNP Chief Razon is about to retire. What civilian post would Gloria give him?

The roles of US, Australia, Malaysia in the Mindanao conflict were explained by Herman Tiu Laurel in his columns. I strongly recommend you to read them.

  23. chi chi

Hahaha! “No one can hawak me!”

Matagal na siyang hawak ni Gloria sa bayag!

    Anna,

With an ambassadorial post, the Ass can now trust Senga, heheh!

Senga is being thrown to far away Iran accompanied by a large remuneration, stipend, benefits and hidden whatever to permanently zip his brain cells and lips.

What a way to end a military career.

  25. Hanggang pinababayaan nating nakaupo sa Malakanyang si Pekeng Pangulo, puro vaudeville lang yang mga trials, tulad nang sa plunder case ni Erap. This early, we already know the ‘guilty’ verdict dun sa mga di nagpabayad at bumaligtad now and during the course of the trial.

At first glance at this quote, I thoguht the military prosecutor was already making a stand in favor of the honorable soldiers in incarceration, but apparently, he’s one of the guys who would make justice another farce with his failure to prosecute the real cuprit—Gloria Dorobo and her fellow cheats.

Unbelievable that this guy would want to prosecute those soldiers who had refused to continue to be under the leadership of and subject to this cheat. Over in civilized countries this would even lead to a mass resignation of those responsible for this vote rigging and pay for the their crime or crimes.

This was a lamentation of a Filipino centuries ago and is still an observation true today. Why? Many of us would rather not ask why. The answer would be painful. As a people, we are still in bondage, spiritually, emotionally, physically, and culturally. Puros tayo mga kandatango. Sa isang tasang bigas most Filipinos would sell their pagkatao. Anyone among us who can stand up and fight for what is right is indeed a rare Filipino or a vanishing breed? Prove me wrong.
