Worrisome omens

Let’s help Lorelei Fajardo, deputy presidential spokes-person, understand where the fear that Gloria Arroyo will ferociously hold on to power even after June 30, 2010 is coming from.

Fajardo said, “The President intends to vacate her office when her term ends in 2010, and does not know where such fear-mongering is coming from.”

Let’s remind Fajardo that on Dec. 30, 2002, Arroyo pledged before the statue of Jose Rizal that she would not run in 2004. Ten months later, on Oct. 5, 2003, she said without blinking an eye, “I will run for President in May 2004.”

As we all know, not only did Arroyo run in 2004; she cheated and stole the presidency.

Would she now give up what she had stolen?

Who would believe that after perverting the electoral system, the bureaucracy and the military for her to stay in power, she will leave Malacañang and expose herself to the high possibility that she would end up in jail? Who would believe that the cabal that helped her execute the greatest election heist and subsequent massive payoffs, will just let her go and expose them to the people’s retribution?

A Malacañang source said that in October 2005, when Arroyo was shaking from what the people heard in the “Hello Garci” tapes, she and her hardline advisers were almost ready to impose martial law. They would call it by some other name but the effect would be the destruction of democracy and in its place an Arroyo dictatorship.

The plan, the source said, was to explode a bomb at the Senate at 5 a.m.. Casualties would be avoided with the early morning timing but the explosion in one of the three branches of government would give Arroyo justification to declare martial law. Exactly like the fake ambush of then Defense Secretary Juan Ponce Enrile which was used by Ferdinand Marcos to declare martial law in 36 years ago.

A businessman in the Arroyo’s circle of “hawks” asked if the defense secretary (Avelino Cruz) and AFP chief of staff (Generoso Senga) were into the plan. They were not.

When Cruz and Senga were told about it, they objected. A visit by John Negroponte, then the US Director of National Intelligence, who conveyed American disapproval of the martial law option, forced Arroyo to abort the plan.

At the presscon the other day by the FSGO (Former Senior Government Officials) at Club Filipino to launch the petition against moves to extend Arroyo’s term beyond 2010 and any step towards declaring martial law, Karina David, former chair of the Civil Service Commission, asked the public to verify if it’s true that the Special Action Force, the rapid deployment unit of the Philippine National Police, has dramatically increased from 400 to 8,000.

It was noted during the presscon that the military is being kept busy in Mindanao in a war that erupted after the fiasco over the Memorandum of Agreement on Ancestral Domain with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front.

It’s also worth noting that it was the PNP’s SAF, instead of the AFP, that led the assault in the Nov. 29, 2007 siege at the Manila Peninsula when Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim, Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV and Magdalo officers walked out of their trial at the Makati City hall.

The PNP is under the jurisdiction of the Department of Interior and Local Government headed by Ronaldo Puno.

Karina raised questions about Executive order 739 reorganizing the Peace and Order Council.

Issued only last August, EO 739 provides that the NPOC “shall have the same composition as the National Security Council except for the chairmanship. The chair of the NSC shall be the President of the Philippines while the chair of the NPOC shall be the Secretary of Interior and Local Government.”

One of the responsibilities of the NPOC is to “contribute to the strategies of the NSC that would effectively respond to the peace and order problems.”

One of the functions of its sub-national councils is to “initiate and/or oversee the convergence and the orchestration of internal security operations efforts of civil authorities and agencies, military and police.”

Karina said the new NPOC makes Ronnie Puno “the little president.”

With Ronnie Puno at the helm, let’s pray for this country.

Fajardo said, “The President intends to vacate her office when her term ends in 2010, and does not know where such fear-mongering is coming from.”

—–Please take note that the word “intend” is different from “promise”. Before she ran again in 2004, she “promised” not to run again and yet, she broke her promise. Now that she merely says “intend”, what would stop her from changing her intention? She could always say later that she has changed her mind because that’s what God wants her to do. That she initially intended not to run but decided to change her mind…

Is PNP’s Special Action Force belongs to Gloria-Puno’s Gestapo unit?
Gloria Arroyo is obsessed with her own political security. All her trusted allies are in the so-called ‘national security’. Ronnie Puno, Chavit Singson and Hermogenes Esperon. Connect the dots. They are cooking something hot.

At siyempre pa isama mo din yong Abogado nilang si Joker, Apostol at Gonzalez. Nakakulong pa yong mga puwedeng pantapat sa kanila kaya libreng libre sila. May araw din talaga sila pero kailan?????

It would help a great deal, in addition to praying, that the people look around for a leader to prepare them for the eventuality of attmepts to perpetuate gloria. In the same way that malacanang is marshalling forces to force the issue perpetuation of power, the people should make moves in broad daylight to stress the point that gloria beyond 2010 is unacceptable. Tyrants thrive side by side with people’s apathy.

  7. Count me among those obsessed and paranoid about Ate Glue’s paranoia to be permanently glued to the throne. I am absolutely convinced that she is a congenital liar, as dishonest as the worst of the breed. Had she committed some benefaction for Filipino society in the course of her selfish ends, even if only incidental, then maybe she would deserve mitigation in the final retribution.

The power in a republic emanates from the people, for the people and by the people and the likes of the people at the helm. Since nobody has the guts to oppose that power with success yet, no other power therefore can uncradle what was born whether illigitimate, bastard or simply a law abiding creature even four feet tall. Many tried, but trying even harder is not the will of the people. Only sour grapes by some perhaps who only wants to have a piece of the pie. Flies sometimes do land at the pie. Flies are coming and going.

  9. I’m beginning to miss Bunye, he with the smile when telling fibs about Ate Glue, given the successor Dureza, he with the sneer for a smile, and amateur Fajardo, she with the perennial forlorn smile. Worse I’m getting nightmares that the Palace Totem is casting a spell that is corroding the support base of the Speaker and Senate President and aiming to replace them with more compliant fawns thoroughly trained in bussing her glutes. The bad dream is much too real, but I have a grudging admiration for the skill of Palace propaganda in diverting public focus away from Pidal shenanigans the latest being Puno’s 25 million carrot, the GSIS cabal-iers of dirty tricks.

Alan Cayetano ang his group of Villar defenders complained about the recent boycott of the Senate Minority Bloc. Didn’t he and the group of opposition congressmen also boycott the impeachment hearing?

Cayetano is one ungrateful dog. When he was a Congressman, it was Ping Lacson who fed him with most of the information against GMA during the impeachment proceedings. He was among the most outspoken opposition Congressmen. His performance helped him won the Senate seat. People voted him because of his being with the opposition. When he became Senator, it was Lacson who became his mentor. Lacson taught Cayetano the ABC of the Senate. It was Lacson who gave way to Cayetano chairing the powerful Blue Ribbon Committee. Now, Cayetano is attacking Lacson as if Lacson is his worst enemy.

  11. BE,
Perhaps Cayetano got his millions in pork barrel already?

Sociopath and psychopath that she is, she will say and do anything to perpetuate herself on the suffering Filipinos. No wonder the likes of fajardo and the rest of gloria’s cabal idolize her so much that they are gladly willing to lie, cheat, steal, and murder for her. Of course lets not forget the rewards they get for doing so. Filipino apathy? Bugbog sarado na kasi ang tao. What is needed is a savior hero to emerge (ala FPJ sa sine) to wipe out and send to impierno these scums.

There is this novel, a work of fiction by Vince Flynn published in 1998 by the Pocket Book Division of Simon and Schuster Inc., NY entitled Term Limits. Events described there has very uncanny parallel with what is going on in the country. The characters seems to be taken out of the Philippine scenario today. Where the government is being rundown by congressmen, senators and unscrupulous cabinet men. The solution? A group of patriots of retired special forces trained men with personal and national motives, began a series of assassination starting with the speaker, congressman and senator as a warning to the president and his administration to correct the ills they have created. Even Larry King loved the pocketbook. If you find the book, read it. Give a copy to our special forces patriots, they may be our savior heroes.

Where does the fear-mongering coming from?

Fjajardo purposely set her brain switches in the “off” position. Just like her bitch boss she loved to feign ignorance. And so she has some good words for us. But words even though how reassuring and beautifully spelled out, are not expression of assurance, truthfulness and sincerity. They are a great cover-up for deceptions, lies and evil plans that are at play where Gloria and company are the incomparable masters of the craft.

    Ellen,
This may off the topic but i’m just wondering if you heard about this “Australian driller reports new oil find off Palawan” http://www.manilastandardtoday.com/?page=news1_sept23_2008

This may be the answer to the country’s oil supply prolem.

But i’m still wondering why only manila stadard is publishing this good news.

  15. Fajardo said, “The President intends to vacate her office when her term ends in 2010, and does not know where such fear-mongering is coming from.”

    Very funny,Ha!

There are lot of things that I don’t know about Fajardo.I think she is spreading stupid disease of killing philosophy to make people think that Arroyo will step down so that the people will celebrate and dancing on the street.

She deserve more than 10 spanking on her butt if Gloria won’t step down.

Have you heard the speech of Gloria at UN.I never have a chance to watch her on my big screen. My pare told me over a cup of coffee that Arroyo is blaming the MILF or the Abu Sayyaf in Mindanao for the destruction of our economy.

Too shallow. What about Luzon and Visayas and my Butete Island?

I told my pare I am sure there are foreign leaders in the UN that heard her speech, Like the friends of Kaddafy in turban. What are their reaction?–No more oil for Philippines, maybe! Hehehehe!

  22. Kevrhimar: “This may be the answer to the country’s oil supply prolem.

But i’m still wondering why only manila stadard is publishing this good news.

    I’ll tell you why kevhrimar.

The Australians (who are probably just dummies) in Nido Petroleum, together with Basic Petro which is owned by JDV and brother Oscar De Venecia, their partners: the Walter Brown-led Philex Mining, Ricky Razon’s Monte Oro, are now all co-owners of Forum Energy that is seeking to convert its geo-survey contract into a full service contract off the oil-positive Galoc fields. Monte Oro itself is drilling in the Reed Banks where the supposed “blackgold jackpot” (according to their self-serving press releases) is located, again, with Forum Energy. These companies are all inter-connected.

Roughly, the cost of drilling per week inshore runs to about half a million dollars. That about doubles off-shore. These companies live off and operate on the amount that they can raise from other investors. No investors, no drilling. With investible funds running away from New York, the timing is perfect to make such an announcement, even if there is minimal basis. It’s about drilling capital, therefore.

Who owns Manila Standard? Now you know, Kevhrimar, don’t you?

  23. Cocoy,

Fajardo said,“The President intends to vacate her office when her term ends in 2010, and does not know where such fear-mongering is coming from.”

the way i read it is this…
    subject: The President….
verb: intends to…, and does not know…

so my take is that perhaps ms. fajardo knew, but is reluctant to relay it [what she knew] to her boss who does not know…

What’s that kevhrimar? 2 to 20 million barrels? They did not say per day, so must be total. Compare that to KUwait’s Burgan field (two million barrels a day.

What? Ka-se-setup mo pa lang pack up na? Who would want to invest in a few droplets? Dito dapat sila nag-tongpats ng expected yield, baka may kumagat.

In Zamboanga City, US soldiers camped in that city has reached 2,000 after six years of uninterrupted presence.
Zamboanga City Rep. Maria Isabelle Climaco has complained to US Ambassador Kristie Kenney of the permanent presence of US troops in her city. “In our airport, you see the Bell Helicopters and the American planes occupying one side of the hangar as if they owned our airport,” Climaco said.
“Now they are camped inside the Western Mindanao Command,” Climaco further observed.

Malacañang and the Department of National Defense continue to deny the US has set up a base in Zamboanga City, explaining they are here for the Balikatan exercises and for training of Philippine troops. They insist the US soldiers are not engaged in combat, even after pictures showed they were with Philippine Marines engaging the Abu Sayyaf in Sulu and Basilan.

  38. etcetera etcetera

I wish someone will take pictures of those American planes and helicopters in the airport. Also, pictures of Americans camped inside Western Mindanao Command. Then gave those pictures or sell those pictures to Tribune, Malaya, etc…

Once those pictures hit the front page, it will have a tremendous impact on our people. The reporter of Tribune, Amb. Maceda, did a good job of reporting what he personally experience in Zamboanga but it is not enough, we need pictures for maximum impact.

Pres. Bush allowed the US media to report how many soldiers died, the identity of soldiers who died, soldiers who got injured, etc… The only thing that Bush administration did not allow the media to do is to take pictures of those caskets arriving and unloaded in the military plane. Why? If the American people saw those caskets in newspapers and evening news, the American people will pull the plug right away on Bush invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan.

Pictures are very powerful tools in the media and Bush knows it.
