House Justice Committee junks MOA-AD intervention
Nang isinampa ng mga bloggers sa pangunguna ni Manuel L. Quezon III ang impeachment complaint laban kay Gloria Arroyo noong Miyerkoles, walang kongresista na nag-indorso.
Ayaw kasi ng mga Bayan Muna at ng Gabriela ang isyu ng MOA-AD (Memorandum of Agreement-Ancestral Domain) dahil kakampi nila ang Moro Islamic Liberation Front, na siyang makinabang sa pag parte-parte ng teritoryo ng Pilipinas ng lupain sa Mindanao na ginawa ni Gloria Arroyo.
Naniwala ang mga bloggers na nag-file ng impeachment complaint na kaya ginawa ang MOA-AD ay paraan yun para maisulong ni Arroyo ang charter-change na siyang magpapalawig ng kanyang hawak sa kapangyarihan. Ito ay labag sa batas at isang impeachable offense.
“Kung kaya’t dahil sa mga ikinilos at ginawa niya (Arroyo); sa paglabag niya sa Saligang Batas; sa pagtalikod nya sa kanyang sinumpaang obligasyon na protektahan at depensahan ang Saligang Batas; sa paglihim niya sa mamamayang Pilipino ng mga patungkol sa mga probisyon na nais niyang isulong sa kasunduan; sa malinaw na panloloko niya sa mga kapatid nating Muslim; sa maraming nasawi or nabawian ng buhay na sibilyan at militar; at dahil sa kaguluhang idinulot nya sa Mindanao; ay pinaninindigan namin na dapat maisama sa impeachment complaint ang usapin na ito,” sabi ng mga complainants.
Wala rin sa mga ibang oposisyon na kongresista ang gustong mag-endorso. Ang dami nilang pa-etseng etseng. Hindi naman daw papasa.
Ang isyu ay:labag ba sa Saligang Batas itong MOA-AD na isinulong ni Gloria Arroyo?
Kung matino kang tao o opisyal ng bayan, ang desisyon mo at nakabase sa tama o mali. Gawin mo ang tama. Kung manalo, bunos yun. Kahit matalo, ang mahalaga ay ginawa mo ang tama.
Walang maling timing sa gawaing tama.

Jeremy Gatdula, Blurry Brain; at Maria Jose (in Davao City), Alleba Politics) sumasama ako sa kanila sa panawagan sa mga oposisyon na kongresista na suportahan itong impeachment complaint tungkol sa MOA-AD.
Marami na kaming narinig na usap-usapan kung bakit ayaw ng mga oposisyon mag-endorso ng impeachment complaint. Hindi nila kayang mawala sa kanila ang kanilang milyon-milyon na pork barrel. Kailangan daw nila yun lalo pa dalawang taon na lang, eleksyon na . Kailangan nila ang pera.
Pera-pera lang ba yan?
Kung mali itong mga usap-usapan, mawawala ito kapag isulong nila ang impeachment laban kay Arroyo. Kung hindi, wala silang pinag-iba kay Arroyo.
Nadismaya ako ng marinig yung mga makakaliwang kongresista na ayaw nilang iendorso ang Intervention ng mga bloggers na pinangunahan ni MLQ3. Alam ko namang kaiisa sila ng MILF na umasa noon na magkakapirmahan sa Malaysia kaya nga beso-beso si Satur Ocampo kay Kirstie Kenney na sabay bumiyahe papuntang KL.
Ang hindi ko maisip na tanggapin ay si Ronnie Zamora mismo ang nagpasabing baka pati yung original complaint ay hindi lumusot pag isiningit itong MOA-AD. Alam nating bastusan ang laban diyan sa Batasan, pero kahit pa naifile na yung isang kaso na may pinatay si Pedro, pag may nagsabing ninakawan din ni Pedro bago pinatay, dapat isama iyan sa kaso. Ibasura man uli yan (at pihadong yan nga ang mangyayari) ang mahalaga’y pinakinggan nila ang boses ng mamamayan na kanilang kinakatawan at ilagay sa tama at kumpleto ang paratang o complaint.
Ilagay sa naaayon sa batas. Sundin ang rule of law sa tamang paraan. Kung babuyin man ng administrasyon yan, kanilang kasalanan iyon.
Like what I’ve posted in another thread, there’s no such thing as “unity” in Philippine politics. It’s all about self interest, that is why political butterflies are rampant. And that is also the reason why GMA for all her faults and crimes against the people, she is still in power. 🙁
What have the militant groups, the party-list representatives in Congress done for the people? Some have even enriched themselves after entering politics.
I don’t fault the leftists if they frequently take a different position from us, in fact, I can appreciate their being consistent on issues many mainstreamers find difficult to rally around. But no, not on the MOA-AD which is blatantly illegal and unconstitutional, they should have been more responsible.
Forget the what-is-legal-ain’t-always-right crap and show real patriotism by endorsing that Intervention before the committee meets tomorrow! That goes for the legit opposition, too.
Other than the late Rep. Beltran, I’m not impressed with the other party-list groups. They’re supposed to be representing the poor; but look at they now riding on luxurious vehicles and enjoying all the privileges similar to the other Congressmen.
The Civil Society and some opposition senators are now worried about Gloria’s appointment of six or seven new associate justices to the Supreme Court next year when those retire. But, where were they when GMA became the illegal president? Why didn’t they protest her appointment of all the justices between then and now?
I see blogging is the most democratic forum and a cradle of intrigues. So anyone that milks the government for his selfish aggrandizement wont even try the waters flowing out of the virus I call bloggers. For bloggers even with noble intents may change sides as often as the tides of the sea specially from those ensconced away from harms way.
How could the accused be the judge or judges? Most of these congressmen who would be conducting the Fertilizer Funds scam in the House were themselves the recipients of those funds.
As for the impeachment complaint hearing, how could it be fair when as usual these Malacanang allies would not allow the complainants and opposition to present their side and evidences?
This sounds like a joke but looks possible nonetheless…there’s a movement going on to make the Evil Bitch “President for Life”.
Activists are not created equal.
Can’t understand why these supposed to be activists-party lists congressmen are all for dismembering the country. True activists are nationalists, and take pride in fighting the bureacracy for the good of the country and its people. But our activists here are of a different bred, they are the exact opposite of what they are supposed to be. Shame on them.

Based on previous observations of Lower House sessions,I expected,as usual, an unruly,disorganized committee hearing aimed at simply clearing Bolante ,the mastermind of the Fertilizer scam.
To my complete surprise,the House Committee chaired by the young Rep. Abraham Mitra conducted a much ,much better inquiry compared to the earlier Senate investigation of the same scam.
Tedanz, that’s a good question. Where do these militant groups that always go out to protest in the streets get their funds? Who finance them? I think, the funds could mainly or partly come from the pork barrels of the party list groups.

Fundings ng mga grupo ni Joma? Maraming sources ang mga iyan sa totoo lang. Yumaman sila noong panahon ni Marcos especially with a lot many foreign donors giving to their coffers. Medyo nabawasan na nga lately dahil sa recession. Bilib you me. Walang galing sa pork barrel sa totoo lang.
Sabi nga nila noon, para maayos ang Pilipinas, patayin ang mga matatanda at gurang na sa kurakot na mga pilipino. Umpisahan sa mga musmos. Hintayin ang kanilang paglaki habang hinuhubog sa kabutihan. Then and only then na mababago ang Pilipinas.

But grizzy, the party list groups do get their share of pork barrel; so, where to they spend these? I’m sure even part of these is funding their groups during street protests. Where do they get the funds to make placards, signs and other needs?
Gaano lang naman ang pork barrel nila, BE. Nilalagay nila sa mga proyekto nila, no doubt about that. But most of the fundings for such protest activities, etc., karamihan diyan galing sa mga foreign donors. Believe you me. At least, I know for a fact, walang namimili sa kanila ng kung anu-ano when they go overseas. Trabaho lang talaga sila. Katulad nga ni Ka Bel noon, kapag nagpupunta sa Japan, limited funds. Bakas-bakas kami dito sa pagbayad ng accommodation niya na madalas TY sa mga may bahay dito, pagkain niya TY din, kaniya-kaniyang imbita sa kaniya, breakfast, lunch and dinner. No one among them stays in posh hotels like those Congressmen with connection to Malacanang.
Maski nga si Satur Ocampo, nakikitira noon sa anak niyang ang asawa ay scholar dito kapag bumibisita siya dito.
You bet, they try in their own way somehow to live up to the expectations of people who voted for them. Siyempre, may pagka-pilipino politician pa rin, pero compared with the majority, di hamak naman matitino silang mga known leftists among the partylist Congressmen and Congresswomen.
Please naman, no insinuation na kurakot din sila! Kami mismo ang pupuna sa kanila kung may ginagawa silang kapalpakan.
The names you mentioned are not corrupt, grizzy. But, there are some who are.
Hindi lahat ng partylists are against the criminal, BE. Remember, maraming ginawang partylists din si Gloria Dorobo para siguradong hindi dadami ang oppositionists sa Congress laban sa kaniya. Kasalanan ng mga nagpaloko sa kanila kung bakit sila nakaupo. Pero kung tungkol doon sa mga nagpo-protesta under the banner of such partylists as Bayan Muna, Anakpawis, etc., hindi sila bayaran. Majority are there kasi meron silang pinaglalaban—ang kanilang karapatan na mahango sa dusa at hirap, etc. May mga pilipino rin naman na handang magsakripisyo para sa bayan—as in Bayan Muna!!!
