Time of perilous uncertainty

Destabilization talks are getting louder and louder as Gloria Arroyo and her henchmen make the final push for her staying in power beyond 2010.

Last Tuesday at the 58th anniversary of the Scout Rangers at Camp Tecson in Bulacan, Armed Forces Chief Alexander Yano, assured the public that the military won’t be involved in any destabilization plots.

It’s significant that Yano’s audience were the elite Scout Rangers, whom its much-respected commander, Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim and 19 other officers, were implicated in the alleged plan to withdraw support from Gloria Arroyo following in February 2006 following the surfacing of the “Hello Garci “ tapes that validated Arroyo’s primary role the tampering of election results in her favor.

Lim and the 19 Scout Rangers that include Colonels Nestor Flordeliza and Edmundo Malabanjot and Major Jason Aquino have been in detention together with nine Marine officers and one Army Special Forces officer for almost three years now.

Yano told the Scout Rangers,”With being one of the most admired soldiers in the organization come the expectation that you will not abuse your skill and unique place in the Armed Forces. Because your peers look up to you, you have the responsibility to shield the military institution from forces and interests that wish to divide us for we are only as strong as we want to be. When we break the chain of command, then the armor of strength that shields the institution is also damaged.”

He said not much has changed in the mission of the FSRR since its foundation by the late general and defense secretary Rafael Ileto – to obey their constitutional mandate to protect the people, the sovereignty of the state and integrity of the national territory.

This is a good reminder to the uniformed personnel at this time when Arroyo’s fake presidency is its very precarious state and she is expected to do everything to remain in power to protect herself from the wrath of the people.

Yano should not worry about the patriotic officers, who are clear about their constitutional role of “protector of the people.” They were not the ones who allowed themselves to be used in thwarting the will of the people in the 2004 election.

If there’s any lesson gained in the February 2006 and the November 29, 2008 incidents, it is that despite the fact that Arroyo is the most disliked Malacanang occupant in the post-Marcos era, civilians need to get their act together to translate their outrage into effective change.

When the people are able to muster courage to stand up to put a stop to Arroyo’s thievery and trampling of the Constitution, these enlightened officers will do their duty to protect the people.

What about Yano?

A few months ago, former Defense Secretary Avelino Cruz warned of the danger that Arroyo would impose martial law or emergency rule if she can’t push through with charter change to extend her hold on power.

Cruz said this would not be new to Arroyo who had planned to impose emergency rule in December 2005 which prompted U.S President George W. Bush to send John Negroponte, then US Director for National Intelligence (he is now deputy secretary of state) to Manila to personally warn Arroyo against pushing through with her plan.

Cruz said he believes that Yano won’t agree for the military to be used for the imposition of an authoritarian rule.

The past months, military intelligence agents have been reporting about having monitored recruitment for a major undertaking. When those who have been approached asked for whose group, the answer was vague: “sa nakakarami” (for the majority).

It is not farfetched that hardliners among in the Arroyo cabinet – Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita, Transportation Secretary Leandro Mendoza, Public Works Secretary Hermogenes Ebdane and the new addition, Peace Adviser Hermogenes Esperon – would try to pre-empt any attempt to oust Arroyo from her stolen power because their own privileged positions are also at stake.

Sources said there’s also a group, identified with former President Ramos who are also moving.

These are uncertain times and I imagine even Yano is being watched closely.

Many agree that this Yano is far more decent than Esperonor Angie Reyes combined, and well-respected by the majority of the soldiers. I strongly believe he is on the side of the people if push comes to shove…

    Ramos again? ooh puuuleeezeee!!!!

  2. MacarioSakay MacarioSakay

    esperon and Angie Reyes combined

Reitred General Ermita is identified with ex-President Fidel Ramos. He may pull the string. Who knows?

Watch out M/V Gloria is fast sinking! The writings on the walls speak the true state of the nation. Gloria Arroyo can longer hide the truth thru manipulation, bribery, intimidation and propaganda. It’s time for her to go.

Will somebody post the article of Tito66 here, entitled:

“It’s time for the military and police leaderships to unify the armed services and make a genuine revolutionary reform”

It’s from the website of Sundalo Tagapagtanggol ng Pilipino

  5. Toney Cuevas Toney Cuevas

It’s now or never! The people doesn’t need Yano nor the military, yet united resoluteness of the people willing to put an end to immoral wh*re’s admin. and corruption.

  6. It’s time for the military and police leaderships to unify the armed services and make a genuine revolutionary reform

    Tito’66

This is only a “single stroke of the pen” by the top and senior military-police leaderships, a mere announcement. It’s a pronunciamento in the media, in alliance with the morally concerned leaders in the country.

NAGSIMULA ITO NUONG EDSA I & II, though genuine revolutionary reforms were not achieved due to fast turn–over to leaders with the same collar of dog, kaparehong uri at hanay, kaparehong kaisipan.

It’s time for the top/senior military and police leaderships to unify the armed services and make a genuine revolutionary reform in alliance with morally concerned leaders and intelligentsia and the masses.

Again, the true color of Yano will show in this latest movement. Sana nga he will be for the people. The reason the movements against the evil bitch never succeeded in the past was because of asspweron’s successful blocking of all the main arteries into the city. If those arteries be left open, all the people from all over the Philippines can come and participate. IT IS ABOUT TIME THIS EVIL BITCH is booted out!

The Tabako is embedded very deep into the evil bitches’ kingdom. Tengang daga is also very close to the Tabako. Tabako is a SILENT OPERATOR in all of these. West Pointer yata yan. He is as corrupt as the evil bitch but knew how to play the game with whoever is in power. He is still pulling the strings but lately the evil bitch has alienated herself from him. Kaya siguro medyo galit si Tabako.

Now I can see Toungue Twisted’s analysis shaping up. Enrile’s installation may be a GOOD OMEN for what is to come. Enrile may be the next interim leader! I hope he will leave a legacy this time and not CLING unto power until he dies. Afterall ang masamang damo ay mahirap mamatay. I read Armida’s commentary about his brother (Enrile) a few days ago. She said in a nutshell that she was surprised at her brother’s allegiances to prior leaders. He was unpredictable but he was his own man. Will Enrile play a big role this time?

For now, let us just watch how the drama unfolds and watch the fireworks. PRAYERS are in order that in the process of CHANGE, there will be no bloodshed.

SumpPit, I read Tito’s article which was posted barely two hours after the impeachment was killed. He may have anticipated the outcome of the hearing. It is a strong call for unity in the military to show dissent against the evil bitch and her rotten lapdogs. It is also a call to march on the streets. Sana nga the men in uniform will heed his call this time before it is too late. The evil bitch says something different from what she and her lapdogs do. So if she says, she will step down in 2010, expect just the opposite. SHE IS A LYING, CHEATING and CRIMINAL BITCH! Why will we trust her? F*CK HER!

The young militants who attacked luxury hotels were targeting Americans and British. These days, it’s not good to be Caucasians. Most of all, gone are the days when Americans and British arrogantly displayed their passports. The US and UK are partners in so many ways. It’s about time the two countries break this aggressive and bullying partnership. They can continue with their diplomatic and trade relationship…but should now examine their joint foreign and war policies. Maybe…just maybe, Obama would change this.

Yano must have been an irresponsible soldier yet when his superiors deflected from the constitution.

But I believe that given no choice by a popular revolt of the people, Yano will side with them. Sigurista, siempre a!

TIME TO DIE FOR ALL THE RIGHT REASONS

    DAMN THE TORPEDOES!!!

I call on my brothers in uniform, NOW is the time to redeem ourselves. The whole nation cries for succor against the relentless onslaught of tyrants. Our organization and our systems have been prostituted. Our justice system doesn’t work. Our territorial integrity is under attack. Law and order is a dream. Our coffers are being robbed. The dignity of a whole generation is lost. We are being pitted, used and abused against the very people whom we have sworn to defend and protect. Our sense of loyalties has been distorted to favor a cabal of criminals. We shed blood, sweat and tears and the comfort of our families for all these wrong reasons!!!

We dare to imprison those who stood up against cheating…but we never dared to put to task the cheaters.
We dare to shoot our Muslim brothers…but we never dared to hang those who committed treason.
We dare to run after farmers, fishermen and workers…but we never dared to break the cause of their poverty.
We dare to stop legitimate dissent…but we never dared to confront an illegitimate government.
We dare to serve the ends of criminals…but we never dared to protect a nation.

Fellow soldiers, we cannot fool a nation that our silence and inaction is a mark of professionalism. Neither do we fool ourselves. For in truth and in fact, we refuse to leave our comfort zones. We hate to be called cowards for we are not. Let us not wait for the Filipino people to judge us. Now is the time to rectify. Now is the time to perform our mandate.

A call to MARCH has been sounded. I enjoin everybody to march in cadence with the Nation. I will be there.

Time to die for all the right reasons!!!

To have a “critical” mass, all the different factions should band together and put aside their differences. It may be true that most of those who hate the evil bitch now were the same people who installed her into power. There will be room for finger pointing later but to topple this evil bitch, everyone should be focused on the same main mission! Wasn’t that how the evil bitch took power? She aligned with all the opposition so she could grab power and she succeeded. Let us give her her own medicine, maybe even in a more lethal dose!

  17. Tomorrow, Nov. 29, marks the anniversary of the march from Makati City Hall to the Manila Pen Hotel. In commemoration of the event, Fr. Robert Reyes, the “running priest” (may also be called “marching priest”), is launching a book at Ninoy’s monument at the corner of Ayala Ave. and Paseo de Roxas at 10:00 AM today. The protest movement will be there, and a noise barrage will be held as announced by theBlack and White Movement.

Be there. Do it for yourself. Do it for your children. Do it for your country.

in december 2006, there was suppose to be a huge rally if i remember, that was so timely and people are so angry for immediate ouster of the fake president GMA.. tapos nakialam si cardinal rosales..at ginawang prayer rally.. sana po, huwag na maulit ulit this dubios act of the good (if he is that really gooD) cardinal to save the evil queen.. enough is enough.. sana po cardinal rosales, pabayaan mo na po ag galit ng taong bayan.. huwag ka na po tumangap sa pekeng pangulo para sa iyong “pisong pondo, para sa pinoy.” this time, let us all march, till GMA and her evil minions are ousted, kicked out and put to where they belong..

By this time wah na intelligence fund ang kapulisan.

  35. Myrna e-mailed this comment because she can’t remember her password:

Talagang garapalan na ang mga Congressmen at Cabinet members ni Gloria. Pati pangalan ng Diyos at pagdasal, ginagawang lokohan na lang.

First, it was Dureza who said he decided to pray lightly, to which he even added that he knows God has a sense of humour. I had an email from Bishop Bong Baylon of Masbate and we talked about this. He shares my opinion that the way they are doing everything in Malacanang, everything is just for lokohan na lang. Too bad, majority of the Filipinos have not done anything SOLID to oust them.

Second is the justification/defence of Garcia from Cebu, comparing Gloria to Jesus Christ! Holy crap! Anong klaseng mga tao ito? Kung tao pa talaga.

Incidentally, you might have heard about the theft of parts of the Image of the Immaculate Conception housed at Masbate Cathedral. As reported, they were made of ivory. This reminds me of the time when the Image of the Blessed Virgin of Penafrancia has gone missing from the Naga Metropolitan Cathedral. It was allegedly recovered, but it was public knowledge in Naga City then that Imelda Marcos had a hand in it. Nakunsensiya kaya isinoli. No questions asked!

Now I suggested to Bishop Baylon to look at it in Malacanang perspective. Dahil ivory, and they might have some, as added treasure or loot ng bayan. Likewise, jokingly I told him, baka gawin pangontra sa diarrhea ni Arroyo or the impending ouster! Realistically, it may just be the work of some hungry persons wanting to get money out of it, but we never know!!!

I hope you are well. Also, please pass on to Marlyn’s family my deepest condolences. Be assured of my prayers for Marlyn and her bereaved family.

  50. To maintain even a semblance of democracy and to ensure that the government is by the people, of the people, for the people, it is imperative that the people, the civilians, ordinary Juans and Marias take the helm.

The military of the nation should be the last component of a nation to act when things go wrong and should only do so when the foundations of the Republic have become critically wobbly. They will be there when they are needed but first, the people/civilians must lead the fight to regain their dignity as Juggernaut says because that’s how you keep democracy alive.

and they should do eThat’s what democracy is all about.

    COMPLETE TEXT OF TITO66 ARTICLE

“It’s time for the military and police leaderships to unify the armed services and make a genuine revolutionary reform”

Ang nakakaraming mambabatas sa Justice Committee of the House of Representatives, na kaalyado, kakutsaba ng korap na rehimen pulitikal ay muling binasura ang impeachment complaint re pandaraya sa eleksyon, malawakang suhulan na naganap sa Malakanyang, kitang-kita ito sa video sa TV kamakalawa bilang patunay, na me mga bitbit silang bagfuls of money to the tune of P0.5M per bag as claimed by pro-impeachment solons (laking kawalang-hiyaan ito, sa Malakanyang pa naman), at sari-saring korap mega deals like the NBN-ZTE (na mismo sina GMA & FG the Full of Greed pumunta sa Tsina together with other officials) atbpang shady deals, at matinding pagnanakaw sa kaban ng bayan.

Sobra-sobrang kabuktutan at kawalang-hiyaan ito, TOP to BOTTOM, NATIONAL to LOCAL LEVEL, sa taumbayan at bansa – systemic, endemic kind of LEADERSHIP BY BAD EXAMPLE. Huwad na mga national political leaders exercising political power only because of sheer protection of the armed services, the military and police. Who’ll say they’re the legitimate, duly constituted authorities, when they are violators of the Constitution. They took only a sham Oath of Office to obey and defend the Constititution. They don’t protect the interests of the people and the state. Bagkus pa niyuyurakan nila especially the basic value on honesty and integrity. Decades na itong ganitong kalintikan sistemang ito, asserting their bogus civilian supremacy over the armed services to serve their selfish interests..

But there’s still chance – they reform, rectify themselves, ang mga naligaw ng landas sa militar at pulisya. Mahuhugasan ito if they conform with the winds of change for the better.

Remove this protection and these sham and corrupt political leaders are gone with the winds . . . of revolutionary change for the betterment of our country that has been suffering from this kind of political bondage and from the decades old political and social malaise.

It’s high time for the military and police, na binababoy lang ng mga pulitikong ito, ginagamit lang sa kanilang kabuktutan, na tanggalin ang kanilang korap at ganid na kapangyarihang pulitikal. Maliwanag sa Constitution, the armed services are mandated to serve and protect the interests of the people and country from all kinds of viciousness especially that of mandaraya, fake and corrupt leaders.

It’s time for the top/senior military and police leaderships to unify the armed services and make a genurine revolutionary reform in alliance with morally concerned leaders and intelligentsia and the masses. Nasaan ang propesyonalismo nila to lead the good example of serving the people sa ganitong pagsuporta sa huwad na rehimen at corrupt political system. Lalabas na leaders by bad example din sila following the same vein of their political leadership. Their names will go down to history if they don’t listen to the people’s clamor, wakasan na finally ang kawalanghiyaan ng corrupt political system para guminhawa ang taumbayan..

This is the constitutional duty of the armed services, not to give continuing and further protection to illegitimate, dishonest and corrupt political system that tramples on the rights of the people especially the poor masses and low-salaried employees like the soldiers. Tito’66

My worry for the Nov 30 rally is this: IT’S A SUNDAY!!!

What does this mean? The biggest contingent of EDSA 1 and 2 were the students, encouraged by militant teachers and intructors.

How in the world can we muster enough warm bodies to make this rally inspiring enough for the filipino soldiers to declare their support for the masses, if we don’t have the students?

  61. Sunday will be followed by a Monday.

….After so many years, they want to have sex so they checked in at St. Luke’s. They can’t do it in Malacanang due to high security. There are lots of hidden videos inside Malacanang including their bedroom.

Perhaps they don’t trust Presidential Security Group (PSG) men around just in case of ouster move. Remember Indira Gandhi was assassinated by her own bodyguards in 1984.

    Ans,
This move of Gloria & Mike to go to St Luke’s makes me suspicious that indeed the noise of a destablization plot could be quite audible..Maybe the Pidals actually think they are safer in the hospital. From what I heard over the news, they passed through the back entrance of the hospital. How weird, no ?

    Bitchevil,
Sex in the hospital ? Haaaahhhhhaaaa ! You are too funny.

I’ve been toying that idea for a long time now; that is, to terminate her it has to be her own security detail. Let’s hope that one of her close-in security would do a patriotic act by terminating her for the sake of the country. I’ve long been saying that it requires the sacrifice of a life to eliminate the Evil Bitch. I’m not suggesting this…but why is there not even one suicide assassin or bomber? We’ve seen even female suicide bombers in other countries. All we need is one woman to wrap her body with bomb and go near the Evil Bitch pretending to hug her to wish her “Merry Christmas”…then Bang !

  74. Chabeli Chabeli

    Ans,
I, too, agree with you & Juggernaut that “The soldiers should be the last people to act since this is a civilian matter. Let the people find their dignity again and fight for it.” However, because people have seemed to be tired of going out to the streets & being brave enough to oust Gloria, a military intervention — which I am NOT for — will be the ramificaions of non-people power. This is exactly what I am afraid of.

If only the Opposition was organized ! From what I see, most in the Opposition have egos & are also out for their own interests (ie, Erap, Binay, etc).

  75. bitchevil bitchevil

Chabeli, you heard the news by mistake. They didn’t pass through the hospital back door entrance…Mike did it to her from behind (back).

Gen. Yano just told his men not to get involved in politics and be used by any group. Why such a warning today? So, another coup is going on. But compared to Esperon, I think Yano shows more independence. When the heat is on, he may still side with the people.

  77. parasabayan parasabayan

Anna and Jug, in civilized and first world countries, the military and the church always have a clear separation from the state but in the Philippines, just like in the prior EDSA revolts, these two components were in the mix. Unfortunately in the Philippine scene, unless the military and the church back the movement, it will not succeed. Of course with Uncle Sam’s blessings too!

  78. parasabayan,
Victory is achieved in many ways, against a strong opponent, the element of surprise is a big factor…it pays not to telegraph one’s intentions.

  79. bitchevil bitchevil

Absolutely. Earlier, I mentioned that the formula for a successful overthrow is: Church, Military and Uncle Sam. It was proven correct during Edsa 1 & 2. During Cory, it was only part of the military belonging to Honasan’s RAM group. There was absence from the church (late Cardinal Sin was an avid Cory supporter) and Uncle Sam. Fidel Ramos’ regime was quiet because of strong protection from military and Uncle Sam. Even if the Catholic Church was indifferent to a Protestant President, she remained neutral. Today, Gloria has the support of the military and Uncle Sam despite the church’s anti-GMA attitude. This will change if Uncle Sam drops Gloria sending signal to the local military to go ahead with the overthrow.

Re: “The soldiers should be the last people to act since this is a civilian matter. Let the people find their dignity again and fight for it.”

I agree with ginoray, “we really don’t need military support if there too won’t be any military intervention to intimidate us.”

Same ole same ole, GloriaAss pa rin!

  81. parasabayan parasabayan

All the clamor for the evil bitches’ ousting will eventually die down if the evil bitch openly declares that she will not support any move for the charter change and will encourage congress not to push for the charter change. But since the evil bitch had already shown so many times that what she says is not necessarily what she does and that there is no shortage of lapdogs, who for a large fee will carry on her wishes, the Filipinos distrust her immensely!

Siguro when the election campaign starts, the charter change issue will die a natural death.

Ellen, when will these presidential candidates formally file their candidacy papers? Do they have to wait 3 or 6 months prior to the May 2010 elections? Napakaikli naman yun! In the US the pick of their two main candidates is by the process of elimination called the primaries. With Obama, he spent 21 months on the campaign trail. That was ample time to get the Americans to know who he was and impart to the voters what he stood for, “change”.

  82. parasabayan parasabayan

Jug, our culture is so different. Dada muna tayo ng dada bago kumilos. Unless we evolved into a different “style” of approaching our problems, we are always read so easily.

  83. parasabayan parasabayan

Besides, we as a people are so subservient. Kulang tayo talaga sa “guts” pa! We always wait for a “strong” enough rallying point, whether it was the “abuse” of power in the martial law days of Marcos and the death of Ninoy, or the well orchestrated overthrow of Erap by an overly ambitious corrupt duo like the evil bitch and the fat pig who plotted to oust him from day one! In both instances, the church and the military aligned with each other to make the movement successful. In the case tof the evil bitch, she and her husband even used the left to oust Erap only to eventually get rid of them by issuing the EO 1017. Remember when Satur and his colleagues had to be arrested?

  84. bitchevil bitchevil

Not since the time of Marcos do we see the militarization of our government such as today. It’s even worse today. Notice the government agencies being led by retired Generals: Ermita, Reyes, Lastimoso, Mendoza, Berroya. Even many RP diplomats today are military officials. Therefore, it would be quite difficult to oust the Evil Bitch when she’s surrounded by these loyal dogs.

  85. tru blue tru blue

All these chatters amplified here I know are well intended for the goodness of our government. BUT the vast majority of the very poor masses at this point are not quite rebellious, no revolt, no People Power yet as in the past despite their substandard social status; if I was in their shoes – why on earth would I do it again? I’ve done it before and me Juan Dela Cruz is still in the doldrums, slums if you will. Just “WHO tf” will take me to the Promised Land if I will sacrifice my life again?
Juan is pondering that seemingly repitious problematic notion in his swirling head! How Juan will eat three square meals a day.

  86. parasabayan parasabayan

Most of our people still lack the political will, unfortunately. With a hundred peso bill, a voter changes his pick. With a 500 thousand amount in a brown bag, a representathief votes against an impeachment move which is clearly fully documented. The corruption in our country has erroded all our values and this is a big time set back! Most of our people are reduced to just “followers”. Those with the money, legitimately made or stolen( mostly stolen) become the lords of the land.

Look at the examples of our leaders. Those who cheated for the evil bitch like asspweron became the Cheat of Staff and now an adviser for what? The MoA that almost gave away Mindanao to the rebel group MILF. A known crook and criminal like sabit swingson is of all positions a “Peace Adviser”! Hah,hah,hah.. what a big joke! The list can go on and on. But worst of all, a system where the leader of the land just determines what is the “law” at her whim and worst, she is the holder of the purse. She can pick and choose those she wants to bribe! She also can spend the money just for herself as she is now apparently doing and enjoying!

After passing the nursing board exams, 22-year old Mae-Mae immediately volunteered for a three-month medical mission to the hinterlands of Negros. Mae-Mae barely finished her volunteer work in Negros when her dreams died with her.

She was killed by elements of the AFP in September 2008 in an alleged encounter with New People’s Army rebels. Her face was barely recognizable; she was shot at point-blank range. Her feet and legs were black and bruised, signs of torture evident elsewhere in her beaten body.

Based on the surveys, Noli and Money Villar are the top contenders in the upcoming elections. That is if the election will ever come. Noli is a known “yes man” of the evil bitch and he himself amassed wealth that could even buy his wife’s children’s silence on their case of bigamy and abandonment against their mother ( the now wife of Noli) plus big multi-million dollar houses in his dummies’ ownership. Money Villar too made his money by supposed real estate deals which are now slowly being exposed as financed by none other that our own money, C5 monies etc.

So True Blue, can we expect a future president which will really take care of our poor? If one of these two will win, as the survey says one of them might, the cycle of corruption still goes on. Worse, these two happen to be friendly to the evil bitch and of course the evil bitch will be on her merry way to spend the stolen money from our own pockets without any accountability!

Sinabi mo pa. Worse is when they take credit for something that they have not actually done like those people who claim glory for what my group did when we stopped the sales of Philippine properties in Japan in 1989-1992. Dada lang, pero when the action is called for, tago ang mga ungas, ang daming katwiran, kesyo may trabaho, busy, etc.

And as I have stated in another loop, naniniguro pa. Kung maraming kasama, at puede silang makapabor, sasama sila. Otherwise, manigas ka, and one reason why we really feel grateful to the Japanese supporters who join our protest rallies even at their own risk as when they are blacklisted and are banned from entering the Philippines even when in fact they have served the interests and welfare of the Filipino people.

Kaya iyon ang isang dahilan why I make sure always to get a permit from the police and ask them to protect our right to express our feelings and sentiments against the graft and corruption infested Philippine government.

  90. parasabayan parasabayan

The reluctance of our people to oust the evil bitch is the fact that if she is ousted, Noli will take her place! How sad it is for the Filipino people! Then Noli, since he will then be holding the purse, will use our money again to bank roll his next election in 2010, a repeat of the evil bitches’ modus operandi! Are the people winning anything here? Sadly, they will be in a worse position!

Good enough way to get rid of the crooks in the government. Yuck!

  92. parasabayan parasabayan

Unless of course, the evil bitch and Noli “kabayad” will be ousted together , an interim government put up and a sanp election be done almost immediately after.

Whoever takes over after Gluerilla – let’s pray na lang as Cory always said in every disaster.

….What did Cory’s prayers bring us? All she did was to listen to Cardinal Sin and go to see the nuns in convent. At night, she played mahjong with her amigas and comadres. The poor are tired not because they don’t want change; but they don’t trust these groups trying to oust the Evil Bitch. How could this Civil Society, Black & White Movement be trusted when they were the same ones that ousted Erap? And majority of the poor are loyal Erap and FPJ supporters.

  94. parasabayan parasabayan

Yuko, I am very sad for Mae-mae. How many more Mae-maes will have to die uselessly?

Kaya nga ang Japan ay naturingang 2nd largest economy in the world! Samantalang after the war Japan was flattened! I remember that in the 50s and 60s, almost all of the products made in Japan were so cheaply made and easily broken. The Japanese people must have one or more excellent traits that made them a very strong people. Can we Filipinos learn from the Japanese? Sana magkaroon din tayo ng paninindigan!

  95. parasabayan parasabayan

BE, what you just said is exactly what it is. The same people who are trying to oust the evil bitch were the same groups who installed her. But now is not the time to point fingers at those who were at fault. This is a critical time to mend differences and align for one common cause, to prevent the evil bitch to push through with the cha cha and to field in a future leader with a lot of integrity, heart for the country and has no prior anomalies attached to himself/herself including his/her immediate family and friends and who will be honestly elected in 2010. Unless we have this unity, the evil bitch and her annnointed will continue to rule. Haven’t we learned our lessons yet?

  96. bitchevil bitchevil

We’re not pointing fingers; but these guys must realize the damage they did to the constitution and laws by resorting to extra-legal means and conspiracy in ousting Erap. What did B & W Movement leader Leah Navarro say after Erap’s pardon? She protested and even criticized Erap. Do you think Erap’s fans who compose majority of the masses like her comment? But you’re right, opposing groups must join forces to oust the Evil Bitch even just for this time…last time. Didn’t they which included the leftist groups who even came down from the mountains conspired with the right wing military to oust Marcos…and Erap? If this last attempt to oust the real enemy of the land fails, it’s those guys’ own making.

  97. parasabayan parasabayan

BE, the evil bitch suceeded in ousting Erap because she aligned with everybody (even her known enemies). If we have to do the same to simply show force, we now have to be unified otherwise the evil bitch wins!

The reluctance of the poor people to participate in kicking out Gloria is that they are already too hungry to think about their future with a new leader. Afterall, they are not direct beneficiaries once leaders are overthrown. Palagi silang loser.

  99. chi chi

    PSB,

Unity? How can we achieve this when Pinas society is too compartmentalized.

  100. parasabayan parasabayan

Sinabi mo pa Chi. Kaya nga dapat huwag na nating asahan yung mga mahihirap to clean up our government. These poor souls do not even know how to feed themselves and their families. Paano sila magaalsa? The movement will have to come from the middle class and the youth! Yan na lang ang pagasa natin talaga. They are more able. The OFWs and their families are also a strong force! Over 10 million OFWs must have have a terrific impact! Money Villar is so concentrated in that group. His advicers must be so focused!

  101. parasabayan parasabayan

If ever the poor participate, they are given provisions by politicians or the politically motivated rich and middle class for their own resons, self serving or not.

Yup, I miss the actions needed from the middle class and the youth.

Will the youth act as forceful as during the time of Marcos?

  104. chi chi

Money Villar is too concentrated on being the next president. As far as he is concerned, he wants the OFWs only for votes, not for any actions that will disrupt/stop the 2010 scenario.

Pero kung nasimulan na sa loob ng Pinas ang massive actions against the bitch ay tiyak na susuporta at aaksyon ang OFWs to finish off Gloria.

LET US RECLAIM THE HOME OF OUR FILIPINO PEOPLE

What we are, as a nation today is what we inherited from the fathers of our nation and how that heritage was nurtured thereafter.

(Jose Miguel, I discourage cuttting and pasting whole, long articles here. It ruins the flow of discussion. Just link it please.)

  106. parasabayan parasabayan

That is a handful of our origin and evolution Jose Miguel. There should be more Jose Rizals and Bonifacios within us. We have not completely cut the umbilical chord from our colonizers. We have not also learned how to wean ourselves from corruption. In other words, we actually do not have any freedom at all ( economically, politically etc).

Maybe we should teach Ethics, anti-Corruption and the good practices in a society to our young kids. Maybe we should punish the corrupt politicians by passing a bill in the Senate where every government official should be exempt from privacy laws. That every citizen who enters a government employment should have a life style check on a regular basis and if irregularities are caught, their assets should be seized, given back to the government, serve time in prison and banned from public office forever!

We have not done enough to cut the corruption. maybe we should start now!

  107. bitchevil bitchevil

What Chi said was true…Filipinos are too hungry to even think of changing the government now. This brings me to the another question about funds. Any rally or street demonstration needs funds. Could it be because no one is financing the rally these days?

  108. Valdemar Valdemar

    Macario Sakay & Jose Miguel,

I am sure you mean well in your points but it might take us up to 2010 just to digest what you are trying to imply. Nasunog tuloy and linuluto ko na almusal. Joke lang, brunch.

  109. One of the major cause of why we can’t seem to make things right is our own Way of Thinking.

That’s why if a change in the government will succeed, the first thing that must be done is to change the psyche of the Filipino.

Religion has definitely convinced us that there’s an invisible man, perpetually looking after the affairs of men. Whatever we wish for, all we need to do is Pray. And if that prayer is not heard and granted, we only need to think we just don’t deserve it yet. So what do we do?

    Wait.

And while we are waiting for something we’re not sure what, the pambabastos continues.

  110. tru blue tru blue

PSB: >can we expect a future president> all those aspiring to be Head of State have sub-zero credibilities. Maybe, just maybe – Jessie Robledo or Rodrigo Duterte come out in the open and campaign with unorthodox platform. Masses fully support the campaign with donations nationwide, why not? Having said that – people just have to wakeup and order a different menu, you can’t eat the same crap over and over.

  111. Valdemar Valdemar

Like what most of the EM and small time reserve officer participants of the failed coups asked later, ‘where do we get the next family meal after?’ Prayers perhaps might help with some robberies on the sides.

  112. chi chi

Yes, be. Walang financers ang rallies because it’s so obvious that the MBC still support Gloria and will support the bitch until 2010, that is if she does not insist on her cha-cha. The businessmen know when to enter the picture…kapag nakikita nila na hinog na hinog na sa galit ang pinoy. Puro nasa middle class e, nag-aantabay lang!

Look at the Tenga, umaalsa kunwari and I heard that some Tongressmen already withdrew their signatures from Mikey’s list. Kasi they’re feeling the anger of the pinoys already.

The evilbitch is pushing us to corner but by the look of it, she is the one hiding in fear. Ipinaparada na naman ang kanyang militar!

  113. bitchevil bitchevil

Bush, his legacy and marriage in trouble, is spending his final days in office battling depression as his drinking goes out of control, according to White House insiders. He’s feeling very sorry for himself that he often asks his wife Laura: Why do people hate me? I’ve tried so hard.”

Does the Evil Bitch feel the same way as Bush?

  114. chi chi

    101% agree, SumpPit.

    Katawa ang poste mo, Val.

  115. Another psychological problem is to gamble from one politician to another, as if any of them could really bring about real tangible change.

When was the last time a politician ever introduced a way of making your life a bit easier?

Certainly, it’s not the politician who brought us electricity so we don’t have to look for a firewood so we can cook our meal, or electric light so we won’t burn our eyebrows at night with that lampara.

Surely, it’s not the politician that has enabled us to talk through a cellphone over long distances, or share ideas thru a blog.

But why are we so obsessed in any of these Useless Entities?

Do we really need them to govern, guide or control us?

C’mon, let’s be honest with ourselves: Do we really need someone to tell us to do this, and do that?

Why can’t we get rid ourselves that which we don’t really need?

    Oh, I forgot… we’ve been brainwashed.

  116. bitchevil bitchevil

MBC has distanced itself from the Evil Bitch after the Hyatt 10 incident. However, only a few MBC officials like Albert Lim are vocally against the Bitch. The entire MBC still plays neutral for its own business survival. The Concepcions who are closely identified with Cory are also quiet. Lucio Tan continues to support the Bitch for obvious reason…so are the rest of the Tsinoy tycoons. The Binondo Mafia continues to do their dollar business unhindered. US multi-national business in the Philippines still follows the dictate of Washington. So far, it’s still Gloria. The CBCP/Catholic Church continues to benefit from government money…from Pagcor.

  117. tru blue tru blue

BE – in a country where “prayer” seem to have power instilled to the vast majority – such rethoric by Cory was an allegory of weakness and Noli seems to be in that mold.

Because your peers look up to you, you have the responsibility to shield the military institution from forces and interests that wish to divide us for we are only as strong as we want to be. When we break the chain of command, then the armor of strength that shields the institution is also damaged.”

He said not much has changed in the mission of the FSRR since its foundation by the late general and defense secretary Rafael Ileto – to obey their constitutional mandate to protect the people, the sovereignty of the state and integrity of the national territory.””

Take note of the second paragraph…

  119. bitchevil bitchevil

Here’s the scenario: JDV would resigned from Lakas Party before he gets ousted. Then, he would join the opposition. Villar may be adopted by Lakas. That leaves Roxas, Legarda and Lacson the serious candidates from the opposition. Escudero is still young and would remain in the Senate. Dick Gordon? No one trusts this Subic Boy. Mayor Binay? His presidential bid is only a ploy. He’s only good as Vice President potential. Erap would pick between Jinggoy and Binay as Vice? Despite all the reports, Erap is not keen on running for President. He’s enjoying his life more as an ordinary citizen.

This is exactly what we, in the Council for the Restoration of Filipino Values are doing, having been designated as Corruption Prevention Unit of the Office of the Ombudsman. We conduct seminars on values for gov’t employees and inculcate in them the essence of RA3019, RA6713, EO 292 etc.
We have filed so many cases against elective and appointive officials but how these cases are being handled by the Ombudsman is something that will make one puke!!!

Have you ever considered Chief Justice Puno?

  122. Businessmen will always be businessmen. Politicians will always be politicians. But they do have one thing in common.

    Doubletalk.

Here is one of the latest examples:

“When we break the chain of command, then the armor of strength that shields the institution is also damaged.”

While this is true on the surface, it really means don’t side with the people and participate on the rallies.

Ah yes, that General is playing politics, too.

  123. parasabayan parasabayan

MacarioSakay, why not impeach the Chief Ombudsman?

  124. parasabayan parasabayan

I like Justice Puno. He can push for jail time for the corrupt and erring government employees. Mar Roxas may not be too bad. He is young, full of energy, rich, still single and has more time to concentrate on his work as president and if by fate he finally ties the knot with Korina, para narin natin ibinoto si Legarda or Noli plus himself pa. Korina would look good as a First Lady. At least matalino, maganda at feisty pa.

  125. kevrhimar kevrhimar

    parasabayan,

“MacarioSakay, why not impeach the Chief Ombudsman?”

Do yo think it will prosper?

  126. Another changes that we should do:

Change the name of this country to something that reflects who we really are.

    Malaya, perhaps?

Malay is our race. Malaya means Free.

    Republic of Malaya sounds acceptable.

After changing the name, we must also change the address of our Head Office.

Masyado tayong minamalas sa Malacanan. Kahit i-exorcise pa yan ng lahat ng Obispo, wala ring manyayari.

MEN for 2010, or Movement to Elect Non-trapos for 2010 is being organized. I’m part of it here in Baguio. Our vision is to convince Chief Justice Puno to throw his hat in the political ring as presidential candidate come 2010, to be supported in the locals by new breed of candidates who are God-fearing, law-abiding, honest, etc.
We are banking on what we now call christian votes..

Keep the movement going to persuade him, he might be the only hope. I will be a big supporter and small-time contributor. You should get a feeler from north to south, sort of a gutcheck how people react. Just a thought.

I do not know if the Tabako can still manipulate these lapdogs though who are now enjoying the perks of the evil bitch. Some of them may have even gotten more ambitious than ever.

I know that the opposition are very careful not to trigger the imposition of martial law. They know that unrest on the streets may very well induce the evil bitch to declare one if the cha cha train gets derailed.

If FVR is quiet, we better watch out. Something’s going on. He would only appear again if IT fails. Between GMA and JDV, FVR’s loyalty is to JDV.

  140. Valdemar Valdemar

    Chi,
I dont know if we should laugh at the real predicament of our boys involved with political upheavals.

  141. BE: Between GMA and JDV, FVR’s loyalty is to JDV.

    *****
Maybe, kasi pareho silang panggalatok. Who knows baka magkamag-anak pa nga sila. Iyong mga Ilocano kasi kahit na taga-Pangasinan, very clannish. Si Gloria Dorobo, kahit na nanay niya taga Pangasinan, ang tingin pa rin sa kaniya ng mga Ilocano sa Pangasinan, kapampangan, or out of their clan. Tingin sa kaniya, “dugong aso!”

  142. I don’t trust FVR. I’d rather that Filipinos, who love their country, move without depending on the likes of this Pangalatok.

Tell you frankly, in 1986 after Marcos and family were transported to Hawaii, he told his loyalists not to trust FVR. Puede pa raw silang maki-deal kay Enrile but NEVER kay FVR for what he did to him, FVR’s own relative, kung baga own flesh and blood.

  143. chi chi

    Val,

Dito ako natawa: “I am sure you mean well in your points but it might take us up to 2010 just to digest what you are trying to imply. Nasunog tuloy and linuluto ko na almusal. Joke lang, brunch.”.

    heheh!

  144. chi chi

FVR? Can he still do something? Bwahahaha!

  145. bitchevil bitchevil

There were talks even up to now that FVR has a role in Ninoy’s assassination. Some even pointed to him as the real mastermind in the Dacer murder. FVR’s side kick Gen. Almonte is an expert in intelligence and covert operations. Another loyal man, Gen. Abat, is a consistent active supporter of oust-GMA movement. If you connect all the above, how can we say that FVR is innocent? He played a major role in the ouster of Marcos and Erap. Hopefully, he do it again this time to GMA…then after GMA is removed, we can hang FVR.

  146. According to Dacer’s phone records, FVR was the last person he talked to on that day.

    **********************

As to the Makati Business Club, it’s chair Boy Blue Del Rosario of Phinma (Phinma is an investment house and also manages business, e.g. Bacnotan Cement of the Madrigal family) is very much Anti-GMA. He is also chairman of the Coalition Against Corruption, La Salle’s Regents Board and many professional and philanthropic NGOs as well. He was also FVR’s Finance Secretary.

MBC Executive Director Bert Lim who replaced the controversial Bill Luz, is also a vocal Arroyo critic. Another MBC stalwart who will not hesitate criticizing Arroyo is AIM trustee Bobby De Ocampo who also served in FVR’s cabinet. I saw all three together with another MBC heavyweight, Joey Cuisia of Philam, rushing out of Philamlife Tower at the height of the protest march when about 60-80 thousand people converged at the corner of Ayala and Paseo De Roxas to cheer Jun Lozada and Joey De Venecia. JAZA, a nephew of MBC founder Enrique Enzo Zobel, was not around but I was sure he was watching from his office at the 34th floor of the adjacent Ayala Triangle Tower I.

The MBC’s 450 member companies are majority anti-Gloria, if not, then all it’s top officers would have been replaced by now, right? The opposition to this MBC leadership comes from a faction led by Vivienne Yuchengko of RCBC/YGC and her lapdogs in the Stock Exchange. I’m sure ATR Kim Eng, where Buboy Macapagal pushes his weight around as if he owns the place (or does he?), joins Vivienne and maybe Iggy Pidal’s ex – Alicia – too. It was common talk after that event that an MBC officer was threatened by Malacañang that his companies will face hard times with BIR that made the business mogul clam up. Although unnamed, I have a strong hunch that it was Jaime Augusto Z.A. himself who was called. Look how quiet he is nowadays.

  147. bitchevil bitchevil

The MBC might have turned anti-GMA; but the Concepcions’ role is also important. Most of all, The Fil-Chinese Business Community remains to be Gloria’s silent supporter. But anyway, the Tsinoys usually cling on whoever is in power.

  148. chi chi

The time is now ripe for those anti-Gloria businessmen to show that they are on our side.

  150. bitchevil bitchevil

Not only the Evil Bitch knows Noli would not betray her, she knows that he has no ability to lead the nation. Unknown to many people, Noli is very rich these days. He has made a killing out of the housing projects and OFW. He plays golf with gambling lords. He has a fleet of luxury vehicles parked in his home garage.

  151. In the last days of Marcos’ rule, it was the businessmen who led the protest movement. In Ayala Ave. and everywhere in Makati, CEOs led their staff in Friday confetti parades and motorcades. I was with an NDC-owned company then but our president even encouraged those of us with cars to join the motorcades. She was later chastised by then DPWH Sec. Aber Canlas who sat on the company’s Board. She did not heed Canlas’ warning and even wore a Ninoy pin on the next Board meeting. The Chairman then was Fred Velayo, the letter “v” in SGV, who took out his own pin and stuck it into his coat’s lapel in front of Canlas. Such defiance of Marcos’ subalterns by GOCC elite was true bravery at that time.

    Today’s CEOs are just cowards.

  152. bitchevil bitchevil

The Business elites, the CEOs are all connested to the big guys in the West. The reason why those CEOs openly opposed Marcos was Uncle Sam already gave his blessing to oust Marcos after Ninoy’s assassination. Remember, talks are still ripe until today that it could be CIA’s work…and FVR was their guy.

  153. bitchevil bitchevil

Ninoy’s assassination just like that of JFK and other unsolved crimes would remain unsolved because the masterminds were the most notorious group in the world…either CIA or Mafia. Even popular Martial Arts star Bruce Lee’s death is still a mystery reportedly a Chinese Mafia hit.

  154. chi chi

    Tongue,

I would like to see the businessmen leading the protest movement again this time.

  155. chi,
I can only surmise that their constant dealings with the corrupt government has made them immune to corruption. In the past, many business leaders would rather take a low profile and make meager profits instead of being seen cavorting with the powers-that-be. But time changed all that. When every transaction with gov’t, big or small, requires a “token” to expedite processing, CEOs can no longer deny that they have been “unclean” themselves so no matter what they say, their people already know how they respond to matters that deal with corruption.

From the P50 “tip” that the messenger handed to the City Hall clerk, to the millions of pesos the CFO “rewarded” the BIR director with to save on taxes, the CEO sees them all. And in order to continue to make profit for his principals or his investors, he will continue to pay bribes and kickbacks so that his business will survive or else it would be devoured by the next crony corporation interested in its line of business or by his present competitor who plays it dirty.

And when all these practices are documented to confront him should he begin to rat against the officials, they hide their tails between their legs.

Blackmail is the only antidote to greed. This government knows it very well.

  156. Iyong lagay system, Tongue, sakit na iyan ng mga pilipino even before Marcos became the president.

You’re right nothing can be done or one cannot get what he wants from any agency in the government without the “lagay.” Joke nga noon, “Sinong abogado mo?”

The first time I was asked that question was when I was applying for something in one government agency in the Philippines. I was surprised because I knew that I was supposed to pay only a certain amount and need not hire the services of a lawyer if I could do it myself. Iyon pala iyon ang amount ng perang ilalagay mo based on the picture in the money being asked. Kung si Rizal, isang piso ba iyon?

Shocking talaga! Worse now, I guess, with the magnanakaw establishing this lagay thing as a Philippine institution.

Siguro tama si Joma Sison to embrace armed struggle as the only means to eliminate graft and corruption in the Philippines—but on condition that his own men would be one of those to be exterminated for a lot many of them in the NPA, etc. cannot say that they are not free from graft and corruption, too, which is a lamentable state that I have observed they are likewise in and contaminated with.

    Kawawang bansa!
