I am humbled by this expression of support.
Not one to shirk away from the challenges and responsibilities, I accept the mantle of leadership bestowed upon me by the collective wisdom of the leaders and followers of the various reformist groups.
I will do justice to the trust and I commit myself to the attainment of the aspirations for a country of peace,progress and prosperity.
Statement of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, through its spokesman Lt. Col. Ernesto Torres:
1.It is the inherent right of everyone to express his thoughts and his support to anyone or anything as an invocation of freedom of expression;
2.Likewise, everyone who desires to serve the country and the people are given opportunities to do so, as long as none of these threatens our national security;
3. However, the pronouncement of support ismhighly questionable, as retired Maj. Gen. Johnny Gomez, who is alleged to be one of the signatories, denied joining the group of BGen Danny Lim and expressing his support for the cause. Apparently, his name was used without his consent;
4. The AFP in all ranks and at all levels of command shall remain loyal to the constitution and the duly constituted authorities;
5. It shall remain free from partisan politics and true to its mandate to protect the Filipino people and to preserve the integrity of the country;
6. Any digression from the sworn duty shall not be tolerated.
The Manifesto:
We, the undersigned, hereby officially declare that we have formally united under the leadership of BGen. Danilo “Danny” Lim.
We have agreed to unite for the following reasons:
We aspire for the collective vision of a country of peace, progress and prosperity;

Buti pa magconcentrate ang hanay nina Gen. Lim sa mga Pinoy whoever man sila sapagka’t dito sa mga matitino ang pag-iisip nakasalalay ang kinabukasan ng bansa at ng taong bayan.
Ang mga palalo, hudas at magnanakaw sa ating lipunan e dapat yan e wag isasali sa pagbabago ng lipunan kasi po e yan ang anay at peste ng lipunan. Tisod e ka nga sa pag-unlad ng pamayanan.
May I suggest that if we engage in any movement, we assure the Armed Forces of the Philippines of the following:
1. We are happily surprised with it´s statement that it recognizes the right to freedom of expression.
2. Our actions in trying to prevent or neutralize anybody from delivering our claims, islands, agricultural lands, information and communications network, tactical geographical assets, economic resources, defense resources and intellectial resources into the hands of foreigners, are precisely responses to remove the threat to our national security.
3. We will settle this pronouncement issue squarely and candidly.
4. A constitution of a nation must have a basis for it’s existence, that is to preserve the integrity and functionality of the society. In our case, it is the Filipino Nation. Since the establishment of several of these constitutions after we were invaded by the Americans in 1898, these have served only to legitimize as part of the country, foreign control of our resources and the economic displacement of us original Filipinos. It also constitutionalized and institutionalized the replication of our dependency and subservience to them from one generation to the next.
5. Our actions mentioned in item number 2 are not partisan politics. To regard such actions as fulfillment of the mandate to protect the Filipino people and preserve the integrity of the nation is only common sense.
6. We should never digress from our duty to fulfill such mandate and we should in fact not tolerate those who will digress.
Assurance of this direction will I think make us one and in harmony with the said institution.

My error of the aforementioned- we were invaded by the Americans not in 1898 but rather in 1899.
Grizzy, they started shooting us Filipinos in February of 1899. This was long after we were already born as a nation in 1898 when we became independent from Spain as we established a republic and a constitution. This strengthens our position that we were already a fulfledged independent and sovereign nation invaded by an equally independent nation- the Ameicans with the subtle coordination of the Chinese. We cannot be their colony anymore but a resisting sovereign nation. Our fight against them is not anymore a revolution but a resistance. And since we have not finished our resistance against them up to today (American and Chinese with the collaboration of GMA, still control our military, economy and education), it is indeed the duty not only of the soldiers among us, but of all of us Filipinos to continue this legitimate action.
This action Col Torres, is a legitimate action. Contradictory to that is treason. We are carrying out what Gen Yano precisely described as, the centuries old tradition of the Filipino soldier.

Sinungaling siya. Pinabasa lang siguro sa kanya ang script. Siguro habang sinasabi niya ito e nagkakamot siya ng puwit at naalala niya si Assperon.
Alam nila na bawal at mali ang ginawa ng AFP ng magdeklara sila ng ‘withdrawal of support’ kay Pres. Estrada noong Edsa 2. “Duly constituted authorities”? Ano siya hilo? Sino ang may sabing ibinoto ng tao si Gloria Ganid? Ang mga maniniwala sa #4 (sa ilalim na pamumuno ni Ganid) ay mga ‘walang sariling bait’, mga duwag, mga sira-ulo, mga buwang, mga mangmang.
In my opinion, the AFP’s statement through Col. Torres is defending BG Lim’s Declaration of Unity and Solidarity. This message, though short is very strong. My interpretation is as follows:
Nos. 1 & 2 – justifies the group’s action was lawful and needs support. The threat to our national security is the regime itself. Its corruptions, injustices, failure to protect the nation from drugs, and etc., all contributes to the death of democracy and the nation as a whole.
No. 3 – Ret. Gen. Johnny Gomez is being used by the group to pretend that he does not belong to the group. In reality, he will be used by the group to eavesdrop on the regime. It is likely that the Palace will call him for information about the group. He will be there to confuse the Palace.
No. 4 – The AFP knows very well that the present regime, GMA to be more specific is not a duly constituted authority. She stole and cheated her presidency.
No. 5 – The military remains apolitical and should appropriate action to regain the integrity of the country.
No 6 – the military’s sworn duty is to protect the constitution. The present regime is known to be very unconstitutional. It is the military’s duty to restore the constitution by first, kicking out the unconstitutionally seated president.
Haphazards belong to the realm of propaganda. Publishing the manifesto prematurely can not achieve the impact desired even on a commemoration of an infamous revolution. It has to speak the truth, but now comes the retractions. First, we are not even sure how many of those ‘signatories’ are no longer Pinoys, and how many supporters are serving other flags and only want to see us reel again in another failed attempt. Its like in a burial someone pushes you into the hole.

I am inclined to believe that the term “military intelligence” is a paradox.

It is very sad indeed that the AFP we now have is reduced to Armed Forces of the Pidals. It is solely functioning to protect the pandak and her family and not the people. Killings are on the rise. Drugs line up the streets and have invaded the youth. Lawlessness is a common occurence. Corruption is in all levels of the government. Yet, the AFP is just guarding ONLY the PIDAL family and no other else!

I also agree that Erap should hang up his gloves politically. But the fact remains that his endorsement to any candidate helps a lot.
