Ang kapal naman. Kailan ba binoto ng taumbayan si Arroyo na pangulo? Sino siya para gumawa ng isang bagay sa ngalan ng taumbayan ay nang-agaw lang siya ng pwesto sa Malacañang?
Alam ni Pangulong Cory na ang pag-upo ni Arroyo sa Malacañang ay sa pamamagitan ng pandaraya at panloloko kaya nang mabulgar ang “Hello Garci” tapes noong Hunyo ng 2005, pumunta siya sa Malacañang, kasama ang isang obispo, at kinausap si Arroyo na mag-resign.
Siyempre tumanggi si Arroyo. Ngunit hindi niya makalimutan yun at ‘yun ang dahilan na gustong palitan ng maaring maging espiya ang dalawang pinagkatiwalaan ni Cory na security escorts.
Tinanggihan na nga ng pamilyang Aquino ang state funeral dahil ayaw nilang may papel si Arroyo sa huling mga panahon ng nanay nila dito sa mundo. Kung may hiya si Arroyo, dapat tumigil na at respetuhin ang desisyon ng pamilya.
Ngunit para ngang gusto pa lalong inisin ang pamilya, lalo pa si Sen. Noynoy Aquino na nagsabi na kung gusto talaga ni Arroyo na magbigay pugay sa kanyang yumaong ina, pagbutihin niya ang palakad ng pamahalaan. Gawin niya ang nakakabuti para sa taumbayan at hindi yung makatulong sa kanyang pansariling interes.
Siyempre may pasaring ang mga bata ni Arroyo. Sabi ni Olivar: “Sen. Noynoy has already declared his ambition for higher office and is therefore entitled as much as any other politician to use all his available political capital, including invoking the illustrious memory of his heroic parents to reject that gift if he so wishes.”
Parang sinasabi pa ngayon na ginagamit ni Noynoy ang mga yumaong magulang para sa kanyang ambisyon sa pulitika na siyang gawain nila.
Basta,sabi ni Olivar, ituloy nila ang monumento:”Nonetheless, the gift was unconditional and the project will push through.”
Hindi pagpupugay kay Cory ang ginagawa ng Malacañang sa planong monumento kay Cory. Ito ay pang-iinis sa kanyang pamilya. Ganyan kawalanghiya si Arroyo at ang kanyang mga tauhan.

The proposed monument may be illegal. The Phil. Assembly Act 243 granted the right to erect a monument and mausoleum for the remains of Dr. Jose Rizal in Luneta. Later laws provided for the renaming of Luneta Park to Rizal Park. Clearly, this is an exclusive site for Jose Rizal, being the National Hero.
Erecting a monument for Cory in Rizal Park may be the Midget’s way of obscuring historical symbols for she is certain NOT to be treated kindly by history.

I was talking to an official at the Philippine Embassy, and I told him about the registration in Japan.
Over here, it is imperative that a child born to Japanese parents or parent is registered and entered into the family registtry within 14 days from birth if in Japan, or within 90 days if born overseas.
The child is then automatically put into the registry of residence for free medical till he/she reaches the age of 15, and then, for easy tracking till he/she reaches the age of majority, which is 20, and he/she gets to vote.
No need to keep on doing those complicated and useless election registrations as they do in the Philippines. One gets his/her permit to cast his/her vote at least two weeks before election.
There is going to be an election for national and local positions again on the last Sunday of this month, and I already have received my notice. I am thinking of voting for a Minshuto candidate for the national position because I want the government now run by the LDP to be changed, and a Socialist for a local position in my city.
I am just one voter as a matter of fact, but I know my vote counts. Other voters feel the same way, too.

I have never been a real great fan of the former president but must say that I felt a bit of sadness upon learning of her passing away.
I admired her for her courage and her decency. She may have allowed herself to be manipulated in 2001 and helped trigger the violation of the Constitution when Gloria and her husband led a coup d’état against a duly elected president of the republic but in the end, I do believe that she did it out of serious concern for the nation and not for self agrandisement or vested interest.
May she rest in peace.

i think it is ill-timed to discuss the building of a monument for somebody who just died. why not let history be the judge, we are too emotionally attached to the memory of Pres Aquino to really judge her place in history.

FVR got away scott free, because the media, the elite and the church were so busy demonizing Erap, while FVR was laughing and depositing his loot in Zurich, Switzerland.

The news went that because of a car/vehicle which sideswiped her and caused her some brain damaged, she has gone through a lot of personality changes. I read it in an article once. I was shocked— Chula was a classmate of mine.
