Erap edges out Villar in number two position in Magdalo poll

Former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada of Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) has edged out Manuel Villar, Jr. of the Nacionalista Party (NP)in the number two position in the May 10 presidential race in a survey conducted by the Magdalo, a group of reformist junior military officers .

The survey conducted from April 19 to 24 among 3,000 respondents nationwide showed Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino of the Liberal Party leading the race with 39.6 percent followed by Estrada with 24.8 percent and Villar with 23.6 percent.

This is the first survey that showed Estrada having overtaken Villar. Pulse Asia’s survey conducted April 23 to 25 among 1,800 respondents nationwide showed Villar and Estrada tied in second place with 20 percent each.

The rest of the presidential candidates got single digit scores. Gilbert Teodoro, Jr of Lakas-Kampi-CMD got 7 percent; Bangon Pilipinas’ Eduardo “Bro Eddie” Villanueva, 2.6 percent; Richard Gordon, 0.8 percent;Ma. Ana Consuelo “Jamby” Madrigal, 0.2 percent; Ang Kapatiran’s John Carlos “JC” de los Reyes, 0.3 percent; and Nicanor “Nick” Perlas, 0.2 percent.

Data for the vice presidential contest will be released later.

For the senatorial race, the top three in the magic 12 are re-electionists Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. (56.1 percent); Miriam Defensor-Santiago (55.4 percent); and Jinggoy Estrada (53.9 percent).

Number four is former Senate President Franklin Drilon (43.9 percent) followed by incumbent Senate president Juan Ponce-Enrile (41.3 percent) and former senator Sergio Osmeña III (37.4 percent).

Another re-electionist Pia Cayetano is on 7th place with 36.3 percent followed by Ilocos Sur Governor Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr. and former senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.

The two detained military officers made it to the top 12: Brig. Gen. Danny Lim (32.9 percent) and Col. Ariel Querubin (30.3 percent).
Arroyo’s former economic planning secretary Ralph Recto is in number 12 with 26.9 percent.

Within striking distance to the Magic 12 are re-electionist Manuel “Lito” Lapid (25.6 percent); Jose “Joey) de Venecia (25 percent); Satur Ocampo (21.4 percent); Teofisto “TG” Guingona III (21.4 percent); Gilbert Remulla (19 percent); Liza Maza (17.6 percent); Sonia Roco (17.4 percent); and Risa Hontiveros –Baraquel (17.4 percent).

The survey which a margin of error of plus and minus two asked respondents the question:”If elections were held today, who of the candidates (names provided) would you choose?”

Issues in the media during the survey period were the alleged pressure of Villar on the Philippine Securities and Exchange in connection with the stock offering of his real estate company, Vista Land; the clearing by Justice Secretary Alberto Agra of former ARMM Governor Zaldy Ampatuan and his uncle Akmad of murder charges in connection with the Nov. 23 Maguindanao massacre.

The Magdalo headed by Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV has endorsed Villar for president and LP’s mar Roxas for vice-president for the May 10 elections.

Lim at Col. Ariel. Go! Go! Go!… Gentlemen!

Never been in the history of Philippines that we have been so traumatic by GMA regime. For 9 years its worse than Marcos reigns of 21 years. A vote for gibo, villar or gordon will be a vote for GMA. Please let us think of the people who suffered a lot in this 9 years regime. Let us hope we can move forward after this, i.e. our economy, our rotten bureaucracy, our govt institution and mostly a job for each college graduates. Let us all move forward. Whatever the outcome of this election, may all the culprits be brought to jail. All the scandals must be brought to jail, down from garci comelec, fertilizer scam, zte, jueting, ampatuans, etc, etc…

Let the people unite to remove all the evil spirit(s) of GMA & Mike Pidal and all their cohorts.

  11. sychitpin sychitpin

chi: I trust you are aware that Adel Tamano is the errand boy and lying mouthpiece of corrupt villaroyo, birds of the same feathers flock together

  12. Sychitpin, if you really want to be strict about association, this I can tell you: Adel Tamano is much, much more decent person than Ralph Recto, who used to be a Wednesday Club comrade of Villar and is now aligned with Aquino.

You should have heard Recto in rallies. He talks about corruption and abuse of power in the Arroyo government. Hello??? Kailan ka lang ba nag-resign from the government of Arroyo?

But his wife, Vilma, iba. She talks sense. A decent politician.

  13. Isagani Isagani

Despite Erap’s past issues, he is still the most charismatic of all the presidential candidates. It will not be the end of the Philippines, if Erap wins. At least, if he becomes president again, Gloria will surely be made accountable for her sins to the Pilipino people.

Having said that, it’s Noynoy for president. Mar Roxas for vice, if only to ensure harmony in the executive branch.

Incomplete Senator lineup, in no particular order:

    Franklin Drillon
    Sergio Osmena III
    Ralph Recto
    Jinggoy Estrada
    Joey de Venecia
    Teofista Guingona
    Sonia Roco

  14. chi chi

sychitpin, so? Nasagot na ni Ellen why I like Adel.

  15. When almost everybody was bowing to Gloria Arroyo after she grabbed power in 2001, Adel was one of those who questioned the legitimacy of her presidency.

In 2007, Arroyo offered him a hefty sum plus a condo unit for him to join the Team Unity ticket. He refused it and instead became a spokesman for the Genuine Opposition.

  16. balweg balweg

RE: hehehe. . .si Pader talaga. .

Faeldon, i’m glad he is still kicking and alive. Mabuhay ka Kapitan!

    RE: Susunod na isyu:

    “Erap edges out Noynoy”

    Coming soon!!!!!!!

    At qualified naman sa position coz’kita naman ang accomplishment niya sa buhay like as;

1)serving as mayor of San Juan for seventeen years.

    2)as Senator for one term.

3)then as Vice President of the Philippines under the administration of President Fidel Ramos.

4)In 2000 he declared an “all-out-war” against the Moro Islamic Liberation Front and captured it’s headquarters and other camps (46 all in all ha).

5)He played the lead role in more than 100 movies, and was producer of over 70 films. He was the first FAMAS Hall of Fame awardee for Best Actor (1981) and also became a Hall of Fame award-winner as a producer (1983).

6)In 1974 he founded the Movie Workers Welfare Foundation (Mowelfund) which helps movie makers through medical reimbursements, hospitalization, surgery and death benefits, livelihood, and alternative income opportunities and housing.

7)Its educational arm, the Mowelfund Film Institute, has produced some of the most skilled and respected producers, filmmakers, writers and performers in both the independent and mainstream sectors of the industry since its inception in 1979.

8)He also founded, together with Dr. Guillermo De Vega, the first Metro Manila Film Festival in 1975.

    9)Awards and Honors
1962 FAMAS Best Actor for Markang Rehas.
1964 FAMAS Best Actor for Geron Busabos.
1966 FAMAS Best Actor for Ito ang Pilipino.
1969 FAMAS Best Actor for Patria Adorada.
1971 Outstanding Mayor and foremost Nationalist by the Inter-Provincial Information Service.
1972 One of the Ten Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) in Public Administration by the Philippine Jaycees.
1981 FAMAS Best Actor for Kumander Alibasbas.
    1981 FAMAS Hall of Fame.
2007 Most Outstanding Citizen of San Juan

    Marami pang iba…

But gusto kong mapasama sa listahan sina Col. Querubin at Gen.

What I admired about Adel Tamano is when he showed his displeasure in public when Remulla visited Ampautan.

RE: What I admired about Adel Tamano is…?

  29. Mike Mike

    My partial list…

    Ralph Recto
    Lito Lapid
    Jinggoy Estrada

  36. vonjovi2 vonjovi2

    o:)

So long, Gibo.

  38. chi,
Otherwise, we have the same votes except for Alex Lacson whom I know nothing about. And a blank president. So far.

    anna,

  41. florry florry

Loyalty is one virtue that Filipinos are known for. So if we consider loyalty as the game changer in this election, there’s a very big possibility that Erap will win this second time around. Most of his followers are diehard loyalist though some strayed, lured by Villar’s fake portrayal of his poor beginnings and massive infomercials.

But, now they are finally waking up to the reality of who Villar is and 99% of the masa votes “stolen” by Villar will be back to Erap and not to Noynoy. They know that the circle of Noynoy is exclusive and they will just be treated as outsiders looking in from the outside. They know that Noynoy represents the elite, the rich and the snobs who are mostly anti poor and Erap is still for the mahirap. That will be the make up of the difference.

With that looming in the horizon, it’s possible that this election will be a repeat of the 1998.

    It’s Erap pa rin!

  56. baycas2 baycas2

By now many are finalizing their list of chosen candidates for May 10. Good luck but please don’t forget the tips to consider come D-Day. Remember we’re automated (kuno)…baka may masayang na boto. Some of these are:

    1. Mr. Diaz said that the ballot is very, very sensitive to marks, ink, H20, stains, scratches, folds, sweat, etc. If, say, you have grime on your hands, or your hands are wet, or your sweat drops onto the ballot, the PCOS (Precinct Count Optical Scan) Unit will not read it. So, keep your hands very clean before voting. That is why the indelible ink will be put on your finger after you’re done voting, and not before, and why you will be given your ballot in a folder, a “Ballot Secrecy Folder”, so that you can lessen the actual handling of the ballot with your hands.

    3. Mr. Diaz said that there will be a barcode going around the ballot. If this is marked, even scratched, in any way, the ballot will be spoiled. He said that if anyone else handles the ballot, watch them well, in case they intentionally scratch the barcode with a fingernail to prevent your ballot from being counted. He used as an example that if you’re obviously for a candidate that, say, an unscrupulous precinct official is against (hopefully, there’s no such thing as an unscrupulous precinct official ;-P), that official may scratch your barcode to prevent your vote from being counted.

This was copy-pasted from Kenneth Yu’s list of helpful election tips.

May the rightful ones win and may the losers be all mature statesmen.

  57. chi chi

  59. Hello… Thanks, Ellen.

It’s done. Drove to the “border” and it should be on its way by Monday 09h00.

  60. Hi Chi and Tongue

Called my brother last night — he said Acosta was a good fellow. Included him. Thanks.

  61. This has been the second most difficult voting I’ve experienced this last many years.

In 1998, I was torn between voting for JdV and Erap. JdV was my friend but I also knew Estrada who had always been gracious to me since he was VP.

In 2004, it was simple. I defied family by voting for Ping.

This time, I vascilated between Aquino and Erap up to the last minute.

  62. Gordon was out of the question. He’s got to first resolve a personal and behavioural problems, eg., deal with his anger management if he wants to be taken seriously one day. He also owes me something. He made me and a friend work on one of his ideas and then decided to drop it without the courtesy of letting us know that he wasn’t pursuing it. The president of the OFW association here is furious with him too because Gordon insulted the group of Filipinos who had come to hear him speak when he was Sec of Tourism.

Teodoro, who, to my mind, could have hacked it, i.e., he had the education and enough gravitas to make a go of it, became a collateral damage in Gloria’s war against the people (yep in the war she waged against the people and not the other way around).

Villar had always been a no no while the others just didn’t have the stature to even begin to win. That’s how I arrived at my short list: Erap v Aquino.

  63. Ellen,

Wasn’t easy — none of them was qualified in my book and worse, they are all surrounded by corrupt wealthy individuals who will eventually end up being wealthier and greedier and perhaps, doubly abusive.

[As I’ve said I voted for Erap in 1998 — had campaigned for him, raised funds for him, etc., but voting for Erap today would be out of vengeance because “they”,i.e., Gloria and the rest of them, violated the Constitution…]

So decided to look at it from a different angle, i.e., re-define my objective (as if I was studying the best line of attack in order to attain objective with the least bit of casualties) 🙂 : bring down the enemy — Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

The only major candidate who has so far specified that he would finally prosecute Arroyo and make sure the corruption cases against her and her cronies were brought to court was Aquino.

Hence, I came to the conclusion that that there would be less casualties if we attacked the enemy stronghold by way of “the Aquino Pass.” So Aquino got my vote.

  64. Oblak Oblak

People wants to know the truth.

  67. baycas2 baycas2

    Anna,

but voting for Erap today would be out of vengeance because “they”,i.e., Gloria and the rest of them, violated the Constitution…

Thinking about the Constitution, in the recent SC decision of allowing gloria to appoint the next CJ – this is unconstitutional and yet we succumb to the SC decision, right or wrong.

The Erap qualification (to run as president) is, I believe, unconstitutional too as the Comelec 2nd Division has allowed him to run. Nicodemo Ferrer et al based their flawed reasoning from Erap lawyers’ also flawed reasoning.

Well, the Comelec en banc hasn’t decided on it yet. More so the SC! The LAST THING we need is another DIVISIVE issue when Erap will become president again for I’m pretty sure protests will be thrown left and right.

We just need to take gloria out of the system and resurrect our dead institutions. Catharsis or purgation then salvage are what are necessary!

Good for you to take “the Aquino Pass.” Be it a “Hail Mary Pass” or not, I don’t know, but we’re probably on the same boat towards “redemption.”

P.S. Didn’t like to influence my “senatoriables” so I didn’t look at yours. I won’t even recommend even one now (as I suggested a “vote-straight” GO + Martin Bautista before). I have a suspicion they would want the Senate dissolved anyway in the near future, as Charter Change will be the next agenda. So, probably, as a suggestion, go for those Senators that will possibly maintain to the bitter end “check and balance” in government.

  68. I have a suspicion they would want the Senate dissolved anyway in the near future, as Charter Change will be the next agenda.

You really think so, Baycas? I suppose with Gloria poised to win her Pampanga district by hook or by crook, there’s every chance that she might win the speakership and from there she and her future allies in Congress will work towards charter change day and night.

  69. The LAST THING we need is another DIVISIVE issue when Erap will become president again for I’m pretty sure protests will be thrown left and right.

That’s for sure! And I admit, I opted for the more cowardly tactic, i.e., attack on the enemy [Gloria] stronghold by way of “the Aquino Pass.”

  70. luzviminda luzviminda

  71. Luz,

Let’s hope the people of her Pampanga district will take note and not vote for her. But we all know that this is wishful thinking.

  72. luzviminda luzviminda

Alam mo ba ang numbers game dito is source of 9% of national budget?

Imagine the national take on jueteng if only it weren’t illegal and if only Gloria were not the protector and coddler of these illegal numbers game thieves!

  77. luzviminda luzviminda

By masa, I suppose, you mean part of the population coming from by Classes D and E?

Actually, I believe there is a vast number of people who aren’t necessarily maka-masa or from the masa, who remain staunchly pro-Erap today not so much because of the man but because of the injustice committed against him.

  81. luzviminda luzviminda

That’s also true Anna dahil talaga namang conspiracy yun ng mga GREEDY for Power. That why I also use the word MAKA-masa to include also those that are not really from the D and E classes, but also who sympathises with the plight of the majority of the Pinoys.

  82. By the way, does anyone know what Kaakbay Partylist is all about? Is it good? Thanks.

  83. I have nothing personal against Erap, like all the candidates I have not met him and I don’t have any first hand knowledge of who they really are, just bits and pieces we get from the newspapers, television, and day to day conversations from people I do know. Erap is probably the only politician who indirectly extended his hospitality to me and my family, having spent christmas in his Tanay home.

Looking at the list of his achievements mentioned above I can’t help but notice that the bulk of which is from being an actor. Well, that might mean a lot for some people but for me being a good actor/actress means being good at what else “acting” or pretending to be someone else, “in character” this makes a person capable of saying one thing and doing the opposite, or lying with a straight face, without breaking a sweat. This is not a good foundation for “character” which we desperately need in our leaders.

TOYM awards coming from the jaycees of sorts, we all know that these are given as tokens of appreciations for supporting the programs, activities, or more appropriately advocacies of these organizations…then again we can all trace it back to a hefty donation/s…

If we are to look at achievements, they should be specific and measurable like “did he directly/indirectly improve the economy while he was at the helm?”,”did local businesses thrive?”, and more importantly “was his administration able to bring in substantial foreign investment?” and I don’t just mean floating casinos. Then again, there were multinationals that pulled out because of corruption related issues during his term.
What about crime rate? Was he able to curb it? Looks to me that if it were not for Lacson, it would have been disastrous.

The moslem insurgency cannot be solved simply by wiping out all the suspected insurgents alone, in the movies this could look really nice but when your enemy is in guerilla warfare mode you can’t tell which is the enemy from the civilian and a shotgun approach of blasting everything in sight is the best recruitment method for rebels and of course motivation for funding from foreign sources who see their poor brothers and sisters in faith being treated injustly…and flying in lechon, feasting, drinking and gloating in plain sight of moslems who lost their homes, their land, family, may be good policy for some people but not for me.

Jueting was the only case that got pinned on Erap, why, I really don’t know, when there were more serious ones like SEC manipulation (BW Resources), money laundering, smuggling, and the like that would have been tantamount to economic sabotage…if we were China, he could have been shot already.

All of the above could still be forgivable, being a more or less christian country…but what about the tiny, easy to dismiss, irrelevant issue of respect for women. Personally, even if I’m a macho Filipino, I do not subscribe to having multiple wives, multiple families, even is you give each one of them money, houses, businesses…the last time I looked we were catholics…why?
Personally, I look at this as sabotaging the basic unit of society, the family…we can’t go around irresponsibly getting women pregnant out of wedlock and strut like the neighborhood cock. It just isn’t right, and any way I look at it, it involves lying, cheating, taking undue advantage of women…of course, some people will say that these women brought it uon themselves, but I still believe that men are in control, when a woman falls in love with you, no matter how high her IQ is, she will put everything on the line, her life, her future, her dignity for you…its up to us as men to do the responsible thing…

His “maka masa” approach is not only misleading but dangerous as it divides the Filipinos, pitting the poor against the rich – he might be more successful in fomenting class enmity, class envy, class misery, and class war than the NPA indoctrinators…We need someone who can unify and not capitalize on this age old rift between the rich and poor.

Thats why I cannot in good conscience vote for this man…then again I’m only one man…

  84. Oblak Oblak

Mr. Jug, count me in, we are now two.

RE: Looking at the list of his achievements mentioned above I can’t help but notice that the bulk of which is from being an actor?

To see is to believe an obsolete belief….believe and you will see the goodness and honesty of a person innerself like President Erap or either you guys.

Ibig bang sabihin ang accomplishment ng Pangulong Erap as an actor and public servant e walang kwenta sa ibang Pinoy?

    Such as;

(1)In 1972, he was selected as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) in Public Administration by the Philippine Jaycees.

(2)He was also voted Outstanding Mayor and foremost Nationalist by the Inter-Provincial Information Service in 1971 and awarded the coveted title, “Most Outstanding Metro Manila Mayor,” the following year by the Philippine Princeton Poll.

(3)His administration of San Juan was marked by unequaled accomplishments in infrastructure development. These included the establishment of the first (a) San Juan Municipal High School, (b) the Agora complex, (c) a modern slaughterhouse, (d) a sprawling Government Center with a post Office, (e) a mini-park and the concreting of 98 percent of San Juan’s roads and alleys.

    (4) He relocated some 1,800 squatter families out of San Juan to Taytay, Rizal, at no cost to the affected families.

(5)He was also the first mayor to computerize assessment of the Real Estate Tax in the Municipal Assessor’s Office.

(6)He is the Founder and President of the ERAP Para sa Mahirap Foundation, a foundation that offers scholarship assistance to poor but deserving college students. Through the foundation’s educational grants, more than a thousand students have since earned a college degree.

(7)He also established a)the San Juan Progress Foundation, b)the San Juan Police and Fire Trust Fund and c) the Friends of Joseph Estrada, which offers free burial assistance for the poor folks of San Juan.

(8)In 1987, he set his sights on a Senate run and handily garnered a seat. He was appointed Chairman of the Committee on Public Works. He was Vice-Chairman of the Committees on Health, Natural Resources and Ecology and Urban Planning.

(9)In the Senate, Joseph Ejercito Estrada was credited with the passage of, among other major pieces of legislation, the bills on irrigation project and the protection and propagation of carabaos, the beast of burden in the rural areas.

(10)As a senator, he was one of the so-called “Magnificent 12” who voted to terminate the RP-US Military Bases Agreement leading to the withdrawal of American servicemen from the Clark Air Base in Pampanga and the Subic Naval Base in Zambales.

(11)In 1989, the Free Press cited him as one of the Three Outstanding Senators of the Year. He was conferred the degree of Doctor of Humanities, Honoris Causa by the Bicol University in April 1997, and the University of Pangasinan in 1990.

NOTE: Si Noynoy ba e mayroong doctorate na tinanggap during his tenure as Congressman or Senator?????

(12)He won as Vice-President in 1992 under a mixed ticket, was also designated as Presidential Adviser on Crime Prevention and Law Enforcement with a Cabinet rank and served concurrently as Chairman of the Presidential Anti-Crime Commission (PACC). AS PACC chairman, he was a member of the National Security Council.

(13)The notable accomplishments of the PACC against kidnappers and bank robbers, together with “hoodlums in uniform,” “hoodlums in robes” and illegal recruiters, earned for Chairman Estrada a performance rating of 85 percent in public opinion polls.

(14)He funded the Philippine Drug Abuse Resistance Education (PhilDARE) Program on August 24, 1993, to address the growing problem of drug abuse among the youth.

(15)He reached the pinnacle of his political career when he was elected President of the Republic in the May 11, 1998 national elections. With almost 11-million Filipinos writing his name on the ballot, his margin of victory was the biggest ever registered in Philippine electoral history.

(16)Determined to bring his pro-poor platform to every facet of the government’s operations, he immediately ordered the removal of all sovereign guarantees on contracts for public projects which would require the sovereign Filipino people to assume the financial losses of private companies doing business with the government. Records will show that until January 20, 2001, he did not sign a single government contract with a sovereign guarantee.

(17)He ordered the investigation of suspected big-time tax evaders even if some of these individuals had contributed to his presidential campaign.

  86. balweg balweg

Believe and you will see the TRUTH of President Erap!

(18)The Estrada administration undertook an aggressive housing program on a national basis, targeting low-cost homes for the poor.

(19)Agriculture received greater priority, while the national government likewise took steps to bring down the cost of medicine.

(20)From June to July of 2008, Estrada’s civic calendar had him bringing humanitarian and relief missions to several provinces severely affected by torrential rains and floods spawned by typhoon Frank. Together with well-meaning friends and associates, Estrada toured devastated barangays and communities in the Panay peninsula – including Iloilo, Aklan, and more recently Romblon – to distribute relief packs of rice, medicines, and canned goods. His visits included meetings with local officials to determine how best to assist these communities in the long-haul goal of rising from the ruins.

    (21)Legislative Records
•As senator, he sponsored 2 bills that were eventually signed into law:
•RA 7307 or The Preservation of the Carabao in 1992
•RA 6978 or the The Construction of Irrigation Projects in 1991

(source: http://www.c-r.org/our-work/accord/philippines-mindanao/chronology.php)

    jug:

    I detailed the achievements here:

    http://www.frauslatet.blogspot.com/

This is not to convince you to vote for Erap. But those who decide to do so do it not without reason.

Being for the poor is not necessarily detrimental to the rich. When the poor are empowered economically, the rich ultimately benefit, because the poor buy from the shops of the rich. When the poor are given tax breaks, they buy more from SM or Walmart in the US. When the rich are given the tax breaks, they park it in the banks, which benefits no one but the banks. In the Philippines, they park it in offshore banks. That is why I am against the VAT in the Philippines, and tax breaks for the rich courtesy of George Bush.

Bush said that giving tax breaks to the rich encourages investment; not true. McDonald’s will not fry more burgers and open more stores because it has more money. It will fry more burgers if more people are buying. So, counter-intuitively, when you give more money to the poor, it produces more investment, and ultimately benefits the rich.

The above approach has been proven by FDR and Deng Xiao Ping. FDR embarked on massive spending, which saved the US from the Great Depression, as written about here:

    http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,954983-6,00.html

Deng’s land reform helped produce the economic miracle that is modern day China.

Awaiting moderation na naman daw ang post. I think I have found the problem. Copying and pasting a link, one should not include the “http”.

  88. Balweg,

I admire your steadfastness. You deserve to be part of Erap’s official staff if he is elected/re-elected president.

    Best of luck.

  89. balweg balweg

    Tnx. Ms. Anna!

I admired him NOT because He is babaero or other weaknessess ng pobre, BUT naging palaban ako dahil sa pangwawalanghiya ng mga kinauukulan na dustain nila ang Saligang Batas at apakan ang karapatan ng 11 milyong botante na malayang naghalal ng pangulo last 1998.

    Couldn’t agree with you more!

  91. Balweg,

    Are you a priest?

  92. balweg balweg

To God be The Glory Ms. Anna!

All my life e naisurender ko na sa Lord…i have ONLY simple life, even i’m away from home and family.

During my studies sa Manila e dito ako tinawag ng Lord…(at salamat kundi e isa narin akong rebelde), my dream e maging isang Priest but because i’m 2nd son sa aming pamilya e i need to help my parents kaya i pursued my career at heto pinadpad sa ibayong dagat.

I have a simple life…kay Lord, sa pamilya at sa kapwa-tao.

Walang masang tinapay sa akin…but i’m strict regarding sa buhay!

  93. Thanks, Balweg for this insight into your life. If any consolation, God does not sleep.

  94. luzviminda luzviminda

    Balweg and Sax,
No need to add more. Morality issue? Humans were tempted and commit mistakes. NO one is perfect as the bible says. But compared nuon, Erap is now reformed and I believed more closer to God.

Balweg, I agree with Anna, you should be in Erap’s staff. Salute to you Brother!

  95. luzviminda luzviminda

“Kaya itong old sayings sa Pinas, na ” Crab mentality ng Pinoy e existing hanggang ngayon”. Hahatakin ka pabagsak at kung purdoy na ang Pinoy e saka lilibakin at pagtatawan.”

Yun na nga eh, pag hindi nakatapos sa kolehiyo eh mababa ang tingin. Although, Education is really important. Experience and Maturity also counts a lot. Maturity hindi sa edad ha but hoe a person deals with the situation. And besides, one can accomplish great things even though he has not graduated college.

  99. Tedanz Tedanz

Ano to … birds of the seym peder … sama sama together … oh my goli

being a former newsman, gilbert showed to everybody what kind of a person he is and that is a politician with zero decency.

sabagay, what do you expect from the son of a landgrabber.

as for other senatoriables. definite ako

joey de venecia (for showing guts sa zte – nbn)
rizza hontiveros baraquel (siya ang may balls and as chiz describes binay may B.

yung iba, still studying but remember, we are allowed to vote for 12 senators or less.

  101. Oblak Oblak

Bagama’t may caveat si Jinggoy na “There should be no strings attached with GMA”, imposibleng ihiwalay si Teodoro kay GMA!

    Pader, pakipaliwanag nga ito!!!

  102. luzviminda luzviminda

  103. chi chi

Tedanz, don’t panic, hehehe. As it is, meron syang laban lalo at iindorso sya ng INC.

  104. luzviminda luzviminda

  107. Mike Mike

Gibo knows that he’s been had by Gloria, that he never was her candidate to begin with. If there is someone who’s gonna give up the race, it’s not gonna be the old man with the mustache. Why would Erap give up the race when he is already number 2 in the surveys? Unless the rumors about his ****** were true. *wink, wink*

I also believe that Erap knows his chances of winning is 50/50, his main objective of course is to win, but there’s another objective I think we wanted to pursue, and that is to foil the chances of Villar to become the next president. Remember that Erap said that a Villar presidency is very dangerous.

  108. Oblak Oblak

  109. The magic number is 8.8, yung percentage na kailangan ni Erap para maka-tie at tuluyang umovertake kay Noynoy.

Kung solid talaga ang Iglesia, kung meron silang at least isang milyong boto, that is 2% of 50M voters. Merong 9% undecided, kung equally divided yan kina Noynoy, Erap & Villar, another 3% so merong 5% na bagong boto si Erap. All he needs is 3.8% (or more) from the sliding down Villar (and maybe one or two percent from Noynoy for insurance).

3.8% is 1.9M voters. How do you get additional 1.9M captive voters? This is where experience (and dirty tricks) come in.

We’re entering the final week of the campaign, this will be the dirtiest part. Crap will be flying everywhere.

  110. chi chi

INC for Erap. Quiboloy for Gibo. CBCP patago kay Noynoy. Eddie Villanueva for himself. Kawawa naman si Villarroyo, not even Mike Velarde wants him now. hik!hik!hik!

  111. luzviminda luzviminda

    Oblak,

  112. luzviminda luzviminda

This caught my attention in a blogsite:
An open letter to Noynoy of his former classmate in Ateneo about Noynoy’s Major Depressive Disorder

    http://kalderetangkwento.blogspot.com/

  113. luzviminda luzviminda

The articles about Noynoy’s Major Depressive Disorder. The letter from someone named aka “Tomcat”
Medyo may laman. Even mentioning names of some persons.

  114. The worst case scenario would be Arroyo’s minions (Villar, Gibo) allied with Erap against Noynoy as they seemed to have gathered momentum from large block voters (compromises have been made, arrangements perhaps?)
The opposition has been split successfully…If Noynoy wins, Arroyo and Erap will have hell to pay as it the new administration will have the power to dig up their skeletons whereas is they are able to continue their reign (especially if Lacson is allowed to return), all sins will be forgiven and secrets buried forever. They will do everything to keep these secrets hidden…
Its obvious that there was a long term plan when Erap was pardoned…notice how Erap’s chuchuwariwaps embrace Gibo willingly with open arms and legs…an Erap/Gibo alliance will succeed in where Villar failed…

What I’ve been pointing out is that Erap’s judgment is flawed, of course tao lang, mahina…then again do we want this? How some people put morality in the backseat escapes me, what? okay lang? there’s something wrong here, most definitely…You mean to say men can brazenly have as many women as they want, as many children out of wedlock, say sorry, all is forgiven because tao lang? Of course he can forgiven but must pay a price – he cannot lead as he has no moral high ground to speak of, he will always sound hypocritical when he corrects others.

With this type of flawed principles, what are the basis for his decision making?

Moslem insurgency cannot be solved in one battle alone, we may win some now but lose the war in the long run…and remember, these are also Filipinos…this is not a cowboy and indians movie… 🙂

  115. Oblak,

    —————————–

Wow! This means Arroyo (via Gibo)/Erap alliance when the Villar gambit fails. What is Erap’s stand on the Marcoses billions? Well, its looking lore like Arroyo/Erap/Marcoses against Noynoy – all plunderers must flock together to protect their interests because if a new kid hits the block shit will hit the ceiling – Malabanan will be so happy!

  116. If ever there was an achievement of Erap that is worth celebrating is that we have proven that we can kick out a president if we don’t like him, no one is above the law… we prosecute presidents 🙂

  117. Lurker Lurker

Luzviminda, Noynoy’s REAL classmates have already disproven the letter, its contents and signatory, as false. Noynoy’s REAL classmates, and the teacher the letter mentioned have already written to say that the contents are pure fiction.

Take note that those writing in Noynoy’s defense have given their REAL names, unlike that “TOMCAT”, who is hiding his identity. Obviously another desperate attempt to smear a candidate.

It didn’t work before, so why do those people think it will work this time? Try and try until you die seems to be their mantra.

They surely must be lacking in original and creative campaign ideas!

  118. Luz,

Honestly, I don’t think his having consulted a shrink (true or false) should even be an issue. It would be a different matter if it’s proven that he’s been committed to a psychiatric hospital but it’s not the case.

But I do understand where some people are coming from kasi naman, Noynoy Aquino does look tanga in some of his poses but again, those tanga poses can’t and shouldn’t serve as proof that he’s debilitated.

  119. Lurker Lurker

Anna, hahaha.

But when was the presidency a question of handsomeness or being photo/tele genic?

  120. Lurker,

Shoudln’t be 🙂 as far as I’m concerned. Maski kamukha ni Pakyaw as president, ok sa akin if he’s fair, knows what is right from wrong, honest, hardworking and not an idiot at all.

  121. luzviminda luzviminda

    Anna, Lurker,

I know that it is election time and black propagandas are flying all over. But we are talking here of the highest and powerful political position in the land. We are to examine everything even these blackops. What if there is some truth to it. Of course madali lang namang mag-deny eh. Some of the questions bugging me about Nyoynyoy is why he is still a bachelor at 50? Why is his job experiences, inspite of his educational credentials and family connections, are like an ordinary newly grad? HIs execessive smoking? And why would Kris said in one interview that she will take care of Nyoynyoy instead of the other way around? It is only now that Nyoynyoy is under a microscope. A lot of people do not know his pasts. If there is truth to it, and what if he is in an international meeting and suddenly makes a scene? Election is very near and we have to know THE THRUTH very fast!

  122. luzviminda luzviminda

Noynoy’s REAL classmates, and the teacher the letter mentioned have already written to say that the contents are pure fiction.-Anna

Anna, there are other sides of the fence, Ilan ba ang naging classmates ni Nyoynyoy? How about those other people in the school who MAY have witnessed his actions? I know we all care for our country. We want to get out of this nightmares Gloria and the EDSA2 conspirators have done to us. We need to have the RIGHT President to lead us.

  123. Luz,

“Noynoy’s REAL classmates, and the teacher the letter mentioned have already written to say that the contents are pure fiction”

    Lurker said that, not me…

Anyway, as far as I’m concerned his being a bachelor poses no problem. Maybe, he’s gay. And frankly, that’s no problem to me either.

  124. Luz,

    HIs execessive smoking?

Admittedly, it’s a bad habit just like excessive wining, too much drinking, alcoholic beverages in excess, etc.

A lot of people do not know his pasts
    Hmmm… you’re right.

  125. If there is truth to it, and what if he is in an international meeting and suddenly makes a scene?

Like what scene? You mean, maghubad in public? Chic alors! Wow! That will be sumpthin. I’d like to see that… 🙂

Yep, there’s a lot of “ifs” but there’s a lot of ifs as far as the other candidates are concerned.

But this one is not an “if”… When Erap was due to visit France, on a state visit, his right hand man, Cardenas made it plain that Erap “would like to receive the visit of a blond and a brunette “for hire”.” The French Secret Service were duly informed just in case some blond or brunette scheduled to pay him a nocturnal visit was a murdering psycho.

Cross my heart and hope to die… totoo yan.

  126. chi chi

hahaha!!! Nag-blondie pala si Erapski sa France…hehehe!

  127. Chi,

Hindi nakarating siya… It was cancelled because of the Sipadan Hostage crisis, tapos, impeachment.

Pero request ni Eki yang blond and brunette: Dalawa pa! 🙂

  128. luzviminda luzviminda

Ooops sorry Anna. I should have addressed that(#131) to Lurker.

  129. luzviminda luzviminda

“Like what scene? You mean, maghubad in public?”

Hah, huwag naman sana ganyan. Sobrang kahihiyan yan. But the alleged report,(blackop if you insist) said about his mood swings, very nice then very angry without reason. Like spitting food in the face of another as a joke. Sound silly but who knows? Maybe true or not. People may want to know the madications he maybe taking…. I’ve watched one time in Gma7 24Oras news, that only Kris rode on the float in the campaign because Nyoynyoy had to rest for a while.

  130. saxnviolins saxnviolins

    luz:

That melancholia and depression business is a non-issue to me. Assuming its truth, it is too weak a basis for dissuading Aquino’s voters or the undecided. The black propists could have gained more mileage from the long silence in the legislature, or the incompetence issue. They could have milked his having voted in favor of not airing the Hello Garci tapes.

What? The only son of two democracy icons, ululating freedom of speech and all that, blocked the airing of the Hello Garci tapes on the grounds cited by that Joke Arroyo? He was going to prevent the people from learning the truth about the 2004 elections?

Isa pa. Gandhi-like daw, sabi noong fawning Time magazine article. A gun-freak, Gandhi-like? I would, in fact, use that youtube video of henry90 against him. henry90 thinks it is a positive ad. I beg to differ. A gun-freak president may turn off some people. Also, as jug observed, mukhang may Downs Syndrome at parang tulo laway. So air it, and connect it with that topak issue. Anyway, the video came from his supporters.

  131. Hah, huwag naman sana ganyan. Sobrang kahihiyan yan.

    Luz,

But imagine the fiesta if he does it… 🙂 🙂 🙂

  132. luzviminda luzviminda

    Anna,
Hahaha! The whole international media will really have a fiesta! But would be sad for Pinas’ image.

  133. luzviminda luzviminda

    sax,
I missed that youtube video of Henry90, can you give the link Pls.?

  134. Hahaha! I bet, di lang foreign media, Luz, pati Pinoy media will really have a fiesta.

Don’t worry about Pinas image if he ever does that, after Gloria’s very very ugly and sad performance, a president going naked in public will be fun!

  135. Mike Mike

I don’t see any reason why a candidate doesn’t want to go under a psycho test. Bong Bong Marcos has a good point when he was interviewed by Karen Davilla on her Head Start program. Marcos Jr. said even police men or soldiers need to go through some psycho test before being enlisted, so why not someone who’s going to be the commander in chief of all the armed forces of the Philippines?

  136. Neither do I Mike. But, subject to confirmation by Sax, I think one cannot force candidates to do it.

In fact it would be good if all of them are tested live on TV one by one. Imagine ratings of the TV station that can land the exclusive contract to film the psycho testing. 🙂

  137. Mike Mike

Then I say revised the constitution, and it should include ALL public officials whether appointed or elected. Problem is, baka mag over-flow ang mental hospital. 😛

  138. 🙂 🙂 🙂

I’m sure it won’t pass, Mike. Brenda will oppose that!

  139. And Pedrosa will write against it ad infinitum… 🙂 Maloloko tayong lahat!

  140. Mike Mike

    Anna, I don’t think it’s only Brenda who’ll oppose it. 🙂

Dapat nakalagay sa building ng Congress is “House Of Psychos”. 😛

  141. luzviminda luzviminda

    MIke,

  142. Lurker Lurker

Luzviminda, the whole point is that people who are telling the truth don’t hide behind a pseudonym, like “TOMCAT” did.

Also, there are so many “what ifs” that it’s useless for us to speculate.

And Sax, as for him being a “gun freak,” I happen to have a 30-yr. old NIECE who’s a sharpshooter. Just because a person shoots in a SHOOTING range, doesn’t make him or her a gun freak. A gun freak would be someone, I think, who goes around shooting his gun in public!

So Time magazine compared him to Gandhi. Well, that’s only the writer’s view and he’s entitled to that. Cheers!

  143. saxnviolins saxnviolins

In the decade in which I grew (70s), freak was used to mean an aficionado. A blues freak (me) is one who trips on the blues; a jazz freak (me again) is one who trips on jazz. An acid freak is one who trips on acid (LSD; not me).

So when I said gun freak, I meant one who likes to handle guns; whose sport is shooting guns. Whether that is good or bad depends on the person perceiving, whether voter or acquaintance. So by my decade’s definition, Noynoy is a gun freak; so are all the NRA members, as well as Olympics athletes.

  144. henry90 henry90

So am I. . . I have a lot of guns. . .high powered, low powered. . . so what? I love target shooting. . . .yes! So what if Aquino is addicted to combat shooting. . They can call Aquino all sorts of name, ok lang. . par for the course. .

. .sigurado may tama yan. . . tawag diyan ay sexual addiction which is a psycholigical affliction. Remember Tiger Woods and Jesse James na asawa ni Sandra Bullock? Maraming kabit. . .walang pagkabusog sa tawag ng laman. . . just like Erap. . . .tsk. .tsk. . .lol

  146. luzviminda luzviminda

“tingnan mo tuloy maglakad ..parang penguin”

    Si Nyoynyoy gumegewang din…younger penguin!Hehehe!

  147. henry90 henry90

Don’t just take my word for it. . . read this:http://www.medicinenet.com/sexual_addiction/article.htm

O di ba ang napakaraming extra-marital affairs e one of the identified behaviors ng sexual addiction? I wonder if Erap will ever admit if he has ever been subjected to psychological counseling or therapy? . . After he TIRAs the starlets, he pays the FEE. . . . lol

  148. henry90 henry90

    Mam Ellen:

I am wondering why nobody in the media has given this serious thought? I don’t know if Sexual Addiction as a psychological affliction is newly discovered or what. In fairness to Erap, he is not the only politico who is guilty of this. Having etra marital affairs is often thought of as a macho thing, not only in Philippine culture, but everywhere else. But since this deviant behavior has been brought out in the open and I remembered you wrote about Tiger Woods’ case in your blog, it might as well be made into an election issue. I’m pretty sure bloggers in Ellenville will have a field day discussing this in the light of recent calls for presidential bets to submit themselves to psychiatric tests. Maybe lawyers here can shed light whether this is a ground for disqualification or not.Erap’s admirers here will hate me for this, pero ok lang. Let’s see if they can dispute what medicine says about sexual addiction. And in his case, hindi fake ang ebidensiya. Everybody knows his mistresses.Erap said in a recent interview that he had no problems undergoing psychological consultations or therapy knowing that he hasn’t any. I am not so sure about that now. There is credence to what Jug said above that his excessive womanizing is not normal. You can read about sexual addiction, its manifest behaviors and cure here: http://www.medicinenet.com/sexual_addiction/article.htm

Sagot niya: “Hindi Sir. TIRAFEE talaga. After he TIRA the starlet, he pays the FEE.” 🙂

  149. henry90 henry90

    test

  150. saxnviolins saxnviolins

People have their preferences on what to discount, when it comes to their candidates. The masa discounted Erap’s womanizing in 1998. The Noynoyistas seem to have decided to discount his long legislative silence, in the same way that many discounted the late FPJ’s lack of experience. We cannot convince each other what to discount and what not to. Magkakapikunan lang.

About the penguin walk, yung bang nakabukaka kapag maglakad, sabi ni Rico J, that came about because Erap’s doctor said Erap has high cholesterol.

The doctor’s orders, iwasan daw ang itlog; kaya ganyan maglakad si Erap.

  151. henry90 henry90

    Mam Ellen:

I’m wondering why nobody in the media wrote about this before. I don’t think Sexual Addiction, as a psychological sickness, is an entirely new finding in the field of Psychology. I even remember you writing about Tiger Woods’ case just recently. It crossed my mind that this deviant behavior, if not treated, can certainly wreak havoc on the lives of members of families as what the Tiger Woods’ case truly exemplified.

In fairness to Erap, he is not the only politico that is afflicted by this psychologically errant behavior. It may be even true in the case of countless other Pinoys who consider their philandering ways as a badge of honor. This erroneous notion of machismo in Erap’s case is, sad to say, misplaced. What if he wins? Remember that in the past, this was one of the causes of his downfall. Instead of focusing on his job as the Chief Executive, Erap’s lavish gifts to his mistresses which reportedly came from jueteng payola and other questionable financial transactions were the staple news. It can’t be said therefore that his Sexual Addiction is just a figment of our imagination. This is common knowledge. All his mistresses are well-known to everybody. Certainly, this has a correlation to how a President, afflicted with SA, will manage the affairs of the state.

I’m sure Erap’s supporters will hate me for this. It’s fine with me. I’m equally sure bloggers in Ellenville will have a field day discussing this. Lawyers here can shed light if this is a ground for disqualification in running for public office(baka walang matirang kandidato?) If this is a ground for annulment( psychological incapacity) in marriages, surely the requisites for running for the presidency should even be more stringent. Jug has a point. Maintaining mistresses left and right is not normal. Let me make this clear. I am no saint myself, but I’m not running for any public office. Erap is. Erap said he has no problems undergoing tests to prove his sound mental health. I am not so sure about that anymore. He and his supporters, try as they may, will find it very difficult to dispute medical science. Anybody who has internet access can easily verify what I’m talking about by Googling sexual addiction and its manifest behaviors, in Erap’s case it’s muliple affairs(extra-marital affairs) and its cure, counseling and therapy. I recommend medicine net.com/sexual_addiction/article.html.

Speaking of therapy, let me end my post with this anecdote about Erap’s therapy. My former men in PSG related to me his penchant in having starlets board the presidential yacht frequently for trysts with some of his cronies. One time that I dropped-by, one of them told me: “ Sir, si Code 1( Prexy call-sign) nagTIRAFEE na naman ng week-end. I asked him if he meant THERAPY(owing to the facty that he is Visayan), knowing that Erap has arthritic knees. He said: “ Hindi Sir. TIRAFEE talaga. After he TIRA the starlet, he paid the FEE”. . . . .

  152. Mike Mike

    Henry, buti hindi TIRAFREE. 😛

  153. I’d like to think that all men have this love affair with guns…I saw that video and honestly I was the first one to make fun of him.
Yes, and earlier I was not a big Noynoy fan, I was rooting first for Gordon, then after listening and watching him talk (mostly about himself and how stupid we are) I got turned off, then Gibo, but the Ampatuan incident did him in for me (he was aware what would happen but didn’t do anything about it), then Villar (I’m a sucker for rags to riches stories) but he turned out to be bogus…
I’m still not a big fan of Noynoy…to me he is like a bitter pill to swallow, but like all medicines, we have to take it…
Noynoy for me is a decent man, so much so that anyone who belittles him, makes fun of him, or might have any hostile plans for him will have a change of heart once he gets to know him…

  154. xman xman

Honestly, I’ve never heard of Sex Addiction Rehab in my life
since after the TW debacle. Would this mean he will NEVER sleep with another woman after such therapy? Most men in this blog will laugh out loud who are at Tiger’s age of 35 and he slept with only 20 women? Noypis at that age would exceed that figure, it’s almost a given; yet I’ve never of any noypi gone to sex rehab; really curious what goes on with this sex rehab?

  161. Lurker Lurker

Tru blu, I just searched in the dictionary and it makes no distinction between the 2 terms, i. e., sharpshooter and marksman. And besides, since my niece is female (obviously), I hesitate to call her a marksman. Markswoman, perhaps?

And it’s the Oxford English Dictionary I consulted, not wikipedia. Cheers!

  162. norpil norpil

is it really true that pinoys after 35 have had more than 20 women? anyway i donot think the need for variation is a sickness.

    Norpil:

We can deny all we want, but we can’t dispute medical science findings. It’s all there for us to see. If they are trying to quantify in terms of peso value the damage that is being wrought by maintaining mistresses left and right instead of defending the moral fiber of the basic unit of societym the family, ay talagang tigmaok na nga tayo. Mangabit na lang tayo lahat at magpakaligaya. . .:-)

  164. henry90 henry90

    Lurker:

If I may butt in. In a sense, you’re right. In layman’s terms, there is no distinction between a marksman and a sharpshooter. This however, is not true in the military because it has a hierarchy of markmanship badges that members are authorized to wear on their uniforms. Tatlo yan. These are applied to both pistol and rifle proficiencies. 165. Henry,

The female version of the this addiction to sex is nymphomania, which is medically recognised as an illness or if you want, a disease, and apparently, if it becomes destructive, it is categorised as a form of medical-behavioural disorder.

  166. I say the following description could easily refer to men too:

hMedical News Today: What Is Sexual Addiction (Nymphomania)? What Causes Sexual Addiction?

[…] Sexual addiction, also called sexual dependency, hypersexuality, nymphomania, compulsive sexual behavior and sexual compulsivity, refers to the phenomenon in which individuals report being unable to manage their sexual behavior. People who are obsessed with sexual thoughts, feelings or behaviors that affect their health, job, relationships or other parts of their life, may have compulsive sexual behavior. Some experts believe that sexual addiction is actually a form of obsessive compulsive disorder.

Sexual addiction may involve a normally enjoyable sexual experience that becomes an obsession. Or compulsive sexual behavior may involve fantasies or activities outside the limits of culturally, legally or morally accepted sexual behavior.

According to Medilexicon’s medical dictionary Nymphomania is “An insatiable impulse to engage in sexual behavior in a female; the counterpart of satyriasis in a male”.

If untreated compulsive sexual behavior can damage self-esteem, relationships, career and other people. But with treatment and self-help, compulsive sexual behavior can be managed. The World Health Organization in the International Classification of Diseases (ICD) includes “excessive sexual drive” as a diagnosis of sexual addiction. […]

  167. Could Erap then be suffering from satyriasis/b>? The male version of nymphomania?

  168. satyriasis [sat′irī′əsis] Etymology: Gk, satyros, lecherous, osis, condition excessive, pathologic, or uncontrollable sexual desire in the male. The cause may be psychologic or organic. Also called satyromania.

    Anna:

    There you go. . . 🙂

  170. Re Erap v Noynoy scenario

To my mind, if there ever was a run-off, I’d like to see an Erap V Noynoy election run off.

An opportunity for those voters who feel they’ve been cheated out of their right when Erap was unconstitutionally deposed to do something to correct that undue Constitutional violation of their right and an opportunity for those pro-Aquino who contributed to Gloria’s illegal installation in Malacanang in 2001 via “Edsa 2” but who I’d like to think had only good governance in mind to finally push for change (if this is at all possible inasmuch as we all know the same people who propped up Gloria righty or wrongly will be with Aquino)…

This election should be between these two men. And may the country win!

  171. norpil norpil

henry90: i may agree with you when it comes to human miseries on families specially children caused by meandering husbands but still women has a choice between yes or no.on the other hand pinas system seems to condone/accept this behaviour.our women seems to like macho types which erap typifies in his films..in the case of the american tiger, it was his wife that chose not to accept his behaviour. i hope more women can be as brave as her. i am not sure if the story about a swedish princess bethrothed to an ordinary citizen reached pinas.the guy met a norwegian girl in a skiing resort and one thing led to another.the girl did not know he is to be married to the princess until she saw his picture in the newspapers.she went to a tabloid and sold her story.the princess cancelled their bethrothal.

  172. i hope more women can be as brave as her. i am not sure if the story about a swedish princess bethrothed to an ordinary citizen reached pinas

    Norpil,

I believe it has “reached” Pinas women. More and more women in Pinas I know, young and old alike are not taking this sort of Swedish princess’ fiancé male crap anymore.

My niece kicked out her husband and took him and the other woman to court when she learned of his fling. Trouble is, as you say, is that the warped sense of value that a lot of women now possess; they go for married men because of the “financial largesse” that goes with such relationship, they also seem comfortable with the idea of being the “other” woman because our society condones it.

The other reason for the prevalence of this is the absence of a sensible divorce law.

  173. chi chi

I read the story, norpil, and I admire the swedish princess.

  174. My niece is a young woman of 31, intelligent, a masters’ degree holder with a good job, a beautiful girl who was a Miss something or other, a nice home maker too and a faithful wife. Her former father in law had several kept women with whom he had kids and I warned her that her future husband’s family education which to me was severely dysfunctional could catch up with him in the end, and it did.

  175. Lurker Lurker

Many women kasi think that they need men to”complete” them…so no matter how badly they’re treated (physically or emotionally), they stick to their men. Of course if the man is powerful and rich, the more reason for women to stick around. Hillary Clinton is a prime example. Of course she wouldn’t leave Bill; he was the president then!

I personally don’t believe in this “sex addiction” thing. Men who prowl are just medicalizing their penchant for many women so as to evade responsibility and saying it’s a medical condition. David Duchovny (star of Californication and X Files) also suffers from such “affliction” and even sought treatment for it.

Here in the Philippines, the staunchest opposition against divorce come from men. Oo nga naman. with divorce, they’d be forced to have only one woman at a time and pay alimony. Hahaha!

  176. Lurker, what you say, Many women kasi think that they need men to”complete” them is only good for the Philippines as a generic rule, and even there [in Pinas] I’m not so sure.

I don’t believe it is the “need to complete” that’s prevalent when a woman falls in love, with the exception of course, of those women who do this for a living by becoming the “other woman”.

When men and women essentially hit it off, I don’t think they do it because of a pre-existing requirement “to comlete” but it’s more of an emotional bonding rather than the dry and sad notion of “completing.” In the first place, I don’t believe a woman seeks to “complete” herself with a man who is not worthy of the task. Ano siya, masochist?

Btw, the way you describe it is as if a woman is physically impaired kaya she needs a male transplant of sort… hahahahah! 🙂 OK, joke lang…

  177. I personally don’t believe in this “sex addiction” thing You should because it exists… I think it’s just like “advanced” paedophilia, another type of sexual addiction, or the obsession to have sex with children.

  178. chi chi

  179. However, I accept that in the Philippines having mistresses and showing them off publicly, especially if the mistress in tow is half the man’s age, is an accepted way of life (a dysfunctional behaviour of unspeakable nature) and these men may not necessarily be suffering from satyromania.

As I said, society condones it, men and women alike. When that happens, society as a whole only has itself to blame.

    Talaga? 🙂 🙂 🙂

  181. Of course, men are born “hunters”, millions of years of the hunting genes cannot erase that but there’s such a thing as evolution.

So, if despite this seeming urge to “hunt” outside of your domain grips you, i.e., have sex with the opposite sex left right center when the urge gets hold of you, this is where civilisation comes in and it’s the civilised man’s evolution from the cave man that separates him from the dog. In other words, restraint should be exercised!

Otherwise, man is no better than the gorilla or the other animal predators in the jungle.

  182. have sex with the opposite sex left right center when the urge gets hold of you, especially for a very much married man and father

  183. norpil norpil

i once had a doctor who advised me to smoke a hundred times more when i complained that i might be addictive to smoke.it cured me since i started vomitting when i reached my limit. i am not sure this can apply to sex.more sex the better, even my doctor tells me that.

  184. Norpil — translate doctor’s recommendation to 100 sex exercises non stop and see where it will get you, potentially a heart attack… “More sex” then will not be “better” for you 🙂

So doctor’s initial recommendation works even with sex…

    So what’s Erap’s category? 😛 😛 😛

I think the only effective cure for sex maniac/ addiction is castration. 😀

  186. norpil norpil

ok. but i cannot experiment with that since the mrs will not tolerate it and am not in the right age to hunt.

  187. Mike Mike

    Couldn’ agree more! 😛

    From Inquirer:

Political science professor Bobby Tuazon, policy director of the University of the Philippines-based Center for People Empowerment and Governance, offered an explanation for Estrada’s seemingly undiminished charisma despite his fall from power.

“Many of our countrymen still go for those who don’t seem intelligent. They want somebody they can identify with,” Tuazon told the Inquirer. “Many of them have been disappointed by brilliant leaders, like bar topnotchers.”

  188. 🙂 🙂 🙂 Sensible man you are Norpil… sensible and civilised. Anyway, your wife has every right not to tolerate “poaching”. 🙂

  189. Mike,

I think the only effective cure for sex maniac/ addiction is castration.

That’s extreme naman! See a shrink, a psychologist, a psychiatrist, get expert medical help… nothing wrong with seeing a shrink 🙂 🙂 🙂

  190. then Sharpshooter at ang pinakamagaling, Expert. — your former chief who bagged Lagman belongs to that category 🙂

  191. wait, wait, Henry, I meant, in the gun shooting category. hindi sa category ni Erap

  192. Mike Mike

Anna, I don’t see any cure for this kind of disease. Even extensive therapies couldn’t cure it. Ok, if you find castration extreme, vasectomy nalang, para huwag magkalat ng lahi. LOL 😀

  193. 🙂 🙂 you talaga, Mike!

“is it really true that pinoys after 35 have had more than 20 women? anyway i donot think the need for variation is a sickness.” – norpil

Normally, I don’t make statement like that, I never use the words ALL and EVERYBODY in all my comments.

But what I meant really is “most rich noypis or those “can afford” that by age 35, they could have at least slept with 20 women. I really believe in that, sa Pinas pa?

  196. Teka, teka, bakit napunta sa sex ang usapan about Noynoy and Erap…

“If I may butt in. In a sense, you’re right. In layman’s terms, there is no distinction between a marksman and a sharpshooter.” – henry90

That’s not a true statement. A marksman hit his target, be it a dog or a pig. A sharpshooter hits his target with a high degree of accuracy, the dog or the pig’s head for instance if that’s the aim.

While in motion however, NO ONE is a sharpshooter with the use of a handgun, a marksman maybe, or a markswoman to be precisely grammaticaly correct.

  199. henry90 henry90

    Tru Blue:

That’s what I’ve said. Sa CIVILIAN LINGO lang interchangeable yang dalawa. Sa military hindi. Kaya nga may expert pa. May scoring yan sa targets na na hit mo at a prescribed distance, both for pistol and rifle, to qualify a soldier to be a marksman, sharpshooter or expert. If A for example is equivalent to 15 points, B for 10 points and C is for 5 points, and a shooter consistently groups his shots in the A concentric circle(bullseye if you want to call it) from varying distances using only the allowable number of ammunition or bullets, then he would qualify as expert if his total points are within the range prescribed for expert. You derive the same results for sharpshooter and marksman respectively using the above as reference. . .

  200. tru blue tru blue

Let’s put to rest this good discussions about “marksman and sharpshooter” with this cowboy tale:

Inside a saloon, three cowboys bragged they’re highly professional with their pistols and they’ll prove it. The first volunteer was a Mexican who asked the bartender to release a fly; bang! it’s dead…applause!! The second was a American who requested the bartender to release TWO flies; bang! bang! both flies dead prior to hitting the floor; applause and cheers!!! The third cowboy was whoa! a Noypi! He only asked ONE fly to be released. Bang! the crowd started to booooo in unison as the fly started to tailspin like a helicopter crashing to the ground. Noypi calmed the crowd, picked up the nauseated fly and Noypi proclaimed the fly was already CIRCUMCISED. That’s a real sharpshooter…..

  201. No, True Blue, they knew the shooter was a real sharpshooter after he shot the fly because the fly went buzzing about after the shot from its usually bzzzzzzz baritone to bzzzzzz tenor, in fact it went so close to buzzing alto soprano (very very high pitched). 🙂

  202. tru blue tru blue

One analogy which could be true, hehe…

  203. Mike, re #208, Check that thread. I had an update. INC is going for Noynoy-Mar as my original article stated.

  204. I’m not exactly surprised by this. It’s disgusting. Show’s Estrada’s pervertion:

Estrada is Arroyo’s last card vs Aquino–Maceda

By Norman Bordadora, Leila B. Salaverria Philippine Daily Inquirer First Posted 03:38:00 05/05/2010
Supporting former President Joseph “Erap” Estrada may be the only remaining option for the Arroyo administration if it wants to prevent Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III from winning next week’s presidential elections, according to Estrada’s campaign manager.

The camp of former President Joseph Estrada on Sunday opened the door to a possible alliance with administration standard-bearer Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro Jr. with just a week before the elections.

Ellen: You’re a journalist. You know how headlines can be slanted. Fox news does that all the time, to put a conservative spin to its reporting. How do you square the title:

Estrada is Arroyo’s last card vs Aquino–Maceda

    with what Maceda actually said?

“If they don’t like Noynoy to win, whether they talk to us or not, it’s normal or it’s not surprising if they swing their support to us to try to block the victory of Noynoy,” former Sen. Ernesto Maceda told reporters on Monday.

“That’s how we will overtake (Noynoy) if and when all of these people who don’t like Noynoy and who feel that (administration bet Gilbert) Teodoro or (Nacionalista Party candidate Sen. Manuel) Villar or (Sen. Richard) Gordon have no chance of winning,” Maceda added.

Does it look like an anti-Erap spin to you? Where was Arroyo mentioned? Last card of Arroyo daw?

  207. luzviminda luzviminda

    Sax,
Eto pa yung last part nung article:

    “Last person
But Estrada answered no when asked if there had been feelers from the Arroyo administration for a possible alliance in the run-up to the May 10 elections.

“I believe that I’d be the last person they’d talk to. Because, you know, they grabbed power from me and then they put me behind bars,” Estrada said.

The former leader said he didn’t have any debt of gratitude to the administration even with the pardon granted by Ms Arroyo.

“She’s the one who has a debt of gratitude. She was the one who sat (as President). She even did so for (almost) 10 years,” Estrada said.

Estrada had spent the most part of his campaign projecting himself as the only true opposition candidate.”
