No DILG for Binay

Vice-president elect-Jejomar Binay has set aside subtlety and made known his desire to be appointed secretary of the Department of Interior and Local Government.

“If you go by my experience and expertise, if the incoming President would allow, I would like to be appointed secretary of the DILG, “Binay said yesterday after their proclamation as winners of the May 10 elections.

I seriously doubt Binay will get his wish, even if many in Aquino’s inner circle were his supporters . I understand it’s Naga City Mayor Jesse Robredo who will be given this politically strategic position.

Robredo fills up the criteria of the Aquino administration of presenting a fresh and dynamic face. Robredo was the 2000 Ramon Magsaysay awardee for government service. Although, there are those who are also pushing for Jun Simon. What was he before, Quezon City vice mayor?

Although the DILG position was offered to Binay before the start of the election campaign to entice him join the Aquino camp, Aquino had said a week before election that the offer no longer stands. “I am no
longer confident that the good mayor and I share a common vision and
therefore the past offer then is no longer valid.”
Binay has pledged cooperation to Aquino and it is expected that the former would be given an important role but not DILG or any position that he could use as a launching pad for his 2016 presidential bid.
That’s rubbing salt to Mar Roxas’ wound.

    Ms. Ellen, I will reiterate that I agree with your points and I also believe that Mayor Robredo is the better choice to head DILG.

    I watched Bandila tonight and according to Binay, he was offered the DOTC post and he is still thinking about it.

    Well, dito natin mapapatunayan who’s Noy2 about his decision-making…let see and wait, mahirap magspeculate kasi nga sa June 30 pa siya magsisimula at bibigyan natin siya ng 100days.

    Ngayon, saka tayo magsisimulang magkumento after 100 days sa kanyang panunungkulan.

    I’m NOT expecting too much sa Yellow regime…remnant din sila ng EDSA DOS at karamihan sa mga handlers nito e part ng civil socialites na kicked out from Gloria’s regime.

    My only wish e magpakatotoo sila sa kanilang sarili at enough na yong ginawa nila from the past.

    About Mayor now VP-elect Binay…CONGRATS! Malaki ang expectation ng Noypi sa iyong kakayahayang mamuno at NAWA e magkaroon ka ng tamang posisyon sa gobyernong Noy2.

    Tama ang DILG posisyon, but ang problema e yaong YB2 (Yellow Bulong Brigade)…kaya hope na si Noy2 e magpakatotoo sa kanyang mga pangako na dapat ang maipwesto sa poder ng paglilingkod-bayan e mga qualified Noypi.

    Para nman umunlad ang Pinas…

    Natural lang yon na hindi ibigay ni Noynoy kasi lalong lalakas si VP Binay pag nahawakan niya ang local government at Police. Besides hindi sila magkapartido, syempre politics yan… hindi basta basta papayag ang “Bulong Brigade”. Pero sayang… malaking tulong sana yan si Binay sa Aquino Admin. Expected na yan…

    Pero kahit hindi yan Bigyan ni Pres. Noynoy ng posisyon si Binay… hahanap yan ng paraan na makapag serbisyo. Nakapag share pa nga sya sa City namin na Mayor pa sya at ang layo ng Mindanao… ngayon pa na Vice na sya… ok lang yan kay Binay kung walang tiwala si Noynoy sa kanya.

    Jun Simon was QC Mayor from 1986 to 1992.

    He was first appointed as OIC by Pres. Cory after EDSA 1 in 1986. In the 1988 elections, he was relegated as vice mayoralty candidate in tandem with Mila Aquino Albert for Mayor which in defiance to Cory, he opted to run for Mayor. He plucked Tito Sotto from Eat Bulaga to be his vice mayor. The duo capitalized on the popularity of Eat Bulaga TV program with the then 5-year old Aiza Seguerra as their most effective celebrity endorser. Both won handily.

    Mas gusto ko si Mayor Robredo sa DILG, he’s not aiming for the presidency in 2016 unlike Binay. Siempre, kung sino ang may hawak na DILG ay meron malaking advantage over his would- be-rivals. Kailangan ay patas ang laban ng kung sinumang gustong kumandidato sa taon na yun. Besides, mas meron touch si Mayor Robredo sa mga kanayunan unlike Binay na sa progresibong Makati nakatuon ang leadership.

    Of course, meron advantage ang experience ni Binay sa Makati pero ayaw ko ng may ambisyon kaagad kaya gusto niya ang pwesto.

    I think Mayor Jesse Robredo is a better choice, his experienced in Local Government is applicable in all areas of the country. To replicate Makati’s nationwide is not suit enough to our environmental capacity because we are powerful nation if we focus on agriculture.

    Nathan, tingin ko ay may tiwala si Noynoy kay Binay na die hard follower ng nanay nya, pero siempre ay tumitimbang din sya sa kanyang mga kapartido lalo na kay Mar na nagsakripisyo ng ambisyong mag-pangulo para magbigay-daan sa kanya. Dapat lang na respeto ni Noynoy ang damdamin ni Mar.

    Resourceful si Binay, makakapagserbisyo sya ng husto sa kapinuyan kung gusto, sabi mo nga. Pero bilang VP ay dapat tanggapin nya ang iaalok ng presidente at pagbutihin ang serbisyo sa sektor na pinagtapunan sa kanya. 🙂

    Parang nag traydor si Binay kay Erap, kaya i feel that Noy should not trust him.

    Masakit din nangyari kay Erap, kaya nga siguro hindi siya bumoto ng VP, dahil siguro natunugan niya ang pagtraydor. Sa huli, natalo si Erap sa San Juan maybe because naging null votes ang mga walang VP votes na pihadong hindi lang si Erap ang gumawa kundi ang lahat niyang kaalyado duon.

    Jun Si? Corrupt yan. He was backing up some claimants to UP land employing some fabricated Spanish title. He was one of the “influential people” interested in litigation over UP land.

Imagine hawak nya PNP, LGU pati barangay level… para na din yang presidente… Naturallang na dapat ibigay ni PNoy ang DILG sec position sa kanyang lubos na pingkakatiwalaan. Si VPNay, nakita natin kung paano ilaglag si Erap… baka dumating ang panahon na magkagipitan… baka mag-ala Gloria yan si PNay… kung ang DSWD sec nga eh napatalsik ang presidente eh… DILG sec pa kaya…

    Hindi yan totoo na naka concentrate lang si Binay sa Makati… hindi nyo lang alam kasi hindi kayo taga Mindanao. Ako taga Mindano ako… may konti akong alam sa 130 Municipality and Cities sa buong kapuloan na tinulungan ng Makati sa under Binay admin.

    Hindi rin yan totoo na iniwan ni Binay si Erap…. kung yan ang intention ni Binay dapat noong Edsa 2 pa iniwan na niya si Erap… dapat noong nasa Jail pa si Erap dapat isang rason yon para iwanan niya pero naging tapat sya.

    Pero tama naman si Binay… kung walang tiwala si Pres. Noynoy sa kanya… hindi niya ipipilit ang sarili nya.

    At saka normal yan sa Politics… PALAGING MAINIT ANG LABANAN! Tingnan nyo katatapos palang ng election,,, nagpaplano na sila sa susunod na election. Kumbaga ang demokrasya sa ating bansa ay Premature ba talaga.

    Naga City Mayor Jesse Robredo is a cinch for the DILG portpolio if PNoy is really looking for the right man to start his presidency with a bang. I was batting earlier for VPNay but the entry of Robredo in the selection changed all that. While Makati is the financial center of the Philippines and already progressive when Binay took the helm, Naga City was a stark contrast and was just like an ordinary town compared to Iriga, Legaspi, Sorsogon and Virac in Bicolandia. Robredo transformed it to what it now and in the ensuing years, he reaped local and international recognition one after the other in the field of good governance. I’m not just relying on what I read or heard but I personally saw the transformation of Naga City and marveled how he did it. To the Bicolanos, he’s really ‘oragon’.

    The benefit to Aquino of doing a Garcia would be that he will have given a very strong signal to the Filipino people that he meant what he said about fighting corruption, and that he would not allow anyone tainted to work with him in the executive branch.

    Same battle cry every time there’s a new occupant — since Cory’s time — but it gets swept under the rug when euphoria dies down and same old habit comes creeping back

    Let’s hope the incoming admin will be more consistent

    One thing to be a mayor of a small town like Naga City and manage it successfully but another thing to manage a complex web of local governments — there will be politics involved, cultural differences to sort out, compromises to make, egos to massage

    The scale of expectations is high Can he deliver?

    On balance, I’d take a risk on the Naga mayor

    You have to understand where Monsod is coming from. She is part of the rabid Mar supporters of the elite class. Just like Mar, balimbing – from Arroyo yan. She did her part during the campaign for the LP and now she is doing her part to demolish the VP elect. I would not really put much weight on her opinion.

    Would you trust someone who was rabidly defending the Chiong sisters’ rapist killers?

    As for the DILG, I think Binay is qualified. Robredo is also qualified. It would be best to let Noynoy decide without all these hidden agenda demolition job (from those who do not like Binay).

    Obvious why they are fighting for the DILG position. It’s like campaigning for the next elections. But nuff of that. Bikolano ako. Familiar ako with Jess Robredo. I think we need to support and put him there. It’s worth the risk. The comparison that Naga City is small and the whole web of communities in the Philippines is diverse, the basics of local government management shown by Robredo is the same.

    People handling DILG knows the pulse of the people thru their municipal officers nationwide. But those who were its top honcho who eyed the presidency or vice presidency, did not do well. First was Ernie Maceda, followed by Nene Pimentel. Then there was Mayor Alfredo Lim and the latest is Ronnie Puno.

    As we recall, Ronnie Puno first announced that he will be running for vice president in tandem with Gibo. He asked his constituents to do the survey on how he will fare nationwide. After the survey was made, he was asked if he needs to be told of the truth or false report? He asked for the real score and he got it, butata. So, he dropped his bid and scouted for somebody and poor Edu Manzano, he took the bait hook and sinker. Edu was clobbered into pieces.

    are you saying here that solita monsod is on the camp of gloria arroyo? i don’t think so. monsod was the neda chief of cory aquino but never served under arroyo. she wrote articles that were very critical of manny villar that in my view, helped noynoy’s cause.

Gayahin na lang nya yung ibang naging vice president na tahimik muna then tanggapin kung ano ibibigay sa kanya. Hindi yung ibroadcast yung “hiling” sa Presidente.

    Finally, tinanggap na nang Ama ng Masang Noypi ang pagiging #2 sa nakaraang halalan at buong galang niyang tinatanggap ang mandato ng 15M+ na bontante.

    Kaya heto…buong puso ko ding tinatanggap ang mandato ng 15M+ na bontanteng Noypi at NAWA e magpakatotoo itong si Noy2 sa kanyang sarili at isipin ang kapakanan ng bansa.

    Ang talagang ilalaglag nila e si Mar kasi nga di namn yang original Yellow wannabees? Si citizen Erap at pamilya Santita Cory e nagkaroon ng ugnayang pagkakaibigan since na mag I am sorry ito after the darkest days ng EDSA DOS.

    As I said, bumalimbing na rin. Just like Mar and the other LP, they were supporters of glo even with Hello Garci, until di na ma-cover up. Kaya nga, inilaglag na nila.

    Yung Manny Villar articles were written circa 2008/9/10. They were written to help Mar when Mar was still vying for Prez with Villar as their main competitor. As I said, you have to know where she is coming from. She comes from the elite class. The elite class was supporting glo. Remember how they demolished, in the 2004 elections, all the opponents of glo. Some of their techniques were really underhanded at that time. Anyway, many (not all) of the elite class dropped glo when they could not do damage control when hello garci came out.

    The elite class was for Mar all along. Unfortunately, Mar never took off. So ginamit lang nila si Noy hoping to get Mar as vp. Now their plans failed, natalo si Mar. Kaya nga, time to destroy Bi this early so that Bi will not be influential to Noy because Bi may serve as a counterweight to the LP’s influence on Noy.

    The president should protect his presidency. Giving DILG Sec position to his VP is a big NO. Lalong-lalo na sa hindi kapartido.

    Malinaw na ang paggamit ng “NOYBI” ang nagpanalo kay VPNay. Nagamit ni VPNay si PNoy sa ganitong paraan pero nagpakita naman ito ng kataksilan kay Erap…

    Kaya nga’t hindi binoto ni Erap si Binay as VP, hindi ba?

    so pano mo pagkakatiwala ni PNoy ang DILG kay Binay?

    I personally met Binay in one of the airports a year or two ago. Maliit siya, just slightly taller than me. He was cordial. The fact that he gave time to talk to me when all the other people (maybe a dozen others)wehre all competing for his attention, gave me a lasting impression on the man. He listens and do not categorize. He obviosly has the quality of a good leader. But if indeed he is corrupt (as Monsod says so), Noy should put him on a leash. My greatest fear is, Binay may do a “Gloria” at some point. Alam naman ni Binay how Noy performed in the past so may plano na yan. Noy should be on the look out and learn from Erap’s experience. I am not saying that Binay is a scheming VP but who knows. Kaya tama lang siguro na bigyan si Binay ng pwesto na hindi makakapagbigay ng masyadong kapangyarihan sa kany to undermine Noy. Common sense lang siguro ito. I would like Binay to take charge of Education. Walang pera dyan but this is where the future of our country depends. If Binay can educate all our children, saludo ako! Napabayaan na ng husto ang mga kabataan. It is about time that we pay attention to our children!

    The truth is… its hurts for the LP party especially kay Noy at Mar kasi NANALO si Binay! Yan ang politics natin… politics muna bago ang bayan.

    But i’m sure Noynoy will give a certain position to Binay kahit ano lang (basta not DILG kasi magaling si Binay dyan yan ang field of expertise nya) nakakahiya naman sa administration niya kung ipapahalata nila ang galit nila kay Binay.

    Pero sinabi naman ni Binay na… kung walang TIWALA sa aking ang Presidente, hindi ko ipipilit ang sarili ko.

    Traditionally, the position of VP always belong to the opposite party of the pres. except during GMAs time but we all know why that happened. Thanks to the Partido ng MP, Binay won. He wouldnt have made if he was with another party. Can you think of any other besides Binay to be DILG sec. since Robredo declined? Lets hear names. Lacson, Duterte for peace and order?

    Interesting itong agawan ng lupa sa QC. May titulo ang mga Manotok dated May 1917 pero naglabas din yung Dimson ng titulo dated April 1917. Ang tanga naman ng LRA noong panahong iyon. Pagkalaki-laking lupa, tinitulohan nila ng isang buwan ang pagitan sa magkaibang partido. Peke sigurado ang isa dito.

    Sabi ng LRA peke daw yung kay Dimson.

    Ganyan din yung dinismiss ni Judge Magtolis. The grandson, of the original title holder (title under grandfather and father)who testified in court, turned out to be 14 years older than his father.

    In the other case, before Judge Peralejo, an OCT was allegedly issued by the Register of Deeds of Manila. Oops, noong prewar, lahat ng titulo to land in the QC area (wala pang QC, buhay pa si Quezon), ay hawak ng Register of Deeds of Pasig.

    I have a theory that all prewar OCTs may have copies in microfilm at the library of Congress (records of the colonial government). Kaya lang, the two times that I was in DC, were weekends, at sarado ang Library of Congress.

    I am really interested in the OCT of the descendants of Son Tua, dahil may nagsabing ganyan daw ang land-grabbing noon, iibahin ang technical description ng lupa, para lumawak.

    Nathan, I don’t think Noynoy is afraid of Binay, it’s the LP leadership that is. Binay has been part of Cory’s political and personal life and the children know it, they can’t just shrug that away. But because Noynoy is LP, he has to toe the line.

    Tingnan mo, bakit gusto nya na mag one-on-one si Chiz (ID with Binay) and Mar? Kasi, hindi nya maitatapon basta si Binay na aminin at hindi ng yellows ay malaking dagdag na boto sa pagkapanalo ng bet nila.

    Tatakbo uli si Mar sa 2016 and so is Binay, yan ang totoo. Kaya nasa pag-itan ng nag-uuntugang bato si Noynoy.

    It seems people are lining up either behind Binay or Robredo. Ito naman ang sa akin. Hindi ko sila kilala galing kay Malakas (I do not know them from Adam).

    Makati is resource-laden. Any problem it has can be bludgeoned with money and other resources. So it makes me wonder if improvements are the product of good management, or availability of resources.

    In the case of Naga City, it is poor. So any improvement can only be attributable to good management.

    Si Roxas kaya siya nalaglag kasi hindi sya yellow Fever,,, napansin nyo si Noynoy yellow… with ribbon kay Tita Cory… si Roxas kulay BLUE… kaya ayon nalaglag sya. Si Roxas din ang dapat sisihin kasi hindi sya sumabay sa YELLOW FEVER. Sobrang tiwala sa sarili niya ayon kay Prof. Benito Lim of Ateneo.

    Pero bottom line here is a Public Service… “Bayan muna bago Sarili” set aside politics. Hindi pa ba sapat na sa kanila na ang Malacanang, lahat ng government offices buong Pilipinas. Nag-iisa lang yan si Binay… for god sake. Bakit ang galit nila kay Binay ang paiiralin??? Kaming hindi taga Manila nangangarap na magkaroon ng isang fiscalizer na hahawak sa DILG para naman magkaroon ng Reform hindi Recycle. Reform… reform.. reform…. forget politics muna, forget partido muna.

    Sabihin nila baka gamitin ni Binay ang office para sa kanyang ambisyon…. lahat naman sila may ambisyon… the have the same GOAL ang maangkin ang Malacanang… mas lamang pa nga sila nagyon kaysa kay Binay.

    Bayan muna bago sarili!
