Foul, foul

These scoundrels really know timing.

They unloaded their dirty tricks at the time when when the public was busy with Christmas shopping and parties while coping with issue overload — Amnesty proclamation for military rebels, release of Morong 43, boycott of Nobel Peace Prize ceremonies in exchange for the life of Filipino drug traffickers, and acquittal of Hubert Webb and company in the Vizconde massacre case .

First was the decision of the Supreme Court allowing Mikey Arroyo to take his seat as sectoral representative of the security guards and tricyle drivers upholding the bastardization of the partylist system. The second was the deal struck by retired Maj. Gen. Carlos Garcia with the Sandiganbayan.

In remanding the petition filed by Akbayan questioning Mikey Arroyo’s representation of the security guards and tricyle drivers, the High Court said it has no longer jurisdiction because Gloria Arroyo’s eldest son is back as member of the House of Representatives .

Mikey Arroyo’s presence in Congress via the partylist, Ang Galing Pinoy, once again underscores his family’s perversion of the law to keep themselves in power.

The partylist system was introduced in the 1987 Constitution with the noble purpose of giving the marginalized groups a voice in Congress. It was giving substance to the philosophy articulated by the late President Ramon Magsaysay that “those who have less in life should have more in law.”

How in heaven’s name could the Supreme Court justices, just like the Comelec commissioners, could be so blind to the stark disconnect between Mikey Arroyo and the security guards and tricycle drivers.

If Mikey Arroyo is truly concerned with the plight of tricyle drivers, where was he when Manila policemen were battering the kuliglig drivers?

Garcia, the face of military corruption walked out of his detention cell in Cam Crame last Saturday after posting a P60,000 bail made possible by a deal he struck with Sandiganbayan where he would return only P130 million of the
P303.27 million he stole from the funds of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

Not only would Garcia keep the P173.27 million.Special Prosecutor Wendell Sulit, who negotiated the deal with Garcia, agreed that the charge of plunder which is non-bailable would be dropped after Garcia pleaded guilty to the bailable crimes of direct bribery and violation of the Anti-Money Laundering Law.

Punishment for direct bribery is about four years while violation of AMLA is punishable by 4-7 years in prison. With his money, and given the “kindness” of Sandiganbayan, it won’t be surprising if he would be declared not guilty.
Beats winning the lotto.

As an enraged TonGuE-tWisTeD said, “Magnakaw ka ng P300 Milyones ipapasoli lang sa yo P135M. Pakulong ka lang ng sampung taon.Aba anak ng p… ayos palang hanapbuhay yang pagnanakaw!”

It stinks. It’s foul.

I would say, it’s a plea bargain most foul in the history of corruption in regards to the amount involves…and it gives notice to all other would be plunderers to go Big Time if ever they have the opportunity and all is well if get caught. Well, it’s time of the year that we all can say, even to “them”, Merry Christmas and may the season will bring Goodwill to all..

Mayuga cleared the generals who were supposedly involved in the election cheating on a Holy Thursday when everyone was preparing for Easter.

Kaya nga sa tingin ko talaga Ellen, the evil bitch super corrupted all our branches of government and most of her appointees are very much in powerful position to continue withe her wicked ways. The evil bitch must be wearing that SMIRK on her face everyday as her “DOGS” continue to destroy our institutions.

  4. Tedanz Tedanz

I read that Pnoy is protesting the release of Garcia. Can he still do something to put this corrupt general back in prison? Sabi ng courts, Garcia will be used as a “star” witness daw to nail the other officers who were corrupt just like him. GOOD LUCK on this! Napakadaling hanapin ang mga officers who are corrupt. Just look at their mansion houses, ranch and other properties in other countries, fancy cars, paid all cash, lifestyle of their spouses and children. It is so easy to spot them.

Sounds like a compromise to me.

  8. Tedanz Tedanz

I wish for our country to have a great leader with a great vision for a better Philippines. We had a great leader once and yes it was the man from Ilocos, Ferdinand Marcos. You can say what you want about him, his family and his cronies but the fact that we were in much better position and as a country under his regime. Now our country’s political, judiciary, legislative and executive branch has been totally bastardized. Not to mention, Everything is for sale!….. we need to cleanse the country but for that to happen…… we need a great leader…and we need a Martial Law.

  10. Al Al

    Nampucha talaga.

Hi Ellen! Glad to formally join your critical and always thought-provoking posters. Have been an anonymous reader for some time. 🙂
What else needs to be said on these issues? I haven’t been able to find anyone who agrees with the recent decisions, except for the haughty Mikey Arroyo himself and Gen. Garcia’s lawyer. And the reason is, it’s a no-brainer! Mikey Arroyo representing security guards and Gen. Garcia walking away from a non-bailable offense are clear-as-day robbery and insult to all Filipinos. We have to really wonder what transpired behind the scenes resulting to such brazen, foul decisions. Shame!

For a diminutive gremlin like Gloria is, she sure cast a giant shadow. Like Sadam Hussein when he lost in Kuwait, Gloria has left but with a scorched-earth vengeance. Her termites are still on the warpath of destruction. Pnoy, for all his seeming misplaced priorities is so naive. His learning curve had gone much too long to bear any longer.

    300M-135M = 165M
    165M / 55 yrs = 3Million a year

If their action is illegal, bakit di sila nagsasalita?

What’s happening to our country? To the dogs, to the dogs our justice system is going. This time vulgarity and idiocy and impunity in the highest levels of the courts!

And the Executive and the Legislative can’t seem to do anything about it? My God, things are moving too slow in instituting reforms in that area.

  22. Mike Mike

Baka blessing in disguise itong illegal plea bargain deal at pagpalaya kay Garcia.
    Ground for impeachment na ‘to.

Ngunit, sabi nga, Love your Enemies, mahirap gawin yata ito. Dahil sa Pasko ngayon at mag-babagong Taon, for the benefit of doubt, pagbigyan natin, kahit iilang lingo lamang.

Either they are receiving “Revo Tax” para tumahimik or talagang naging irrelevant na sila sa ating socio-politico landscape!

@12 WELCOME lee!!!

    @15 Hahahahaha!!! Magkamukha ba pareng Cocoy? Sa aking cross-eyed view naman eh parang magkapanga, naalala ko tuloy yung panga ni Mussolini pag nagmamartsa na parang nutcracker! Parang yon ang minimimic nila kasi! ;

    8) Pare ko (if you don’t mind me calling you that, ano?) bakit parang absent yata si Mario/Marz? Nagtatanong lang naman.

  25. this is what happens when you have the “good guys” in the lead, they will always play by the rules…problem is, the “bad guys” have no respect for rules and have no qualms in bending, manipulating, take advantage of gray areas, etc…remember, they have the best lawyers money can buy and we are a government of laws – not of principles…

  28. saxnviolins saxnviolins

Si Wendell Sulit, kayang sibakin ni Noy. Anybody below the Ombudsman can be kicked out by the President. Ang Ombudsgirl lang ang kailangan ng impeachment.

Yung mga Sandiganbayad, simple lang. File a disbarment complaint. It will be referred to the Supreme Court, but the investigator will be the Solicitor General, or a lower court judge.

  29. saxnviolins saxnviolins

Gusto niyo ng nuclear solution? Abolish the Sandiganbayan.

That is not a Constitutional body, but a mere creation of statute. I was never in agreement with a special criminal court, that is half-assed appellate and half-trial court. With regard to lower officials, it is an appellate court. With respect to higher officials, it is a trial court. How stupid.

Then, the Sandiganbayad justices are directly appointed to the Supreme Court. Their expertise is limited to criminal law, and further limited to crimes committed by public officials.

Ibigay lahat sa RTC yan. I had one trial before, for government drivers in Mindanao, pumunta pa sa Manila, because their co-accused is a high ranking official. That is downright stupid.

If you distribute the cases to the RTCs in the country, the workload will be lighter. More RTCs can also be created, to beef up the administration of justice in the provinces.

@29 SNV – If the Prez can kick-out Sulit at any given time. In your opinion counselor, what is holding him from doing that? Sulit is a known pest and a bribe-driven piece of shitty-stinking-twat at Tamudbayan, that Simeon tolerated (and I wonder why) during his tenure who is now one of the pitbulls and “rainmakers” of Goatyerez, she should have been out there a loooong time ago!

So tell me, why can’t the Prez paralyze the Goat by firing the enablers and have them replaced by Wolves to scare the Goat? Would that be legally possible SNV? Just thinking out loud here.

We are all assuming that everything is normalized since GMA had already left Malacanang. When i saw PNoy ride with GMA during his inaugural in Luneta, i knew it would be business as usual for GMA and her band of thieves and thugs.

The letter of the wife of General Garcia is quoted in the article of Jarius Bondoc found below:

    http://www.philstar.com/Article.aspx?articleId=641599&publicationSubCategoryId=64

    The wife is a murderer

    of the English language.

In talking about contracts with the AFP, and its implementation, she talks about the before portion of the contract, the during portion of the contract, and the after portion of the contract.

Reminds me of the joke of Rex Navarrete. He has a female boss, in a company where there are two types of employees – those with the above jobs, and those with the below jobs.

He likes the female boss because she gives a lot of below jobs.

setting aside her bad grammar, what is more glaring was clarita garcia bragging how her husband accumulated their ill-gotten wealth in her written affidavit submitted to the U.S authorities. like a fish caught by its mouth, may she and her family be skewered and grilled for repeatedly abusing his husband’s privileged government position to amass money and assets. no to any plea bargaining or downgrading of the plunder charges against them!
