Robredo no longer ‘acting’ DILG secretary, gets regular appointment from Aquino

An asset to Aquino's administration
After almost a year, President Benigno Aquino III has decided that he can work with Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo, whom he is keeping in the Cabinet and to whom he is finally handing over supervision of the Philippine National Police.

Last June 13, Aquino issued Robredo, who assumed the post in an acting capacity, an “ad interim” appointment.
The appointment elevates Robredo to the status of full-fledged secretary, with Malacanang finally submitting his name to the Commission on Appointments for confirmation once Congress reopens in July.

“We confirm that last June 13, President Aquino issued an ad interim appointment to Mr. Jesse Robredo as secretary of Interior and Local Government,” Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said in a text message in answer to VERA Files’ query about Robredo’s change of official status.

Lacierda also confirmed that the PNP will now come under Robredo’s supervision.

What happened to Rico Puno? Balita ko he went to study in the U.S. Is this true?

  3. Phil Cruz Phil Cruz

It would be difficult to have Rico Puno back in harness after all that had happened during the jueteng controversy last year. He just was not telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

He couldn’t even remember the name of his relative who approached him with a bribe to allow jueteng in his area.

That is incredible. It boggles the mind. This is one issue where Noynoy has to be decisive about Puno’s fate.

This is one of those issues that hangs heavy in the air. And so does Noynoy’s image.

  4. It seems obvious that Rico Puno is out of the picture finally. Well, he can just resume supplying ammo for the PNP and AFP.

    How do “jejemons” spell “nepotism”???

Muck U. Farcos'(dedbol na hindi malibing libing sa libingan ng mga bayani, doon daw gusto, ni M’am) tutas (loyalistang balimbing)who are now matatandang asong ulol (i.e., those who are still alive, anyway) spelled it C-R-O-N-Y-I-S-M. (that’s for the “male gender”); for female …can you say…”blue laidies…”?

The former POP with the big “K” had it as
    “K-O-R-Y-N-I-S-M”…ni Mommy, Mader, Mother Dearest.

And now, we have… under PeeNgoyNgoy da POPelek what his critics call…:”Kapamilyanism” (or Peengoyngoyism). So I asked the “jejemons”…Just weytaminit der, bro…

Related ba si JR kay PeeNgoyNgoy? Sa totoo lang? Somebody told me… (tongue-ng-intsik) “Op curse, naman”. Ninuno nilang dalawa parehong “tsekin” di mo alam?

Soooo, anong image ni POPelek? (Teka nageesep-esep pa…bago ipalibing si Muck U. Farcos sa libingan ng mga bayani, he wanna find out, how the SUKA (suck up, kiss ass) media will handle his suggestion to exhume the remains of Jose Rizal and bury him also in the Libingan ng mga Bayani.

Galing talaga, ano? Dinedbol ang erpats niya. Ngayon pinagiisipan pa whether that was part of a heroic act that can justify his decision to let Muck U. Farcos be buried in the sacred burial grounds of people who risked and gave up their lives, so that Inang Bayan will remain free.

Tita Kory must be twisting in her grave.

  8. Ellen, sorry for interrupting the topic, what is this stunt De Lima and NBI is trying to pull re Webb, et al?

Eto ba ang TRUTH – Improved NBI Version Part 5?

  9. Tongue, I’m as confused as you are, Tongue.

Are they saying that Hubert and co. were imprisoned for 15 years because the NBI presented a fake witness? Am I missing something here?

What was de lima trying to achieve here? She called a televised presscon, accused people then admitted she couldn’t prove it.

  13. Phil Cruz Phil Cruz

Can Hubert and company sue the government for all those lost years of their lives in jail? If they can, they they should.

Unless it would only restart the digging up of new witnesses and new evidence which could possibly land them in jail again.

Hindi daw umalis si Hubert Webb, based on witnesses. But Hubert has a driver’s license from California, which he obtained two weeks before the murders. Hindi puwedeng kumaha ng lisensya sa Tate using a runner. I did that, in the Philippines, back in 91, for a renewal.

Hubert and Dad should file a FOIA (freedom of information act) request with the California DMV, for his driving records – all of it. Doon makikita kailan siya nag-exam, kailan humarap para mag-eye exam, by peering into some computer device, and naming the objects and their colors, etc.

Puwede ring makita lahat ng citations – kung nagka-ticket siya, may date and time yon, so that also helps establish his location for said date and time.

Tapos na ang kaso, so I don’t see the point of making these claims that De Lima does not intend to prove anyway. It is a disrespect of the Supreme Court, and frankly, a bit petulant on her part.

Dito, after the OJ Simpson case, maraming kontra sa acuittal, which was rendered by a heavily African-American jury. But the system had to be defended, so ni piyok wala kang narinig sa Attorney General ng California. There was a lot of talk show opinioneering, but not an official squeak from the AG.

Above all, the system must be defended, because it is from the system that all offices derive their authority – Constitutional powers (executive, legislative, etc.) and the election of officials who appoint other officials. There will be collateral damage, because the system is not perfect. But if the system itself loses its credibility, we will be left with anarchy.

Tama na ang dilemma Noy. Fire the grandstanding bi7ch.

And why would the “crazed labrador” bark….Dan Lungren was so ambitious at that time pretty much eyeing the California Governor Mansion and was careful not to ruffle bad vibes with the afro-american community. Still, he never got lots of votes from that group. At this point in time in the Golden Gate State, no rightwing extremist will take the governorship from the dems, moderate or centrist..maybe.

He is truly one of the ” sparkling stars ” from the Bicol region. “Kudos”, ki Sekretaryo Jess Robredo, sana makita ang katutuhanan na naka-tatak sa kanyang isipan, na tulungan niya at ” mag-in tune ” ki Pangulong Pinoy sa pag-tuwid ng landasin ng Pilipinas, alang-alang sa susunod na lahing Pilipino. God Bless the Philippines, ang the Pinoy admin, together with the DILG-staff-personnels. Sabi nga, kayang-kayang iyan ni Jess R.one of the founders ng “Kaya Natin Movement ” sa bansa with Atty Harvey K.
