At 9:37 p.m on August 28, Janet Napoles surrendered to President Aquino. Napoles is wanted on charges of serious illegal detention arising from the alleged kidnapping of Benhur Luy.

The President turned her over to the custody of the Secretary of Interior and Local Government and the Chief of the Philippine National Police for processing and booking.

  1. Sayang. Napre-empt na itong joke ko:

Breaking news: Nakita na si Napoles. Nasa North Pole.

  2. Snoop Snoop

Hanggang pagsurrender, pasosyal pa rin. I bet you maraming ibibisto si Napoles kay Pnoy.

  3. saxnviolins saxnviolins

She turned herself in to collect the 10 Million reward.

    Baka mapunta pa sa iba.

  4. bayong bayong

  5. chi chi

#3. Hahaha! Ayaw ihati ang bounty hunters sa P10M reward.

  6. vic vic

Now maybe it is time to arrange a Plea Bargain deal with Napoles for her to witness for the state in return for reduced charges and agreed punishment that will be acceptable to the Public. She will be a Treasure of evidence that could finally put an end to the impunity of the seemingly untouchable power behind these monsters of crimes…no other than your Honourable Lawmakers…

  7. Snoop Snoop

  8. Ay naku, Tongue, mukhang we are in the wrong business.

Kahit sa lotto hindi ako sinuswerte. Hanggang palit lang.

Three weeks ago, may raffle sa Fitness First Alabang (prize: towel). Nabunot pangalan ko. Wala naman ako sa studio. Forfeited.

  9. Naku Ellen, nandyan pa yan! Good vibes daw ng Feng Shui tumatagal yan ng isang buwan. Habol ka pa. Taya taya ng lotto pag may time! hahaha.

  10. Teka, may P5M pa pala, kasi di pa sumusuko yung kapatid!

Ano ba yung mga jour-na-least kanina, nagsipag-aral ba yung mga yun. Nakakahiya.

  11. saxnviolins saxnviolins

She will turn state witness. Kulong yung mga senator with millions or hundreds of millions. Ligtas yung may 10 billion.

Talk about the sweet life.

Kaya kinapkapan si Jaime Napoles, not for guns; baka may natira pang pera.

    NAPOLES APPEARS

It was 8:06 PM and the group waited for about an hour more before Janet Napoles finally appeared. She was accompanied by a lady who appeared to carrying her things.

Lacierda later understood why they had to meet Napoles in the cemetery.

“We had to go a dark place para nobody will be able to—kung may threats following si Ms. Napoles. She was in a… Yes, naka-hoodie siya. She was in a hoodie. I was not afraid because it was a… When I learned it was a cemetery, it was nothing to me,” he said.

    Napoles was not handcuffed……..”

    http://www.abs-cbnnews.com/focus/08/29/13/why-lacierda-met-napoles-cemetery-and-pnoy-had-go-crame

“Star” witness siguro, oo, pero state witness?

Other than that, mukhang malabo.

  20. chi chi

  21. saxnviolins saxnviolins

    # 22

Agree ako diyan, not the least guilty. But De Lima did not rule this out, when interviewed, before the arrest.

    http://manilastandardtoday.com/2013/08/28/napoles-may-yet-end-up-as-state-witness-doj/

Of course, puwedeng isoli ang token, just like General Garcia.

Weather-weather lang, ika nga ni Erap. And this Noy boy has this massive fixation about Goyang. So if some evidence is offered by Napoles, humindi man, pag-iisipan nang matagal.

The case, however, is serious illegal detention of Benhur Luy. Mukhang manipis, so they better come up with other cases pronto.

Of course, it is a breath of fresh air that the case is being handled by the Honorable Elmo Alameda – the same judge applauded by many for dismissing the rebellion charges against Trillanes, et al. But a good knife cuts both ways. Kung manipis ang serious illegal detention, then it may be dismissed, just like the rebellion charges against Trillanes.

I hope Leila Delay ma is on the ball this time. Baka naman magkaroon na naman ng sprint to the airport.

  22. saxnviolins saxnviolins

That solved the nagging question in my head.

Bantayan nga ang anumang magic kung ganyan.

  24. Ganun ba e di plunder din sila, chi. Of course the prosecution can always make it appear na there were no witnesses or insufficient evidence in the other cases hence, bailable dahil reduced na into one offense only (I’m maliciously imputing here that the admin will strike a deal with the offenders in exchange for whatever agenda) and that’s their worst case scenario.

  25. I don’t know kung paano palulusutin. But knowing De Lima, she will stretch, twist, and bend whatever rigid rules there are to achieve her means and hold it there until something more palatable comes up. Like they did in the Gloria case.

Sana, when she said, “She should surface first and surrender before we can go into that (State witness)…” it was just to bait her into surrendering. Or at least appear that Napoles has accepted her fate that her criminal days are over and done with (in case its a moro-moro). And in case it’s really a done deal, considering how long this issue has taken, siguro naman plantsado na ang script nila diyan at abang na lang tayo sa striptease.

  26. chi chi

Anyways, heto latest 2 more senators under Pnoy involved din sa scam in additon to previously named 7 senators Juan Ponce Enrile, Jinggoy Estrada, Ramon Revilla Jr., Gringo Honasan, Ralph Recto, Edgardo Angara, and Manuel ‘Lito’ Lapid.

Kahintay-hintay, sino kaya ang dalawa pang senador under Pnoy’s administration?

  28. saxnviolins saxnviolins

The meeting lasted for about 10 minutes, where Kapunan thanked Aquino for agreeing to the voluntary surrender of her client.

“The only thing that we started upon when we were discussing this whole thing was that Napoles would be provided ample protection from the threats on her life,” Lacierda said.

Lacierda said there was no discussion on the P10 billion pork barrel scam and the lawmakers involved, or where Napoles hid to evade arrest and who helped her along the way.

The genial treatment did not end there — Aquino decided to leave ahead for Camp Crame to ensure that her detention room was safe.

“The President wanted to make sure that the area was secure, so he went in and inspected the premises,” Lacierda said.

Wow naman. Ginawa mo pang bomb-sniffing dog yung pango. How did he go in? With Glock in hand, a la Law and Order’s Detective Meloni? That’s the guy who looks like James Taylor.

If you are too young to know, James Taylor is the guy who sang You’ve Got a Friend, and Sweet Baby James. If you still don’t know, just go to youtube and search for Sweet Baby James, and listen. And no, I did not intend that as a pun for the nintendo playing buddy of the pango.

Si Lacierda daw is from Roco Buñag and Kapunan. Back in the 90s we used to call that Robukap (apologies to movie director).

Considering the blunders of Lacierda, mas angkop yata yung Joey De Leon pun – bobocop.

    Not the least guilty ey?

It would be great if everyone involved in the scam were to land in jail, but what if you had to plea bargain with Napoles to get the senators and congressmen, would you? I would.

I would allow her to plea to a lesser sentence, even probation, if she can give testimony that will lead to a conviction for those senators and congressmen. Because that will have a more profound impact on the national psyche. In a few years, Napoles will just be another crook convicted of corruption but a bunch of senators and congressmen going to jail is for the history books.

    alpha.propinoy.net/2013/08/29/ladys-choice/

Now ain’t that telegraphin’ your punches? Or maybe a trial balloon testin’ the people’s response.

  32. chi chi

Agreed, atty Snv. Tip of the iceberg lang si Napoles na binigyan ng royal surender sa Palasyo, e di move on na sa iceberg mismo.

I would like those senators and congressmen involved in the scam convicted by a tight testimony and evidence, that would be my day.

  33. saxnviolins saxnviolins

Hindi ako ayon diyan. Probation lang daw si Napoles, just to get the congressmen and senators. And that is because mas may historical value daw ang magpakulong ng congressmen and senators kaysa kay Napoles.

I think the COA audits and paper trail will be enough evidence to convict all – Napoles and the lawmakers. They do not need to prove that she handed to the lawmakers their shares. The fact that the lawmakers made their PDAF available for bogus projects is already basis for graft.

I just mentioned the link, because I am betting on the administration moving in that direction.

If you will ask me, I have no idea kung anong swerte yun. But somebody up there alam niya kung ano yun.

  36. chi chi

I’d prefer to see corrupt senators and congressmen locked up in jail than the clever “porksmiths” of conversion whose services they knowingly engaged. If the latter offer to spill the beans on their principals, why shouldn’t we listen?

Some commentators think that the specter of the 2016 elections looms over this scandal. I sincerely hope it does. It is time our voters realized what kind of scoundrels they keep returning to public office. This is surely a turning point in our nation’s life, and a test of political will for P-Noy. So long as our citizens continue to be vigilant, there is every reason to hope that public governance will get better in the coming years.
