Vetting the Napoles list

Secretary de Lima. Still vetting the list.
Secretary de Lima. Still vetting the list.
Justice Secretary Leila de Lima said she is still “vetting” the names of people in the list given to her by pork barrel queen Janet Napoles.

“You just have to trust me that I’m not gonna do that na isa-sanitize ko yung list. Kaya kailangan munang magkaroon ng vetting,” De Lima was quoted to have said.

Malacañang supports De Lima’s non-disclosure of the Napoles list while she is still “vetting” the names in it.

Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr., head of the Presidential Communications Operations Office, said:”It will be irresponsible if the names are made public without being vetted. That is the essence of the appeal of Secretary de Lima, for her to be given time to vet the list.

Online Free Dictionary defines the verb “vet” as : “to investigate (someone) thoroughly to see if they should be approved or accepted for a job; to check (something) carefully to make sure it is acceptable.”

Okay. If her vetting revealed that some names in the list are not acceptable, what is she going to do? Will she remove the names from the list?

What’s her authority to tamper with Napoles’s list? If Napoles is lying with her list, expose her as a liar but De Lima should not tamper with it. Or else that list would no longer be that of the notorious pork barrel queen. It would then become a Napoles-De Lima list.

De Lima said the list containing the names of people who were beneficiaries of the Filipino people’s money Napoles stole by diverting some P10 billion for Priority Development Assistance Project to her and her cohorts’ pockets, was given to her personally by the pork barrel queen when she visited the latter at the Ospital ng Makati.

There’s another Napoles list and it’s with former senator now Rehabilitation Czar Panfilo “Ping” Lacson. Here:
Lacson's Napoles list
Lacson said his list came from someone close to Jaime Napoles, a former Marines and husband of Janet.

Since the two lists (De Lima’s and Lacson’s) supposedly were prepared by one person – Janet Napoles, they should be similar.

But they are not, according to no less than the President of the Philippines, Benigno Aquino III.

Speaking to media in Burma, where he was attending the 24th ASEAN summit, Aquino said, “I think I have seen, iyong physically seen, I have seen two and they don’t agree with each other exactly…They supposed to have come from Mrs. Napoles.”

Aquino revealed something new in that Burma interview: he got the Napoles list before Lacson and De Lima got theirs. This belies earlier stories that when De Lima gave Aquino the list after she got it from Napoles, the President was shocked and deeply bothered.

Aquino said in Burma: “Iyong first one, I think, was transmitted to me, which I in turn gave to Secretary de Lima. At that point in time, she didn’t want to talk to Secretary de Lima. The second list naman with Secretary de Lima was when she asked to meet with Secretary de Lima when she had a change of heart.”

“Now, iyong list with Secretary Lacson, noong we were discussing Yolanda, so that was just a passing topic. Just parang give me a little highlights; and the highlight itself was not consistent already with the other two.”

Aquino said he heard that there’s a third Napoles list. Sandra Cam, president of the Whistleblowers Association, also has a Napoles list. She said it was given to her by a reliable source.

The common names in the three lists are that of the three senators charged by the Ombudsman with plunder: Juan Ponce-Enrile, Jinggoy Estrada, Bong Revilla.

Aquino admitted some of his allies are in the list.

“Merong alleged, maraming hindi. Pero alam ninyo kasi parang kapag sinabi kong may discrepancy, iyong number nagfa-fluctuate e. Iyong next list na nakita ko, minus three. O di ba, parang, hindi merong ganun phrase: ‘Ano ba talaga ate?’ Hindi ba? Parang ganun,” the President said.

Ano nga ba talaga, Ate.

Ala e, naligaw sa script si Pnoy! 😀

Pnoy and Sandra Cam should submit their respective Napolist to the Senate also and compare the names with those of the list given to Lacson and de Lima.

And then, kaladkarin si Janet sa Senado kung ayaw umapir at ipa-confirm Who’s Who.

Sino ba sa kanila talaga, Ate?

spam, spam, spam. de lima ought not to dignify the list. it’s so disorganized like the chain letters that were circulating in the past decades. the names of people were not arranged in alphabetical order. names could have been arranged in order of the amounts received, say from the biggest to the lowest amount, but were not. de lima should not have been so eager and rushed rush to the hospital. the list would still be there and not self destruct after napoles’ operation. by then, de lima would have regained clarity of vision. and know a scam when she sees one.

  4. roc roc

have I been de lima, I would have put my foot down and said to napoles, I’ll give you 3 months. if you cannot come up with satisfactory evidence to back up your claim, I will basura your claim, get it? you can eat your list then.

if napoles is stressed, serves her right for creating one scam after another. her latest scam is proving to be all encompassing.

After he leaves his office baka lahat ng perang lumabas eh may bogus na pirma. Ang dami palang “ghost” senatongs and representa-thieves.

It does not shock me anymore that all of these elected officials have to steal money to run for an office. I saw this happening when I assisted in the May 2010 elections. They expect these candidates to pay first before the voters elect them. The people should no longer wonder why all these elected officials are THIEVES! Where else will a candidate get the money to pay the voters? Siempre may RETURN ON INVESTMENT yan! For as long as politics is SUPER CORRUPT, hindi titigil ang nakawan. Mapa-PCSO yan, PDAP,DAP, Malampaya at kung ano pa na pwedeng pagkukuhanan ng pera, the THIEVING candidates will always find a way to milk a CORRUPT system!!!

This is Napoleses( and those behind her) way of making another scam. Imagine if all those implicated will pay her ( and her handlers) money yet AGAIN to get their names off the list? She (and her partners in crime) will be rolling in DOUGH once this administration ends and BINAY becomes the president! Kaya si Enrile tatawa tawa lang coz all these thieves have to do would be to stall the proceedings. One strategy is to CONFUSE everyone with these conflicting lists. Napoles (and her partners in crime) will be laughing all the way to the bank!!!!

  8. snooper snooper

Napoleses’ credibility as far as I am concerned is ZERO! Why even talk to her? Why won’t the Ombudsman with the COA with the aid of the whistleblowers just run after these thieves! Napoles should rot in jail together with her handlers.

Delima fell into Napoles’ trap & gambit. Napoles’ allies are using Sun Tzu’s strategy in this pork scam issue by creating confusion in the enemy by a show of indifference to their position of strength.

“If Napoles is lying with her list, expose her as a liar but De Lima should not tamper with it. Or else that list would no longer be that of the notorious pork barrel queen. It would then become a Napoles-De Lima list.”

Tampering would mean taking out or adding some names not on Napoles’ list. We would only know if De Lima tampered with the list if Napoles shows a copy of her list that she gave to De Lima, right? So it seems Napoles now is manipulating the whole show, isn’t it?

I should say that De Lima is on the right track. Vet the list and reveal to the public the result of her investigation in due time.

    Iyon ‘yun, Ate.

(Sound of reminiscence playing in the background: music from the olden days…)

Even Marcos had his list. Thanks to Johnny…most likely.

“My barber, Conrad, tells me that the overwhelming opinion outside Malacañang is that it is about time I took sterner measures against the demonstrators that are violent.”

“The Armed Forces had a critique of the exercises for the Contingency Plan. Defects being ironed out.”

“We must finalize the list to be arrested if there is massive sabotage or assassination. I assess the plans of the communists to include these activities by the middle of March.”

“Johnny Ponce Enrile reports demoralization among the HMBs specially the Ma-Maos who are ready to surrender but would like to make it appear like a capture.”

    Ferdinand E. Marcos, 02.28.1970

    https://philippinediaryproject.wordpress.com/1970/02/

[Note: It is purely coincidental that, like baycas, Marcos had a penchant to listen to his erudite barber…not only great in hair cutting but likewise a politically astute citizen.]

Mang Gani, who is a colleague of Mang Bernie, my barber, surely wished that those listed in the NAPO-LUY List will have the same fate as those listed in the ENRIL-MACOY List!

  13. baycas2 baycas2

Meanwhile, Mang Tony, the third of the three ‘20/20‘ perceptive barbers, wondered out loud in the vernacular during another “kuwentong barbero” session, “Where’s Reynaldo*?” (A la “Where’s Waldo?” in his tone)

    Mang Bernie quickly added,

“Is he really in hiding…or is he actually being held captive by sinister people???”

The list and the Pre Trial buZz are just Scandal on top of a scandal. there should not be a senate inquiry since the criminal Probe is still Ongoing. Since evidence in Inquiry inAid of legislation Can not be used in any other Proceedings hence it just weakened the State’s Case against the defendants.. Never that a very very Serious Criminal probe is being conducted in the Media and in the Legislature…This is a Pathetic really pathetic state of judicial process.

    Delilah is still vetting.

A vet is an animal doctor. I hope she is not doctoring the list of pigs.

Too many Napoles list..it’s obvious that someone or some group is sabotaging the whole PDAF scam issue. Napoles has no other choice but to share what she knew. Now that she has done it it only show the truth that there are many members of congress are in for the take! Nakakalungkot after all these revelations nothing concrete is being done to address it. How long does it really take to prepare the case against this people years? decades? Gusto ninyo ba talaga? Napoles is just a means to steal use by many in congress. She’s in big trouble and a fall guy as well..Congress should be abolish! there nothing good there to save!

  20. olan olan

If the people let this issue to continue as the way its being handled now, don’t expect our lives to change for the better! Expect for the worst. Add the many future Yolanda, rebellion ng NPA, etc. etc., never ending rise in cost of living, and more PDAF in a different form! We work hard and pay our due in taxes and in everything our government collects…Damn this government… Kasumpa sumpa!

  21. jcj2013 jcj2013

The Napolist is just a list. It seems there are several such lists. Assuming all these lists emanated from Napoles, there is more reason for the public and the government to dismiss these lists as nothing but an elaborate attempt at muddling the still ongoing investigation of the Ombudsman. At halatang halata na nga natin ‘yan dahil nga sa napupunta na ang usapan at chismisan kung sino-sino ang nasa listahan imbes na kung kelan ba iaaakyat sa Sandiganbayan ang mga kaso laban sa first batch of accused led by Tanda, Sexy and Pogi. Why bother with these lists prepared by a kleptocratic pig?

De Lima given more time to submit Napoles affidavit

  27. saxnviolins saxnviolins

Goyang famously said “ang dagdag, ang dagdag”. Now Delilah says bawasan bawasan.

    My, my, my Delilah
    Why, why, why Delilah.

Bakit pinatagal?

Kung ilabas ni Guingona ang kanyang subpoenas, he can make Sandra Cam – come to the Senate.

Looking at the list, the ones heading the agencies got the biggest loot! Ang DAYA ni Andaya! Mas maraki papa any ninakaw niya mesa sa tatlong senatongs (Enrile, Revilla and Estrada). Grabe!!!!!
