Living up to his macho image of a crime buster that discriminates no one, in Tagalog, “walang sinasanto,” Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte took on the well-loved Pope Francis whose arrival in the Philippines last January caused him to be stuck in traffic he had to pee in his car.
Last Monday at his declaration as PDP-Laban presidential candidate in lieu of former barangay captain Martin Diño, who filed his certificate of candidacy for president last Oct. 16 but withdrew later as the the poll body included him in the list of nuisance candidates (the Comelec has yet to decide on Duterte’s substitution of Diño), Duterte was in his element spewing “P..I” in abandon, according to news reports.
He cursed traffic in Metro Manila. He related his ordeal last January: “From the hotel to the airport, alam mo inabot kami ng… limang oras. Sabi ko bakit? Sabi pinasarado daw.” A friend told him that the road closure and the traffic jams were due to the arrival of Pope Francis.
He told the adoring crowd: ” Gusto kong tawagan, ‘Pope, p.. I.. ka, umuwi ka na. ‘Wag ka nang bumisita dito.”
The video clip of the speech showed his supporters laughing enjoying the mayor’s story.
Not all cheered him. One of those who found his tirade against the Pope offensive was Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas, president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines.
Villegas said,” When a revered and loved and admired man like Pope Francis is cursed by a political candidate and the audience laugh, I can only bow my head and grieve in great shame. My countrymen has gone to the dregs.”
In a statement, Villegas warned against persons who kill people and indulges in adultery, which Duterte takes pride of having done and is still doing: “What the world desperately needs now is leadership by example. We have so many leaders in office and many more aspiring to sit in office but are they examples of good citizenship? If the leaders we choose are to be leaders for national progress they must be visionaries and exemplary.
“Corruption is indeed a great scourge of Philippine politics.
“The usual face of corruption that we recognize easily is stealing from public funds. Corruption, like a monster, is a devil with many faces. Killing people is corruption. Killing is a crime and a sin whether it is done by criminals or public officials no matter what the intention.
“Adultery is corruption. It makes married love cheap and uses people for pleasure. Adultery corrupts the family; it destroys children and victimizes the weak. Vulgarity is corruption. When we find vulgarity funny, we have really become beastly and barbaric as a people.”
“Is this the leadership by example that Mayor Duterte excites in us? Is this the leadership by example that makes a public official deserving of the title ‘Honorable’? I grieve for my country….!, “ Villegas lamented.
Former North Cotabato mayor Manny Piñol, a Duterte supporter tried to contain the damage, saying what the mayor said “ was merely an expression that comes almost naturally from Duterte’s mouth and peppers almost all of his public discourses.”
Yesterday, Duterte said he will contact Pope Francis. “I would address myself to the highest hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church. If you think I have offended — which, in the first place, I never really meant to do it — kung hindi ninyo ako mapatawad, the hierarchy o yung Vatican, sabihin ninyo: ‘We are offended and we demand that you withdraw from the presidential contest.’ And I will tomorrow withdraw. Walang problema ‘yan.”
Of course, the Pope would not tell him that. So mura pa more.
I don’t want a psycho and a maniac to be the president of Philippines. Not a good role model to the youth. Won’t vote for him.

Sen. Koko Pimentel and the PDP-Laban say they are working with their candidate. They’ve long been urging him to curb the cussing and tone down the nonchalance about extrajudicial murder. Sen. Koko talks about Duterte as if he were a hired dancer at a Liberal Party sortie in Laguna. In truth, it is Koko Pimentel and his old man who are tailoring their performance to Duterte’s spoiled bidding. The mayor has them by the instincts of the once-relevant and now anchorless PDP-Laban as just another political party desperate to be a player. At least Duterte is no hypocrite. The Pimentels – the elder a human rights victim, once a human rights champion – are not only hypocritic, they are deluded.
For the perplexing Pimentels, the only problem is packaging. They care not that ultimately they foist upon Filipinos a Faustian farce. Buy into, invest in, force and fear – for swift justice, quiet streets, and profit that cares not what we sold.

I like him but in the process that he told something stupid about our Pope, I now realized how dangerous this president might be.
Kung makapagsalita kayo akala niyo ang mga hinahangaan niyong politiko ay walang bahid ng kasamaan. Sa panahon ni dating pangulong Gloria Macapagal Arroyo nasaan ang simbahang katoliko sa mga anomalya na kinasangkutan ng kanyang administrasyon. Kahit binabatikos na masyado si GMA ng media o kontra partido niya dahil sa mga kinasangkutan na anomalya ay tikom ang bibig ng simbahang katoliko. Hindi nagsasalita ang simbahang katoliko ng kontra kay GMA. Sa panahon ni GMA ang simbahan katoliko wala akong nalaman na nagsalita laban sa anomalya ng kanyang administrasyon.
Sa panunungkulan ni GMA napakaraming kinasangkutan na anomalya pero hindi makapagsalita ang simbahang katoliko. Kapag puro banat kay GMA sa diaryo at tv ang ginagawa ay nagkakaroon ng paraan para mabaling ang usapan sa iba. Natatandaan niyo ba masyadong inuupukan si GMA sa anomaliya at nabaling ang usapan ng magsalita si Kris Aquino na nahawaan daw siya ni Joey Marquez yata iyon. Natatandaan niyo ba masyadong inuupakan sa mga balita si GMA at bigla nabaling ang atensyon sa bank account ni Erap. Natatandaan niyo ba masyadong laman ng pahayagan si GMA dahil din sa anomaliya at nabaling ang usapan tungkol sa bigas. Wala na raw bigas na stock. Dahil sa bigas na iyon natabunan ang isyu tungkol kay GMA. At ang naging epekto ay tumaas ang presyo ng bigas na hanggang ngayon hindi na bumababa dahil ang mga negosyante na pinoy kapag tumaas ang presyo ay ganun na lagi. Hindi pa nangyayari ang tungkol sa bigas dito sa probinsya ang bigas ay ang presyo 25 to 30 ay makakabili. Pero ng mangyari iyon lampas na 40 ang halaga hanggang ngayon hindi na bumababa. Nasaan ang simbahan katoliko ng mangyari ang isyu na ganun, wala akong nabalitaan na nagsalita sila kontra kay GMA. Palibhasa ang simbahang katoliko hindi yata bumibili ng bigas dahil mayroon mga binibigay na bigas sa kanila.
Kung si Duterte ay ordinaryo lang na tao ay hindi papansinin ang sinabi niya. Si Pope Francis ay lider siya ng simbahang katoliko. Siya rin ay head of State ng Vatican. Ang pagpunta niya ng Pilipinas ay bilang lider ng simbahan katoliko at bilang head of state ng vatican. Marami na ring head of state ang pumunta sa Pilipinas na pinagraralihan at pinagsasabihan ng hindi maganda. Pero ang mga iyon ang pagsabi ng hindi maganda o pag rally ng may pumunta sa Pilipinas na head of state ay naging malaking isyu ba, di ba hindi iyon ay dahil iba si Dutere. Kandidato siya pagka pangulo na malakas ang dating sa maraming tao. Kaya sinisiraan siya.
Pagkatapos ng bagyong yolanda wala ako masyadong nabalitaan na ang simbahang katoliko ay namigay para sa mga nabagyuhan. Mabuti pa ang ibang relihiyon namigay ng relief goods. Alam niyo may mga katoliko na nasiraan ng bahay dahil sa bagyong yolanda ang naging mormons na. Kasi ang bahay na nasira ay aayusin pero mag iba na ng relihiyon at mag mormons. Iyon nga lang bawal ang sugal, bawal ang pag inom ng alak. Iyon ang mormons.

And in this side, Our new PM been “called” Hypocrite for having his children Nannies paid for by the taxpayers..he is entitled to..but during the campaign, he is against the Universal Child Care allowances program by the Conservative and said that he will donate his back to the Govt..and instead tax the wealthy and extra 1% to increase the childcare allowances for the poor and low income..
Right now he has one extra Domestic helper than the last PM (7 instead of 6 ) he has to let go one of them
It’s about the rule of law. You simply cannot just kill a suspected criminal. What if it turns out that the person you killed is only being framed and is actually innocent? Who do you rely on to prove that a person is guilty of a crime? Your henchmen? What if your trusted men has a personal vendetta against a person and told you that that person is a drug pusher? How sure are you that your style of justice will not be taken advantage of? Many are clamoring for an iron fist rule against notorious criminals. Every day, many fell victims to criminals as we can read from the news and on social media. It’s a popular clamor. It might be a “good” precedent to a good and wise president but will definitely become a bad and dangerous one to a corrupt and evil president.

Yung homecoming ng College of Law Fraternity sa San Beda kung saan siya ay co-founder ay sinabi ng Inquirer na kinukumbinsi siya ng dalawang Supreme Court justice (Mendoza and Reyes), pati na si dating Comelec Chairman Sixto Brillantes, lawyer Vitallano Aguirre na mag-withdraw para maka-substitute si Duterte sa kanya. Si Duterte nagtayo ng chapter nila sa Ateneo de Davao. Sagot ni Señeres di daw pwede kasi pro-life siya at pro-death daw si Duterte. Kinukulit daw siya until Tuesday para mag-withdraw dahill deadline nga sa Huwebes para sa substitution.
Ayun, nag-file kahapon si Duterte na substitute ni Diño. Problema, sa blank kung saan ilalagay yung posisyon na tatakbuhan niya, nilagay ni Diño – Mayor ng Pasay. Tagilid ang kandidatura ni Duterte. Hindi siya puwedeng mag-mayor sa Pasay dahil wala sing residency. LOL.
