Foreign poll observers: We felt safer in Afghanistan

by Cynthia Balana
Inquirer

Despite the “fiesta” atmosphere during the May 14 elections, foreign observers who monitored the voting in Mindanao said Wednesday they worried constantly about possible violence and felt safer in Afghanistan.

They also reported incidents of intimidation, blatant vote-buying, candidates’ poll watchers dictating names to voters as they filled out their ballots and lack of voter respect for election institutions in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM).

  1. Ellen:

A Japanese lawyer reported that there were just too many motorcyclist circling her hotel during her brief stint there, and she feared for her life because the extrajudicial killings were mostly perpetrated by those riding motorcycles!

  2. I told the military attache here that I would give him copies of the 40 video clips I have of the beheadings in Iraq. Ayaw niya. I thought he could pass them on to the Malacanang squatters and have her train her berdugos on those beheadings. Baka kaya desidido siyang ikulong ang mga ASG so they can be recruited for her own operation versus people critical of her administration.

At sana, magkaroon din ng opinyon ang mga Foreign Observers sa action ng COMELEC regarding the cases of Alan Cayetano and Jesse Robredo whose elections are imperiled with their questionable decisions.

  4. Sleepless,

OK lang kasi these foreign observers can have their reports in print overseas and have their governments stop helping the Pandak. Over in Japan for example, I was surprised to see in print the newspapers here saying now that she is the most hated president of the Philippines.

For international consumption, I think may epek ang presence ng foreign observers. Their reports will be gobbled up by the press. In this regard, we hope to see any foreign government calling Mrs. Arroyo’s attention.

But to the kapalmuks in Malacanang, I doubt it if they will be concerned. I could imagine that whatever adverse findings the observers may have, Bunye or Ermita will always say that those are isolated cases, its all wrong and the opposition may have instigated and influenced them, the usual. Narinig na natin ang kanilang drama. Dedma sila sa katotohanan.

That would be yet another deserved black-eye for Gloria ! Although Gloria told a foregin daily that elections here were peaceful. Gloria is a manic liar.

In a press conference, a foreign journalist said that the legitimate issue of Gloria continues to hound her.

  9. myrna myrna

move on, move on, letse niya (gma)!!!!

  10. The effect of the foreign observers is that there definitely were less cheating during their presence. And it definitely lifted up the spirit of those sacrificing for clean election. When they go home, they can tell their own governments about the dirty tricks of this criminal calling herself president. Look at the effect of the visits for example of the Japanese lawyers investigating the extrajudicial killings in the Philippines. There are now newspapers here writing about her as the “most hated president of the Philippines” even defeating Marcos as the most corrupt! Yehey! 😛

  11. Yup, Filipinos will move on but she will remain in jail.

Knowing the tiyanak so well by now, kapal muks na masyado iyan. No amount of press releases, local and international will affect her. The only time she will be affected is when the grant money and the loans from the foreign countries will stop coming in. Then and only then will she think twice. Wala na siyang maibubulsa. That is when it hurts. Hopefully, the foreign observers will do just that, to let the whole world know that this bogus president is the most corrupt and oppressive leader.

  14. PSB:

Ang kapal talaga ng mukha ni Pandak. Ngayon nagsimula na sila sa propaganda nila by giving media false statements about the CoCs from overseas. Hindi nila alam na handa rin kaming pabulaanan ang kasinungalingan nila, and I doubt if the embassy people will agree to be privy with their lies. Ang tindi. Malacanang claims Apoi got 500 votes in Japan. It did not. It got only 86 votes. Gabriela, the highest scorer, got only 127. The figures it is giving media now must be made in hell.

She should be kicked out.

“Foreign poll observers: We felt safer in Afghanistan”

why not tell that directly in face of gloria macagarapal arroyo and benjamin abalaos? and also to the AFP cheat-of-staff espurol and PNP cheat caldero?

  16. chi chi

“let’s move on”, iyan ang mantra ni Blinky Tianak. BITCH!

  17. Filipinos cannot move on because the Tiyanak is there. Dapat ang sabihin niya, “OK, I move out, you move on!”

  18. alitaptap alitaptap

    myrna Says:
move on, move on, letse niya (gma)!!!!

    ,,,,,,,,,,,
Kung walang resolution, the wound will fester. Ano… sinusuwerte?

  19. Sinabi mo pa, Manong Alitaptap! Move on daw? Manigas siya!

  20. Chi: “let’s move on”, iyan ang mantra ni Blinky Tianak. BITCH!
    *****
Mantira, Chi? Hindi mantira! Baka mintira! Ibig sabihin ay “sinungaling!”

  21. Mrivera Mrivera

    yuko,
