Kontra-daya will hold rally again next week

The anti-fraud group Kontra Daya today warned that the inclusion in the national canvassing of questionable votes from Maguindanao and other fraud tainted provinces will further incite protest actions against the Comelec.

Another protest action is set on Wednesday next week at the Philippine International Convention Center where the national canvassing is being held. Last week’s rally drew a mixed crowd of opposition figures, militant groups and concerned citizens. Organizers estimate the rally to have peaked at around 3,000.

“There is already clear evidence that the elections in Maguindanao were rigged. The uncounted election returns and the highly improbable zero turn out for the opposition are the surest signs of election irregularities in the area. In the face of this glaring proof, canvassing of these votes will only demolish the credibility of the elections,” said Kontra Daya convenor Fr. Joe Dizon.

Last week, progressive partlyist groups produced affidavits and evidence showing that election returns from Pagalungan town in Maguindanao were not canvassed thereby raising questions on the 12-0 administration sweep that was reported by the Comelec. Opposition lawyers also discovered the highly improbable zero votes for the opposition in some areas in Maguinandao.

“The Comelec must exclude Maguindanao and proclaim the first batch of winners to end suspicion that the poll body is trying to give fraud operators time to change the results of the elections,” Dizon said.

“We have to put pressure on the Comelec and protest the continued attempts to subvert the people’s vote. That is what the rally is about,” he added.

Not so peaceful in Lanao

Kontra Daya was also cautious in accepting the assessment of Comelec Commissioner Rene Sarmiento that the special elections in Lanao were generally peaceful.

“Commissioner Sarmiento’s assessment is too generous. Is he basing his report on what the military and police are saying or on what the Lanao people are experiencing?

Media reported several incidents of violence before and during the special polls in Lanao.

Kontra Daya sent a team to observe the Lanao special elections. The initial report of the team will be released next week.

Very sensible appeal! What’s wrong with Comelec? Did they really believe that their dilly dallying will convince peple to shut up?

  2. Ellen,

I think Carmen Pedrosa is close to becoming senile:

“If you are attentive enough you will find a recurring theme in pro-opposition articles: that the people have spoken and they are against President GMA. They ignore the hard facts about the results of the election, with the majority party winning congressional seats overwhelmingly.”

    Tanga!

Proclaim the winning candidates up to Trillanes!

Ulit: Proclaim the 12 winning candidates hanggang kay Koko Pimentel!

Money from Malacanang?

    Grrrrrr

  6. chi chi

Carmen Pedrosa has turned to become an illusionist!

“FINALLY, GLORIA MAKAPAL ARROVO Y PIDAL IS OUSTED.” Hope it comes out very soon.

    Anna,

KOMOLEK tser Abalos waits for the bags of money from Korecto, the husband of Ate Vi.

But people already knew his modus operandi so, nadun siya sa Lanao at nagbabantay ng mababayaran!

    Ellen,

My search for the full text of the HUMAN SECURITY ACT of 2007 has turned up nothing. The usually reliable Chan-Robles site doesn’t have it yet.

Is it possible for you to email me a copy?

    Many thanks.

  10. Skip, I don’t have but once I get a copy, I will.

  11. Talaga, Anna. Pedrosa has her own set of reality. Same with Gloria Arroyo and Belinda Cunanan.

Sabi ni Rene Sarmiento, so far daw no one talks to him kaya wala pang “hello Rene”!

Or matagal ka ng merong order from the kumander- in-cheat of your role in the cheating hierarchy?!

Putragis silang lahat. Mabilataukan sana sila ng malaking tinik ng isda! Mga alagad ng demonyo!

  16. Deliberately delaying the counting should be condemned. It exudes incompetence and inefficiency.

Filipinos should demand for the removal of Abaloslos now and abolition of the Comelec! Time for Filipinos to learn how to vote wisely sans the killings and these warlords controlling their right to vote especially in ghost towns in Mindanao.

Bantayan ang boto sa PICC. We know of the ballots being switched over there. Ingatan!

Ano ba talaga ang gusto ni Pandak? Guerra patani?

  17. Yuko,

Deliberately delaying the counting should be PUNISHED.

Hang Abalos and his crooked team from the highest lampposts or if not, pasagasaan sa bulldozers!

  18. Yuko,

  19. It’s an expression, Anna, when we had trouble at home with the siblings. I actually do not know what patani is.

Baka iyan ang gusto ni Pandak! Kating-kati na ang ungas for a military rule. Boba naman!

  20. Ellen,

They should do these rallies every week if not everyday until Abaloslos learns to respect the will of the majority—NO TO PANDAK!!!

  21. rose rose

June 3- Celebration of the Phil. Independence here in New York City. Will there be a rally? Saan magkikita? Pray tell.
Last Sunday of June- Phil.-American Friendship Day in Jersey City- Any plans for a rally?
The Sunday before that- Philippine Independence Day Celebration in Passaic, New Jersey- Any plans for a rally?

  22. chi chi

    Yuko,

Abalolos is already too old to relearn “respect the will of majority”. I bet, matatalo iyan ng pet doggie in Anna in terms of learning and relearning GMRC!

  23. The Wednesday demonstration is most important,
It has become obvious to me by bloggers comments and my own difficulty in entering EllensVille this past Saturday & Sunday is because every ‘concerned citizen’ visits this site regularly to keep up with the latest information and comments.

This Wednesday is the chance for everyone to show their disapproval of the corrupt Abalos elections and the continued reluctance to give proper investigations into the various irregulararities in the precincts. We need to let Abalos know, loud and clear that we will not accept his Tom Foolery in this election like in 2004.

This time the evidence of Abalos’ Tom Foolery is revealed at the count in some cases before the polling day!

Abalos you can be as brazen as you like, at your ****ing peril. Enough is Enough

  24. I suggest the demonstration should be aimed at Abalos only and loud and clear. Its time to concentrate on Abalos and his commissioners as they have the mandate to give and control CLEAN & PEACEFUL elections. Without the assistance of Abalos and his commissioners there cannot be any Tom Foolery, Period.

Hi guys, for your info…at katatawanan – kapalpakan ni blinky…

    Filipino president’s hongi just misses

    Photo / Mark Mitchell

    Updated 1:45PM Monday May 28, 2007
Philippines President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo was a little off target with her hongi during her welcome ceremony at Government House in Wellington today.

It was more forehead-to-forehead than nose-to-nose with with Warrant Officer Doug Wallace.

However, she faces more serious issues later with a Filipino trade unionist due to protest in a cage on the steps of Parliament this afternoon.

National Distribution Union Wellington Secretary Sheryl Cadman said the protest was to draw attention to an alleged 858 extra-judicial killings that have occurred since the President took power and to call for the release of Crispin “Ka Bel” Beltran.

Mrs Cadman said “Ka Bel” is an ailing 74 year-old opposition congressman and trade union leader who was jailed 16 months ago on “trumped up” charges of sedition.

She said: “President Arroyo and her public relations machine have arrived in New Zealand with a smile on her face and a wreath for our unknown soldier – but back home humanitarian groups, the media, independent watchdogs and international observers are slamming the recent Filipino election as being rife with fraud, intimidation, killing and coercion of voters.”

ay, sayang, hindi nakasali yung photo…. pero i emailed Ellen the photo, and i hope she can show it in this blog….palpak si gma sa hongi (maori traditional greeting)

  26. myrna myrna

bakit hindi pumasok yung latest entry ko??? 🙁

  27. myrna myrna

sabi ni pandak….”Let me assure you that all his civil rights and human rights are protected by our laws and the administration of those laws.”

  28. Myrna:

Good, good, good! I asked my NZ friend to tell her relatives in Auckland to join the rally against the Pandak. In fact, we should tell our governments that she has actually not been properly voted by Filipinos, and that she is trying to do the same tricks again in their election to legitimize her illegal reign.

Nakakakulo ng dugo! Ang kapal ng apog!

  29. BTW, Alston is an Australian. I hope he has informed a lot of Australians about the extrajudicial killings in the Philippines to arouse indignation among them against the Pandak.

Kung sabagay, kuwarta iyan para sa akin, but I’d rather not see them in court and in jail para naman maipagmalaki ko ang bayang sinilangan.

  30. mlm18_corpuz mlm18_corpuz

    myrna,

Sana ay merong magsabog ng kumukulong tubig sa mukha ni Blinkly Glue habang sinasabi niya ang ”Let me assure you that all his civil rights and human rights are protected by our laws and the administration of those laws.”

Myrna: Nakita ko yung photo of hongi greeting. Ang caption said- “nose to nose” greeting pero ang labas sa photo- “forehead to forehead”. Akala ko “sungay-an”. Kasi years back pag fiesta sa Sibalom, Antique pnasusungay ang dalawang carabao sa palaro.
