I think the Thai Middle class, just like the Philippine Middle Class, have too much faith in their own incorruptibility. They only have to look to what happened in the Philippines after EDSA Dos.

Boung pamilya niya andoon.

    On a different line;

Headline news by the daily Tribune:

MoA-AD to be used as main guide for new talks — Esperon

The MoA-AD was described by many legal experts as patently a violation of the Constitution because it sought to create a Muslim state through the Bangsamoro Juridical Entity (BJE).

General Aziz agreed that Bangsamoro aspirations can be accommodated within Philippine sovereignty and Constitution.
    ____________________________________________________________

How unfortunate. Esperon is still at it as chief negotiator of gloria. If the MOA-AD is patently unconstitutional, why use it as “a main guide for (peace) talks”? And why is it that this Gen. Aziz of Malaysia says that the Bangsamoro aspirations as said in the MOA-AD can be accomodated within Philippine sovereignty and constitution.

    Maybe this next statement by Kalumaran has some bearing to the insistence of using the MOA-AD still;

“It also affirms and acknowledges the Lumad’s Right to Self-Determination by recognizing Lumad territories under the Bangsamoro Juridical Entity (BJE). However, Mrs. Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, the big landlords, big businesses and imperialist powers, have used the MOA-AD to further their interests,” it furthered.

Kalumaran explained in the unity statement that President Arroyo and the big landlords have exploited the issues surrounding the MOA-AD to mislead and divide the Filipino people.
    ____________________________________________________________

So Kalumaran still sees it as an instrument for their exploitation. GMA and her self-interest group would not give up the riches they have acquired and want to acquire in Mindanao. They are now using a different tack. Maybe a Plan B-C-D.

Latest news is that Senate President Manny Villar was rushed to the hospital. Is he really sick or trying to avoid Lacson’s privilege speech on Monday? Last Wednesday, Villar also canceled the Senate session allegedly because of strong rain when Lacson was about to speak about the C-5 scandal involving Villar.

  10. bitchevil bitchevil

Who would buy this story? Villar got hurt after bumping into a person? Villar is not a small guy; and he’s surrounded by bodyguards. For the second time, he’s obviously trying to avoid Lacson’s speech on Monday:

“Senate President Manuel Villar Jr. was rushed on Sunday to a hospital in Manila after a freak accident during a speaking engagement.

Radio dzBB’s Nimfa Ravelo quoted Villar’s close-in photographer Cesar Tomambo as saying that the incident occurred at the Philippine International Convention Center along Roxas Boulevard in Manila.

The incident took place on the eve of a “showdown” with Sen. Panfilo Lacson, who was to deliver a privilege speech on the “road to nowhere” mess.

The report said Villar was at a speaking engagement when he bumped into a person. The report did not immediately name the person.

Villar was brought to the Manila Doctor’s Hospital, the report said.”

Bro. Mike Velarde of El Shaddai was implicated in the scam with his company receiving the biggest for the right of way payment. We don’t hear much from Velarde’s camp except saying it’s true but his company has not been paid yet. What about other politicians? Are they willing to investigate Velarde?

  13. bitchevil bitchevil

El Shaddai leader and businessman Mariano “Mike” Velarde is not off the hook in a P200-million “road to nowhere” mess that the Senate plans to investigate, opposition Senator Panfilo Lacson said Sunday.

Lacson noted Sen. Ana Consuelo Madrigal had sought to look into businesses that would benefit from the construction of a stretch of road between Sucat and South Luzon Expressway.

Senator Madrigal filed a resolution asking to look into who will benefit from that road project, including right-of-way payments. Her resolution wants to find out who aside from Velarde benefited from that project.

Velarde’s firm, Amvel Land Corp. reportedly obtained a windfall from selling the right-of-way over its Parañaque property for the road improvement project.

Madrigal’s resolution stemmed from Lacson’s expose regarding a P200-million double entry in the 2008 budget for the road between Sucat Road and South Luzon Expressway.

Lacson said it is possible that Madrigal’s resolution and the one he and seven other senators signed to investigate the double entry will be tackled jointly.

…..Aside from Lacson and Madrigal, who have the balls to question Mike Velarde?

  14. bitchevil bitchevil

What? There’s a report of plan by this government to enter into a Visiting Forces Agreement with Russia. If this is true, GMA might as well declare the Philippines as an open country.

  15. bitchevil bitchevil

This is what Ninez Olivarez wrote about the C-5 Road anomaly and Mike Velarde’s involvement:

“Want more proof that all this “outrage” being displayed by the minority senators over the so-called double insertions in the road to nowhere is nothing but demolition politics in aid of their presidential ambitions?

One of the beneficiaries of the right of way on the C-5 project, it has been discovered, is a property firm, Amvel Land Corp. of El Shaddai leader Bro. Mike Velarde, a televangelist whom too many politicians don’t dare cross, for fear of losing the El Shaddai vote, if there is such a command El Shaddai vote for this charismatic group. There isn’t, truth to tell, as it is not a bloc vote.

First of all, even as there has been discovered a “double entry” for the same road project worth P200 million, there was never any disclosure by the same minority senators of the Velarde firm as beneficiary. It was the media that brought it out in the open.

But once disclosed, there went the minority senators, quickly saying that Velarde was not at issue, and that Velarde won’t be probed. It will just be the senator who had allegedly inserted the double entry that would be probed.

So why should Velarde be spared, but not the senator, who may not even have inserted this road project in the budget? And why should there be anything by way of corruption if, as stated by the Budget chief himself, the funds were never released? So how could the individual have made money on this? Because his properties and businesses benefited from the new road? But so did all other businesses, as new opportunities have been opened with this new road constructed.”

  16. Mike Velarde is what he is, a false prophet. Filipinos should not be afraid of him. This man claims divine powers and acting like the Messiah himself. He should be banned.

Remember the passage in the Scriptures? “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” (Matt.7:15)

  17. Not banned but condemned. Masama ang ginagawa ng taong iyan even by the deception that he does in luring people to his organization which is nothing but a cult. Beat me how people can be deceived by this man.

  18. bitchevil bitchevil

I still remember when he was able to obtain huge housing loans from the government for his private housing projects. It was exposed, but nothing came out of it.

  19. bitchevil bitchevil

When Jesus Christ lived on the earth He organized His church and called apostles to lead and teach the people. Christ gave His apostles the authority to act in His name, to perform baptisms, to heal the sick, and to proclaim His gospel. After Christ’s death, resurrection, and ascension to heaven, His apostles continued to teach His doctrine and direct His Church by receiving revelation from Christ. After His apostles were killed, people began to change His teachings, and although some truth remained, there was a general falling away from the truth, called the apostasy, and Christ’s church was taken from the earth.

  20. Hehehe! Mr.Umbrella (Mike Villarde) is a professional con artist,a deceitful false prophet. He made millions when he started fooling low intelligence and mentally disable persons and the government could that even tax him and his accumulated properties through his twisting prophesies of the Holy Bible. He must be stoned to death.

  21. bitchevil bitchevil

Now I know why Villar and Velarde are involved. Their names start with letter “V”. Both are of course Catholics, Velarde leading El Shaddai and Villar an active member of Couple for Christ. Both are good talkers (liars?) being politician and preacher. I don’t see much difference between a politician and preacher. They’re like salesmen. They are good in selling (deceiving) their products to the people. The only difference I can see is while one is mestizo looking, the other is Obama-looking. Cocoy was good at coining their last names. Mike VILLARde. What does Mike Villarde have that make him so popular and rich? He has nothing except some knowledge of the Bible and ability to speak to the audience. If you have listened to a high powered sales speaker in a multi-level marketing seminar, you know what I mean.

Is there anything else we can do now but relax and enjoy the new extension road unless we insert another funding for another right of way for the extension without tresspassing properties of the mighties.

  27. bitchevil bitchevil

INC is to be feared more than El Shaddai. INC has been practicing block voting way back since the time of Quezon and Magsaysay. El Shaddai just tried to copy but is not successful.
