Vicious Erap rumor

There are vicious email and text messages being passed around about former President Joseph Estrada alleged sexual relationship with his spokesperson, Margaux Salcedo.

It’s not true.

The ugly message was sent to me by a certain “Natividad Balete”. The blog which was opened only less than two weeks ago is titled “Filipina ako so what.”

The writer says he was formerly an Erap fan but is disgusted by what the former president did to his wife, Dr. Loi Estrada. The story is that Loi caught Erap in a compromising situation with his young and pretty spokesperson. It even alleges that Margaux is pregnant and that, just like with other Erap mistresses, he is building her a house.

The writer says that according to the Estrada household help, Loi went to the United States in a huff and when she came back, she did not stay in the Estrada house in Polk street. She is reportedly staying with her daughter, Jackie Lopez.

San Juan Mayor JV Ejercito, who was the one who recommended Margaux for the position as Estrada spokesperson, belies the rumor. “Kawawa naman ang bata,” he says of the young, aspiring lawyer who was formerly “Flash Report” anchor in GMA-7.

JV said he knew of Margaux during the 2007 mid-term election because she was the candidate of Partido ng Masa for Congress in Mindoro. When she didn’t make it, she suggested her to his father to replace Rufus Rodriguez, who won as representative of the second district of Cagayan de Oro.

“She is hardworking and a loyal PMP member,” JV said.

RC Constantino, one of Earp’s political advisers, laughs off the smear job. “I find it ridiculous if it were not so vicious.”

I talked with Margaux and she said she was devastated when she first learned of the ugly messages. Worse, she said, it was her boyfriend who first told her about it. She wanted to quit but Erap’s advisers like RC and Adel Tamano, spokesperson for the United Opposition, told her that she would make the authors of those lies happy if she did that. “Don’t be stupid,” they told her.

She said that when she signed up to be Estrada’s spokesperson, she was only thinking of the challenge to be with working with someone who plays a major role in the country’s political affairs. It’s only now that she realized she would also have to deal not only with the competition in Estrada’s political organization but also among his various families.

She has learned fast to take things in stride. She relates that, one time she was wearing an empire waist dress, which is making a fashion comeback,RC joked that people who see her would say it’s a confirmation of the pregnancy rumor especially that she has gained weight with all the delicious food in the Estrada household. She laughed when I added that after a few months and her stomach doesn’t swell, people would say she underwent abortion.

Margaux is thankful that her boyfriend, her family, Erap and his trusted advisers are supportive of her. What about Doctora Loi? “That’s between her and the President,” she said.

Someone close to the Estrada family said Erap resented it when Loi confronted him with the talks about Margaux. But she is now back in Polk street, the source said.

JV shares RC’s suspicion that the rumor was the handiwork of some people whose access to Estrada has been limited with the presence of Margaux. “They have to deal with her instead of talking directly to Erap,” a source said. Also, the fact that she is a recommendee of JV makes the “Loi faction” wary of her.

Margaux said, “the best option for me is to do a good job and to excel.”

One of Erap’s lieutenants said he suggested to the ousted president who is threatening to run for the presidency in 2010 to get Vice President Noli de Castro as his running mate. He said Erap didn’t say anything which he interpreted as open to the idea.

He advised Estrada to offer De Castro no less than P1 billion because he heard that, that’s the offer of Senate President Manuel Villar. He said someone told him that in 2004, Gloria Arroyo gave De Castro 500 million reasons to be her running mate.

The adviser said he suggested to Erap to make his offer more palatable by including term-sharing: he will only serve the unfinished portion of presidency (three years and six months) and the vice president can finish the six year term.

I told him: “Listening to you, I feel like puking. You all are just playing with the country.”

    Hello, Ellen.

The adviser said he suggested to Erap to make his offer more palatable by including term-sharing: he will only serve the unfinished portion of presidency (three years and six months) and the vice president can finish the six year term.

I told him: “Listening to you, I feel like puking. You all are just playing with the country.”

I almost did. And I always feel that way whenever I spread open the broadsheets, and read about the scheming of the “opposition” and the “pontificating” from the “opposed.”

Haaaaay…. the only thing that is keeping my hope for continuing rape of our Iniibig kong Pilipinas is God’s infinite wisdom and mercy, that someday, somehow, the people will learn that they themselves have to start the very changes they long for, change from within, before “that leader” comes dashing in to save them from the clutches of our stinking dead society…

Stay well and be well in God’s embrace.

First of all, the rumor about Erap’s romantic affair with his spokesperson is a big lie. Erap is like Obama. Unable to beat Erap’s popularity, his foes now resort to attacking his character thinking that he is running in 2010.

I mentioned in my earlier post that during QC Mayor Belmonte’s birthday party, Villar, De Castro and Erap were there. In fact, Noli and Erap were seated together in one table. Of course they talked about politics. Inviting Noli to be the Vice is a good political strategy given Noli’s own popularity. I believe Erap is willing to share the last three years of his term with his Vice; anyone interested not necessarily Noli. All Erap wants is to vindicate his name and do something for the country.

    That list is not updated.

Number one now is Gloria Arroyo Macapagal

  7. Dapat kasi tapatan ang strategy ng Elite.

The Frustrated but Concerned Citizens must raised funds and finance the uprising of Military Patriots so that a government can be established that is beholden only to the people.

    Otherwise, paulit-ulit paikot-ikot lang tayo.

To start with this idea, we can rally behind Capt. Faeldon. We can raise funds thru him. All OFWs can chip in, say $100 each of the 5 million = $500 million.

Ain’t that enough to buy a President and establish our own Good Government?

This idea is a lot better than shouting on the streets when nobody’s listening, or marching towards a hotel instead of attacking Malacanan itself. The days of Peaceful Revolution are over. We are dealing with a cunning vicious Animal of the worst kind.

We know the problem. We acknowledge that there is a problem, but we are only wishing for solutions. We are wishing for choices: “Sana tatakbo si ganito.” “Sana gagawin ni ganito and ganyan.” Sana.

We need to determine ad make available our own options. We have the resources to acquire it. $100 is peanuts compared to what it can “buy”… if we can agree on it.

I can assure you, once an independent, unbeholden leaders are in place, nobody need to be an OFW again. We have the technology that could free us from Mideast Oil. This technology could industrialized our agriculture at virtually no cost to us. We can be prosperous without the World Bank, and the dictates of foreign institutions.

We have the means, resources and know-how to better our lives without foreign assistance. We can start now instead of waiting 2010. We can do it.

But we must be willing to pay the price.

  8. We need to determine AND make available our own options.

Something is going on in Malacanang. After Apostol’s resignation, then comes the BIR Chief.

  10. Mike Mike

  15. bitchevil bitchevil

Erap being placed as the 10th most corrupt in the world is being disputed. The survey group that conducted it based it on the information fed by GMA government and what they got from media. Again, Erap is being hit and attacked just like what Obama’s foes are doing to him in America. You get hit from behind when you’re in front.

  16. dandaw dandaw

She died pennyless, binangkrupt ni Erap.

Pretty soon, the Arroyos will be in the list. Most probably higher than Erap only because the Arroyos ‘ruled’ the Philippines longer than your idol. And pretty soon, dahil walang pagbabago sa ‘way of life’ sa Pilipinas, the list will soon be populated by Filipino presidents.

The United Nations Convention against Corruption was completed on 9 December last year, while the African Union’s own convention came out in July 2003.

Ratification of these conventions, said TI UK chief Laurence Cockcroft, would help root out corrupt politicians and – just as importantly – get the stolen cash back home.

The UN Convention, he said, “provides a formal framework for mult-lateral action” by law enforcement.

“And it greatly improves the scope for repatriation of assets by cutting through the legal obscurantism of the past.”

God even must be protecting us from economic failures.

the last time i checked, the Philippines is still part of asia…..

On Wall Street, the Dow Jones industrials, already down 21 percent for the week, dropped nearly 700 points more in the opening minutes of trading but made up much of that fresh loss in the last hour. The index closed 128 points lower for its worst week ever. Stock markets in Europe and Asia also took another plunge.

  23. Bob: 2. Ang Sinungaling na Pinuno na hindi babaero ?
    *****

Hindi babaero pero balita namang lalakero! 😛

  24. I don’t think that Erap was able to steal much during his short reign, because everyone knew the coffers were drained empty by his predecessor, and no foreign lender was really that willing to lend money to the Philippines the way China for instance patronizes the dorobo. Whatever he most likely pocketed and distributed to his fans ala-Robin Hood, they came from jueteng lords and other tong givers like Chavit Singson.

Is that good? Over in the Philippines, it seems to be an accepted fact and an accepted Malacanang tradition according to my source, but over where I am based, it is still graft and corruption enough for anyone exposed to try to redeem self-esteem and reputation by jumping from a tall building head down!

    Kawawang bansa!

Anwhat does that lieutenant wants, play with politics??? that guy is playing only for himself, like any other policians, he is only after his own personal interest.

Like the HOODS occupying the present adminstration, they are all the same. If they really want to serve the country, it’s no term sharing at all. Either you serve the whole six year or don’t run anymore.

They are just like the wolves, ready to jumps over the unknowing victims by the pack.

That’s it, if I call gloria’s group the “HOODS”, I will the group of erap the “PACK”. All of them are opportunists.

People in Lakas and the camp of Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos Recto who have been selling since last year the idea of the former actress being the administration’s vice presidential bet for 2010 have found a very good reason to float the idea again.

Following Republican John McCain’s choice of a woman governor as his running mate for the November elections in the US, spin-masters here have started comparing the popular Governor Vi to Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
