Sabi ni Singson, pini-presenta niya ang kanyang sarili sa administrasyon ngunit kung puno na ang tiket, balik na lang siya sa Ilocos Sur. Pwede pa naman siya magpa-reelect para gubernador.
Sige, Chavit, takbo para senador. At nang makita mo kung gaano ang pagkamuhi sa iyo ng taumbayan.
Utang na loob ni Gloria Arroyo kay Chavit ang kanyang pagakyat sa pagka-pangulo noong 2001 kahit hindi siya binoto ng taumbayan. Maala-ala natin na si Chavit ang nagbulgar ng koleksyon ni dating Pangulong Estrada sa jueteng.
Kaya naman walang hinto na an pagbabayad utang ni Gloria Arroyo kay Chavit. Kapag may nire-rekomenda si Chavit para sa mga posisyon sa gobierno, mahirap tanggihan ni Arroyo.
Nagkakagulo sa Poro Point dahil gusto kontrolin ni Chavit ang pier diyan. Ewan kung may kinalaman yan sa mga paglipana ng mga smuggled goods na nagkakalat hindi lamang sa Ilocos kungdi na rin sa ibang bansa.
Akala siguro ni Chavit pareho pa rin noong 2001 na hinirang siyang bayani ng mga civil society na nagpatalsik kay Estrada. Hindi niya yata alam na marami na nagsisisi sa paglagay kay Arroyo sa Malacañang.
Nahihirapan ang Malacañang magbuo ng kanilang tiket para senador dahil walang may gustong sumali sa kanila. Sa sobrang baho ng pangalan ni Arroyo, lahat na nakadikit sa kanya, aayawan na rin ng mga tao.
Kahit nga ang mga tauhan ni Gloria, ang linya nila ngayon ay reconciliation kuno. Noong isang araw, tinanong ko si Rep. Chiz Escudero, na tatakbo bilang senador sa tiket ng oposisyon, tungkol sa litrato na lumabas sa Inquirer kung saan naka-abresete sila ni Gloria Arroyo sa kasal ng anak ni Rep. Prospero Nograles sa Davao.
Sabi ni Escudero, proxy lang siya ni Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco na president ng kanilang partido, Nationalist People’s Coalition. Sabi niya na magba-backout sana siya nang malaman na si Arroyo ang partner niya. Kaya lang, nakiusap si Nograles dahil gusto raw niyang pumapel na para siya sa reconciliation. Di ba pinapalutang rin ang pangalan ni Nograles para senador.
Si Mike Defensor, presidential chief of staff na isa sa magiging kandidato ng administrasyon para senador ay nanawagan na palayain raw si Erap.
Siyempre walang naniniwala kay Defensor na sinsero siya. Gusto lang niya makakuha ng boto sa mga supporters na Erap.
Akala nila tanga ang taumbayan.
Nangugulo lang iyang si Chavit… Sige na nga, takbo na siya at ipamudmod niya ang pera niyang ninakaw.

I read that item on a wedding where GMA went with her flight given the priority to take off inspite of an earlier warning that an oncoming plane was running out of fuel. The request was not heeded because the airport officials said that GMA trip was more important. Not even it if endangered the lives of some 231 passengers most of whom are returning OFWs.
What I would like to comment is not on the flight but on Francis Escudero being side by side with GMA. Dalawang katanungan kasi ang naglalaro sa aking isipan pero ito’y tungkol kay Danding Cojuangco na alam nating malaki rin ang pakialam sa political situation natin even though he’s not quoted lately.
1. Why did Danding Cojuango forego the wedding when it’s GMA attending? Is not it a sort of snub?
2. Why did Danding Cojuango asked Francis Escudero to act as his proxy him when all know, Francis is leading the opposition’s fight in Congress to have her impeached? Danding could be very well represented by his nephew, Rep. Gilbert Teodoro since he is one among those being considered to run as Senator under the administration ticket.

It’s all speculation at this point. Kung may ibang dahilan si Danding sa pag-proxy ni Chiz Escudero, hindi natin alam. I can only say that Escudero is a true blooded opposition. Danding was loyal to Marcos and very close to Erap. Hindi man niya aminin, mahirap na makursunadahan niya ang isang tulad ni Arroyo. Maraming puwedeng ipintas kay Danding pero lahat ay saludo sa kanyang loyalty sa kaibigan. He left with Marcos and stayed with Marcos until the last minute. Bumalik na lang siya sa Pilipinas nang namatay na si Marcos. Danding’s political influence cannot be ignored. He has the money and the leader of NPC. Marami ang may utang na loob sa kanya.

Re Chi’s ‘mukhang atsay’
Butch Tuason was invited to the last b-day dinner for former Pres Diosdado Macapagal in the Macapagal home in Forbes Park (as Mike Fatso Sr’s his first cousin) while Gloria was still VP early on during Erap’s term.
Butch quipped that as usual, Gloria who had no dress sense was so badly attired, that she stood out at the relatively small dinner party gathering because she “looked almost shabby.” His own words.
Gloria learned to dress up only in early 2003 when she “acquired” a full time wardrobe mistress. But before then, boy, she absolutely had no dress sense.
I have the impression that some of our kababayan abroad are not familiar with many of the politicians back home especially the young ones like Escudero. To be able to come up with a fair assessment of the politicial events in the Philippines, mabuti pang pag-aralan din nila kung sinu-sino ang mga pulitiko natin lalo na iyon mga aktibo ngayon. Chiz Escudero is one. Not knowing him affects our judgment. Kung puwede lang po, sana ipakilala dito sa blog na ito ang mga bagong dugo na pulitiko lalo na sa hanay ng opposition.
Butch had a great time making a laughingstock of Gloria…whenever he could, he would make fun of Gloria to friends.
And by the way, he also revealed what Erap had warned his (Erap’s) cronies about, almost prophetically: To watch out because he was sure that as the sun rises that Gloria would be the next president.
Butch used to repeat Erap’s own quip long before or a year before Gloria led the judicial putsch (borrowing from Dean)toppling Erap although of course, Erap hadn’t foreseen that that was how Gloria would become the country’s next president.
Ms. de brux, don’t forget that Arroyo has a PR-media consultant in the person of Lupita Kashiwara. Itong si Lupita ang director ni Arroyo tuwing may TV appearance siya o media conference. Her looks and facial expression on TV are guided by the professional hands of Lupita.

He & his wife celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. In fact JdV was there “licking his wounds,” to quote an informant who was present at that time.
I agree w/ you that “Maraming puwedeng ipintas kay Danding pero lahat ay saludo sa kanyang loyalty sa kaibigan.” GLORIA most certainly, is ill-equipped when it comes to LOYALTY. She does not know the word, much less possess the quallity !

I agree with that loyalty is a good virtue, but when does one’s loyalty ends and when does one righteousness starts. We can only be loyal to our friends if they remained righteous. I myself would not think twice of turning in a friend who I knew committed a wrongful deed, especially if it’s a crime. But on the other hand betraying a good friend is treason and that is what Gloria has been doing all her life. For her selfish desires and agrandishments, she has betrayed not only her friends but her people and her country and that is worse than treason, can’t find a proper word for it..any one in mind?

Gloria, simply put, is a PR nightmare. To begin w/, just looking at the basics, Gloria’s height does not make her look dignified, her looks are unappealling, she has some sort of speech impediment, & how she comes across is antipatica. I tell you, GLORIA is a hard sell ! Whether she is intelligent, it gets drowned by how she comes across people. In other words, LOSER.

Eto na naman ang isang balita. So, Atty. Lozano after all was instrumental in the killing of the impeachment against Arroyo. Lozano is Imelda’s lawyer and long time friend. Imelda is now Arroyo’s buddy-buddy. Kayo na po bahala sa conclusion.

It is always the pattern of criminal process, that the perpetrator can “stage managed” the crime after the commission and all witnesses agree to the plot and if the perpetrator is a very wealthy and powerful with connections from within, there’s not much choice for the witnesses but to play their parts or else, and other witnesses can always be brought into the act. And the police? Some are complicit, some are hired to join the play, some are simply impotent, and the righteous ones just simply got vanished into the backstage and relegated to the minor roles or nothing at all. Such is the sorry state of our Justice System if you happen to be the victim of the powerful and the wealthy and the elites. so selective that sometimes the only recourse is the street justice, meaning Vengeance is never as sweet..
So why is Erap still continuing to entertain this kid Defensor? The eager beaver still has some maturing to do. Leaves a wake of confusion and trouble wherever he goes and whenever he speaks.

Then Ate mengGUY turn around and became one of gloria’s bullet’s against Erap. Erap is no saint, but his a victim of his own folly. He was so foolish when he believed and trusted his chinese bank owners that they can open an account for him under an alias, he was foolish not to smell the set-up that was being put for him. He was foolish to ever trust an angelic looking woman in the name of Clarissa Ocampo could be trusted not to leak the pieces of documents that he signed under the name of Jose Velarde, and the most foolish thing that he did was to entrust angie reyes, his kumpadre who in fact is a cabalen to handle his regime’s security.
But of course, Erap could now say, who are the fools now? Him or those civil society groups led by the now dead cardinal of Manila who let themselves to be used and now abused by the same person they helped by giving the POWER with their open palms to the cuty-cute gloria back in January 2001. The gloria arroyo who turned out to be a creature of the same species like the gremlins, who are cuddly cuties, but are in fact monsters, greedy-evil monsters.

In the Philippines, a few years back, there was a big story on that pyramid and networking scam. There was one presentation made in our house and I noticed the lure was material success.
The worse thing about what happened in the Philippines was that, many of the victims were people struggling for a decent life like teachers, government employees, families of OFWs.
There’s a lesson to be learned from this. I hope we learn from it.
Yes Ellen, these kind of Schemes were as old as scammers themselves, but you are right, the underlying reason why it still works for good actors is the Greed and it is common to Humans and sometimes, somehow, someone will always succeed to extract that for their own Greed. The pyramid scheme also proliferated in Paris. The PCI bank manager there is allegedly involved.
One of the major associates is apparently the sister of the woman who was apprehended in Manila for the scheme – the Philippine Embassy (under Amba Villarroel) sent out a circular a year ago to the associations to beware of that they believe is pyramid scam on the roll; they attached press clippings to the circular from Manila relating the criminal activities of the Manila relative(the one heading the alleged scam in Paris carries the same name of the one indicted in Manila.)
Some of the association leaders have banded together to gather evidences against the PCI bank officer alleged to be a major partner in the scam. They haven’t stopped digging, i.e., the guys are under observation – police have been told apparently.

I am saddened to hear about the recent decision of Environment Secretary Angelo Reyes (PMA ’66) not to run for the Senate in May. We need more good men running the government and crafting beneficial laws. Had he decided to run, Reyes would have most likely lost and the one-year ban on government appointments against election losers would have definitely given this administration the chance to stumble into appointing someone who is, at least, qualified for the job. So, I say again, for all the good it will do this country: “Run, Angie, run.”

Ma’m Ellen, it was not FPJ who put Rudy Meyer in his position that time, it was Erap though surely Rudy Meyer’s relationship with FPJ and Erap made it possible. And about his being a director, I remember back then that he was able to direct and co-direct a number of movies, in fact he’s a member of the KDPP (Kapisanan ng mga Direktor ng Pelikulang Pilipino) back in the 80’s, which used to be the only association for local movie directors. I should know cause my father was a member when he was still alive. But now, they have this Director’s Guild of the Philippines, a breakaway group from the original KDPP whose president for a long time was FPJ himself.

Kasi TT, sa shobiz hangga’t hindi ka talaga naglaladlad ng iyong kapa, berde pa rin dugo mo. Tulad ni Piolo Pascual, term sa kaniya berde pa lang, pa-menthol ika nga. Pero kapag tulad ka na ni Rustrum (as Keanna Reeves erroneously calls Rustom) iyon, reyna na ang bansag duon, at kakaiba na kulay ng dugo nuon, it’s more of a raibow type colors, makulay ika nga…hehehe.

Ma’m Ellen, nakalakihan ko na na berde ang tawag sa kulay ng dugo ng mga lalaking medyo alanganin ang tunay na pagkalalaki sa shobiz. Though in my own opinion some of them are not really gay, but a bit finesse. Kaya lang, sa dami na ng nagladlad sa shobiz na dating mga siga pa….hehehe, I guess eksperto na ang mga tao diyan sa pag-amoy kung sino ang may luntiang likido sa kanilang ugat. 😀
But with regards to miguela zubiri, amoy na amoy siya nuong buhay pa ang ka-love team ni Claudine Barretto na “nabangungot daw” sa Palawan. 😉
