Essay writing contest on malaria

Beginning 15 March 2010, Malaria No More, a non-governmental organization committed to ending malaria deaths in Africa, and Novartis, the Swiss pharmaceutical company, are sponsoring the “World Briefing: Telling the Malaria Story” contest for graduate students.

Malaria is a highly preventable and treatable disease – yet each year, malaria infects nearly 300 million people and kills nearly one million, mostly children under the age of five in sub-Saharan Africa.1 But with broad awareness and the right tools, like nets and medication, malaria deaths and suffering can be greatly reduced.

The goal of this contest is to encourage our future leaders to think about malaria and inform their peers about its serious impact. Participants will also be inspired to learn how organizations like Novartis and Malaria No More are working to reduce malaria-related suffering and have made impressive strides in saving lives.

To spread the word, we’re asking graduate students in the United States, Argentina, Ecuador, Italy, Netherlands, Philippines and Venezuela to develop a 500 word-or-less blog post and 140 character-or-less Twitter entry (“Tweet”) focused on the current malaria burden and ways in which the next generation can make progress in the fight. We’ve attached full entry details, contest guidelines and background.

The three students whose blog posts are judged best will travel with Novartis to a malaria endemic country in Africa during the fall of 2010. This is a unique opportunity to meet officials from the Ministry of Health and National Malaria Control Programme (NMCP), and learn about current efforts underway to control malaria. The winners may also have the chance to travel to local clinics, meet physicians, patients and leaders from the Novartis Malaria Initiatives team and Malaria No More. While in Africa, the winners will be asked to blog and report in real-time about their experiences, giving them the chance to post insights on malarianomore.org, Facebook and Twitter.

The contest is open for entries from Monday March 15, 2010 to Friday, April 30, 2010. For more details, please visit www.WorldBriefing.org or www.novartis.com.ph.

Malaria kills nearly one million a year.

Well, wait for the global financial meltdown and you will see 1/3 of the world population will die primarily due to hunger which is instigated by UN, Luciferian Jesuits, and oligarchs.

WARNING: A cataclysmic event is about to occur before the end of the year 2010 due to financial meltdown.

The Obama’s $7 Trillion stimulus package did not create jobs in private sector. Only about $3 Trillion were spent and the $4 Trillion is unaccounted(meaning they don’t know where it went or spent) for that’s why Americans are demanding audit on that private company called Federal Reserve. The Chinese, Japanese, and other countries will not be able to lend (or not willing) US additional $7 Trillion to prevent it from falling off the cliff.

Do you think Europe is safe? Think again. The European banks needs $25 Trillion for bailout. That’s about 4 times than what the US needs to delay the financial armageddon.

Are you following what is happening in Greece, Portugal, Italy and Spain? Even Bernanke said last week that what happened to Latvia can happen in US. Japan is saying that they are in minor recession which is nothing but a lie, they had been in “Depression” for many months now.

Tent cities are sprouting from coast to coast in US. A lot of commercial buildings in Las Vegas are empty. According to New York stats in the first quarter of 2009, the occupancy rate of their commercial buildings was 60%. What do you think is the stat for the first quarter of 2010? Do you think it will get better?

Do you know how many thousand of banks are about to fail in US? I am talking about thousands and not hundreds. As I said before, there are no more bailout money available for these banks. How many banks in Europe will fail?

The real unemployment rate in US is about 22% and not the 9% as advertised by oligarch controlled media.
