It’s still GO candidates leading

In Pulse Asia’s April 21-25 survey on Filipinos senatorial preferences, six Genuine Opposition candidates make it to the Magic 12, four Team Unity and two independent.

The six from GO are Loren Legarda, Chiz Escudero, Manny Villar, Panfilo Lacson, Alan Cayetano, Noynoy Aquino.

From the TUTAs, the four are Ralph Recto, Joker Arroyo, Edgardo Angara and Migs Zubiri.

The two independent candidates are Kiko Pangilinan and Gregorio Honasan.

Gainers are Honasan who jumped from no. 12 to no. 7 when he was released from detention and was able to personally campaign, and Migs Zubiri who made it to the Magic 12 for the first time.

Biggest loser is Tito Sotto who found himself out of the Magic 12.

Antonio Trillanes IV, who continues to be in detention although he has been allowed media access, has improved his standing from no. 20-22 in the April 5 survey to no. 16 – 22 in the latest survey.

In the April 5 survey, Trillanes got the nod of 17 percent of Filipinos. He is now preferred by 22.8 percent of Filipinos.

Ana Marie Tabunda of Pulse Asia said this is their last pre-election survey in the run-up to the May 14 election.

  1. GO should not be too elated by this. They can still be cheated. The lutong makaw ballots are already ready to be counted specially in the 61 countries where voting by mail is allowed. It was done in 2004 in Japan as a matter of fact. It can be repeated once more. I’m keeping our tally sheet qas proof of the excess ballots counted then supposedly to be ballots misdelivered to the Comolec that was in fact an impossibility since the outer envelopes of the ballots by mail did not bear any return address to Comolec. It’s another mind conditioning through these unreliable surveys!

    Yuko,

I always see surveys like you do, just a mind conditioning method. They can manipulate the results to satisfy their ends. I could not believe in all my life that Zubiri did a quantum leap from the middle bottom to the magic twelve in just a few weeks.

Inspite of all the things he did.

Ellen, medyo nahirapan ako bago nakalog-in. I forgot my password, nag-reset ako. Matagal na palang hindi ako nakakapag-internet. Anyway, I just want to warn the TEAM(BUWANG) Unity…..subukan nyo dayain muli ang eleksyon….iyan na ang magiging hudyat ng pang-4 at huling rebolusyon diyan sa Pilipinas. SOBRA NA ANG GANID NI GLORIA, SOBRANG KAPAL NA NG MUKHA NG KANYANG MGA ALIPORES…..ENOUGH!!!!

  6. dzandueta dzandueta

Frankly, I’m surprised El Gringo’s supposedly in the magic 12. I guess he’s doing something right that the other candidates would be hard-pressed to know.

There may be a lot of surveys showing that GO is leading but with the militarization of the elections again (although the AFP do not acknowledge this)with the two hemorroids-the cheating generals still in power, the comelec cheats still in their positions and the tiyanak flooding the country with election money, it is doubtful that this election is going to be clean. At least for now, it is good to know that the people are simply tired of the tiyanak’s governance! I hope that everyone will be vigilant to guard their own votes with GO.

I hope that Fatso’s hospitalization (if it was a real heart operation or if it was only “election operation”) minimized the bribery of the election officials.

I doubt that tiyanak and Fatso will not oil their electioneering machinery for the May elections. I hope that every locality will watch over their sacred votes.

even honasan makes it (again) this time, i have said what i had said and there’s no more taking him back!

it is not his winning that is important, it is his principle that was tainted with his soft stand on issues surrounding gloria’s cheating in 2004.

    Rose & Ellen,

I stand corrected with the capital of Antique, San Jose de Buenavista. I am sure I’ll be able to visit and drop by Tilao’s Resto on my next trip to Antique because I’ll be riding on my mountain bike to tour around Panay Island. I will also have a chance to see the biggest flower in Sibalom and stay overnight in one of your mountain resorts.

Can you recommend what is the best place where to build a beach resort in Antique?

  10. what is tilao’s resto?

Re:Can you recommend what is the best place where to build a beach resort in Antique?

Try Pandan. It’s about an hour to Boracay.

    Ellen,
Tiola’s Resto, pala!..hahaha! Yup! You have wider beaches in Pandan.

Kahit saan ako magtanong at kahit saan ako mapunta straigt sila sa GO, walang TU.

TAYO ANO!!!!!!!!

  19. Yuko,

Re “They can still be cheated. ”

GO WILL BE cheated. We don’t know by how many votes but as sure as the sun rises, Gloria’s cheating machinery will NOT, I repeat, WILL NOT STOP now…

    jdeleon5022,

Given na yan. Kung nagawa noon mas matindi pa ngayon. Noon patago, ngayon garapalan!

What logic!

Dito walang nagugutom at lahat may bahay at lupa. Smiling lahat dahil kuntento.

  31. Fnny why Filipinos depend on these phony surveys to vote a phony official. In Japan, surveys are used to force officials here to improve on their performance.

I, for one, do not believe in these surveys, and never have we voted for anyone in Japan based on some phony surveys, but rather vote on the basis of sound platforms. And we use the election to tell an administration whether or not we like what it does. If we boycott the election or when the number of people voting is below average, then they know the people are not happy and they need to change the Prime Minister.

But then, the Philippines cannot be compared to that of Japan. In the first place, we do not have a criminal calling himself “Prime Minister of Japan” unlike in the Philippines where a criminal calls herself “President of the Republic of the Philippines” and acts like a queen!

  32. Mind control evidence is the rising up of Honasan from #20 to #7 when it should have been the opposite because of his turn coating. And golly, how can Filipino voters be tricked into believing that Zubiri is going to win e alam na alam ng karamihan ang kalibre ng ungas na iyan?

Kawawang mga pilipino, ginagawang mga bobo at tanga! Kawawang bansa!

BTW, Ellen, I just learned that the Pidals were able to sell the ambassador’s residence against a Supreme Court ruling that NO PHILIPPINE PATRIMONY CAN BE SOLD, ETC. WITHOUT A NATIONAL REFERENDUM. Payment I guess will be received after election kaya may pambayad ng ang mga mag-asawang ganid sa mga pinangakuan nilang babayaran nila para lang huwag silang mapatalsik!

Negotiations have been going on in the Philippines. This should have been investigated by the media there. Maraming abogado dito na handang tumulong as a matter of fact.

  33. cocoy cocoy

The survey proves that the voters either awakened or still sleeping in a worst nightmare. But, let me first share a comment from my Ilongo friend,”Ang amon boto wala ginabaligya” He also want to send a message to Raul Gonzales ‘Kiputa baba mo’.

These are the same faces of traditional politicians which some are perceived to be corrupt, same players wearing different color of jersey. Some are always pregnant with promises; it is carrying in it’s social and political womb an under-developed political process that has yet to be fully delivered. Although. it may seem obvious to some, many convolute the issue by saying a vote for TU is a vote for Gloria. For those who vote for their conscience and agree to impeach and derail the Cha-Cha train, vote for GO. Send a message to Gloria and Esperon by voting through our conscience. Electing a senators and solons in congress should not be like electing a prom queen (not porno queen) Election is not a popularity contest and who has the most money. It is a decision that we need to look closely for the individual benefit and freedom of the Filipino people.

Politics in our country is a clan domination, if you are not Recto, Marcos, Osmena, Magsaysay, Roxas Macapagal or an avenue or an alley named after the famous and, if you are not yet famous, and don’t have a quality of star look (sorry Cesar Montano,it is not you) people don’t know and they don’t vote. Our politics is in the context of the institution of history, and that the social and political institution of tradition that set the ebb and flow of the voters collective wish. What we need to recognized, and this is a crucial point, is that as a social institution the political clan and names contains no social, political and economic theory in the government, nor it can deliver social and political goods in a way that makes progress in society an achievable objectives. These traditional politicians are trained to be a politician and that’s the way they make a living. We need new breeds and new idealism in government.

  34. parasabayan parasabayan

The tiyanak may not cheat the top six on the list but she will with the bottom six. It does not really matter if they are at the bottom, the tiayank will by hook or by crook have most of her candidates win. She will do anything to win. She already sold her soul a thousand times (this is the number of killed activists and the like in her watch). It does not matter if she has to sell her soul millions of times over.

The incredible jump of Honasan in the polls from the 22nd to the 7th position is unbelievable. Maybe the people still believe in him afterall. I don’t anymore. We will see how he does in the actual elections.

I hope that GO will have enough manpower to man the election booths and the actual counting and tallying of the votes until the results are final. The critical move is in the final stages. This is when the votes are compromised at best. All the paid cheating machines are active in the final stages.

WE NEED A MIRACLE AND A BIG ONE COME ELECTION TIME!

I must be an incurable optimist because I believe that the good will triumph over evil. If the majority of the voters will not compromise their votes and the vote watchers will really do their mandated jobs, the voice of the people will prevail.

Agree! No good lawyer can argue that statement in any court, even Raul Gonzales and his 10,000 pesos per barangay is in limbo. He better not count the chicken until the eggs is hatched because his farm might be infected with bird-flu.

We all know that this election in a few more days to come, may be on the brink of repeating the Hello Garci scandal debacle, but this time it could be nationwide in every barangay with 10,000 pesos gratuity in every barangay chairman, with allegations of voters fraud, Mang Kulas the kabesa de barangay during spanish time voted twice, together with Rolando Galman and Ferdinand Magellan. Intimidation and manipulation of votes and ballot snatching by the armed men of Captain Dugay added to the general chaos that will send our GO candidates to contest the results in Abalos court, Bora!Bora! De Bola ang resulta. But, there is still time for GO volunteers to reduce the chance of another Garci scandal, bantayan natin ang resulta, hello Tongue!wer-r-u?D-2 na-mi. That switching of printed ballots will not happen unless we acknowledge that the henchmen of Esperon has a live bullet of ammunition. Then, the volunteers will be confronted with ugly situation, they better protect that ballot before reaching another senate inquiries with a”Noted” result and spend another tax-payer money for a broken gavel.

The level of suspicion has grown dramatically that it threatens to undermine our political system, and we could not relax and take it easy while the helicopter is hovering on the horizon piloted by Esperon and on the back seat is Gloria and Jose Pidal. If this escalates, we’re in horrendous shape, we become slaves on Gloria’s Enchanted Kingdom.

Albano is in stressful situation, the job loss he is talking about are within his bound, in government service they called that 15/30 employees. He is in panic mood if the TU will loss, means her boss will be in severe ailment of psychological devastation. That’s the job loss Albano is concern and he is looking for someone to blame as a lousy excuse. There is no more good employment for the college graduates in the Philippines, Either a hamburger flipper or a factory worker and a street sweeper. What job? From the TUTAs, the four are Ralph Recto, Joker Arroyo, Edgardo Angara and Migs Zubiri.

Maybe I’m dense, but I don’t understand why Joker Arroyo seems to be placed in a “negative” light here. Doesn’t his record of opposing Ms. Arroyo’s actions mean anything?

    Oh well, it’s your blog.

    dzandueta,

what and how would you call a person who sits, eats, drinks, laughs and sleeps with one you say he once opposed but who he now embraces and shields?

  41. Anna:

We already know how the Comolec will help the Cheat in Command to cheat in this election to make sure that only 6 of the GO senatoriables with one or two balimbings among them being allowed to win assuming that the independent (?) winners will also turn balimbing with her dangling the dought from sales of Philippine patrimonies, etc. Surely, you must also know by now how the Comolec will utilize the absentee votes with a lot many OFWs not going to the polls to vote. Lalong lutong makaw ang gagawin. 61 countries are allowed to vote.

Just imagine the excess ballots to be counted there. In 2004, we discovered 300 excess ballots in Japan. If they go by that rule, imagine 61 countries x 300 excess ballots will give the TUtas extra 18,300 OFWs, not a million but enough for the Comolec to declare the TUs as victors, and that will mean end of the Senate!

    Wow! Ang galing mandaya!

  42. Ooops, ang bilis ng kamay! This should be, “dangling the DOUGH!”

I agree with your perception with Joker, I am finding a difficult words to define his definite connotations and his continuing role in politics, for me he should retire and chat with Jovito Salonga over a cup of coffee while feeling the aroma of morning breeze in his veranda.

He once a righteous person, who trained his mind to consider the interest of our country, he acted always for a greater good. He is now an old person suffering Alzheimer, an old man can often not to avoid making a bad situation worse and can even turn an enemy than a friend. He lost his perceived loyalty to our country and he parted in a thorny way, his loyalty to our country and his unwillingness to sacrifice his personal interest necessary for the sake of new breed political aspirant who can lift the country from abject poverty. Because of his selfish perseverance his name will included in the “Hall of Shame”next to Marcos and Saddam Hussien.

what and how would you call a person who sits, eats, drinks, laughs and sleeps with one you say he once opposed but who he now embraces and shields?

To answer in 2 simple words, a person. Anything more is up to you and everyone else.

The link below supposedly gave his reason why he’s sticking it out with the administration in the upcoming elections:

    http://www.inquirer.net/specialfeatures/eleksyon2007/view.php?article=20070302-52576

Lynette Luna: Why under the administration?

Joker Arroyo: Well, I ran in 2001 in the People Power Coalition. That was the slate of the President. The fact is that I never left the party, although I criticized the party. I think…just too much, no? So if I run now, it doesn’t–it’s just that I’m running the same ticket that I ran with the last time.

And also on balance I figured out that if along the way, you’ll ask me questions, I’ll tell you why I chose this one, because, as I’ve said, you know, in a crisis, then the reason precisely why I decided to run again: One cannot be neutral in a crisis. One has to take sides. Because I think that being neutral is for those people, fence sitters and all that, you have to take a position, and, you know, stand by it; and, along the way, you ask me then I’ll ask you why, I decided to run for the ticket for this one, for the Administration slate.

    So may I continue?

    Lynette Luna: Yes.

Joker Arroyo: All right. You see it’s like this: The opposition I’ve been watching, in my case for instance, in the Senate. I fought the President in the Peoples’ Initiative, and I was the one who argued for the Senate. No one else argued. They could have, but they didn’t.

The only one in the opposite side who helped was Koko Pimentel, who was not a candidate then, because he argued also the case in the Supreme Court.

Then the case of the EO 464, a direct challenge to the Senate, now I again appear in the Senate and argued against it, against EO 464. Then, when the PCGG [the President Commission on Good Government-ed] tried to abuse its powers, the Senate went to Supreme Court; I argued again, again the case.

In the Venable contract, I am going to the Supreme Court and argued the case. All those cases, I argued and won all of them. No defeats.

Now, in the case of 1017 and another one, I forgot already, for 1017 proclamation, which was an assault on freedom of assembly, freedom of the press, I as chairman of the committee on public services investigated it and came out with that report condemning the attempts of the government to suppress, you know, press freedom.

Now in that case, I mean, I did more than what any single oppositionist, had or would do, but they’re very loud [in] saying that the President said had…why those things happened.

Now it’s just me. But it takes a lot of guts and integrity to remain consistent in whose party to side with, yet oppose them on certain issues.

Again, that’s just me. You decide what’s more important.

Ellen, just keep your login details safe and your blog should be fine. But try to save your content and back them up elsewhere if you can.

Watch out for another Internet Brigade who may be able to control your site. Gosh, can’t post like the way he does—proof that he can access your blog like you do, and perhaps, even better since you likewise sometimes cannot even access yours that I am told by my provider that is impossible since you should be able to control your own blog. My provider says you must be bugged yourself!

Odd. I can’t seem to submit my comment either.

Hope this site is backed up and all accounts secured. One can’t be too careful.

IMHO it takes guts and integrity for someone to remain consistent (in staying with the administration) yet opposing them openly on certain issues. I’m only quoting a portion of that link since there’s a lot to digest.

But…that’s just me. Obviously only you and everyone else can and will decide respectively what’s more important.

Sorry for possibly commenting off-topic here (and yet again), but I think the reason my first 2 comments didn’t get posted here is because of some kind of filter. Specifically, the blog’s not accepting a URL link, so I had to remove the http:// part.

hi Ellen, off-topic lang. Just saw this report in ANC of an odd couple blocking the Trillanes bail petition. Named as Ms Santarin and a certain Dutch national (wasnt able to catch the name)allegedly as her husband. Not surprising beside this Santarin is KBL Oliver Lozano beside her in a “press hearing” as being shown in the tv.

Tsk,tsk, tsk…kakatawa talaga ang politics dito sa atin…a 24/7 comedy show, moro-moro…

    sol,

hehehe..kakadiri nga eh…whenever i see lozano..nasusuka ako kasi talagang feel na feel nya ang pagiging macoy nya. macoy maybe a monster to some but we cannot deny that the one in the EK is more than an monster and a harlot! i was jst starting my teens when macoy declared 1081, and ignorantly believed that all was well during those days. grwing up in the curfew bound country, i felt it was safe, and there was progress around – which we cannot deny all stopped after him. i mean culturally and in the aspect of nationalism…after macoy, it was all downhill in general.
For now, i can see that in this small blog of Ellenville, marami na ang nag-aalab ang damdamin para sa bayan…at hindi dapat at kailanman pag-sawaan ninuman ang pagiging mapag-mahal sa bayan.

  55. Ellen:

You need to clean this blog. Ang daming unnecessary posts.

  56. Soleil:

Sorry, but my uncle is dead and Lozano is not even a relative. And I doubt if he feels still loyal to Marcos but to himself. Galit na nga ang mga anak ni Marcos sa kaniya e, not that they are trying to get Filipino sympathy for their own political survival but this guy has become really weird. He is in every election, but never gain a stride. Nagiging mukhang mokong lang talaga. Naawa pa naman ako sa kaniya in the last election.

I actually should have listened to Ka Mentong then.

  57. Gosh, Ellen, I got to this loop just now, and boy, may spyware warning na agad ako. Kalilinis ko lang ng PC ko. Ang tindi ng pumasok ditong Internet Brigader. Ingat.

  58. Pag may pumiyak, tinatamaan. Just wait!

From Tribune: Palace: Lacson to be extradited after polls

Antidote for this is a petition from the Filipino people to the Court of the US refuting the allegation fabricated by Malacanang versus Lacson, because the truth is the US may just send an emissary to the Philippines to investigate the Senator if he is reelected so as not to disrupt his function in the Philippine Senate. This is in fact procedural and the Philippines is not even obligated to oblige to any US request for extradition of Lacson especially when the case is already resolved with two culprits in this so-called espionage case already serving their prison terms.

    Mrivera, Cocoy,
No quarrel, Joker IS a good lawyer. I suggest he just practice THAT profession and leave the legislature to law-MAKERS! Uppercase letters for the fact that despite the several years in Congress, he has not passed a SINGLE BILL!

He’s not even as squeaky-clean as he wants us to believe he is. His first run for the Senate was funded by IpDye no less, using funds from PCSO where he first served this Government. Lacson exposed this way before and it’s the reason for the animosity between the two. I think Linggoy Alcuaz still has copies of the tapes of their Board meetings in PCSO to support Lacson’s claims. The same reason Linggoy was kicked out and not because of the dilapidated Kia Besta van he won’t spend a centavo for towing back to PCSO.

In tonight’s news, we heard TUTA campaign manager Reli German complaining how his candidates were “overpricing” campaign ad placements on TV. German said the TUTA senators were paying double compared to what he is paying the networks for ads for the whole team which payments he manages himself. He said the candidates shoulder their own individual ads. Baloney!

If that is so, then it should not be his problem and he need not complain. But since he is complaining, and within the context of overpricing, that gave him away. It’s a virtual confirmation of 2 things: one, that TUTA candidates are being funded by the hundreds of millions of government money and two, that the TUTA candidates are pocketing half of their advertising budgets when they liquidate these expenses at double the price! Its either they submit false bills or they collect big commissions from the tv stations.

And Joker is one of the big spenders! The self-righteous do-nothing octogenarian who blocks all attempts to unmask the PIG dressed in lawyer’s clothes.

Who’s the pundit here who said, “Joker Arroyo, the people’s uragon. Pag Pidal ka, lusot ka!”?

you mean to say this batman nemesis also lied when he said before he has the most less manned staff in the senate (and in congress before) that’s why he saved more than any sena-tong? his activites were featured one time in the filipino channel showing he only had one office staff, one driver bodyguard, does his own paperworks most of the time, etcetera, etcetera.

is this is true, really an arroyo! what comes out from his mouth smells like what is coming out from his ass!
