Chiz, Alan almost lose 100T Zambales votes

Update from Inquirer: Shaved votes restored

Genuine Opposition candidates Francis Escudero and Alan Peter Cayetano were almost victims of apparent vote shaving after the Commission on Elections (Comelec) sitting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBoC) yesterday discovered discrepancies in the certificate of canvass (COC) for Zambales.

The COC showed that votes for Escudero and Cayetano were shaved by 100,000 each.

Based on the COC, Cayetano got 29,198 votes but in the statement of votes (SOV), the votes written were 129,198.

The COC gave the votes gathered by the candidates in the whole province. The SOV gave a breakdown of the votes by municipalities.

Escudero had 85,923 votes in the COC but in the SOV, the written votes stood at 185,923.

Last night, the Comelec decided to use the figures contained in the SOV.

In the COC from Marinduque, independent candidate Gregorio Honasan had his votes padded. In the SOV, Honasan scored 30,776 votes. However in the COC he got 37,776 votes.

Loren Legarda got 1,714 votes in the COC from Rome and Milan, while in the SOV her votes were 1,174, a reduction of about 600 votes.

In Mountain Province, Cayetano had 12,131 votes in the SOV but only 12,137 votes in the COCs.

Comelec Chairman Benjamin Abalos referred the COCs to the audit department for checking. The votes were set aside until they are verified.

He also noted that these are just “manifest errors.”

GO election lawyer Sixto Brillantes said these are clear cases of “dagdag-bawas.”

He said the 100,000 votes shaved from both Cayetano and Escudero could not be considered as “just mere errors.”

Abalos said he will ask that the SOV from the municipalities and the SOV from the precinct be submitted to the NBoC so that they could compare the figures in the two documents.

Former Sen. Ernesto Maceda, an executive committee member of GO, said vote buying hit an all-time high during the May 14 elections with prices ranging from a low of P7,000 to a high of P10,000 per vote.

“Compared to the 2004 elections where I was a (senatorial) candidate, the fraud in terms of cheating as well as vote-buying is five times worse. Money was literally flooding in poor provinces and districts…especially to those areas where (administration) candidates are not sure of winning,” Maceda said.

He said “as far as `dagdag-bawas’ operations are concerned, it’s now in full swing.”

He said the GO headquarters has received reports that some administration local candidates allegedly received large sums of money, supposedly to “buy” votes for the Team Unity candidates.

He said reports indicated that reelectionists Nueva Ecija Rep. Rodolfo Antonino and Aklan Rep. Florencio Miraflores were among the purported “recipients” of the money.

Maceda said that Antonino “literally brought three sacks” full of money to buy the support of some Nueva Ecija mayors who have a price tag of P10 million each.

“The same was done in Agusan del Norte according to (Democrito) Ching Plaza who reported to us that as much as P7,000 per vote (was the running rate there),” he said.

Maceda said they were also told at least three boxes of money estimated at P300 million were supposedly delivered to Miraflores to secure the victory of TU candidates.

“In some poor areas in Metro Manila, (allegedly) barangay chairmen were being paid P30,000 each,” he added.

Maceda said it would not be surprising if the House of Representatives would be dominated once again by administration allies.

“It’s simply because they have flooded their bets with money,” he said.

Malacañang advised the opposition to identify, file charges and prove allegations that members of the administration engaged in cheating, particularly vote-padding-vote-shaving operations in Mindanao.

Team Unity spokesman Joseph Durano said if there are questions or suspicions over the results in some areas, the corresponding election returns should also be set aside and compared with the certificates of canvass and verified.

Durano said tallying of votes in other areas, however, should continue while the investigation is ongoing.

Presidential adviser for political affairs Gabriel Claudio said he had been calling for the fast tracking of the quick counts of the National Citizens Movement for Free Election (Namfrel) to preempt or foil any attempt or efforts to tamper with the results.

Claudio denied allegations by GO candidate Panfilo Lacson that he was among those involved in the tampering of votes.

“Senator Lacson should get his information right. I do not engage in so-called special operations to alter results of the elections. If Senator Lacson has information about so-called operators in the field, he should identify and file charges against them posthaste,” he said.

Senate minority leader Aquilino “Nene” Pimentel has said GO will sue election operators that gave Team Unity a 12-0 victory in Maguindanao province which has 336,000 registered voters.

Based on the results Luis Singson was at first place while Sultan Jamalul Kiram III of Sulu was at 12th place.

Abalos said there might be a real possibility that Team Unity scored a 12-0 sweep in Maguindanao province.

Abalos cited the absence of opposition candidates in the local elections as a likely factor that paved the way for an administration victory.

“If wala namang kalaban yung kandidato e. Di ba si (Maguindanao Gov. Datu Andal) Ampatuan and his sons have no opponents? We will not be surprised if ma-zero ang kalaban. We can say, it is not improbable (to happen),” he said.

Abalos, however, said they will still “look into” allegations of massive cheating but he encouraged critics to present “concrete evidences” instead of relying on second hand information.

    Dear ellen

This is an analysis of NAMFREL’s tally as reported by The Inquirer: Based on two reports: May 18/5:15am and May 19/4:54am, A 24 hours interval five days after the election:

Three topnotchers unchanged: 1st-LEGARDA; 2ND ESCUDERO
And 3rd-LACSON. PANGILINAN (dati panlima) went up as No. 4 and displaced VILLAR Who’s now No. 5. NOYNOY no changed as No. 6; CAYETANO (laglag pronto) from No. 7 to No. 10; Angara went up to replace Cayetano as No. 7 from No. 12, a big jump; TRILLANES (laglag din agad) from No. 8 to
No. 11 (malapit ng mapwera sa panalo). TRILLANES was replaced by JOKER Who climbed from No. 11 to NO. 8; HONASAN no changed as No, 9; Ang malungkot anak ni NENE Pimentel, talsik from No. 10 to No. 13 (like Father like son victima ng DDB, malamang matalo na); si Spike Boy Zubiri Tila tiyak na, umakyat from from 14 to the magic 12. si RECTO ni Vilma Bumaba from 13 to 14.

Yun naman favorites of Ellen’s bloggers: Si Pichay parang mustasang panis, no changed at No. 15; si Defensor gumapang parang uod from No. 17 to No.16. Si Chavit pagulong-gulong sa bangin from No. 18 to No. 23.

    In the ULITMATE ANALYSIS, if the 12 leading candidates are NOW Proclaimed winners, talo na naman ang Pilipinas, talo na naman si Ystakei, si AdeB at si Ellen. BAKIT? There are 7 GOs, 3TUs and 1 IND. Those are stats of phony political aggrupations, not even bogus political parties. Let’s look at the TWELVE and their record and potential. LEGARDA was a so so senator good for planting trees. Escudero was a political inaanak, who did a pipsqueak role in the impeachment debacle;

Lacson is a fighter who fights for 4 rounds of a 10 round bout against Mr. Pidal. He keeps fighting though he has never knock down. Mr. NOTED Pangilinan can never served his country’s interests- a diamond of an Opportunist. Villar and Angara come from the same fabric of silky But devious politics, they have no balls for patriotism. Joker is the joke In human rights struggle, the accidental human rights defender.

Noynoy is a good man not good enough for fighting enemies of his country. Honasan’s accomplishments is theatrical like Lito Lapid’s and could not Succeed in his many coup endeavours. For being so inept, in Thailand or
In Cambodia, he could have been shot by his superiors or his men. Zubiri is for display to foreigners. Poging senador, period. ALL THE ABOVE ARE EASILY
MINCEMEAT FOR GLORIA. Giniling sa sitao at kalabasa; giniling sa ampalaya. Cayetano, No. 10 and Trillanes, No. 11 are the only two guys likely NOT buckle down under Gloria’s charm and venom. Pero as VELARDE said
before TIYAK YUN, laglag and dalawang yan. UNLESS the people show some Bonifacio blood.

TICK their names: Legarda, Escudero, Pangilinan, Villar, Angara, Aquino, Joker, Honasan, and Zubiri. WILL THESE NINE REALLY FIGHT GLORIA? Lacson might do some shadow boxing thinking of 2010. Cayetano and Trillanes, young and idealistic as they are, will only be palatable panghimagas ni Gloria.

I will deal –though boring– with the number of votes
    next time.

Mahimibing pa rin ang tulog natin. Tuwa tayo
Two hundred thousand sa Luzon. Milyon milyon
sa Visayas at Mindanao.
    tayo.

  4. I hate cynical remarks. Puede ba tigilan na because the truth is we are trying hard to prevent this kind of “technical errors” daw. Halatang-halata ang mga Internet Brigaders dito.

Look, who is sleeping? Lahat ng diehard dito, gising na gising! Nagbabantay hanggang matapos ang bilangan. Hindi nga sila makadaya and that’s good! Makadaya man sila sa Mindanao, OK lang.

God apparently is there to inspire and move everyone when a major cheating attempt is being done as in this attempt of cheating votes from Escudero and Alan Cayetano. And what is interesting here is that Abaloslos and Company cannot really explain how they have been exposed! If this is not an Act of God, what is?

To this guy, I say, you of little faith! Remember what happens to people of such faith. If your purpose is to dampen the spirits of bloggers, this I can assure you—you are not succeedin especially now that more and more people are apt to turn the table down for any hunky-funky that the vote-riggers are apt to do on orders of the Malacanang robbers and thieves.

  5. ystakei:
You know and I know that the Malacanang Internet Brigaders are in panic mode and finding it hard to accept the results even with their cheating. This is a happy result for the vast majority of us here in Ellensville – smile.

Perennial cheats will never change. This is the very purpose of the prolonged canvassing- so the cheats can cheat more. This is why our vigilance is so much needed more than ever!

  8. Mrivera Mrivera

anybody here expecting this robot commission on collections play fair game? this agency is where crook gloria macagarapal arroyo depends for her political survival since she cheated her way to another term.

benjamin abalaos, instead of leaving a legacy before he retires completely still let himself used by the cheat and lying usurper. if he (abalaos) is not that unprincipled, he will not let any electoral fraud happen before he retires most especially allowing the another corrupt member of the macagarapal arroyo clan to contest a seat in the congress to where he is not a bonafide resident.

  9. penoyko penoyko

  10. Mrivera Mrivera

now that the elections officers in lanao del sur and maguindanao spilled the beans, expect the masterminds of “dagdag-bawas” ask for more delay in the repeat polls and recanvassing of votes in said places.

It’s only a handful few, who’s holding the place. Nakukuha sa lagay, if the price is right. Obviously, sa mga nangyayari,(it’s their primary BUSINESS way back time immemorial), they got what they wanted! Kaya, wholesale ang TU! Iyan ang sinasabi ng mga pro-admin na , wait till the election returns come from Mindanao! Alam kong mga happenings dito dahil, we used to be NEIGHBORS only!
Tama ang ginagawang protesta ngayon ng Opposition. About time na masugpo ang mga “notorious” leaders na !to.
From Zambales to Mindanao, the fight against cheating, dagdag-bawas or Vote-shaving shouldn’t be ignored or tolerated anymore.
What happened to Alan and Chiz in Zambales was a good example. LABANAN NATIN ANG PANDARAYA!!!

  12. parasabayan parasabayan

Abalos is still eyeing at the Supreme Court position so he still have to suck up to the tiyanak’s ass!

Magno, you can not teach new tricks to old dogs. Abalos was schooled in the ELECTION CHEATING ACADEMY of the Pidals. He is better than Garci and the two hemorrhoids. He is the hand behind every vote. He decides what vote is posted and how it gets posted. In the 100,000 missing votes for Escudero and Allan Cayetano, nabuking lang siya. Sana marami pa tayong madiskubreng kababalaghan ni Abalaos and nip it in the bud!

  13. I doubt if anybody with principle will be willing to serve under the leadership of a criminal. That was why I did not support EDSA 2 even when I actually was not a fan of Estrada either but between Erap and Makapal, I thought the former was still better considering the fact that he was duly elected by Filipinos, who deserved what they got.

Now, we see them learning from their lessons, and that is good. They have mandated that the Midget should be kicked out. By hook or by crook, I know it will happen. I believe that God is listening to their cries for justice and truth. It is actually just a matter of time. The Midget will be history. And hopefully, her reign will be scrapped and considered null and void for all the crimes she had committed to get to where she is presently. She cheated so they may just as well invalidate her presidency.

  14. Mrivera Mrivera

    parasabayan,

you’re wrong! the old dogs under the care of gloria macagarapal arroyo learned this NEW dirty tricks when these animals were fed with rotten provisions. remember they were first trained to catch and try burglars in their respective neighborhood but when gloria became their handler, these highly trained hounds were taught the other way hence, these never ending despicable fraud.

  15. Mrivera Mrivera

    …learned THESE NEW dirty tricks……

Abalos should be impeached alongside with Blinky Tianak! He, who is supposedly to be non-partisan, as the Inquirer editorial puts it, is a no. 1 high official of the Arroyo government! AMININ na lang sa Ama ninyo, “we tried very hard MA’AM, pero, CAUGHT ON THE ACT kami,eh!”
    P.S

  17. One thing that the Filipinos who voted for GO can do is
gather together to protest against anymore cheating the Pandak plans to do. Enough is enough. The madness has to be stopped.

The people have spoken and their mandate be heard. I have faith that God will not allow the cheats to succeed.

  18. chi chi

  19. Mrivera Mrivera

there should be no third time for benjamin abalaos to head the commission on collections’ conduct of election come 2010. but it doesn’t mean retirig him. NO!!!

he should be hanged to death for all his sins to the filipino people. and so with the couple of thieves and their two shameless corrupt sons and pa cute daughter. idagdag pa natin ang mentally derranged iggy arroyo.

Recent news was that GO candidates dominate in the Visayas ! Pati Visaya ayaw na rin sa kanya!

  21. Let’s have a petition for the impeachment of Abalos now.

Good sign as far as I am concerned.

Tang ina nila! Forgive me, but here in Pasay, ginagapang pa rin ang bilangan. It’s all over but the counting, all parties know we won all local seats, we gave one away at the Senate for Angara because he is Peewee’s party head. But it seems Malacañang is determined to sneak in more dagdag-bawas votes.

The nuns, priests and volunteers running the Namfrel count over at the Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Harrison have been getting death threats if they don’t stop their counting. The Comelec canvass at Cuneta Astrodome is taking forever to finish. When big provinces like Pampanga or Zambales are done counting, how come a city as small as Pasay isn’t even half-done? We’ve called back many of our lawyers whose jobs ended after we submitted the ERs to the Astrodome Canvass to provide help to our people in both the Namfrel and Comelec count. We will be back to active duty in guarding the counts beginning tomorrow. These bastards don’t know when to quit!

It the cheats can do it here under the watchful eyes of media and the now more vigilant voters, I wonder how our colleagues in the provinces are doing their guarding against dagdag-bawas operators aided by the military and police?

Vigilance, patience, patriotism and prayers are what’s getting us through this hell. We’ve already worked very hard we’re not giving it away again!

See you at the Astrodome, Our Lady of Sorrows Church, and PICC.

  26. TT,

Ako nga nadali na ng painful hips. Hindi kasi ako nakaupo for two days noong bilangan. Tapal agad ng salonpas.

I supervised our pollwatchers here. Tapos comparing data and tally sheets.

Good luck kay Peewee!

I want a chess end-game with the powerful Queen is trapped with Knight and pawn combination. In real politics, the knights represent military generals while pawns are ordinary citizen-soldiers. The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has a constitutional mandate as protector of the people and the State. Stealing the true mandate is against the interest of the Filipino people. Rogue military/police generals does not represent the entire AFP. I know there are principled officers and gentlemen in the AFP who will take with people during critical times. Only time can tell.

The people have spoken but it has fallen on deaf ears. Instead of graciously conceding defeat, Gloria has dug in her heels and is trying to cheat her way out of an embarassing situation. The consensus seems to be growing: she won’t leave Malacanang on her own accord, we would have to drag her out screaming and arms flailing.

  32. I’m not surprised, Skip, dating gawin na ni Pandak iyan. But enough is enough, hindi na dapat pang pagbigyan ang ungas na iyan. Hindi na tayo ang susupil diyan. Huwag ka lang mainip diyan. Sabi nga what we need right now is perseverance in prayer! For some reason nahihirapan si Abaloslos na alisin si Trillanes. Something dreadful will happen to them no doubt kapag hindi pa sila tumigil. I just leave it to Heaven, sabi nga.

    ystakei,

I’m worried about this inquirer article:

    May. 20, 2007 07:56:00
Trillanes slides out of top 12 in latest Namfrel tally
Genuine Opposition candidate Antonio Trillanes is back in 13th place in the latest tally of the National Movement of Free Elections (Namfrel), which covers 83,921 precincts or 37.34 percent in total as of early Sunday morning.

Trillanes, who has 3,260,065 votes, was overtaken by his GO colleague Aquilino Pimentel III who has 3,271,252 votes.

Both Trillanes and Pimentel have been vying for the 12th position in the last three days of Namfrel tallies.

Team Unity candidate Juan Miguel Zubiri, who placed 13th in previous tallies, is now enjoying a stable rank of 11th place in the recent tally with 3,311,867 votes.

  36. No Skip, huwag kang mawalan ng pag-asa.

Enough is enough. Pwe! I’m not impressed!

    ystakei,

Don’t forget to bring the rotten eggs. I will be monitoring the news 🙂

Good luck and may you guys successfully deliver the message across!

I got news from my uncle, Tito Boy Aparri, retired Navy Commodore and YesArms spokesman. Siya rin pala ang spokesman ng Bantay Boto, composed of retired and active AFP/PNP Generals and other officers who are now guarding the cheating operators in Visayas and Mindanao. He said ONE MILLION VOTES have been prepared by Malacañang agents under OPLAN MERCURY RISING. The SOVs and COCs hve been distributed and will all reach the Canvassing boards in the next few days. I guess this is the reason many BOCs have stopped counting today.

In Muntinlupa, for example, 2 of the 3 Canvass Board Members were “hospitalized”. This, after the opposition trio of re-electionist congressman Ruffy Biazon, ex-Vice Mayor now running for Mayor Aldrin San Pedro, and Alan’s bro Renren Cayetano who is seeking the Vice-Mayoral post overtook the early leaders Dong Puno, Loretta Fresnedi, and the other guy running for Vice-Mayor. The ballot boxes containing the ERs are tightly-guarded by both camps even when there was no counting conducted today as the 2 Board Members allegedly suffered high blood pressure. Such flimsy excuse to stop the counting makes it even more suspicious now that the admin candidates have slid below their GO opponents.

Ang daming lokohan! Naghahanap ng pagkakataong mandaya! I won’t be surprised if Ronnie Puno uses his police to salvage his brother’s post in Muntinlupa.

In Biñan, Laguna, Mayoral candidate Alonte, Abalos’ daughter-in-law is still maintaining her slim lead over Yatco. But as the ERs from Yatco’s bailiwicks start pouring in, the Comelec puts the canvass on hold! The canvass has been suspended since yesterday and according to our lawyers, “failure of elections” can only be declared if voting was not conducted or impossible to conduct for reasons of security or otherwise. The elections is already in the canvassing stage and any order to stop the canvass because of “failure of elections” is illegal.

The Pasay canvass is likewise snail-paced, what with the TUTA lawyers questioning all trivial issues, even ballpen color is now subject to debate. I have still to return to Astrodome for my watching shift but the guy who borrowed my bullet-proof vest hasn’t returned it yet.

All counting stoppages/slowdowns are now widespread in all regions. Bantay Boto, PPCRV, Namfrel, Lente and the opposition watchers/lawyers are very very tired from a full week of non-stop vigil and the crooks from Malacañang are waiting for that precise moment when everybody is looking the other way for them to switch the votes. It has become every expensive to maintain so many lawyers and watchers the cheats probably think prolonging the count would work to their advantage.

But no, we will be there every step of the way, we won’t give an inch for these scoundrels to achieve another rip-off. Not this time.

    Tongue in, anew!

    Tongue ina nila talaga.

Your bit about Mercury Rising sends shivers down my spine. It has become this brazen, hasn’t it?

    Hanep.

  41. parasabayan parasabayan

Tongue, I wish you are cloned a million times! I love your vigilance. You are amazing! People like you make us so proud and give us hope for some positive outcome! Your efforts will pay off big time!

  42. TonGuE-tWisTeD TonGuE-tWisTeD

    Skip,
Mercury Rising is as real as you and me. Their only problem is how to get Trillanes and Honasan out of the way. The cheating generals cannot delegate the duty to junior officers who are rooting for both Trillanes and Honasan and any direct order towards that direction may spark an uprising. Spy has it in another thread that the orders have been given to ISAFP – probably the most corrupt unit in the AFP.

The “guarding” generals (Bantay Boto) on the other hand, are being fed info by foot soldiers themselves on the situation on the ground. That could explain the very slow canvass in Mindanao. The cheats already know that even their guards are watching them.

They were successful in Maguidanao because they transferred the tabulation of votes to the Capitol instead of the schools. There, they are out of sight of the opposition watchers and those of NAMFREL as well. No problem in switching ballots there, Lintang Bedol and Rey Sumalipao’s boys can do it on their own without the help of soldiers.

    Truly brazen!

  43. TonGuE-tWisTeD TonGuE-tWisTeD

    Parasabayan,
Thanks. But I have asked myself several times already, what am I doing here? Is it worth the effort? The risks? But everytime I hear reports of massive cheating about to happen, I stop the internal debate, I just shake my head and go back to kicking cheating asses.

I’m also positive that whatever the results are this time, we, that includes you and all of us here in the blogs, helped raise awareness, encouraged vigilance, made it doubly difficult for massive cheating to happen and upped the level of politics one notch higher.

If that’s not a mean feat which we have achieved as a team, what’s stopping us to go all the way and make this country work?

For our children, and our children’s children!

    P.S.

About the million clones, never mind, I wouldn’t want to catch anyone of them pretending to be me, sipping my coffee, playing with my kids, and sleeping with my wife.

  44. parasabayan parasabayan

Tongue, if there such a thing as a selective clone, let us do that so the rest of what you do can not be duplicated by someone else. Heh,heh, heh…

Yes, we are doing what we do for our next generation. It will not be for us anymore. I can not see an immediate change with all our efforts. But I am hopeful that with the little positive developments like: the youth are getting involved, more concerned groups are watching the cheaters’ moves and our military is finally waking up! It is sad though that a few of these young people were killed and abducted by the same people who are calling themselves “leaders”.

We still have to do something about the voting system in the South, the so called “command votes”. To me they are called “cushion votes” because they will be used to unseat the last three duly elected senators. Can you see Zubiri, Recto and Defensor poised to be in the last three slots? The differences of their tallied votes are paper thin. The Maguindanao votes are not even being counted yet because the cheats are waiting for the Namfrel and Comelec canvassing to be nearing the end of the counting. Then these cheats can approximate how much more votes they can produce to simply outvote the last three senators. I am hoping that the group of people who are fighting to make the Maguindanao( and all the other Mindanao provinces) votes null and void will be successful. This is downright dirty! We need to pray and be watchful.
