A Makati court hearing the multimillion peso class action suit filed by a group of journalists against First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo yesterday ordered the plaintiffs to appear before the court and submit a manifestation on whether they intend to pursue their case or not.
“The plaintiffs in this case are directed to submit a written manifestation as to whether they intend or not, indeed all of them are inclined to pursue this case,” said the order signed by Makati regional trial court branch 143 Judge Zenaida Galapate-Laguilles. This is our statement which we will file in court today:
Following Miguel Arroyo’s announcement that he intends to withdraw all the libel suits he brought against journalists (40 or so in all), the question has been raised whether we might respond by withdrawing our own class suit against him.
As it happens, this is not a case of such humanitarian challenge as the question seems to suggest. Mr. Arroyo, no doubt, deserves every sympathy after his heart surgery but, however serious his condition may be, it does not excuse him from misrepresenting his place in the way he has done: his is not to dispense generosity (his own word) to the journalists, but to ask them for it.
Apparently, Mr. Arroyo has had a dubious epiphany. Instead of realizing, as might have been the case in a true chastening, that he has filed whimsical, malicious, wholesale suits, and apologizing, he presents himself as in fact the one wronged and offers yet to forgive.
That is adding insult to injury, and it serves only to strengthen our intention to proceed with our suit for damages in behalf of our profession.

The 43 journalists I believe are not yet off the hook. The husband and wife team are good at flip-flopping and the so-called “pardon” being offered by the heavy creep is nothing but an election gimmick to win votes for the TUtas. Wait till after the election and we might see the Fatso as arrogant as ever, renewing his threats and being as vicious as ever. Point is who will dare send him, his darling and their cahoots to prison? Ang tindi! 🙁
FG’s dropping of the suits against journalists is not a surrender but a strategy of withdrawal. He knows he will lose fighting a two-front battle (health and suits). He has to win first the important one and pursue the other in the future.
Mao said ”Pursue when the enemy withdraws.” The enemy is FG.
No let up until justice is served then we can start talking about reconcilation.
It is just right that the case is pursued to the very end notwithstanding Mike Arroyo’s announcement to withdraw the case against the more than 40 journalists. As we are aware, some of these journalists filed a class suit against Mike Arroyo and should they backed out, the class suit might not prosper anymore.
Para pa talagang nanggagago. Imagine, Mike Arroyo would like to appear that he was the one wronged instead of the other way around!?
While Mike Arroyo’s silence in the current election’s imbrioglio, it is not farfetched that he is still in the command post in the ongoing machinations to thwart the people’s will in so far as the senatorial race is concerned, specifically against Alan Cayetano. Now, he should contend with two legal battles with the courageous journalists, the one he filed at itutuloy pa rin and the class suit filed against him na walang urungan.

By all means, proceed. It is for the court to decide now, who is on the right side of the law…
When Mike Arroyo made the announcement to withdraw the charges against the journalist, we recall what his Attorney told the media:
“Tingnan mo naman talagang sobrang bait niyang si First Gentleman. Wala nang babait pa sa kanyang hangaring huwag nang ituloy ang demanda sa mga peryodista. Walang halong pulitika yan dahil talagang ganyan ang kanyang katauhan, huwaran sa bait.”
Which the pundits retort, mabait kung tulog dahil epekto pa ng anesthesia!
Dapat lang na ituloy ng mga journalists ang kanilang kaso laban kay Mike Pidal Arroyo dahil ito ay laban para sa ‘Freedom of Expression’. Ang resulta nito ay magiging precedent sa mga future cases. Importanteng ipaglaban natin ang ating Kalayaan lalo na sa mga kuko ng mga abusadong halimaw na mga iyan!
This is Assperon’s prerogative, to break the law to please his mistress. It is very obvious that he does not have a case against these officers but he wants to keep them in detention because the elections were to proceed according to their massive plan of cheating again! Remember that the root cause of these officers incarceration was the 2004 election cheating. The same areas are now in question again in the supposed cheating operations in this May elections. These officers stood up for what was right and now they are incarcerated! The documents that the lawyers of the accused had been demanding from the appointed panel were the same documents demanded all throughout all the hearings. But to keep these officers in detention, Assperon’s dogs have to issue these documents piece meal. It will not surprise me at all if the next hearings will be this way all throughout until Assperon leaves his post or even beyond as long as the tiyanak stays in her stolen position. Assperon knows that he is doing gravely wrong to these soldiers. I will not also be surprised if by now, this Hitler like bodyguard Assperon has secured his future by purchasing real estate properties in countries like Australia, the US or even Europe to make sure that he can readily ship out of the country once the tide turns. He is low life bodyguard and I certainly agree that he can not even hold the lowest position in the military under an equitable rule! But what can we expect from a Cheat of Staff who knows nothing but follow the orders of a bigger cheat than him, none other that a bogus President, tiyanak!
The saddest truth to all these are the suffering and sacrifices of the families of these incarcerated officers. Some of the children are just infants and toddlers. Some of these families are living in far away provinces and because of the extra burden of lawyer’s fees, it is simply impossible to pay for the fare to visit the incarcerated husband/parent. I heard that some schooling members of the families simply could not afford to pay for the matriculation and have to stop going to school for now.
While the Cheat of Staff and his dogs are enjoying the cognac and the caviar and having a huge chunk of the billions of pesos earmarked for military modernization, the officers who simply have the citizens’ welfare at heart are languishing in their detention cells. The only good thing that I can see in all these is, at least the people know who the good and the evil leaders are. Right now, the evil reigns, who knows what tomorrow brings!
I meant the above post to have been written under the “court martial of the officers…”.

Dapat lang ipagpatuloy. Ano, porke nag”forgive” na kuno si FG, tapos na lahat? For all we know, talagang strategy lang yan ng mag=asawa.
His state of health is not a basis for consideration here. Kung baga, kasalanan niya rin kung bakit siya nagkasakit, bakit ngayon, iasa sa mga nadehadong journalist na tapusin ang kaso. Tuloy ang laban, at nang matikman na rin ng mag-asawang hayok sa kapangyarihan na hindi lahat na tao, hindi lahat ng oras, kaya nilang bilhin (ng pera ng bayan)!
I do not trust this duo (tiyanak and Fatso)! The only reason why the Fatso is withdrawing from the case is because of his health. Isang bulate na lang ang hindi pa nakapirma sa death certificate niya. He has a very fragile health. Maybe this is God’s way of making him realize the wrong doings he had. He made him live to maybe make amends (I doubt so!) for all the wrong things he had done. Ito ang karma rin ni tiyanak. God must have told him to shape or else…
For all purposes of justice, the law suits should proceed!

For the devil-duo (Blinky Tiyanak and Oinky IpDye), telling the truth is a crime. Now comes the word compassion blurting out of their mouths. I am surprised hearing such remarks from them.
I am with most of the bloggers in Ellenville that the law suits should proceed and Oinky Ipdye suffer the consequence of the act he has started.
hindi lang personal na kabutihan ng mga journalists ang nakasalalay dito, kundi ilang mga katanungan na may kinalaman sa karapatang sibil (civil rights), at lalo na ang sa malayang pamamahayag (freedom of the press).
mas malawak ang usapin kumpara sa kalusugan ni Ip Dyi at ito’y nangangailangan ng kasagutan at paglilinaw.
malaking tulong ang maidudulot ng mga namamahayag (concerned journalists) sa pagpapayabong ng debate at hangaring malapatan ng solusyon ang mga isyung may kinalaman sa pundasyon ng isang buhay at malayang demokrasya, kung ipupursige nila ang kaso hanggang konklusyon.

By all means, dapat ituloy! Walang kasalanan ang mga journalists! Ang dapat parusahan ay ang mga sinungaling at mga arroganteng katulad niya at ang kanyang asawa! Kailan pa ba naging kasalanan ang pagsasabi ng katotohanan? Siguro nga, sa panahon lang ng mga PIDAL!
