Malacañang is hoping that more Team Unity senatorial candidates will make the winner’s circle after Rep. Juan Miguel Zubiri took the No. 12 slot in the latest Commission on Elections count.

Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita said they are hoping that re-electionist Sen. Ralph Recto, who is in the 13th slot, would still make it as the votes from the South start to pour in.

“Kahit papano madami tayong mga allies diyan sa may Mindanao na mga congressman at local government leaders at marami rin namang suporta ang administrasyon sa Mindanao kaya we are hoping,” he said.

Ermita denied knowledge of the pronouncement of Bohol Gov. Erico Aumentado that the five towns in his province which delivered 12-0 in favor of TU would get P2 million worth of projects while the five other towns that delivered 11-0 votes in favor of TU would each get P100,000 worth of projects.

The 12 TU candidates swept the elections in Buenavista, Valencia, Danao, Dagohoy and Getafe.

The towns that gave an 11-0 victory for TU are Balilihan, Antequera, Sagbayan, Lila and Sierra Bullones.

Aumentado said he is just waiting for the release of the funds from Malacañang. He added that President Arroyo had sent her thanks to the 10 towns for their support.

Ermita said he is not sure if the funds would come from the national government but he added Aumentado must have some form of resources to make such a promise and eventually finance it.

“Ang mga local leaders naman ay madaming stratehiya at baka may resources sila na mapag-kukunan kung nangako sila ng ganyan,” he said.

Team Unity spokesman Joseph Durano said he is not aware of Aumentado’s pronouncements but if such were made he does not believe that it constitutes vote buying.

“If these are projects given to local government units, it is quite a stretch for it to fall under vote buying,” he said.

Durano said TU considers the outcome of the senatorial race in Cebu, a bailiwick of President Arroyo, as a TU victory after it resulted in a 7-4-1 vote in favor of the administration candidates.

Durano said the top 8 slots, except for one that went to independent candidate Francis Pangilinan, went to TU.

“Twelve-zero is always just a best effort. The result in Cebu, however, is a clear victory for Team Unity,” he said.

Team Unity media director and Eastern Samar Gov. Ben Evardone expressed confidence that the remaining votes especially from Lanao del Sur, are enough to dislodge three GO candidates in the Magic 12 in favor of Recto, Michael Defensor and Rep. Prospero Pichay, who are at the 13th, 15th and 16th slots, in the Comelec tally.

Evardone based his “reasonable expectations” to the “statistical fluidity” for Team Unity in the national canvassing votes.

“This can change dramatically the current senatorial rankings and send at least six TU bets into the Comelec’s Magic 12,” he said.

He said Edward Go, chair of the National Movement for Free Elections, has noticed the statistical fluidity of the current count and the possibility that the 16th placer could still make the final list.

“The GO is just about to exhaust its bailiwicks. The TU, in contrast, has several provincial votes to bank on. And these big votes for the administration will dramatically change the rankings,” he said.

As of yesterday GO’s Loren Legarda, Francis Escudero, Manuel Villar, Panfilo Lacson, Benigno Aquino III, Alan Peter Cayetano and Antonio Trillanes IV were still in the Magic 12 along with independents Francis Pangilinan and Gregorio Honasan.

The only TU candidates in the Magic 12 are Edgardo Angara, Joker Arroyo and Zubiri.

Election watchdog Kontra Daya warned that the inclusion in the national canvassing of votes from Maguindanao and other provinces where there were reports of cheating will result in more protest actions against the Comelec.

“The uncounted election returns and the highly improbable zero turn-out for the opposition are the surest signs of election irregularities in the area,” Kontra Daya convener Fr. Joe Dizon said in a statement.

“In the face of this glaring proof, canvassing of these votes will only demolish the credibility of the elections,” he added.

Dizon said his group expressed doubts on the assessment of Commissioner Rene Sarmiento, Comelec officer-in-charge in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, that the special elections in Lanao were generally peaceful.

“Commissioner Sarmiento’s assessment is too generous. Is he basing his report on what the military and police are saying or on what the Lanao people are experiencing?” Dizon said. – Jocelyn Montemayor, Wendell Vigilia and Reinir Padua

The deliberate stalling tactic to delay the proclamation winning senatorial candidates is a reminiscent of 2004 fraudulent presidential election. Malacanang and elections chief manipulator Benjamin Abalos are cooking the DEVIL’S RECIPE-electoral fraud. There’s strong proof that systematic cheating in Maguindanao, Lanao and Sulu in favor of Gloria’s TUTA and yet Comelec chief Abalos have no enthusiasm to investigate alleged election irregularities. The presence of ex-generals Lomibao and Palparan and election operators in Lanao Del Sur special elections may have something to do with devil’s recipe. Malacanang is determined the entry of additional 3 TU bets in the magic 12 by hook and by crook. Gloria Arroyo’s bogus presidency is a by-product of massive cheating in Mindanao.

let us all god fearing and honest filipinos wake up!! this is insane!! this people led by bogus and evil GMA,FG and all their evil minions must be ousted and jailed, for all their crimes and mess they had done to our country!! let us all now prepare to oust GMA by all means!! God bless the Philippines!!

  3. Chabeli Chabeli

Let us really brace ourselves. This is the last lap to the finish & every dirty trick in the book will be used ! What I heard is that many phone calls were already being made to COMELEC officials over the weekend by certain candidates wanting to be in Magic 12. This the most important time to be VIGILANT. If we blink, its game over.

  4. Chabeli Chabeli

Looking back in 2004, I am more convinced than ever that Gloria had to be proclaimed “President” (bogus lang nga) at pass 3 in the morning to avoid any backlash – unless JdV wanted to beam the proclamation to our OFWs in the world, it just did not make sense why the proclamation had to be at an ungodly hour.

Maybe that is what COMELEC will do – proclaim the top 9 Senators in broad daylight & then proclaim the remaining 3 Senators (Zubiri, Recto & Pichay) at the wee hours of the morning para walang aalma ! They won’t be successful this time.

  6. Etnad Etnad

  7. Gosh, she’s really mad at Gloria huh! I mean Jamby is…Good on her too!

  8. Grrrrrr…..”Malacañang is hoping that more Team Unity senatorial candidates will make the winner’s circle after Rep. Juan Miguel Zubiri took the No. 12 slot in the latest Commission on Elections count.”

I really am getting so frustrated about this yoyo elections.

  9. Ellen,

“The only TU candidates in the Magic 12 are Edgardo Angara, Joker Arroyo and Zubiri. ”

    That’s 3 too many!

  10. Just read this very saddening bit of electionana in the Philippines:

“Lack of an adequate venue and of tables, chairs and blackboards hampered the start of the count of some 90,000 votes cast in 12 towns during the first day of special elections on Saturday.

Soldiers in full-battle gear backed by armored personnel carriers also guarded the tabulation centers at the Provincial Capitol, the Marawi City National High School and at the People’s Park, all in the downtown areas of the Islamic city.”

This kind of practice is incredibly backward, elections in AFghanistan were so much more orderly and peaceful than this!

How can we even begin to say that this part of the country is democratic?

No wonder when I told my oldest son that Sabah should be given back by Malaysia to be annexed to Mindanao by moral and legal right, he said, that won’t be doing Filipinos in Sabah a favor… besides why would you like Sabah to be back in the primitive ages like many places in Mindanao? (I’ve brought him to Mindanao a couple of times, and even went to the heart of Basilan in 1994; we’ve also been to Sabah a few times when we lived in Malaysia.)

  11. Elvira Sahara Elvira Sahara

With the “Bulag, at Bingi” attitude of Komolec now, there’s no other option but to brace ourselves for the coming DILUBYO! Knowing how election is conducted in Mindanao, expect only for the worst to come!
Di ba earlier, I read a headline

  12. Elvira Sahara Elvira Sahara

(Opps, nadulas ang finger ko!)Like you Anna, am already very impatient waiting for the result of special election canvassing in Lanao!
I read a headline which said, “Di perfect, pero PEACEFUL” ang special election doon! HAAAY…LIARS! LIARS! LIARS! They are LIARS… none other than the KOMOLECS!!! GABAAN TANI KAMO!

  13. luzviminda luzviminda

Pihadong magiging hit yun.

  15. chi chi

Thank you Jamby. Trillanes needs his votes protected by his supporters kasi nakakulong siya! Hindi magtatagumpay sila sa pandaraya this time, the people are already mulat ang mata except those nabayaran na at binabayaran pa ni Blinky Tianak.

Ungas! (pahiram Yuko)

  16. chi chi

  17. chi chi

Green with envy si Blinky Glue!

  18. chi chi

    “Di perfect, pero PEACEFUL”

    Elvie,

Peaceful talaga!

  19. Elvira Sahara Elvira Sahara

    Chi,
Patay kon patay!

  20. kitamokitako kitamokitako

(I already forgot)

Tandang Ermita said with almost certainty that Kuya Vi will still land in the magic 12!

Di ba namatay si Barbers after that?

I think there should be one more subject in schools that needs top most priority and attention: Basic Arithmetic. It seems that quite a lot of personalities involve in counting and tallying the votes from the last election can not figure out how to do the proper addition and subtraction of numbers. Almost 2 weeks now, and the job is not done yet. Or they just too smart, they were able to defy the basic principles of Mathematics? I was thinking all along that Math is an exact science….

  24. chi chi

    Vic,

It might be that onli in da pilipins that math is not an exact science!

  25. Anna: That’s 3 too many!
    *****

Sinabi mo pa, Anna. Point now is what the majority of Filipinos are willing to do to protect their votes, and stop the crooks at the Comelec from including those questionable votes from Maguindanao, etc. where voters were not even able to vote right?

It is not enough that these questions are brought to the Supreme Court dominated by political appointees of the criminal squatting at the palace by the murky river, and would therefore do as she commands to maintain their exalted positions. Something more drastic than so-called “people’s power” that was even part of a US covert operation is apparently what is needed.

Time to be more bolden to tell the criminal and her accomplices they have to go! Filipinos should not only demand for their resignation. They should send these crooks to hell!

  26. Chi: Subukan pamo para mabalo!

    *******

Handa na nga ang press release namin just in case tanggalin nila si Trillanes whose candidacy even the Japanese now are watching with interest. He’s the hero that even people here must be missing in over half a century.

Hindi naman habang panahon uto-uto ang mga pilipino as shown by the majority who voted against the TUtas. Kahit nga sa OAV overseas, panalo ang GO. The trend is 8-1-3 or 8-2-2 or 9-1-2, and cannot be anything else.

  27. Some weeks ago commentators were of the opinio that there would not be an election but a revolution. Wellm so far they got the first part right because there has been NO CREDIBLE election. There’s no surprise that this half-baked schizoglo parades herself in Japan, New Zealand and Australia being openly critical of her extra judicial killing record with demonstrations in these places – knowing full well that Abalos will deliver what she wants by hook-or-by-crook (emphasis on the crook!).
If she gambles on a revolution to stop her stealing and unlawful acts against the people – maybe she should get one.

  28. luzviminda luzviminda

Kung baga ‘don’t rock the rocking and sinking boat’! May the ‘best cheater wins’ na lang daw!

  29. As reported in the Tribune today “After an international observers mission had observed, based on field evidence in its hands, that the elections have been absolutely chaotic and that the mission has reason to doubt whether the Philippines can be categorized as a democratic state, US Assistant Secretary of State Christopher Hill for East Asia and Pacific Affairs, here on official visit, issues a statement that democracy in the Philippines has already matured.”
What Christopher Hill conveniently forgot to say was that the Americans only support democracy within America, there are many examples of this.
If the filipino are satisfied with the ‘Abolos Elections’ then let them live with it – If not, then they better do something about this present dictator Shcizoglo, because what she wants is what she gets even if she can’t win an election fairly she will steal it from the people – lets be absolutely frank about this, things will get worse for the filipino not better because schizoglo has no priciples what-so-ever. If she did have priniples she would be like any normal wife and look after her sick husband instead of adding to his problems.
The sixtyfour dollar question is, how long will the filipino allow schizoglo to dictate their lives without erupting into an uncontrolable rage – not much longer is my guess.
As any OFW what their adopted countries think of the trust and honesty thats afforded to the filipino character – are you surprised of the disgrace this Schizoglo has heaped upon the filipino, you shouldn’t be!

  30. luzviminda luzviminda

    Chi,

  31. Kailangan may mga GO supporters pirmi doon sa PICC and everybody there should demand for those votes in questionable areas to be considered as null and void. Kung puro katarantaduhan iyong mga lugar in question, then so be it, wala silang boto! Period!

  33. Jadenlou Jadenlou

Yan ang nangyayari sa bansang Pilipinas. Almost anything these crooks always get away with their crimes to the Filipino people.

  34. Sa totoo lang, Jadenlou, I don’t even remember the grandfather of this creep really doing anything good for Filipinos. Magaling lang mag-ingay sa Senate noong araw. Puro oppose lang. Accomplishment? I doubt!

Yikes!

  36. xanadu xanadu

I am intrigued with the repeated parroting by Mrs. Arroyo and COMELEC officials in describing the recent elections to be peaceful and orderly. Sarah Soliven of Philippine Star was similarly intrigued that’s why in her column, she’s asking if somebody could give her the meaning of peaceful. Although I know its meaning from elementary, I look for it in our seldom used dictionary to realize that PEACEFUL also means NOT AT WAR. Kaya pala kahit there were rampant voters disenfranchisement, ballot box snatching, vote buying, all kinds of cheating, burning, grenade throwing and killings, this administration seened to be unfazed with the situation because they know that by saying peaceful, it means the Philippines is at not war at the moment. At totoo naman kasi, we are not at war with any of our neighboring countries like Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia. Thailand, Taiwan and Vietnam over Spratly Island. And so, Mrs. Gloria Arroyo and her Malacanang chorus boys wanted us to know that even there are 140 election related deaths, it’s still peaceful. .

And what about orderly election? We find it in the same dictionary that ORDERLY means: FOLLOWING THE ESTABLISHED METHOD. And what is the established method being followed by this adminsitration in order to win in the elections? The answer, as well all know, is CHEATING.

Ano sila baliw? The Malacanang robbers and thieves should read the reports of the foreign observers who can refute their hallucination that this midterm election is clean and peaceful.

It’s not surprising that Kuya Vi is so used to faking his votes. He learned everything about cheating from the Recto University in Morayta!

guys, please go to the previous thread, i posted a news item here of what happened to pandak doing the hongi (maori traditional greeting). hindi yata gumawa ng homework, pumalpak.

ininsulto ang maori custom and tradition. sabagay, akala siguro pwede siyang makalusot uli. kaso, may mga pinoy pa rin dito na hindi sipsip sa kanya…so alam ang kanyang baho. hay naku, kakasukang babaeng ito.

  41. I have been trying to get into this blog since lunchtime. Ngayon lang ako nakalusot.

I was going to report on the suicide attempt of the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry of Japan. He was confirmed dead on arrival at the hospital thirty minutes ago. He was involved in a scandal over political funds. This may have adverse effect on the standinf of the Abe administration. This is definitely going to be damaging to the LDP Party and the Abe government.

In the Philippines, nobody has been sent to jail as yet regarding for example the squandering of OWWA funds, etc. in the 2004 election, and also in this mid-term election.

Frankly speaking, I am looking forward to the day when the short woman and her accomplices will commit mass suicide for crimes they have been committing brazenly against the Filipino people. No mincing of words here, mind you!

  42. Contrary to expectations that results of elections in Shariff Kabunsuan province would be 12-0 in favor of TU just like in Maguindanao, the figures from Datu Odin Municipality showed 6-5-1 in favor of TU.

    1. Angara (TU)- 12,663
    2. Zubiri (TU)- 11,621
    3. Arroyo TU) – 10,734
    4. Escudero (GO)- 9,884
    5. Legarda (GO) – 9,522
    6. Pichay (TU) – 9,468
    7. Recto (TU) – 9,420
    8. Defensor (TU)- 9,419
    9. Trillanes (GO)-8,508
    10.Lacson (GO) -7,998
    11.Honasan(IND) -7,889
    12.Aquino (GO) -7,022
    13.Pangilinan (IND)-6,063
    14.Cayetano (GO) -5,965
    15. Pimentel (GO)-5,939
    16. Villar (GO) – 5,716

But then, we have to always bear in mind that there was no election in Maguindanao.

  43. Wow ha, masaya sila! But who are they kidding? The trend in fact is 8-1-3, 8-2-2 or 9-1-2 in favor of the GO. Hindi puedeng mahocus-pocus iyan lalo na kung iisipin natin na karamihan sa mga taga-Mindanao ay wala na sa Mindanao at nasa Luzon now where the GO is sure to win huwag lang dayain ni Palparan, et al at ang Maguindanao vote in fact is BOKYA since votes by cats cannot be considered votes by humans!

Everybody knows that this mid-term election is no Mindanao vote, but a referendum against the Pandak and her cohorts.

Kawawang bansa, saddled with crooks! Huhuhuhuhu! Kakaiyak!

You bet Trillanes is strong on Mindanao because he’s the only one with the know how and balls to sort out leaders of the AFP and get disipline & pride back within the AFP ranks.

  46. As already reported, Schizoglo is having a hard time with the many adverse comments during her visit to New Zealand; and more to come on her visit Australia. She’s a disdrace to the Philippines and the filipino – she is onion skinned get rid of her = Enough is Enough

  47. Chi,

I just talked to a friend of mine in Bataan. Doon daw sa lugar nila purung-purong GO.

CONCEDE! Golly, sayang na lang ang experience ko sa Tokyo police as a police interpreter helping in investigations of difficult cases. Neknek ninyo!
