SC orders DOJ to withdraw case versus Batasan 6

Gloria Arroyo’a administration slapped again by the Supreme Court.

Today, the High Court ordered the Department of Justice (DoJ) to dismiss the rebellion case against six militant lawmakers and their co-accused for lack of sufficient evidence.

The partylist legislators are Bayan Muna Representatives Satur Ocampo, Teodoro Casiño, Joel Virador; Anakpawis Representatives Rafael Mariano and Crispin Beltran; and Gabriela Representative Liza Maza.

Supreme Court Justice Antonio Carpio even reprimanded Raul Gonzalez’ DOJ. He said, “We cannot emphasize too strongly that prosecutors should not allow, and should avoid giving the impression that their noble office is being used or prostituted, wittingly or unwittingly, for political ends, or their purposes alien to, or subversive of the basic and fundamental objective of observing the interest of justice evenhandedly, without fear or favor to any and all litigants alike, whether rich or poor, weak or strong, powerless or mighty.”

  1. The SC decision should be final and the idiot should not be allowed to question it nor tell those soldiers to continue tailing and not allowing them to move freely, and if anything happens to them from this time forward, the idiot/criminal calling herself president should be made answerable for it.

Now, let Congressmen Ocampo, Ka Bel, Lisa Maza, et al serve their country well since their parties won in this midterm election, too.

  2. BTW, what do they plan to do with the unconfirmed and abusive Secretary of Justice who is caught breaking the election code buying votes, etc.? He should be arrested and prosecuted for his crime, even for the loss of trust and confidence of the people in the Philippine justice system.

He and his boss, et al should all be held legally responsible for the crimes they have been committing against the people of the Republic of the Philippines.

Hindi dapat pinapalampas iyan. No better law or laws can be passed and approved if a criminal sits there approving laws that she thinks will serve her well. Enough is enough. PATALSIKIN NA, NOW NA!

nagsalita na naman ang malansang bunganga ni gonggongsales..hindi na naman kasi sya napapag-usapan kaya ayan na naman at umentra re the SC junking Ka Beltran’s being locked-up. hindi ko talaga maintindihan kung ano ang ginagawa ng ulyanin na ito ng 8 hours (or even less malamang) sa upuan nya sa upisina nya kuno. no dignity and prinsipyo accepting salary which is the money of the citizenry…PWE!!!!!

Gonzales said “who are they to say its political” They’re in denial but little by little they will be knocked down to size – its nice when a plan comes together hehe smile.
Good luck to Crispin Beltran and the Batasan 5.

Baka sabihin pa niya- don’t blame me and don’t blame him he is siraulo. Can you put a mentally deranged person-mentally incapacitated in jail?

This will be another slap on the face of Mrs. Arroyo.

There’s an email going the rounds in the internet urging OFWs to have their voice heard and warn the administration and the Comelec not to tamper with the results of the senatorial elections. It is calling all OFWs and the global Filipinos that should this administration continue fooling around with the will of the people, their members will not remit to the Philippines any money for 30 days.

It also says that the 30 days without remittance by OFWs to the Philippine will mean:

    1. Around a $1 billion lose of dollar earnings for the corrupt government of the Philippines.
    2. There’s no economic miracle by a miracle genius but it’s simply the money of the OFWs keeping the economy afloat.

It is also warning Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to:

    1. Stop going abroad with a hundred people in the entourage spending the OFWs money and instead spend it to alleviate poverty.
    2. Seriously address the extra-judicial killings and kidnappings instead of providing lip service.
    3. The people’s patient is now at the losing end and their continued muddling of the democratic process is inviting the masses to rise up and revolt.

  7. xanadu xanadu

Should say by an economics genius instead of a miracle genius.

  8. “GMA: Stop casting RP in bad light,” says a Malaya banner. Can she not put it in her head that the country cannot progress because of her, and that the present retrogression is all because of her, her husband, cahoots and their kabulastugan. Tama na! PATALSIKIN NA, NOW NA!

  9. Xanadu: 1. Stop going abroad with a hundred people in the entourage spending the OFWs money and instead spend it to alleviate poverty.

Patay! Kaya nawiwili ang ungas!

The court have spoken on the fate of batasan 6.Now, what the Arroyo’s insane chief of injustice can give to them who have been proven innocent? After spending the best part of Beltran’s life behind bars, wrongfully incarcerated for a crime he didn’t commit?

An apology, maybe or I am sorry! Well Gloria’s puppet the most common is that they always get sick especially the name is Gonzales followed by Sarmiento. But, the worst thing that could happen to Beltran is that he may be bill for the cost of board and lodging for the time he spent freeloading at the Enchanted Kingdom prison.

  13. alitaptap alitaptap

  15. TonGuE-tWisTeD TonGuE-tWisTeD

Nadali mo. By reason of insanity, no case against Siraulo Gonzales.

Pero di bale, darating yon after proclamation. Wait ka lang, pre.

  18. Diego K. Guerrero Diego K. Guerrero

Why the Supreme Court only reprimanded Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez for abuse of power? He should be punished for injustices committed against the progressive legislators. The Batasan 6 should file disbarment case against Raul Gonzalez and his partisan-prostituted public prosecutors. They must be expelled and have no business in the Department of Justice. Teach them a lesson A.S.A.P.!

  19. alitaptap alitaptap

I don’t think the SC runs on autopilot. Unless a citizen files a case of disbarment against DOJ, it will not do so on its own. BTW, Gonzales had been disbarred once before. Haven’t heard of any reinstatement of his license – but d’glue could not care less long as siRAULo is a dutiful asslikker.

  20. Tongue, the case of Lawrence san juan is rather complicated. he filed a plea bargain admitting conspiracy in the oakwood incident. But he is alone in that. Not even Gambala and Maestrocampo, who have folded and have apologized to GMA, admit there was conspiracy.

  27. Ako dismaya doon kina Gambala at Maestrocampo.

Iyan ang dapat na asikasuhing bagihin ng mga bagong senador para ang pulis ay hindi mapasailalim ng pakikialam ni Pandak na dapat nilang arestuhin for crimes committed against the Filipino people in connivance with her husband, whose confession on what they did to the Constitution to a journalist was good enough an evidence, at iyong mga kasabwat nilang pinaupo nila sa gobyerno nila.

  33. By law, there is no need for an impeachment to remove Gunggonzales as I understand that he has not been approved and confirmed yet as DOJ Secretary. Kung baga isa lang siyang acting secretary without a portfolio. Arestuhin na lang siya even just for the case of electioneering that he is guilty of at pinagmayabang pa.

  34. Yuko, Ganoon ba? “he has not been approved and confirmed yet as DOJ Secretary. ”

  35. Yup, Anna, hindi pa siya confirmed.

  36. Perhaps, it will do these idiots good to return to law school and learn the Criminal Procedure Law of the Philippines revised and made effective in 2000 that in principle makes all other rules and even perhaps cases served in prison null and void unless new evidences are presented to make an arrest valid and legal.

Best is for the new Senators to study the criminal procedure of more progressive countries like the US, UK or even Japan, and revise the Philippine Criminal Procedure Code that I myself find lacking or seems idiotic and full of loopholes for both the authorities concerned and the suspect to abuse and evade the law as when they mix up civil and criminal suits.

This kind of violation of the law by the DOJ secretary and prosecutors assigned to take these silly suits against the 6 Batasan lawmakers indeed make a mockery of the law. It is not the prerogative of a criminal calling herself president to be telling them to arrest and prosecute anyone she feels is a threat to her vain and silly ambitions.

Ang bobo naman! PATALSIKIN NA, NOW NA!

  37. “Si Trillanes ang kailangan!” Sinabi mo pa, Chi. Slogan namin para sa kaniya, “SAKIT NG PILIPINAS, SI TRILLANES ANG LUNAS!” I really like this guy kasi lumalaban kahit hindi malaya! At ang kasalanan niya? Ipagtanggol ang katarungan, kabutihan at katinuan!

Puede ba PATALSIKIN NA, NOW NA!

  39. the supreme court, despite its imperfection, is still the last bastion of democracy. with this recent pronouncement by the supreme court, the batasan six has been vindicated.

by the way ellen, i have a new blogsite at http://sikwati.wordpress.com

    hope you keep me connected.

  40. Anna, it’s not only Gonzales who is not confirmed by the Commission on Appointments among Gloria’s cabinet members and other appointees. Most of them are just “acting’ secretaries. I think Ebdane is also acting defense secretary.

They don’t want to go through the CA,so Gloria just re-appoints them.

Classic example is Hilario Davide who has been appointed “acting permanent representative to the UN” to avoid going to the CA for confirmation.

  41. Mahirap ang ginagawa ni Pandak not having these cabinet members go through the usual process of appointments. Para kang kumuha ng abogadong walang lisensiya. In short, peke kasi peke rin ang nag-appoint. Kriminal talaga ang utak! Puro fraud lang ang trabaho. Kadiri!

  42. Statement of Vic Ladlad:

    June 2, 2007

As one of the accused in the rebellion case filed by the Department of Justice, I feel relieved by the Supreme Court decision ordering the dismissal of the case. The decision underscores the gravity of human rights violations being committed by the Arroyo government in carrying out its plan to destroy the Left by the end of her term.

The SC decision however cannot but be temporary relief for me because of the standing arrest warrant against me and other activists on another fabricated case in Leyte for multiple murder. I was a political prisoner during the period that this supposed case took place.

But this fact is of no consequence to the Department of Justice which, under the aegis of the Inter-Agency Legal Action Group that also includes the AFP-PNP and National Security Adviser, intentionally subverts the integrity of the judicial process by manufacturing legal cases against the Left.

It was rather fortunate that we were able to bring our case to the Supreme Court and found temporary relief. But many more activists in the provinces have become victims of false charges filed by the AFP and PNP with the collaboration of state prosecutors.

The gravest injustice is that done to hundreds of leaders and members of progressive organizations who have become victims of extrajudicial killing and enforced disappearance. They include Jonas Burgos, Ma. Luisa Posa-Dominado, Rogelio Calubad and son Gabriel, Prudencio Calubid and Leo Velasco. The AFP and PNP did not even bother to bring these victims to a fiscal.

  43. Ellen,

Latest victim itong UCCP pastor sa Laguna. Any follow up on that case. Kawawa naman.

  44. Talagang bobo ang mga kumag. They will appeal daw for the decision of the Supreme Court. Golly, over in more progressive countries, when the Supreme Court makes its decision it is final and no appeal will be entertained. If there are new evidences, the case is considered new and the police and prosecutor will have to start from scratch. Over here, usually, as in the case of Satur Ocampo, the court just stops entertaining such notion because he was in fact serving his term at the time the said crime being filed against him now happened, and if he was able to really do such abominable crime while in incarceration some official would have to be answerable for it, since he was supposed to be strictly guarded and his activities in jail monitored.

Are these idiots ashamed of themselves for showing the world that they are being idiotic and utterly stupid because the 6 lawmakers they are accusing have actually become public figures in the Philippines but world renown for being victims of oppression and abuse by an oppressive government.

The SC should just junk their appeal, and tell them, “Scram! Just scratch your own galis!”

  45. … Are these idiots NOT ashamed of themselves….”

  46. Valdemar Valdemar

At 500,000 pesos per day of incarceration, Beltran would be so rich from the windfall of the anti-terrorism law.

  47. Iyong sinasabing mag-a-appeal ang mga ungas ay parang nanakot lang, at saka para hindi i-implement ang decision ng Supreme Court that is final and irrevocable. Bakit ba nagdudunung-dunungan ang mga bobo?

    PATALSIKIN NA, NOW NA!

  48. chi chi

    Yuko,

  50. Gago kasi Xanadu. You don’t appeal to the Supreme Court after it has given its verdict because it is FINAL. Tanga talaga ang bobo kaya siguro na-disbar. Now, it is the turn of the 6 Batasan lawmakers to sue this idiot and his cohorts for abuse of power, manhandling, illegal arrest and detention, mental torture, stress, etc.

Just to save his thick skinned face, he says they will appeal the SC decision. All they are going to get is another denial. SiRAULo should just go to his wife’s farm and take care of the chicken para may pakinabang pa sa kanya. As far as the justice system goes, inutil na siya.

  53. No less than through the Supreme Court Justice Antonio Carpio even reprimanded Raul Gonzalez’ DOJ.

He said,“We cannot emphasize too strongly that prosecutors should not allow, and should avoid giving the impression that their noble office is being used or prostituted, wittingly or unwittingly, for political ends, or their purposes alien to, or subversive of the basic and fundamental objective of observing the interest of justice evenhandedly, without fear or favor to any and all litigants alike, whether rich or poor, weak or strong, powerless or mighty.”

Any Leader of this country should immediately dismiss the dis-service of Raul Gonzalez’ DOJ for his various unlawful behaviour to the citizens of this country – but what makes it difficult for her is that she and her cabinet members are involved in the conspiracy!

It looks more and more that with this Supreme Court Justice ruling, this big mouth Raul Gonzalez is of little use to this lying cheating killing devil and her cabinet of liars. Given her first chance, she WILL dump him.

The big question for me is that why does the professionals such as lawyers put up with Raul Gonzalez’ undignafied and constant insulting behaviour. When, if ever will they confront him in their law chambers? As Raul Gonzalez is a public servant (albeit unconfirmed by the CA) the public are asking the question and are entitled to know!

  54. purple purple

Chi…no wonder the DOJ has never been crdible ever since impaktang pandak came to grab the admin and placed mediocre characters like gonggongzales who is a no-brainer. and no wonder that majority of the agencies are never without glitches and without system bec all the so-called appointees are with no brains themselves.
the thing is, these so-called govt agencies take consultants from their allocated funds just so to say that they have “working papers and working people”. What GAL!!!!!

  55. The Supreme Court has spoken, so no good these Lawyers around the country looking in that direction. The ball is now firmly in the Lawyers side of the court – what action are they intending to take against their own un-confirmed Raul Gonzalez?

  56. scorpio15 scorpio15

The government was “SADENED and APREHENSIVE” with the ruling of SC.

Bobo! Mahiya kayo sa pinaggagawa ninyo! Nabibisto ang abilidad niyo—WALA!

  58. dzandueta dzandueta

why does the professionals such as lawyers put up with Raul Gonzalez’ undignafied and constant insulting behaviour.

Probably out of respect for the position, not necessarily the person sitting there.

I wonder what’s happened to the following:

    http://gmanews.tv/story/40405/Criminal-disbarment-cases-filed-vs-DOJ-chief

Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez now faces criminal charges and a disbarment case over his recent statements about cash rewards for village chiefs and the death of US Peace Corps volunteer Julia Campbell.

Lawyer Ely Pamatong, meanwhile, lodged a disbarment complaint against Gonzalez before the Supreme Court over the justice chief’s “immoral statements” that Campbell was partly to blame for her death.
