SWS July 18-20, 2007 survey shows the depth of the Filipinos’ distrust of Gloria Arroyo
Net trust:
Joseph Estrada – plus 45 percent
Gloria Arroyo – minus 44 percent
Mike Arroyo – minus 64 per cent
Erap: Much Trust 64%, Undecided 16 %, Little Trust, 19%; Net Trust +45%
GMA: Much Trust 18%,Undecided 19%, Little Trust 62%; Net Trust -44 %
Mike Arroyo: Much Trust 8%, Undecided 18%, Little Trust 71%; Net Trust – 64%
It’s interesting to note that of those who have “Much Trust” on Estrada, 43 per cent come from the ABC group or the middle,upper middle, and top economic groups. It is these groups group that worked for the ouster of Estrada from the presidency in 2001.
Arroyo, who was put into power without election by the middle and the upper economic classes, enjoys only 28 per cent “much trust” from that group no.
The survey also shows that Estrada has continued to keep the trust of the poor. Among the D (poor) group, he enjoys 66 ‘much trust” and in the “E” or very poor, 68 per cent .
Arroyo, on the hand, has the “much trust” of the 19 per cent of thepoor and 10 per cent of the very poor.
It should be noted that majority of the Filipinos are classified as “poor”.
The survey had 600 respondents in the national Capital region, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal.
Other items in the surveys are interesting but it was given to me with “embargo” until the source releases it. I have to abide by that condition. I will just give more details to the released results of the survey.

The ABC result is very significant. It meant that Erap is vindicated. Salamat naman at 43% sa grupo nila ay nagising na mali ang pambabastos sa Saligang Batas ng Pilipinas.
So, ano ngayon ang kanilang binabalak na gawin, maghihintay hanggang kusang lumayas ang reyna ng EK?

In its web, The Daily Tribune reported that according to Serge Apostol, “Our President is not hurt by the series of low trust ratings she gets from different survey outfits..”
COMMENT: Really ? Then why the hell is she so paranoid ? I hear Malacañan is once again barricaded w/ container vans. Yeah right she’s not concerned !
Apostol further says that “Our President continues to focus on her job… while her critics concentrate on trying to destroy her name. She gets low trust ratings because she makes unpopular decisions (that are) good for the country.”
COMMENT: So an EO 464 to cover up the truth is good for the country ?? Or is it good for her & her alone ?
Apostol even says something very interesting, he says that “Even with these low trust ratings, it would not be enough tool to be used by her critics to topple her government. Our President would finish her term in 2010, even with the impending Sandiganbayan decision on the fate of the plunder case of (Estrada).”
COMMENT: Based on the SWS survey one can’t help but deduce that there is hatred towards Gloria. Does Apostol actually believe that this is not enough to kick her out of office ?! The guy is nuts !

Gloria was correct to say (in her recent SONA) that “A president is as strong as she wants to be.”

The SWS survey reflects the distress of Pinoys concerning GMA’s governance.
Ate Glue ordered state security forces to end “all armed rebellion” by Moro secessionist rebels, communist insurgents and terrorists before her term ends in 2010.
“I have specified a timeline–three years–to end armed rebellion in the Philippines,” she said, referring to the “three fronts” that her administration was currently engaged in.
It has been said before and I repeat it here for emphasis: the fastest way to end a war is to LOSE IT. Is this a self-fulfilling prophesy?
Ate Glue embarked on a peripatetic frenzy which smacks of childish guilt behavior of one trying to escape a pesky problem. “I have a country to run. I have terrorists to fight. I have a peace to win”; “I embrace work and leave just to the titans of hate to have a monopoly on the politics of destruction,” Ate Glue said, as she tries to shake off a scandal that has hounded her for two years. She slammed the “titans of hate” over their plan to reinvestigate the “Hello Garci” issue, and declared she would have no part in the “politics of destruction.” This egomaniacal raving is characteristic of a kook, not of a Chief of State, a behavior deeply disturbing to Filipinos who value dignity.
The barricade of container vans around the Palace affirms her siege mood (Bastille?), as she continues to face the specter of political unrest which stems from three converging events, the expected conviction of detained President Joseph Estrada, the aroused CPP/NPA following Joma Sison’s arrest by Dutch police, and the Basilan/Sulu hostilities that she ordered. The ploy of increased combat pay and boodle fight did not preclude the demonstration of displeasure by the Basilan Marines (a modified “boo” by declining to eat with her.)
The preceding posts give too much credit to Sergio Apostol the current mouthpiece and spin doctor of Ate Glue by implying he has an IQ above 50. Psychiatric disorder medicine defined those with IQ of 40-50 as imbeciles, 30-40 as morons, and idiots at about 25. (No definition for IQs below 25, but I would suggest miriam)

The Trillanes and Magdalo movement focused on corruption in the military, not general graft in the bureaucracy. Loathing of Ate Glue grew only after the Hello Garci uproar and subsequent I-am-sorry mea culpa, coupled with unjust and harsh treatment in detention. The Querobin/Miranda/Danny Lim withdrawal of support did not achieve their aim of intimidating Ate Glue to voluntarily vacate the throne (resign, if you will). The reason is because intimidation is too feeble for dislodging a ferocious creature fighting for survival. Coercion might have been more persuasive – they had the guns, they had the guts, and they had the dedicated followers. When they let the moment of opportunity lapse, the iron lady who had a lapse in judgment pounced using her enormous powers – police and financial deep pockets (Pagcor and PCSO) and in conjunction with her obsequious generals wreaked vengeance on the hapless challengers. The persuasion attempts of Teofilo, Jamby, Cory, Susan, academe and leftists were uncoordinated and easily cowed after dowsing with unblessed water. They had the guts but lacked the other coercive factors (arms and teamwork). To be continued…

And you, Cocoy, sorry to say, did not help at all with your advise to all good Pinoys to migrate, leaving me here with no one to combat evil. So, there.
What keeps them bobbing up yet is the American buoy. And without the Americans I doubt if they can survive the low rating tempest. But without the popular leadership for the follow through, we remain at square one and continue to be oppressed.

Unfortunately for many of us Catholics we don’t..But in my parish we are being encouraged..I started to learn the bible in Sunrise Beach in Guimbal, Iloilo kasi maraming bible reading materials. And then in CPU. pagdating ko sa Sagrado..nawala as it was not taught. But in High School I picked it up again until now…kahit a few verses each day aside from the liturgy. Dito, natalo ang catholics sa knowledge of the bible. Not that religions should be competing with each other.. they should work in common (kahit hindi pareho ang dating to each one)for the spreading of the good news..ika nga..after all in the Bible
are the words of God Alive and Active..Pero, hindi ba nagbabasa na yong asawa? Kaninong version? Cardinal Rosales? Their Spiritual Adviser? Kaya pala that is why she is what she is now…
