Joey de Venecia, son and namesake of Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr. vowed to identify in a proper forum the “mystery man” who was with Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman Benjamin Abalos when the latter allegedly tried to bribe him with $10 million.
He said Abalos brought the “influential person” with him apparently to make him accept the $10 million bribe offer.
The quessing game now is: Is it Mike Arroyo, husband of Gloria Arroyo? Or is it Buboy Macapagal, brother of Gloria Arroyo?
Joey de Venecia will appear at the Blue Ribbon committee hearing on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.
Let’s watch this close together with the “Hello Garci” hearings which will be on Monday at 10 a.m.

Btw, a project similar to this has been in the pipeling since 1998 – Erap wanted it because he was lazy and didn’t want to hold cabinet meetings and thought a broadband network would also suit his purpose – armchair precidency.

I understand, when the broadband project was first proposed, it made sense because there was no Globe and Smart then. But with the extensive facilities of the two telephone companies all over the country, the broadband project has become obsolete. That’s the unnecessary part.
The illegal part was the lack of bidding.
The anomalous part is the price of P16 BILLION which is three times more than the original price.

All the flagship projects that were being initiated by Erap prior to his political demise were already allocated to many of the country’s biggest fixers. Dichaves who was a kingpin at DoTC was the lead fixer there.
The list contains fabulous projects with foreign proponents listing that I’m sure are being implemented today by Gloria’s govt. All they have to do is to pick out from the listing – Mendoza has a gold mine there.
DoTC is the biggest revenue generating (GENERATING not collecting only) agency of the govt (and not the BIR which is a TAX collecting agency), hence it is THE RICHEST agency, liquidity wise.
Defence contracts are but a fraction of sources of bribes… A FRACTION.
All defence companies in the world have civilian component arms that can readily deal with any transport and communications department of ANY country… (after all, the technology used by these civilian arms of the government were defence derivations.)

Someone close to Mendoza once told me that he has become tired of raising funds for Gloria and Mike.
I can imagine that if Mendoza is to raise funds for GMA and Mike, he would have to have his ample share.
But on a BOO scheme, build operate own under a grant (no money from govt, grace period of 10 years and 3% thereafter… – at the time, we proposed a pilot project for some 100 baranggays only. But some folks wanted money upfront and we said no, to hell with you guys, it was taxpayers’ money and t’was govt to govt thing so we dumped it.)

That is why the Pidals have to make sure they have tons & tons of money. The loyalty of their followers are all artificial. They are not like the followers of, say, Sen. Trillanes. That is why the Pidals fear the 11M+ followers of Sen. Trillanes. Sen. Trillanes had nothing compared to the Pidals in terms of money. The followers of Sen. Trillanes are solid. The followers of the Pidals are hollow. There lies the big difference.

I think Donald Dee is the brother of that Dewey Dee who escaped from the Philippines in the 70s for ripping off the bank industry. He’s reported to be in Canada and was very close to Enrile then.

Malaking scandal at balita sa banko noon ang ginawa nitong Dewey Dee. Balita ko tinulungan siyang tinakas ni Enrile. At that time, Enrile was the go-between of the bad guys and Marcos. Enrile was also connected to that Chinese drug lord Lim Seng who was executed during Martial Law.

Pechanco, Dewey Dee (I think) is the one who fled the country. His brother is this Donald Dee nga – President of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce (surfed the internet for that info). If I’m not mistaken, tawag pa yata dito sa tuta na ito ay Ambassador Donald Dee. He recently was in the Senate defending the JPEPA that pissed off Enrile – Donald Dee kasi was bastos when he was trying to ram the JPEPA down the throats of the Senators – napikon tuloy si Enrile.
Hindi napikon si Enrile. Arte at drama lang iyon. Enrile was very close to Donald’s fugitive brother Dewey. Whenever there’s an investigation like in the Senate, there’s the good and bad guy. Para hindi halata, kunwari galit si Enrile pero kakampi iyan ni Donald. These bad guys won’t act too obvious, will they?

Gloria Arroyo and her cohorts are not interested in national security. First and foremost greed, they are concerned on personal gain or interest. They have gluttonous appetite for power and money. The China Eximbank, a government-owned bank is financing the ZTE-NBN and Cyber-education projects. There’s something wrong here. It appears that China Eximbank will pay directly to China’s ZTE Corp. including the additional $200 M Gloria-Abalos’ anomaly without public scrutiny and let the next generations to pay the bills. Hell, its Lutong Makaw, pancit Canton plus roasted Peking duck in a row.

Donald Dee is an ass-licker nonpareil. He was supersipsip to Erap then, he is supersipsip to Gloria now. He was appointed to the Board of SSS 2 or 3 years ago. Silang dalawa ni Miguel Varela, at the time of Erap’s impeachment was calling for a status quo in the country’s leadership because stories abound that time that Erap was to be ousted by a coup. Magkano kaya ang kinikil nila kay Erap noon? Like the Pig, Varela is also from Ateneo’s Law School and a member of the Makati Rotary Club.
Dee is a tough defender of Gloria’s ecopolicies. He lists EVAT/RVAT, EPIRA, JPEPA, NPC privatization, even Con-Ass among the many heavier burdens to the poor, that his group has “championed” for the country. Look at the list again. Together with Miguel Varela of ECOP and Philexport’s Sergio Ortiz-Luis, this elite triumvirate form one facet of influential business sector. Other groups are the Makati Business Club, the Binondo Connection, the Coño group, Bankers Club and the ex-pats group among others.
Dee is an Special Ambassador for Int’l Trade Negotiations and the stench from his hand in JPEPA was as foul as the odor of garbage that Japan seeks to dump in our dear Philippines.
This crook is also lobbying for a monopoly, a single operator of all ports in the Philippines, a move seen by many in Makati as a means to create an all-crony consortium to prevent entry of foreign port operators to the country. Ricky Razon’s ICTSI and Asian Terminals, together with new smaller operators that include Chavit Singson (Poro Point), will virtually close the business from competition.

He also foolowed up on Garci for party-list groups TUCP and ANAD. Garci later apparently called Ruben Reyes to ask him to remove Gen. Gudani from ARMM. And he did. Powerful connections, eh.

Am dead certain, the Fat Goon (FG) flew to HK to escape from Manila’s growing controversy heat and the imminent clash of the Titans as Schumey calls the current corruption controversy. While FG is on the run, who knows, there might be a meeting between him and some ZTE corporate guys or their rep on how he could escape the heat totally.
If that isn’t on the agenda of the FG (Fat Goon), there could very well be “un mouvement des fonds” (liberally translated, “movement of funds.”) The man, after all is a lawyer and knows how he can break the law without being caught red-handed.

Will somebody please ask the National Bureau of Investigation to investigate into the alleged ZTE-Abalos-Mendoza, et al, corruption no matter who gets hurt and alert Sandiganbayan promptly?
