There were 25 cars that joined the mobile rally this afternoon. It started at the UCC coffee shop in Fort Bonifacio. It passed through Marines headquarters in Fort Bonifacio. Officers and soldiers looked interested.
When it stopped in front of LTA (Mike Arroyo’s) building on Perea st., the guards scrambled to secure the building. It was fun.

Various groups and individuals calling themselves “Concerned Citizens” today held a protest motorcade in Makati City and EDSA to denounce what they described as the “moribund and morally bankrupt Arroyo administration.”
The protest action was joined by the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan which carried placards depicting President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo as a “Suhol Queen” or “bribery queen”. Groups assembled at The Fort and proceeded to Makati City and EDSA with placards and balloons on their cars.
Bayan secretary general Renato M. Reyes, Jr. scoffed at the planned internal investigation of Malacanang through the Presidential Anti-Graft Commission (PAGC). “The Palace investigation is a sham. How can Malacanang conduct a serious and credible probe on the bribery allegations when the President herself was said to have been present during the handing out of the so-called cash gifts? The bribery was happening right under her nose,” Reyes said.
The Bayan leader also assailed what it called the “dismal track record” of the PAGC when it comes to investigating misdeeds of public officials.
“It has been well documented that the PAGC sits on cases and has a very poor track record in uncovering cases of corruption. It has not nailed any big fish, and we don’t expect it to start now with this bribe cases,” Reyes said.
Reyes said that the Arroyo administration is grasping at straws and desperately finding ways to escape the political fallout of the recent successive bribe allegations involving the Palace and officials close to the President.
“The fact that the bribes happened in Malacanang, under the nose of the President, already gives us a picture on the involvement of Mrs. Arroyo and her men. Any investigation initiated by Malacanang would be a farce, a mere zarzuela,” Reyes said.
More protest actions are expected in the coming days in the run up to the resumption of hearings on the ZTE Broadband scam before the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee. The National Broadband Network was the issue that sparked inquiries into bribe attempts involving officials close to Malacanang.

Next time, pakisabi sa mga rallyist, sindihan nila ang ilaw ng mga sasakyan nila para magandang tignan. Makaka-attract lalo iyan ng mga tao.
