‘Unhappy is the land that needs a hero’

I’d like Gloria Arroyo and her cabal in the House of Representatives to push charter change to the end.

So what if 64 per cent of Filipinos oppose charter change that would result in Gloria Arroyo staying in power forever? (Only 15 percent agree and 21 per cent are undecided, according to a September-October 2008 survey by the Social Weather Station)

What can those 64 percent, that roughly translates to almost 60 million Filipinos, do? Majority of Filipinos also believe that Gloria Arroyo cheated in the 2004 elections but did they do anything to punish the person who masterminded the thwarting of their will?

Much as I detest the shamelessness of Arroyo,I have to admit that in the seven years that she has been in power, she has ingeniously succeeded in perverting Filipino values producing a docile people that have lost the capacity to be outraged over blatant lying, cheating, and stealing.

Rather than go to the streets and protest unbridled corruption the way the Thais did , Filipinos turn a blind eye, suffer in silence and wait for their reward in heaven. The smarter ones join the corrupt and those who feel frustrated flee the country.

The other day, with the news that hundreds of Filipino workers in Taiwan have lost their job due to the financial crisis, Arroyo blithely said , don’t worry, the Department of Labor said there are job openings in Bulgaria. Yes, the Filipino is going global. Global slaves.

After disposing with dispatch the fourth impeachment complaint against Arroyo, Malacañang allies in the Lower House are now set to tackle the two House Resolutions on charter change. One was filed by House Speaker Prospero Nograles to open the Constitution to amendments that would allow land ownership by foreign corporations and associations and another one by Kampi president Rep. Luis Villafuerte which calls for Congress to convene as a Constituent Assembly to amend the Constitution.

The one filed by Batangas Rep. Hermilando Mandanas which seeks to transfer the elections from May 2010 to May 2011, had been withdrawn, according to Rep. Victor Ortega, chair of the House Committee on Constitutional Amendments.

All the three resolutions call for joint voting of the two chambers of Congress which Senate president Juan Ponce Enrile said will render the Senate inutile.

Church personalities led by Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales and Jaro Archbishop Angel Lagdameo, president of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines have spoken out against Malacañang’s latest drive for charter change. El Shaddai leader Mike Velarde has said he is opposed to charter change.

The Makati Business Club has issued a statement saying changing the Constitution now is not the answer to the country’s economic problems. It warned of political instability if Malacañang insists on it.

Former President Estrada vows to lead protests against Charter Change. Estrada said he will attend a multi-sectoral anti Cha-Cha rally to be held in Makati on Feb. 12.

Arroyo has remain unperturbed by the opposition to charter change, according to her spokespersons. Analysts say it’s now or never for Arroyo because time is running out for charter change as option for her holding on to power (the other is declaration of emergency rule).

In an article last July, former Supreme Court Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban sees a tight timetable for Arroyo: congressional approval by Dec. 31, 2008, Supreme Court decision by June 30, 2009, and plebiscite in September 2009.

Panganiban said, “The elections scheduled on the second Monday of May 2010 will then be held for members of the new Parliament, not for president, vice president, or senators. GMA will secure a parliamentary seat in Pampanga and then become prime minister in a Lakas-Kampi-dominated Parliament after her term as president expires on June 30, 2010.”

Arroyo is banking on the people’s apathy that has allowed her to cheat in the 2004 elections and continue in the plunder of government resources to buy the loyalty of her cohorts. I’d like her to push further because I’d like to see how much more degradation Filipinos can take.

There is no question about the people’s hatred for Arroyo. Ask the taxi driver, the street vendor. Yet, people are not coming out for “people power”. One of the reasons forwarded is that there is no rallying figure just like Cory Aquino in 1986.

That is very sad. I’m reminded of a line in Bertolt Brecht’s play, “Life of Galileo”: A former pupil of Galilio remarked, “Unhappy is the land that breeds no hero.” Galileo replied, “No Andrea. Unhappy is the land that needs a hero.”

Questions that must be asked is why is this Evil Bitch so shameless, arrogant and not scared of the people? Why doesn’t she care about public opinion? Why does she belittle the survey ratings giving her the lowest mark? Why does she continue to control the Congress, military, judiciary? There’s only one answer: Because we allow her.

If there’s one thing that she has perfected all these years, it’s to correct the mistakes of Marcos and Erap. She has studied the history very well. Before something serious happens, she anticipates and is ready to counter. For a People Power to succeed, it’s not sufficient to have people rallying in the streets. People need the support from several groups like the church, military and Uncle Sam. While the Evil Bitch is not able to control the people as proven by majority’s dislike for her, she has succeeded in making the church, military, and Uncle Sam happy.

every country is doing that. Even the United States has no restriction of land ownership except to those land declared as a government land. The revenue comes from property tax, business tax and individual income tax from employment. The ripple effect of allowing foreign investors to employ our people is good for the economy in the long run and may keep filipinos to stay home instead of going overseas. I have two questions for employment purposes:

    1. is it advantageous to our economy to allow foreign investors to come in and employ our people? or
    2. is it advantageous for our economy to send filipinos to bulgaria or foreign countries?

It is very obvious that the Makati Business Club will oppose CHaCha. MBC might be the businesses who have been influencing our laws and policymaking by paying bribes and gifts to any political candidate. MBC may be the target for this link: Business and Private Sector Greed and Corruption

Makati Business club may not be ready for competition against any foreign investors who can generate employment within our country. The rally against Chacha may not be the voice of majority. The provinces are not capable of participating nor even have access to the internet for the SWS survey.

I am giving Gloria the benefit of the doubt because none of her successors are credible enough to become president. “pareho lang sila” This country also do not need a lot of prayers that the fruit will fall unto Juan’s face. 🙂

A former pupil of Galilio remarked, “Unhappy is the land that breeds no hero.” Galileo replied, “No Andrea. Unhappy is the land that needs a hero.”

Please try to understand that. We should not wait for heroes. Let’s have an honest election. We choose who we want to lead us.

Asiandelight, the successor you might be thinking of is Noli de Castro. How can an idiot like him be the successor? That’s the reason why Gloria picked him as running mate. Noli has now replaced Chavit Singson as Manny Pacquiao’s bodyguard.
Notice how Noli stole the limelight on Manny’s victory. Noli blocked Singson’s face in front of cameras and TV.

I’m with Al, I’ve no intention of posting, but couldn’t let it pass. I can appreciate some loyalty to Gloria, however the offered reasoning is some what quite outrageous, to say the least. If we are to believe on the law of the land, it’s not about who’ll replace Gloria, the question should’ve been if Gloria is guilty of corruption and should’ve been prosecuted or impeached? All gov’t officials are not above the law nor the replacement. Gloria is not irreplaceable, including those waiting to take her place, will be sitting on the throne when the Gloria is gone. It shouldn’t matter who in the position, the law only thing should be respected.

You are too gullible, by the way. Do you believe it is only foreign ownership of land that will be amended when a ConAss is convened? Her bootlickers in Congress are willing to court the ire of all people, including the church, and destroy the Senate, just because of foreign ownership of land? Kindergarten logic. Esep-esep.

Si Gloria ay promotor ng modern day slavery. Gloria Arroyo calls the OFW the backbone of the new global workforce” and “our greatest export.” The government dependence on the export of people has become a formula for stagnation. The current global economic crisis is making heavy toll on OFW’s.

I share your frustration and frankly, almost tempted to say that Filipinos deserve their lot.

“Arroyo blithely said , don’t worry, the Department of Labor said there are job openings in Bulgaria.”

Whaaaat? Bulgaria? Good Lord! Bulgaria’s living standards are some of the lowest in Eastern Europe let alone in Europe. The country has one of the worst environmental records in Europe, eg., water pollution, air pollution, etc.

So many Bulgarians are being exported by their own nation to look for jobs in the West. Is this why the Gloria expects to replace those Bulgarians that are being exported by their own with Filipinos? To do the most horrendous jobs left by the exported Bulgarians?

For info, because there’s unemployment issues in Western Europe, many Bulgarians cannot find jobs and end up in miserable conditions. Many have turned into petty crimes. Most pickpockets caught en flagrant delit in Western Europe hold Bulgarian passports.

It is believed that there are more and more Bulgarian nationals who are incarcerated in Western Europe for drug trafficking and prostitution (saw reports on TV).

Gloria might as well send them to Georgia (the country not the US state) and made into human fodders when Russia-Georgia conflict arises again.

Can you imagine the chief executive of any civilised nation telling their fellow citizens that there’s no jobs back home and so, he/she is forced to export them as cheap human labour to politically volatile, impoverished and environmentally dangerous countries to do the jobs that not even the citizens of those nations want to do? Any civilised nation will go up in arms and topple that national leader.

But heck, in the Philippines, not only are Gloria’s words welcomed like the words of a patron saint, Filipinos look forward to hearing them!!! “don’t worry, the Department of Labor said there are job openings in Bulgaria.” Sanamagan!

Speaking of doubt, some like me still have doubts on Pacman’s victory. Even Pacman himself mentioned that his trainer picked the correct round he would win. Coincidence? I’m not here to spoil people’s celebration on Pacman’s victory. I join their in this celebration. Nevertheless, I get turned off when a game is fixed and too much money is involved. 25. Just checked the net on Bulgaria forum — would be good for Pinoys seriously thinking of being exported to Bulgaria to do some reasearch

    http://www.expatinbulgaria.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1606

For starters, I found some interesting response to someone’s query in the said forum:

    Standard of living:
a)Wrecked roads which can damage your vehicle and get you in bad trouble if you fall in a pothole.
b)Depressing surroundings, rotten concrete blocks and severe poverty in all areas of Bulgaria
c)Trillions of diseased, worm infested cats and dogs dropping their litter on the street and walking around desperate for food, it’s a very sad site.
d)If you live in a villiage you can get your electricity cut off from time to time and you may end up stranded and cut off from the town in the Winter when snow falls because many roads to villiages aren’t maintained.
Many villiages also have bad or no mobile phone reception and no internet connection. (That doesn’t apply to all villiages though, but a lot of them)

Cops are corrupted and they will try to trick you by getting you to pay penalty when you aren’t supposed to or more than you’re supposed to or to pay them an amount to make them go away.
When an accident happens they will make the one who pays the biggest bribe to be the innocent party.

Some more replies to same query:

    Dear DasFox,

    here is a Bulgarian opinion:
    1. Standard of living is lower here than in Romania (but not much)
    2. Crime – economic frauds and corruption on all levels; you may not notice it for some time, but this is the biggest (and most depressing) problem of Bulgaria, the big money just goes to the hands of some 200,000 very rich cheats, whereas the rest 2 million actively-working population earns around 200-300? a month or lower; the pensioners, minorities and co. live in extreme poverty.
    3. Cost of living depends on what you are used to and the place you decide to settle; the rule of thumb is that in order to keep your current standard you need to invest more; certain goods are just not available or way too dear here.
    4. Taxes are low compared to the rest of Europe (and probably lower than in Romania)
    5. Health care should be privately covered and then it’s okay
    6. Computer specialists are generally badly wanted; you have to negotiate a good salary though
    7. Language – you NEED to be able to read and speak some Bulgarian, otherwise things won’t work out. But this applies to quite a few other European countries, Spain, France, Portugal, Romania with certainty etc. – the local language is your key to success.

    Another one:

I’m stranded east from Plovdiv. I don’t have any word for the people here. Every day here’s bullshit f.e. yesterday (only 1 day) in our little city (15.000 at the most)

    – 4 are arrested for drugs possesion
    – 20+ are victim of fraud, the boss made them sign documents (under false pretends) and took a loan in their name of 3000Lv/head amounting 60-70.000 leva

do you want today’s news ?

I think 13 or 14% ang unemployment rate doon!

  28. Dito nga sa Western Europe, mga grape pickers ang maraming Bulgarians and then they send their income home!

The wage of a middle income Bulgarian is 200 Euros a month! Good heavens, anong ibabayad sa Pinoy? 20 Euros? Pareho ng gift certificates na binigay ni Gloria para Xmas bribe niya sa members of media?

  29. And during the winter, madalas ang brown outs doon! Mamatay sila ng lamig!

We need to help the broken-hearted and less fortunate pinoys at never na kaawaan sila kung wala naman tayong maitutulong, alright?

Ang AWA e angkop lamang sa isang sitwasyon na kung mayroon tayong maitutulong o maibibigay na anumang bagay sa oras ng kagipitan at pangangailangan.

Kung wala rin naman tayong maibibigay na tulong e better to keep shut up dahil is not worthy to talk about it. Ang may karapatan lamang to say AWA o NAAWA e yaong bukas ang puso at dalawang kamay to help and share our blessings sa mga kapos-palad at nag-aantay ng tulong at kalinga.

  31. Mas mabuti mag pa-export na lang sila sa Slovakia, mas civilised at maraming Western industry investors doon.

Mababait pa ang mga tao — crime rate is low and have low level of drug trafficking. (Marami nga lang smugglers doon.)

    Very little pollution pa.

  32. I visited Sofia (Bulgaia) last year with my husband for his NATO work and of course, we were treated as some kind of VIPs, so we had access to great receptions but when the wives’ group toured the countrysides (to visit historical spots), we could see the misery and desolation and the poverty. It was sad.

i’m not a guy bitchevil. i m a woman. I will probably apologize if people misunderstand me.

I am in the fair side of the fence not supporting nor resisting. I’m not even pro nor anti. Yes of course there will be few out there who are better than Gloria but who among them in the Senate? As far as I am concern, our country has not produced politicians with neither long or short term reputation of credibility. It’s the ngative side of this country ( like my post above).

On the positive side, 8 years ago prior to Gloria, blogging was never popular and people have no access to speak and get themselves closer to the media. Now more and more people are able to express themselves even attack someone that they don’t even know 🙂 just basing from one or two post. ( shallow)

The reality, there are still many people in the provinces and cities who have no access to the internet. The majority of this country is very poor that are voiceless. The middle class of less than 15% of our country are minorities. The one who controls both majority may be the elites who pay bribes and gifts to our corrupt leaders.I cannot assume that MBC’s interest to be anti-Chacha is for the benefit of the people. This organization should focus on job creation and stop influencing our laws and policymaking. Free markets and competition of businesses may not be good for profits but the result is employment and learning new skills.

The people who have access to blogs and the SWS survey are the middle class. Where’s the majority?

We cannot ignore the fact that the majority are getting hungry, deprive of equality and true democracy. They may have no stamina to even think who is the best leader for this country . The majority may drag us all in the mud unintentionally. They are the majority that are very vulnerable to change parties. The current politicians are products of majority. The connection of business corruption affects the middle class stability. We are indeed a third world country.

  38. Anna, I’m not familiar with Bulgaria at all (Although it sounds like a contraction of “bulgar si Gloria“) but if you say it has a lower standard of living than Romania, my God, who would want to be in that place? Romania is (in)famous for its cheap teenage prostitutes roaming all over Europe, right? Tenage hookers are protected in Bucharest not by gangs but by policemen, I’m told, and they roam the streets 24/7.

But tell me Anna if I’m wrong, my Belgian friend says 70% of the prostitutes in Belgium’s brothels are Bulgarian, mainly from Sliven daw.

Bugaw!

please do not misunderstand me . I am all with you and I wish I will win the lottery tomorrow 🙂 I will replace Gloria. One thing people must understand that the policy of Chacha is not just about Gloria. It conforms to the policy of a bigger regulatory board such as the world bank, the IMF , APEC, ODA loans and many more. Like networking in business and allies in economic sense, it has to go with the flow, like a trend or pattern. I don’t like investing time against the trend. So if it makes you all happy then I will TRY to follow the trend. 🙂

  41. From the web:

“Twelve Bulgarians are sent to Pescara prison, Italy, after a police operation for destroying a trade channel for young girls, the Foreign Affairs Ministry spokesman Lyubomir Todorov announced. 13,000 prostitutes have been interrogated during the general police action on the Balkans which aimed to restrict women trafficking and forced prostitution. Only 218 of the girls admitted that they have been forced to be prostitutes and that they are victims of the traffic of “fresh flesh”. 59 out of 230 pimps are Bulgarians, which means that the Bulgarians are the most active participants in this business on the Balkans.” June 04, 2003.

    Also this:

As in any poor country, to find a decent job in Bulgaria is not a matter of skills, education or persistence. Actually it is a matter of chance and even then the reward is so modest that at the end, almost every young person feels humiliated. The situation is even more complicated for young girls. Generally, they are the most vulnerable and threatened targets of the pimps who exploit mercilessly their naiveté and desire for better life. Most of the victims do not have a good education, do not speak foreign languages and do not work on a computer. They are young, they have dreams and they want to possess countless luxuries or to have just enough money to buy new shoes instead of food. The easiest way to achieve this is by finding a job abroad – as a babysitter, a maid, an agricultural worker, a farm hand, a dishwasher, never mind.

Tapos ipapadala ang mga Pinoy doon para magpa-alila?

LGUs increase income, Bulacan top earner
Written by Jesus F. Llanto (FRIDAY, 31 OCTOBER 2008)

Income generated by local government units (LGUs) in 2007 increased by 7.56 percent and reached P234.82 billion, financial statements from the Commission on Audit (CoA) published in major dailies today showed.

The 2007 gross income of LGUs was P16.51 billion higher than 2006’s P218.30 billion.

Net income of LGUs, however, reached P40.02 billion. The figure is P751.33 million or 1.84 percent lower than last year’s net income of P40.77 billion.

The Local Government Code or Republic Act 7160 has given local government units the power to generate their own source of revenue by levying taxes, fees or charges.

Provinces with highest income for 2007 are as follows: Bulacan (P1.807 billion), Negros Occidental ((P1.674 billion), Cebu (P1.657 billion), Cavite (P 1.542 billion), Laguna (P1.487 billion), Pangasinan (P1.482 billion), Batangas (P1.386 billion), Quezon (P 1.36 billion), Rizal (P1.361 billion) and Bukidnon (P1.295 billion).

Cities in the National Capital Region, meanwhile, dominated the list of cities with highest income for 2007. The top 10 cities with the highest income for 2007 include Quezon City (P8.43 billion), Makati (P8.296 billion), Manila (P8.240 billion), Pasig (3.952 billion), Davao (P3.153 billion), Caloocan (P 2.509 billion), Cebu (P2.44 billion), Paranaque (P2.153 billion), Pasay (P2.02 billion), Mandaluyong (P1.79 billion).

Municipalites of provinces belonging to Region 4-A or CALABARZON (Cavite Batangas Laguna Rizal and Quezon) dominated the list of towns with highest gross income. The top 10 municipalities with highest income are Binan, Laguna (P677 million); Cabuyao, Laguna (P593 million); Dasmarinas, Cavite (P535 million); Cainta, Rizal (P490 million); Bacoor, Cavite (P456 million); Gen. Trias, Cavite (P415 million); Rosario, Cavite (P408 million); Imus, Cavite (P370 million); Rodriguez, Rizal (P 310 million) and San Pedro, Laguna (P302 million).

    STILL IRA-DEPENDENT
Despite the increase in income, LGUs are still dependent on their share of the national taxes or the Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA). The financial statement of COA showed that 62.43 percent or P 145.69 billion of the LGUs total income represents their share in the IRA.

The IRA is the lifeblood of most LGUs and is used to finance the delivery of basic services. Poor LGUs, especially those who have low income generation capacities, have 80-90 percent IRA dependence.
    BIG SPENDERS

LGUs also spent more in 2007 than in 2006, the COA financial statement said. “Total expenses incurred by LGUs in fiscal year 2007 totaled P194.79 billion, posting an increase of P17.26 billion or 9.73 percent from P177.53 billion in 2006.”

Negros Occidental, Bulacan, Cebu, Cavite and Quezon were the five the highest spenders among the provinces while Manila, Quezon City, Makati, Davao and Pasig landed on the top five spots of big spenders among the cities.

The municipalities of Cabuyao, Cainta, Binan, Gen. Trias and Bacoor, meanwhile, incurred the highest expenditures among the municipalities. (abs-cbnNEWS.com/Newsbreak)

Re: “But tell me Anna if I’m wrong, my Belgian friend says 70% of the prostitutes in Belgium’s brothels are Bulgarian, mainly from Sliven daw.”

You got me there… Wouldn’t really know unless I did some sleuthing which I’m not keen on doing. But if your Belgian friend says it, perhaps, he should be believed.

My encounter with Bulgarians wherever I may be sitting (either in the City of Lights or in the EU Capital) is more in line with fixing things in a house — seen them doing odd jobs.

But tell you what if my contractor tells me that some of his workers are Bulgarians I will refuse to give him the contract; I’d go for Polish workers anytime than Bulgarians because I’d trust the Polish to know how to put two plumbing pipes together at the very leas.

My neighbour who hired an outfit who hired Bulgarians because they’re very cheap had problems — he had to have his boiler/heating etc done again; he found to his chagrin that the guys had actually inverted the pipes or the gas tubes connected to the boiler — baligtad iyong mga pipes!!!!

In Paris, I know that many white homeless people who are picked up are Eastern Europeans, Bulgarians and Ukranians for the most part…

    Balweg,

I like that kind of news. That’s the power of local autonomy , a baby step to the bigger concept of Federalism. Once our constitution will chacha ( Decentralization of National), that’s when people will start demanding more from their local representatives to deliver public goods and services in behalf of the people. Local Autonomy is a step to Chacha. Chacha itself is a step for feredalism. Management is a process and it has to go with the flow of the trend. In our country, the rest of Asia is trending upward but local leadership are trending backward because majority of Congress are still corrupt.

A full blown Federal State will open the right of the people to impeach their governor and congressman, thus will reduce further corruption. It will motivate competition of skills between leaders and that local leader will have a chance of running for president.

At the same time, we are still in the process of changing what the private sectors and businesses should do. The reality remains to be corrupt business practices and corrupt politicians as majority.

“…hundreds of Filipino workers in Taiwan have lost their job due to the financial crisis, Arroyo blithely said , don’t worry, the Department of Labor said there are job openings in Bulgaria.” This is one of the numerous prime example how incompetent Gloria as a leader, if one wants to call her as such. As I see it, Gloria has stole more than she can manage, which is why Philippines is in self-destruction with her years of leadership. Obvioulsy, Gloria’s gov’t and Pilipinos as a nation in order to survive must depend solely from foreigners, according to Gloria’s doctrine. And, Pilipinos are the victims of Gloria’s lunacy, psychopath ambition, if you will. But, the saddest part, was that Gloria is in denial of her mental illness and doesn’t know any better which is why she’s hanging on to the position, no what the cost.

There are two side of the fence. It looks like we have been in a tag of war. It is somewhat 50/50. Watak watak na 50/50.. But let me share my view as a woman of course.

“There is currently a myth in the making: that women are less corrupt than men. Recently some aid donors have cited statistical evidence that countries with larger numbers of women in politics and in the workforce have lower levels of corruption. That this finding can be explained by the fact that there are more women in politics and the workforce in liberal democracies that are anyway less corrupt than poorer less liberal regimes does not detract from the eagerness with which some development actors are seizing upon the potential role women might play in fighting corruption. The myth of women’s incorruptibility is not, of course, new. It is grounded in essentialist notions of women’s higher moral nature and an assumed propensity to bring this to bear on public life, and particularly on the conduct of politics. After demonstrating that some of the recent studies about gender and corruption record perceptions about propensities to engage in corrupt behaviour, this contribution suggests rather that the gendered nature of access to politics and public life shapes opportunities for corruption. In addition, corruption can be experienced differently by women and men, which has implications for anti-corruption strategies. A gendered analysis of corruption is in fact a useful entry-point to the examination of the gendered nature of accountability failures, and of gender-specific gaps in current attempts to promote good governance.”

We need more women in public office to chitchat with Gloria. She’s totally alone with another Loren and the others. They need women support to feed our children. The study above is very interesting. I have found many articles about women’s power. One good example is when majority of women in our country are employed, the less she will be interested in CONSTANT sex. 🙂 instead she will gain higher confidence and may limit her children to 1 or 2. Just like me 🙂 what about you women out there?

to understand the concept of women’s power to our current situation, where would Gloria belong? Does she have enough support to influence her well being as the mother of all the poor children? or she is surrounded with a bunch of male monsters from the Senate who influence her being?

We do have women in public office, but are they collectively on the same side or watak watak din?

The role of women in our society cannot be ignored.

  59. bitchevil bitchevil

Gender has nothing to do with corruption. Look at Imelda and Gloria the Bitch…Evita Peron of Argentina…Madame Chiang Kai Shiek. Without offense to women for my mother and sisters are all women, they are sometimes behind their husbands’ corruption. Marcos was okay and it’s a public knowledge that it was Imelda who destroyed him. But this time in this Arroyo government, Gloria and her evil husband work hand in hand.

  63. asiandelight asiandelight

good point Bitchevil , if we have to look on stat on women in public office, how many will counter, contra Gloria? maybe very few or none. That should support bitchevil’s assertion that women has nothing to do with corruption. korek ka diyan..

but my point was: is there enough women in our country in public office? how many women counter, or contra policymaking of the Senate and how many women are in the lower house or upper house Congress?

Let’s also consider the executive departments. How many women managing this country? how many women are at the top management position? own businesses?

Do we have strong organizations of women fighting against corruption? Look at the commission on Audit, is there a balance of gender in terms of management?

What about the department of Agriculture? is it managed by top level men and women are in the lower level?

There must be a good balance of gender in the area of management. Gender will not work if one is a minority over the other.

But cha-cha must really happen the sooner the better. Lets look at the draft and approve it in the plebiscite and if we dont like it, by golly, all we do is disapprove of it. Thats democracy. Of course we expect a lot of infighting in the process.

  70. Gloria’s policy of exporting OFWs is in fact stealing jobs from natives of countries where they are being sent to, thus, they become vulnerable in fact to exploitation. I don’t subscribe to this exportation and exploitation of Filipino workers. I prefer Filipinos going overseas on their own initiative and for their own profit and benefit, not for the profit, welfare and interest of their corrupt government. They should protest against being made objects of this blatant human trafficking being made to look legal just because it is being stamped by the Philippine labor department.

Asiandelight doubts that Filipinos have no other choice but Gloria because there are no other credible people to take her place. Really? Wow! I didn’t know that Gloria has attained a kind of greatness that she deserves such esteem. One would never think that in these modern times there is still a person who thinks backward as far as many centuries ago a pre-historic and stone age kind of thinking when rulers were worshipped as gods and irreplaceable. What a loser and pathetic mindset.

In this modern world almost nothing is indispensable and irreplaceable. No person has the monopoly of qualities of a good leader. So the idea that Gloria is indispensable comes from the thinking of some kind of lunatics. Gloria is not a leader but a ruler and a corrupt at that.

I was in Eastern Europe two years ago. Most of the unemployment rates were hovering around 20%. Prostitution was very visible particularly in the borders to Western Europe. Crime rate was very high and tourists were warned to be on the look out for pickpocketers at all times. Interestingly enough though, in some of the hotels and restaurants we were in, there were Filipino waiters and chambermaids.

Due to the high unemployment, even professionals become prostitutes to have a living. The buildings even in the tourists’ areas were quite dilapidated. Mahirap talaga ang buhay sa karamihan ng Eastern Europe. I was in about ten countries in that region. Halos parepareho ang kalagayan nila economically.

I am not quick to judge Filipinos who were out of the country for a while as they do not know what the actual condition of the country is in. The international news are all white washed and only goood news about the country are printed. I was in the same boat not too long ago. I stopped reading the throw away Filipino papers because they do not print the true picture of our country.

Speaking of local newspapers abroad, ignore Philippine News. It’s too bias. Many of the Filipino papers in the US are in Malacanang’s payroll. Even their columnists are paid. Take this Rodel Rodis for example. He used to praise the Evil Bitch to high heaven. He organized welcome receptions during the Bitch’s arrival in California. Rodis also represented that fake Mrs. Pelaez in charging Ping Lacson and then his client later retracted stating she was persuaded by Malacanang. Now that the Evil Bitch’s crimes are uncontrollable, Rodis chose to keep silent and doesn’t write about her anymore. How Rodis attacked Marcos and Erap, he doesn’t do it to Arroyo. He paid for it…the Fil-Ams dumped him this time and he lost his position at City College of San Francisco.

Take note that in all the rounds, Dela Hoya threw few punches. How could someone like him not throw punches and allow his opponent to beat him that way? Dela Hoya didn’t want to fight. If a boxer refuses to fight, the referee has the right to stop it. No contest. Surprisingly, it was Dela Hoya who stopped the fight resulting in TKO. yes in the modern world where everything is transparent and modern.

Our country belongs to a third world country. It is not considered economically modern. Financial transaction nothing is not transparent. This country cannot even provide basic healthcare and subsidies to the poor. Human rights are often get violated since 19 forgotten.

In Modern world for rule of law do not delay cases such as impeachment, jocjoc, zte and many more. And why is it congress cannot get Gloria prosecuted? what does it mean? Could it be that Congress is the real conspirator against the people?

Very few people are modern in the Philippines and that’s the middle income earner, who can afford and who have the guts to speak. But the sad reality, the middle income earners are not the majority thus it is a third world country.

The US has no restriction on land ownership by non-US citizen. That’s true. Remember that US is composed of 50 states. Texas alone, in terms of land area, is about 4 times the size of Philippines. Alaska is about 7 times the size of Pinas. There are other 48 states, big and small, which I don’t have time to research on. Of course, there are smaller states like Delaware, etc.

In short, US can afford to open up their territory to foreigners because of its almost unlimited supply of land.

Philippines is a different story. There are 90M filipinos living in a small area of land. What do you think will happen to the price of land, if foreigners have the same or equal parity with filipinos? According to the latest piece of Tribune analyst Lichauco, foreign ownership was tried before under Parity Amendment for the benefit of US citizen, we are not even talking about other nationalities here like- Briton, Australian, Chinese, Korean, Taiwanese, Africans,etc..- what was the result of that Parity Amendmen?

Opening territories to foreigners might work in other countries but not in the Philippines. Why? Due to limited size of land that we have and most of all, Filipino politicians don’t care about the country. All they care about is their own pocket.

Are Filipinos allowed to exploit the natural and mineral resources of USA without restrictions?

Cha-cha will be allowing our country to be exploited by foreigners of its rich resources. After Nauru’s exploitation, the exploiters left the country in shambles.

  87. florry florry

    Asiandelight,
Agreed, the Philippines is a third world country and you can even call it a fourth if there is such, but that is not the issue. We are talking about Gloria the bogus President that you believe in so much that you think Filipinos cant’ live without.

Now why do you think impeachment cases never reached first base? Why do we have those scandals like NBN, Impsa, North Rail Macapidal Avenue, JocJoc Bolante’s fertilizer scam, election cheating of Garci, the cha cha and many more? Why do we have those envelopes being passed on here and there? Why? Because it’s all being scripted by Gloria. It’s all Gloria’s show in her almost 8years of ruling the country with her stolen mandate. Yes, that’s Gloria for you.

I am just wondering why when majority of Filipinos except those in her inner circle of thieves hated her so much and wanted to kick her out for her being the worst and most corrupt president, yet here you are still giving her your benefit of doubt and believing that nobody is credible and capable enough to replace her, thereby insulting all Filipinos as dumb, idiot and stupid. I know we are still in a free country and we have a freedom of choice but I am a little bit puzzled.

talking about women in Politics, how about this excerpt of Hurricane Hazel from Wiki, who could easily have run for win a seat as MP and perhaps win a Party Leadership and become the country PM, but for the love of her City would rather stay as Mayor for perhaps the rest of her life:

    from the wiki:
Hazel McCallion, CM (Order of Canada, Highest Honour bestowed civilians) (born February 14, 1921) is the mayor of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, the sixth largest city in the country. McCallion has been Mississauga’s mayor for 30 years, holding office since 1978. She is affectionately called “Hurricane Hazel”[1] by supporters as well as the media at large for her vibrant outspoken style of no-nonsense politics.

She is one of Canada’s best known and longest-serving mayors. At the age of 86, she was easily re-elected in November 2006 for her 11th consecutive term, holding a 91% majority of the votes, and has often been reelected without even needing to conduct an actual campaign.
    end of quote.

In 30 years and counting she transform the city of Mississauga, border of Toronto from collection of small villages, into the 6th largest in the country, without an allegation of Corruption and all through the years drove her own car to city hall, until she gave up her license due to age and failing reflexes according to herself. and the city is very glad to provide her with a chauffeured limousine to and fro work every working day. Now GMA if you can only at least a fraction of Hurricane Hazel…

Ang daming tongresman at ilang senador na tuta ni arroyo, together with many in the judiciary, military establishment, LGUs and civil society.

    florry,

“when majority of Filipinos except those in her inner circle of thieves hated her so much and wanted to kick her out for her being the worst and most corrupt president ”

the majority voted for their respective governors and congressmen who are supposed to represent and speak in their behalf.

Let’s go back to impeachment, the law according to our constitution says, 1/3 of the house must agree for the Supreme Court to accept the impeachment. If you are puzzled, I am too. Only 1/3 vote from the lower house is required but none of that 1/3 stood up for the people. Nada. Nobody.

And let’s assume for example that there were 1/3. the Supreme Court accept the impeachment. It will go to trial where the Senate will become the jury. But the law said, 2/3 is required from the Senate to prosecute Gloria for all her crimes. But again NADA, Nobody , there’s no 2/3.

be, we should be more watchful if there won’t be a parade or motorcade for Manny on Dec. 12.

Malacanang perhaps is in favor of a big rally and use this as a part to orchestrate government destablilization in preparation for their option to declare Martial Law if Cha-cha fails.

Malacanang said that it will be a normal day for GMA. That’s BS. She knows pretty well that this rally may end kicking her out as they did with Erap.

Masha – that’s half-truth on Oca’s training. As confirmed by one of his sparring partner Edwin Valero of Venezuela – he intimated to reporters Oca was lazy, didn’t take orders and never jogged the required miles daily to really prepare for the fight. Valero is undefeated featherweight (24-0) with 19 knockouts in the FIRST ROUNDS ALONE! He will be better than Money Pakyaw knocking out everyone in his way, if handled properly.

To add a colorful remark on BE’s comment: On friday afternoon Dec 5, the odds for Manny in Las Vegas was at +170. The morning of Saturday Dec 6 (fightime), odds dropped dramatically to +140 for the PacMan. Odds plummeting like that is “quite suspicious”, some may call it “crab mentality” again but for me personally – washedout Oscar’s camp bet huge sums on Aling Dionisia’s favority son.

For the gamblers info: Oscar’s odds dropped from -210 to -165! Horse racing can be fixed, boxing can be fixed, Jueteng is fixed and hell! even the president’s election was fixed.

No more people power please? What we need now is to correct the previous mistakes done by Arroyo and her cohorts, and her cabal of military officers together with all conspirators last EDSA 2?

  106. Lets give the victory to Manny, its Christmas! From someone who experienced sparring and tournaments, training, preparing, and then pitting skills, endurance, and heart against another – its not easy to fake, and if you’ve committed yourself so much to the sport, its close to impossible.
Lets focus on Gloria, let the Filipino people enjoy their victory with the Pacman lest we alienate the vast majority. Manny is too simple minded and singularly focused to cope with too multiple goals – he just does his job, does what he is asked to do, and he does it well…Personally, I can relate to this, I’ve made my life simpler by just focusing on what you need to do, and do it better than anyone else, whether its right or wrong depends realy on the leader – thats why we need to focus on the leader, cut off the serpent’s head…
Manny deserves his success, our people believe in him, he is practically a national hero (or at least a live one), and as I said, its not good strategy to antagonize your people…

  107. Tedanz Tedanz

  108. If we go after Manny with again unproven speculations, we may lose support from a lot of people because we could be stereotyped as mere “intigueros.” Lets focus instead on the senators, opposition, who are building the case againse Gloria. Please, maghunos-dili tayo, this is not the time for behaving as “hate-mongerers” be aware of the “human factor” and the other elements we need to succeed. This is a conflict that needs accuracy and focus, not a shotgun approach like “kill all Gloria supporters.” We need to buid our circle of influence.

If the showing will be dismal, then that could only mean that the Filipinos get the government they deserve. At this point, there is no more ifs or buts, there is even no such thing as being undecided. The writing is on the wall. 12/12 will be D-DAY that will determine the future of the Republic of the Philippines.

We need to glorify our Almight God at maging instrumento tayo sa kabutihang-asal at kabanalang buhay.

  124. Rose,

    Beg to disagree most profoundly!

I don’t think either one is corrupt..kaya lang ang babae ay mas madali ma tempt..didn’t the devil (the snake) tempt Eve first?..and then she gave the fruit to Adam?

That’s what the writers of the Old Testament said, simple folks who needed a simple story to tell to simple people during those “simple” times to ensure that women kept to their place. It’s a proof that since time immemorial, mysoginy has been part and parcel of humanity.

I don’t believe in that mysoginist story nor do I believe that humankind sprung from just two lost people: Adam and Eve. (But that’s another story.)

It is wrong, utterly wrong to say that women are easily more tempted than men. Since time immemorial, history has shown us that temptation is not a matter of gender; it is in every one of us, male or female.

It so happens that one of the most despicable leaders that this nation has known is a woman but it doesn’t take away the truth that our history has also known male leaders who were tempted to run away with power — and who did, illegally, goaded by greed and megalomania.

  125. bitchevil bitchevil

Did you hear that Pacquiao may run for Congressman in Quezon City? Let him try it. If he has better chance in his home province, he cannot be sure in Metro Manila ’cause most are anti-Gloria. As long as he continues to be identified with the Evil Bitch, his political career shall be affected. But, I noticed some difference in his victory statement this time. While he used to mention GMA’s name in the past, now he told fellow Pinoys to unite and help the government. Just the same, such statement sounds like that of Malacanang. If I were him, I would say no to Cha-Cha and stop the corruption. That would make him more acceptable to the people. But, is there no corruption in boxing? He might be part of it.

  126. bitchevil bitchevil

No offense to women, but it’s my position that their role is at home to take care of their husbands and children. Man is head of the family. In the Book of Ephesian, Man is head of the wife as Christ is Head of the Church. Biblically, a woman should not be a leader of a nation. It’s also for this reason that I was against Sarah Palin.

  127. We cannot force the people to do something they are not prepared for or are not convinced enough to act on it. Sure, there are a lot of people like taxi drivers, cigarette vendors, etc who will talk trash about Gloria, but then are not prepared to do anything about it.
There are so many people who know so many things about this administration but don’t do anything about it, its as if these things are just common table fare when drinking, meeting, a big joke. At times, I think people see our political situation as just a big joke that not many take it seriously anymore. Why be the “do-gooder” when its convenient and more rewarding to lie, cheat, and steal?
We have become a nation of hecklers, magaling lang sa kantiawan, but then we don’t do anything, just complain a lot…those that actually make a stand – tinutuyo natin, I mean, they realize that they are standing alone, and all those who said so many things can’t be found anywhere…
Its time to reconsider our opposition strategy (meron ba?), because if we don’t have any, the other side may have one? …and allowing the people to regularly let off steam in sporadic rallies, may have the effect of diffusing collective outrage, working as a release valve to prevent a blow out or saturation point, or the more apt “tipping point.”

  128. Oops, now its come to the battle of the sexes? We should treat women with respect, recognize their strengths and offer our hand in their moment of weakness. As a believer of “all men are created equal” I believe that women should be allowed to actualize themselves as much as men. Gloria’s being a woman is just accidental, she was born a woman, but her decision to be corrupt is intentional…Some women make good leaders, unfortunately, the Philippines has not reached that degree of political maturity to fully accept one, hence we voted for FPJ…the rest is history…

  129. Hmmmmmmm…Obama shows his true colors, much like Chiz Escudero…

“Liberals are growing increasingly nervous – and some just flat-out angry – that President-elect Barack Obama seems to be stiffing them on Cabinet jobs and policy choices.

Obama has reversed pledges to immediately repeal tax cuts for the wealthy and take on Big Oil. He’s hedged his call for a quick drawdown in Iraq. And he’s stocking his White House with anything but stalwarts of the left.”

Professionally I can follow a woman boss, even make her look good, but deep in my heart I still want to have men to lead, that way I don’t have to work doubly hard.

Having a female boss could be challenging. Most of them manage using their heart and emotion not their brain. They are emotional, fickle minded, personal. Many bring their personal problems to work. Female boss not only has to deal with day to day work, she has to deal with her family and children. Worse are single moms who are also managers. Sometimes, they take on their workers for their own personal problems.

I know both of us are among the audience looking from the outside. The thing is maybe you’re too far or maybe too close to see what is actually happening in congress and the whole country as a whole. Why don’t you move a little closer or step back a little farther for you to see a full and unrestricted view of the country?

OK so majority of congressmen and local officials support her. Have you ever heard about coalition? These officials belong to different political parties other than her Kampi, and the reason why she has their support is because of MONEY. She’s not only showering them but pouring them with money of Juan. It’s like manna from heaven that no one can refuse. But I will not be very surprise if you say that you haven’t heard about vote buying during elections. I will not be surprise too if you claim that you don’t know Bolante’s ferilizer scam which he distributed to congressmen, governors, mayors during the last election. It’s all about cheating and buying elections.

Impeachment; Wow, It’s amazing and very funny how you understand the process of impeachment. To tell you frankly, and to put it mildly, you are ignorant of the law that you are talking about because there’s no such law and the Supreme Court has nothing to do with it. Not even the Senate has any business with the house until it reaches them. So you’re talking B.S.

Impeachment starts with the filing of the complaint. Justice committee in the house deliberate on its form and substance. Committee will vote and that’s when envelopes and bags of money come in to bribe these tongressmen to trash the impeachment. Yes, it’s that simple. And so no impeachment case against Gloria ever reached the Senate, because the lapdogs of Gloria already murdered it in the house.

Now, maybe that is already loud and clear for you to understand and my advice to you, don’t dwell on any subject that you are ignorant of. Little learning is a dangerous thing.

the gender issue was about the economic benefit of women work force and its impact to our Constitution. The more women in Congress, the higher the chance of proper check and balance.

In our society, it is a fact that we are overpopulated. Highest number of family comes from the poor. Let’s forget about ourselves and try to visualize that we are speaking in behalf of the majority poor and focus on economic benefits and the role of women to slow down overpopulation.
Empowerment to women in our country will alleviate the issue of overpopulation.

It will help our country grow faster than all of us will become rich 🙂 good day

  136. I refuse to be dragged into an argument guided by an overly-simplistic notion that a woman must play second fiddle to any human being, save to say that anyone who is still guided by some obsolete Talibanistic notion, eg., that woman should play second fiddle to a man, her husband or male friend, male colleague or anyone else, because of some superstitious belief that it’s apparently God’s will has got to have his/her head examined. End of story.

“The people who have access to blogs and the SWS survey are the middle class. Where’s the majority?”

Maybe for bloggers, that’s true. But for SWS surveys, even ordinary people like tinderas and barberos are interviewed. It is grossly incorrect to say that only the middle class serve as respondents. Otherwise, the methodology of representativeness and probability sampling is contested. I’ll bet my ass on the line, Mangahas and the other surveyors of SWS don’t interview middle class people ONLY.

The issue of “majority” is not even tackled in surveys like this, or at least it comes out by sheer representation in the sampling process.

If Gloria escaped another impeachment, that’s because there are many in congress who protect her as they believe and act in their own personal glorification. That’s not a reflection of what the majority of Filipinos believe.

Who knows, the real majority will speak up when those who lust for power and money make another attempt to “railroad” the changing of the constitution. Talaga nga naman, basta mga buwaya.

But then, that’s why the highest leader of the land must set the best example. If the example is bad, expect the followers to just mimic it. Gloria is setting the “baddest” example as a leader. She delights in lying, stealing, corrupting much more than anything else, reasons that we should trash this govt. like what others did (examples: Thailand, Pakistan, etc.)

If we continue to glorify such leaders for being “smart,” then there is no more hope for Filipinos whose thinking is as perverted.

She is such a bad name for women in general. Nothing about gender here, it’s just a case of a female who has sided with evil.

  145. parasabayan parasabayan

BE, I am a woman too and I had been in different management positions as well as some of the other bloggers here. Not all women are created equal. Please do not stereotype all of us!

As to the evil bitch, I personally think that she is just a front of a gang of corrupt lying criminals! She is not really calling the shots. She is just the mouthpiece of the mafia gang. Unfortunately the same gang calls the shots on Manny the boxer as well. Now the boxer is being groomed to enter into politics, again? He will join the gang of the inutiles like Lapid and Revilla. Puro paporma-porma lang. And the corrupt politicians like the kabayad, the sabit swingson and ati-atihan atienza.

  146. Elvira Elvira

Gender shouldn’t be the issue here. Let’s just DRAG Gloria OUT of Malakanyang! PERIOD

I understand hawainguy. The system has a check and balance , the congress. Could it be that the president of Congress, the third most powerful in our country can be manipulated by a midget? Villar now Enrile? Are these two credible enough to check and balance Gloria’s action and influence the rest of the House? To call upon us people to remove Gloria? It seems like majority in Congress are not supporting the people instead align themselves with Gloria.

Why is it always at the expense of our people? what is the use of Congress if they cannot act upon and implement its role as representative. Imagine, there are about over 200 of them. Only one or two have spoken and supported the impeachment. What does that tell you?

The process is frustrating to remove Gloria when my own congressman and governor have been supporting her. Where’s my right?

On the positive side, the familiarity of how our system work, may shorten the terms of a politician in office. Let’s keep exchanging ideas and respect each other’s opinion.

  149. bitchevil bitchevil

I wasn’t aware that there’s a lot of women bloggers here. Their names don’t show it. Sometimes, they write like men. I’m not discriminating against women. But when it comes to a leader, it belongs to man.

God’s words don’t change. I already cited the biblical verse why woman should be submissive to her husband. Even during the time of the Apostles, the ones administering were men. I base my position on what the bible says. Nothing personal. My mom and sisters are also women.

  152. I don’t have a problem being a subordinate to a female, especially if she is highly-qualified for the job. In fact I encourage female employees to be competitive with their male counterparts, and promote them over the males if they so deserve it. Women introduce new insights, radical ideas, using balanced perspective and the all-famous intuition that should go into very sensitive decision-making.

Look, there are more women than men in universities, maybe high schools too, all over the world which only goes to show that women could be better achievers, more persevering, and better pressure-handlers than most men. I’m all for equal opportunity.

I’ll have to stop here, the wife is calling.

  153. hawaiianguy hawaiianguy

    Asian D.

You got it! I respect everybody’s opinion here.

What more can I say? The highly touted check and balance in a democracy seems to be growing in RP as always a check – sans a balance.

Nogi Boy is unmistakably a Gloria puppet, as do most of the thick-hide creatures of Congress. He does all the bidding of the Queen, no matter that the road leads to hell. At least Villar is thinking of a public good (of course, his private concern does matter). Enrile is no better than Villar, look at what they are doing at Port Irene?

Despite its shortcomings, I still give the Senate an A+, compared to the House of Rep with a resounding F! (Sorry for those decent minority there.) Never mind those Senate puppets – you know who they are – and other good-for-nothing senatong.

While the lower court has almost turned itself into a lapdog (like this old guy Gonzales), I think the Supreme Court is still largely populated by right-thinking justices, save for many of those Gloria appointees who will even lick her ass to promote theirs. But beware, the last 4 or so new appointees can spell the difference, as Bernas and Panganiban warn, whether we will see an Arroyo SC until 2010 and beyond. (Thanks to the Davide legacy!)

BE, you sound like a guy from the Middle East re- position of women in society. Just kidding, hehehehehe!

Macario S – hope you’re right but 24/0 record is not a small feat. He’ll attain greatness if he fights Pacman, Mayweather, and Hatton next year. What you don’t know about PakYaw is his gloves are loaded with eight ballbearings…

No one here that I know of is putting down MP, my issue is Oscar’s fitness during the fight and pre-fight prep, some of you may think otherwise but it’s just me. MP is great in his own right and he will even achieve greatness by speaking loudly against this administration. He has the clout to do it now but somehow he’s clueless.

Women can be presidents, why not – presiding in the kitchen that is..no pun intended. The only woman I admired as head of state was Golda Meir. The only US Citizen to become Prime Minister of Israel. Other than her, most were useless, Gluerilla, Cory, Margaret, Evita, witchy carly Fiorina and I’m glad the lying moosehead from Alaska didn’t make it as VP, she would be at the bottom of my list.

What’s going on with Miriam Santiago again? She was so mad at Bolante and wanted him arrested again. But now, she wants him to be released from the Senate custody citing his detention is unconstitutional. After two weeks of silence, she now turns around with an opposite position. Was she only asking a favor from Malacanang and now gets it again?

  161. asiandelight asiandelight

    Florry,

Here’s a step by step process:
    1. Any citizen with an endorsement of a member of the House of Representative may file charges.
    2. The House Committee on Justice will decide by majority vote if the complaint has substance.
    3. The House of Representatives will vote to impeach the official. A 1/3 vote is needed.
    * If the vote passes, the complaint will become the “Articles of Impeachment” and the House will appoint prosecutors who may or may not be members of the House.
    * If the vote fails, the official accused can’t be filed for impeachment for one calendar year.
    4. The Senate will then try the impeached official. Conviction requires a 2/3 vote.
    5. Upon conviction, the official will be removed from office. Criminal charges may be filed.
TAKE NOTE: If the President of the Philippines is on trial, the Chief Justice of the Philippine SUPREME COURT shall preside but not vote

  162. bitchevil bitchevil

If you noticed in the earlier impeachment complaint, Atty. Oliver Lozano abruptly filed the complaint as a citizen and then endorsed by Rep. Rolando Marcoleta of Alagad Party List. Let me refresh you with the above background. Atty. Lozano is Imelda Marcos’ lawyer. Imelda has been a good friend of the Evil Bitch for some years now. Rep. Marcoleta’s party reportedly represented INC. INC was GMA’s supporter. As a result, the complaint was killed. The same trick could have been applied in this last one had it not for Atty. Harry Roque and his group’s beating Lozano again. Lozano’s copies of complaint sent by registered mail to the Congress came just a bit later than Roque’s group. Just the same, the Congress killed it. If another complaint, the last one, is filed next year; it would be meaningless since even if it succeeds, Gloria’s term would have ended. I prefer that charges be filed against her after 2010 when she steps down (if she does) because she loses her immunity from suit at that time.

  163. florry florry

Unite and fight. For the first time the great divide has broken and we see the meeting of minds of leaders of various organizations and association. Hopefully this will be the beginning of a long struggle against the Philippine public enemy No. 1. 164. florry florry

    asiandelight Says:

1/3 of the house must agree for the SUPREME COURT to accept the impeachment”.

What do you mean “the Supreme Court to ACCEPT the impeachment?”.

What I know is the SENATE not the SUPREME COURT WHO will accept it and the senators sit as judges and to be presided by the Chief Justice. Supreme Court has nothing to do with it especially in the acceptance of the impeachment complaint. The chief justice only not the SUPREME COURT comes in only during the trial.

About misery, desolation and poverty in Bulgaria It is the same things happen here in the Philippines. All Capitalist countries have the same thing in common. All are fr profit only. The composition of the Supreme Court is crucial to future cases that shall be decided. Seven Justices are retiring next year. Let’s make sure that none of these to be appointed Justices are not Malacanang’s puppets.

What are the reasons why bansot wants to do a cha cha. What are those?

    1. As everybody knows, bansot is using cha cha to extend her illegitimate power via economic provisions kuno. This economic provision will allow foreigners with the same right as Filipinos to buy land as much as they want.

    2. Why bansot wants 100% ownership of land ownership by foreigners? Remember Spratly and Palawan? Remember the US bases in Mindanao and Sulu?

Bansot and fatboy pidal are doing their typical pidal mafia’s way of doing things:

Violate the law and legitimize their criminal acts later.

“Unhappy is the land that needs a hero.”
Minsan may kinausap akong mahigit kumulang 50 katao. Yung tema ng sinabi ko sa kanila ay tulad ng sa pelikula.
“We came to fight as free men; and freemen we are. But what would you di without freedom? Will you fight?
Againsts that? No! We will run. And you will leave?!
Nay, fight and we may die. Run, and you’ll live. At least a while.
And dying in your beds many years from now. Will you be willing to trade all the days, from this day to that. For one chance just one chance. To come back here and tell our enemies; that they may take our lives. But they’ll nvever take our freedom.”-William Wallace.
Aba eh walang nakinig.
Miranda, Gen. Danny Lim, Gen. Gudani, Col. Querubin at ng iba pa yung ginawa ni Wallace, may sumunod kaya at may makinig? O manatiling tengang kawali ang mga Pilipino?
Its really unhappy. Pero hinayaan din kasi natin na mangyari ito.

pakyaw is certainly not a hero for me either. pinoy sports ought to move on to other branches of sports less brutal. pinas politics is more brutal than boxing so if pakman could not find any better guy to box he can always go to politics.

I beg to disagree with Norpil.

The Pakman will be a big disappointment if he goes into politics, which is dirty all the way. Right now, he has started throwing mud into his face by allowing his good reputation to be sullied by Gloria’s offer as Ambassador of Peace. What peace is that lady talking about? Poor Pakman! He is so gullible and naive as not to know what he is doing outside the ring. Sayang ang taong ito, nagmukhang bobo tuloy.

  186. chi chi

Ha!ha!ha! Nagpapatawa ka HW. “nagmumukhang bobo” ba o sadyang ganun talaga? Ang utak ng taong iyan ay nasa kamao, heheh. Buti naman at pinakikinabangan niya.

What can we emulate from a hero like Pacman? We emulate his fistfighting? We emulate his beer drinking? His singing? his womanaizing? Cockfighting? His out of schooling? His ‘ividensial’accent? Politicking? money acumen?

  188. hawaiianguy hawaiianguy

    Chi,
