Habang papalapit na ang 2010 na ang pagka-intindi ng marami ay hanggang doon lang ang termino ng nakaw na pagka-presidente ni Gloria Arroyo, nilalabas na ng mag-asawang Arroyo at ng kanilang mga alagad ang kanilang mga huling baraha.
Alam naman natin lahat na walang plano si Gloria Arroyo bumaba sa kanyang hawak na nakaw na kapangyarihan dahil sa dami ng kanyang nagawang krimen laban sa mamamayang Pilipino, takot siyang makasuhan at makulong kasama na ang pamilya.
Hindi na solusyon ang mangibang bansa ngayon dahil nakita natin sa kaso ni Augusto Pinochet ng Chile at ng iba pang international criminals na hindi kinukunsinti ng ibang bansa ang mga dating lider na nanloko ng sariling mamamayan.
Kaya naman nakikita natin na habang lumalapit ang 2010, padumi na padumi ang laro. Ang nilabas nilang baraha ngayon ay ang kaso ng pagkamatay ni Bubby Dacer at ng kanyang driver na si Emmanuel Corbito.
Paano kasi mukhang lumalabo ang pag-asa sa Charter Change. Di ba noong una, ang mga alagad ni Arroyo sa House of Representatives at liga ng mga lokal na opisyal ay nagsagawa ng cha-cha. Nagbakasakali silang mapalitan ang sistema ng pamahalaan ng parliamentary form of government para manatili si Arroyo sa kapangyarihan bilang prime minister. O kung hindi man, mapalawig ang kanyang termino siguro, habang buhay. Naharang lang sila ng Supreme Court noon ng panahon ni Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban.
Buhay pa ngayon ang cha-cha sa House of Representatives. Pinipilit nilang hindi nila kailangan ang boto ng Senado na hiwalay. Tantya kasi nila kapag dinala sa Supreme Court, makukuha nila ang pabor na desisyon dahil marami na silang hawak na mga miyembro ng mataas na hukuman.
Kaya lang alam din naman nilang, suklam ang mamamayang Pilipino sa kanila at kapag ipinilit nila yun ay baka mapa-aga ang pagpatalsik kay Arroyo. Lahat ngayon pinapakiramdaman nila.
Nandyan din ang posibilidad na kapag itinulak nila yun at magkagulo, maari ring mag-emergency rule si Arroyo. Hindi nila tatawagin na martial law ngunit ganun na rin ang bagsak noon.Ang problema sa emergency rule na scenario, hindi hawak ni Arroyo ang buong military.
Ang isang baraha ni Arroyo na nilalaro ngayon ay panalunin ang kandidato sa 2010 eleksyon. Kailangan niya ang kandidato na mangakong hindi siya uusigin sa kanyang mga krimen. Siguro makukuha niya yun kung mananalo si Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro o si Vice President Noli de Castro. Sabi ng iba si Sen. Chiz Escudero din daw.
Ang problema lang, sa sobrang baho ni Arroyo, itong mga kandidatong humihingi ng endorso niya ay isusuka rin ng mga botante. Kaya kailangan nila sirain ang mga malalakas sa oposisyon o kaya ipitin para makipag-deal sa kanila.
Ito ang nasa likod nitong bagong gimik ni Justice Secretary Raul Gonzalez, sa utos ni Arroyo, tungkol sa pag-pauwi kay dating PNP Senior Supt. Cesar Mancao.

In response to this topic, I would like to pose this query: Did Lacson order the killing of Dacer and his driver? Did Lacson have a hand on it? I personally don’t believe he did. Gen Lim seems to be an interesting development in the history of our struggle to recover that home that is truly our own. Where and when we can finally come home to. Gen Lim seems to be admirable because of those actions of struggle he shared with us Filipnos throughout his career. He spent the best years of his life not in privilege and economic and personal and family security, which he had access to, but in sharing the struggles of us Filipinos.
Gen Lim could even become a historical leader of choice, of the whole NATION OF FILIPINOS if, only we could be assured considering his: social; basic and undergraduate-military education background, that he also share in the organic historical Filipino underlying motivation behind our struggles.
These are our longing to come home to where:
1. We the Filipinos are truly the owners;
2. We the original and substantially Filipinos, have access to our own economic resources such as agriculture, rice, retail, shoe, automotive and other industries which today are owned or controlled by the Chinese or Chinese in substance but holders of legal documents as Filipinos in form;
3. We the Filipinos control not only our economic, political, legal, and foreign affairs system but importantly, our DEFENSE SYSTEM, which as of now, we not only know, not only accept it, but even desire American or other foreign control of it;
4. We could be led by someone who could liberate us from perpetual dependency on foreigners, towards ability to chart our own destiny;
5. We could be united and have love for one another as Filipinos irregardless of social class;
6. We could recover our pride of our nation as Filipinos irregardless of social class.
Andres Bonifacio, in whose veins flow some Spanish blood, whose education was meager and whose economic base was handicapped, transcended himself to lead the Filipinos to independence from Spainish rule. Gen Lim, in whose veins flow the Chinese blood, whose education was that of Chinese and American (West Point) and economic base is not enough for a political operation, COULD TRANSCEND himself to lead us Filipinos to continue that unfinished historical RESISTANCE by Ricarte, Antonio Luna and other Filipino warriors against American control coordinated by the Chinese and colaborated by GMA.
If only Gen Lim could assure us of this transcendence, we could be assured that he can be our leader of choice to lead us Filipinos to finally COME HOME!

Cocoy, I share the same thoughts that you have on Obama. I did not vote for the guy because I knew that he is too liberal and that is not what the US or the world needs at this time. He barely sat when he wants to let go of the villains who turned the world upside down. Now he wants to even shake hands with the Taliban and the Al Queda. He makes me very nervous. His economic stimulus is being turned down by the banks. I wonder why? Lack of trust? His proposed excessive taxation of those making over $ 250,000 (which by the way are mostly small businessmen) will be detrimental! He wants to go GREEN which I do not have any problem with if done in stages. He wants to fix the school system and the health care system all at the same time. Good luck to him! If he thinks he is a “superman”, maybe, he is! I doubt so much!
I always laugh when I read and listen from well informed analysts and journalists who have a limited understanding of leadership and the extent of the culpability of the governed in creating systems that produce leaders who appear to be unaccountable and a law unto themselves. Some have made it the habit to target individuals who are leaders while seeking to ignore the institutional base where they originate from. We need to go beyond individuals and seek to interrogate the proposition that many of these institutions i.e. political parties have not lived up to the ideals on which they were founded and remained responsive to the aspirations of people as well as those of our country.
In seeking to isolate leaders and ask them to identify and select their successor, is there no risk that Philippines may be shooting itself in the foot. Should we not focus on creating a framework in our country that allows average citizens to be Presidents underpinned by a smart culture, conventions and programs informed by a value system that respects human and property rights? Should we not focus about policies of political institutions than leaders who owe their legitimacy from the same institutions? Yes, ultimately the leader must accept responsibility but I submit that it is dangerous for citizens to believe in democracy and appear leaders to be voted by the same people that we daily demonise.If we won’t change this ill- practice,Joc-Joc Bolante will one day become a president of the republic of the Philippines.Or maybe,Celso Delos Angeles and Romeo Jalosjos.

With regard to the alleged participation of Lacson, the original affidavit of Dumlao which was used to implicate Lacson, actually provides exculpatory circumstances. For the only reference to Lacson is the following exchange:

I did a quick reading of the two affidavits — Mancao’s is full of “innuendo” or more politely allegations; frankly, I say, what’s wrong with Lacson “instructing” him and whoever to look for the properties that the Pidals purportedly own?
What I don’t understand is what do the Pidals expect to achieve by having those guys in Pinas?
To be perfectly honest, I don’t know much about the Dacer case — I remember reading lots about it whenever I went to Pinas then for my job but didn’t give it much thought so I don’t know the relevance of the extradition of these two witnesses.
In any case, from what can be gleaned in some of the posts I’ve read, i.e., reactions of readers here, the Pidals seemingly want those two to use them against Lacson… Is this the case? But know what? Because of the poor, excecrable credibility record of the baboy Pidal couple, anything they do to confuse people, to detract from corruption issues hounding them today, I will not believe anything they do, but absolutely NOT!

Adding those mentioned by saxnviolins I guess would be anti-climactic to the Gonzalez’ striptease that turned out to be a freakshow.
Since rumors of Mancao’s homecoming started hugging the headlines, it made me wonder why DOI (Dept. of Injustice) Sec. Gonzales, who’s mouth is usually faster than his brain, suddenly became tightlipped as to the contents of Mancao’s supposed affidavit. All through last week, he had been contented saying that the affidavit are ‘safe’ in a vault, and that he won’t mention names until Mancao arrives.

An isolated case of mistaken identity does not make a “notorious” group of cops.
The incident that made me a believer of the PACC/PAOCTF groups’ serious crimefighting activities occurred in the early 90s when a Korean picture album export company was held up and robbed of its payroll, cash funds and personal valuables. The Korean company president and his fellow Korean staff were then renting two of our houses. Investigations were supervised directly by the likes of Mancao and Aquino, whose ranks are equivalent to Colonel in the AFP. Not just Lieutenants or Captains which was the usual “kalakaran”.
To make it short, in the midday gunbattle along EDSA between PAOCTF and a kidnap syndicate (where one young kidnap victim Charlene Sy was killed in the crossfire), the suspects would not have been identified if the cops had not been casing the white Nissan Sentra which the PAOCTF suspected to be the getaway car in the holdup of the Korean factory.
What I’m saying is that these guys know how to investigate and identify crime syndicates the Chinese community never blamed them for Charlene’s death. In fact, they even supported the group by donating more to their funds. They solved at least two crimes in that incident and neutralized a notorious band of criminals victimizing local and foreign chinks.
It is very hard to discredit achievers. It takes more than Ador Mawanay, Rosebud Ong, Victor Corpuz, Blanquita Pelaez and daughter, Chavit Singson, VACC, Danny Devnani, Ramon Tulfo, Leonard De Vera, all Malacañang spokesmen past and present, Joker Arroyo, Raul Gonzalez, even Mike Arroyo and any other lowlife scumbag whether acting alone or all together in cacophonic symphony, to put a good man down. They can bitch all they want against Lacson et al. and after doing so fruitlessly for eight frustrating years, they come up empty, still.

Statement of the Concerned Citizens Movement:
Civil society personalities today denounced what they described as the “demonization” of Senator Ping Lacson. Describing the Senator as the last voice of dissent in the Senate, Betina Legarda, Co-convenor of the Concerned Citizens Movement said that the linking of Senator Lacson’s name to the Dacer-Corbito case is intended to “eliminate the voice of dissent in the Senate”.
Prof Harry Roque of the UP College of Law added that the timing of the accusation against Lacson is suspect:”Why did they wait for 8 long years before implicating Senator Lacson? And why are they implicating him only now, just when the election season is about to begin? In a banner story that as published today, Lacson was allegedly directly implicated to the Dacer-Corbito murder cases by virtue of an affidavit executed by Cezar Mancao, a former subordinate of Lacson in the Philippine National Police.
Former DOTC Secretary Josie Lichauco stated that the best evidence of the alleged involvement of Senator Lacson is the affidavit itself. Where is this affidavit? Why does not this administration finally release it to shed light on this latest controversy?
Lichauco, who is a Yale educated lawyer, added that affidavits in this country are suspect given the fact that we have ceased to put a value on the truth. Soliman herself was impleaded in a criminal case shortly after she withdrew her support for President Arroyo.

Tongue, there’s no doubt that the Chinese Community supported Lacson and his group. Lacson never asked or received any monetary reward for his crime solving particularly the kidnap for ransom against the Tsinoys. Even Teresita Ang-See supported Lacson. However, the group did commit some blunders and mistakes.
Incidentally, writer Tony Galvante has directly mentioned Lacson as the mastermind of Dacer’s murder in an affidavit in possession of the jounalist. Galvante even dared to stop writing after 18 years of career just to prove this. He refused to reveal his source claiming right to confidentiality. I think the source came from no other than
DOJ. Lacson has a lot of explaining to do. I’ve always been for Lacson; but if he indeed ordered the killing, then he must be accountable for his act.
I have grave doubts about Calvento’s interpretation of the affidavit.
This morning, Mancao’s lawyer Arnedo Valera called his report “iresponsible journalism”.
But Galvento called tha lawyer “irresponsible lawyer”. Anyway, Raul Goonzalez has already read the affidavit pointing to Ray Aquino as the officer but no Lacson’s name on the affidavit. Which is which and who’s telling the truth? Who has the correct and genuine affidavit?

The PACC/PAOCTF group was created out of the old and new faces in the PNP. The old ones are the misfits in the old PC-INP while the younger ones were mostly the idealists from PMA. At a time when the Lacson-initiated org-wide reforms in the police was considered by many oldtimer cops as a threat to their lifestyles, Lacson and his reformist boys were considered threats too. I know some PACC originals who were in the anti-carnap group who murdered a fellow cop from Pasay, his brother from the Army and their lawyer in an alleged shootout in Magallanes after the victims attended a court hearing in Cavite. There was no shootout because the dead cop, Elmer Pueda, hadn’t even cocked his pistol, the lawyer’s own gun was still in the attaché case, and the Army guy didn’t carry his weapon.
Being a good superior who knows the value of protecting his men, Lacson got the PACC men out of trouble. But we in the community all know that it was a drug doublecross between one PACC operative, whom I will not name, and Elmer, who are both our drinking mates.
It isn’t right to attribute to Lacson this rubout just because PACC did it, am I right? In the same manner that just because PAOCTF operatives allegedly “salvaged” Dacer and Corbito, it was Lacson gave them the orders. There has to be corroborative evidence aside from self-preserving testimonies like that which we expect to come from Mancao and others. Oh, that from Berroya, too!
It is easy to concoct lies and stress on half-truths but documentary evidence, like these US-notarized affidavits Ellen had just linked, are hard to debunk. There is enough jurisprudence that voids subsequent testimonial reversals especially when there is an indication of duress.
If I were you, I won’t take this Dacer-Corbito rerun too seriously. We’ve seen the old movie. It’s all prop work by Malacañang stooges to take the heat off Mike Arroyo and his spouse, if you didn’t already know that.

Another fallacious analogy peddled by Lacson’s enemies. If the MISG were killers, and Lacson was a lieutenant of MISG, then Lacson was a killer?
Going by the same analogy, MISG was under PC-INP headed by Ramos. So Ramos is a killer, too?
There will always be misfits in any organization. But unless there are evidences to nail them, they remain innocent. They have been trying that on Lacson unsuccessfully for nine long years. The only thing that was proven is that they are stupid.
