May eleksyon ba?

Maliban sa mababaw na paningin natin sa eleksyon, talaga namang mahalaga yun para sa isang demokrasya na sinasabi ni Abraham Lincoln na “government of the people, by the people, and for the people.”

Sabi niya, “She has been a good president”.

Diyos na mahabagin!

Ellen, this will be the igniting point of a real revolution and the putot will not be able to stop it no matter who it is that she put in the AFP to keep PEACE! There will be no peace. If Filipinos are taking all the blows now, it is because they see the light at the end of the tunnel, the 2010 elections. Take that away from them and there will be chaos!

  2. chi chi

Gloria placed her four AFP super nannies in place to sow fear amongst the pinoy. But takutan is already an old tactic that won’t wash away Pinas election fever. Come hell or high water, Gloria will be out by 2010 as permanent acting president. As for her coming out as Pampanga tongresswoman, malamang!

“She (gloria) has been a good president”. – Lie-lie Fajardo

    GWAAAAARRRRKKK!!!!

  3. Mike Mike

Gloria cannot be too sure about the loyalty of the people she appoints nor her allies in congress. Case in point, it was reported that one of her plans if in case Cha-cha doesn’t push through before the 2010 elections, they will make it happen after the 2010 elections. She was hoping that if she wins as Congressman in Pampanga, her allies will elect her as Prime Minister. But she should be reminded that all politician’s (including her so-called allies) natural instinct is to seek higher positions whenever there is a chance or opportunity. Who would, for example stop Speaker Nograles or even Villafuerte in seeking the top post too? The better option for her, I think is to leave the country as soon as her term’s end if she wants to avoid being sued and jailed for all her misdeeds while in power. Better chose a country that has no extradition treaty with the Philippines for good measure.
As for her generals, their loyalty is only up to how much is being offered. sooner or later, the Arroyo couple will be scrimping for funds already when they are already out of power. I wouldn’t be surprise that the very generals that she bought for their loyalty will dumped her like an excrement into the toilet bowl.
It happened to Marcos and it happened to Erap. Their so called loyalist turned out to be balimbings.

When Gloria is no more permanent acting president, she’d be powerless and even if she’s elected Pampanga tongresswoman, she will have to compete with other tongressmen for speakership. Ano s’ya, sinuswirti?!

Yes, Mike. I agree that her dogs now in Congress will not stay loyal to her when she’s out of power. Ano sila, tanga?!

Nograles and allies are just dancing the cha-cha with her, giving her hopes only for the bayongs of kwarta that they will also use in their own reelection bids. Nagmamatsingan na but at the end, Gloria and family have to go and spend their kurakots somewhere safe for them.

Mas OK sana if the Pampangenos will fail her and cut her kababuyan…that’s wishing upon the star.

  5. Si Nunalisa kakandidato ng Tongresswoman sa Pampanga? Talo.

  6. chi chi

Cocoy, nagwi-wish ka rin na tulad ko as to the Pampangenos :).

    Ellen,
here is the latest salvo from Miss Dhalla Lawyer (re: caregivers’ case) and the unmoderated comments from the Readers, including mine…there is a lull to the “war” for now, since we are celebrating Queen Victoria Birthday, but the hearing is still going on, and the committte might summon the MP family member to testify…next in line is the head of Interced, the Domestic and Caregivers Union that will prove that she has the record (telephone) of her Conversation with the MP which she vehemently denied…

  18. Election or no election, we are now actually listing up the candidates that we will support for next year’s election although we do not intend to campaign for them until the day prescribed by law as the start of the campaign.

Yup, we are not campaigning for any so-called “Official Opposition Party” especially with the same trapos running the show, and especially not one endorsed by the Evil Bitch or even Erap, who, as far as we are concerned, should have retired from politics by now and devote his last days in doing what really can benefit his country and people like making documentaries exposing the anomalies in the Philippine government, etc. ala-Michael Moore. No more hoodwinkers for us!!! 😛

So far, we have only two in our list for Senator (Col. Ariel Querubin and Satur Ocampo) since we have no intention of endorsing anyone for Congress since the OFWs cannot vote for them and none for President and/or Vice-President as yet. This time we are making sure we will not waste even papers and ink for our campaign.

We invite everyone to join the Satur for Senator campaign at http://satur4senator.ning.com/ As for the Querubin campaign, please see previous loop.

  19. Ellen, this will be the igniting point of a real revolution and the putot will not be able to stop it

Susmaryosep!

Labas niyan hindi na Republic of the Philippines, kundi Republic of Arrovo-Macapalgal! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

This was the one written by Ellen a month ago. Ok siya mukhang gawa ng kabataan!

  21. No-El is Malacanang’s last option. The Evil Bitch is prepared for any eventuality.

With the opposition divided and in disarray, the best option is for Erap to run again. Some would disagree; but it’s the best option to prevent any Malacanang candidate from taking over. Erap’s predicament is the legal issue. First, we need to determine if his release was a conditional or absolute pardon. The Constitution states there’s no reelection…but it’s for the incumbent. Nowhere does it say that former President before the incumber cannot run again. Erap is not running for reelection. Remember that he did not finish his term but was unconstitutionally removed. The agreement has a portion that states “restoring his civil and political rights”. In fact, Erap was able to vote last election. If he could vote, why can’t he be voted. The will of the people prevails over any other law.

siguro nga pag di tayo kumibo at kumilos….magiging tama si usec. lorelie fajardo – “why not? she’s been a good president” sa usaping what if gloria arroyo assume the prime minister post.

  23. Tilamsik Tilamsik

  26. Enciong Enciong

We must do something concrete.

How many Filipinos have access to this and similar like-minded sites? How shall we propagate this?

The common tao is busy trying to survive on a day-to-day basis? He/she has no time for intellectual ejaculations. It’s not that they are calloused. This is just not their priority at the moment.

    Any suggestions?

  28. maydangalpa maydangalpa

I hate to be the doomsayer, but really, what i can see is that gloria would do anythimg to stop the elections. she would take the chance of the people’s wrath and hope that the Filipinos have totally been apathetic that they would not do anything at all to drag her out of Malacanang. I just hope the we, as a people would learn to take action where action and how drastic it may be, is necessary.
gloria and fatso would place all their hopes to the generals they have put in place to shield them from the people’s wrath.
On lorelei’s promouncemnt that she has been a good president, WTF! pardon that, but i really mean that!
In my honest opinion, they should all be castigated publicly and hanged for all the peoplde to witness, domestic and international, as this could send a chilling signal to each and everyone that the Filipinos has had enough of hoodwinkers that we would not hesitate to punish those who have trampled upon our person.

    “Kaya Natin”… “Moral Force”… “Education Nation”… plus many, many more well-meaning groups…

All these could tie up into one umbrella group to be a strong force against the corrupt regime.

  47. Balweg Balweg

Gloria was not even qualified to run in the 2004 elections in the first place..?

  48. parasabayan parasabayan

BE, personally, I would like Erap to just be a “king maker” instead. He was given a chance to be the president but he blew it! He would not have been dethroned by the pandak if he was doing his job. His choices of men around him at that time were the likes of sabit swingson, Ang and the like. The same people are now seving the bitch! If he had his heart in really helping all sectors of the government, he would probably even be reelected. A Philippine president can not just work for the “masa”. He has to be able to balance the governance between the rich and the poor. Even Obama when he won realized that immediately and had to correct himself. Obama wanted to increase taxes on those making $ 250,000 or more. Now he is rethinking if he should tax them.

Unfortunately, it is just an illusion of the poor that if Erap will be elected they will have a good life. Our country has an economy that is no better than Bangladesh. Our country had been and continue to be looted by those in power including their cronies. It is a very vicious cycle. Unless we have an iron hand to make sure that these LOOTERS will be punished, we will remain a PIGGY BANK of these leaders who are really ROBBERS!

  49. I beg to disagree with you, my friend. Even during the campaign, Erap’s enemies were already destroying him. If you recall, even the late Cardinal Sin kept attacking Erap during the campaign. Fortunately, Erap won by a large margin even if attempts were made to cheat him. The Dagdag-Bawas scheme of FVR did not work. From day one in office, Erap’s enemies did not stop. A grand conspiracy was hatched involving the church, military officials mostly led by FVR camp, the Makati Business Club, then Cory’s Yellow group and of course GMA’s behind the scene maneuver through her husband. Add to this was the gang-up on him by the giant media networks. ABS-CBN and the Lopezes then were still unfriendly to Erap. The communists did not also want Erap. The rest is history.

  50. parasabayan parasabayan

BE, you are entitled to your own opinion and I am entitled to mine. He had a lot of things that he did wrong too.

  51. parasabayan parasabayan

BE, also, it is our culture that a leader has to be able to at least be fluent in English somehow as the elite tend to look up to the President for some guidance in that language. Erap was the topnotch “PINOY JOKES KING”. I hate to bring this up becasue I am one of those who believe that this should not be the case, that education is secondary to someone’s passion to govern but unfortunately, our country has a different expectation. The Filipinos even accept a CORRUPT illegal president but has a DOCTORATE degree and they are willing to watch her destroy the country. But she is LEARNED, they say. It defies all logic but this is very true!

  52. parasabayan parasabayan

OK lang maging KRIMINAL basta may pinagaralan. What a hypocricy indeed!

  53. PSB,

Erap actually speaks good English, better in fact than the Assumptionista, with good diction and all as a matter of fact, but that does not make him a good president.

For me and my friends, he should retire from politics and return to the movies maybe if he wants something to while away his time, and be comatose before he leaves this life.

He can make documentaries like his “Live for the Masses” that has frightened the Malacanang squatters to their wits that they had people watching it go to jail, etc.

Truth is I have a feeling that putting up Erap as the leader of the Opposition is part of the fraudulent schemes of the dorobos to confuse the Filipino voters, for from our point of view, we do not see any advantage of having Erap at the helm of the opposition as a matter of fact.

  54. and not be comatose before he leaves this life…..

  55. I beg to disagree with you again, parasabayan. A Filipino leader doesn’t have to be fluent in English. If this should be the criteria, Noli de Castro and even Manny Villar are out of the race. Lito Lapid should be kicked out from the Senate.
Those congressmen with thick Ilocano and Bisayan accent shouldn’t be in Congree.

But I agree that Erap was with the wrong group of people during his short presidency. Not with his cabinet members most of whom are decent and competent.

  56. The Filipinos even accept a CORRUPT illegal president but has a DOCTORATE degree and they are willing to watch her destroy the country. But she is LEARNED, they say. It defies all logic but this is very true!

You hit the nail by calling them kind of people “hypocrites.” Wow!

Walang isang salita (word of honor) wala pang puri at dangal. Burikak nga e.

    Kawawang Pilipinas talaga!

  57. parasabayan parasabayan

At least Money Villar graduated from UP. Noli was a newscaster, he should be fluent as well. I just do not know the criteria of choosing leaders. It seems like yung maka “masa” eh makamandag talaga!

  58. parasabayan parasabayan

Yuko, when I saw the senatorial line up of Erap which included Enrile(on top of his list), Miriam Defensor(2nd on his list) and Gina de Venecia (wife of the ever corrupt tengang daga who enjoyed the perks while he had it and turned opposition kuno when his son Joey lost the ZTE-NBN deal), I said, WHAT? Is he the TROJAN HORSE NOW?

  59. I have never heard Villar speak in English. Noli? Did you hear him speak in English as Senator and Vice President?

The point is, one doesn’t have to be FLUENT in English as you said. If a Filipino doesn’t speak or is weak in speaking the national language which is Tagalog, then that’s wrong. Just go around the Congress and you shall find many of the solons from the south who don’t speak a bit of Tagalog.

  60. BTW, registration of OFWs for the OAV is going slow because of lack of funds and manpower, and worse, lack of interest among the majority of Filipinos, especially those who have no time to spare to think about the welfare of their country and people.

The usual excuse is “Bakit pa boboto? Unbelievable talaga!

  61. parasabayan parasabayan

BE, it is not just the fluency I am talking about but someone has to understand correspondences and respond accordingly without having to pass it on to someone to do that.

  62. Erap’s senatorial line up is only temporary and I would like it to be revised. Yes, Enrile and Santiago should not be in the list. As for Gina de Venecia, she’s okay. She’s not JDV anyway. What I like about Erap is that he’s considering Gen. Danny Lim and even Col. Querubin in his ticket.

  63. But parasabayan, there are secretaries and assistants to do that for the guy. I don’t think the late Pres. Ramon Magsaysay was fluent in English.

  64. parasabayan parasabayan

Erap, I am sorry to say, to me is becoming more like a nuisance candidate. Tumigil na sana siya. He is sowing more intrigues more than anything. He should just enjoy all his wives, his children, his achievements and watch the sunset. TAMA NA!

I can understand his feeling for Enrile, pero iyong endorsement kay Brenda, unbelievable! Unbelievable katangahan sa totoo lang!

Trojan horse, sabi mo. I feel the same. Whether he knows it or not, he is being used by the dorobos to perpetrate their evil schemes to undermine the intelligence of Filipinos, majority of whom are lamentably as gullible as they seem to be even now. The words in fact is walang kadala-dala ang mga pilipinong nagpapaguyo kay Erap, et al.

  66. parasabayan parasabayan

BE, I like him to be the “father” of the opposition. His senatorial like up in 2007 was so good. I know that he will again have a good line up now for the 2010 elections. Huwag na lang siyang tumakbo. Just give the presidency to someone with fresh ideas. Yng wala ng excess baggage na dinadala. Erap’s reputation is already so bruised. The elite will never respect him. Let us elect someone who can be a conduit to both- the elite and the masa.

  67. parasabayan parasabayan

BE, noong panahon ni Magsaysay, the expectations were not as high as now.

  68. I can understand Erap why he wants to run again. He wants to vindicate himself. He has everything in life and tasted everything the world could give. At his age, all he wants is to clear his name and see if majority of the people still love him. Between a divided opposition with so many candidates some of whom are fake opposition and Erap, I would pick Erap.

  69. Sa totoo lang, maraming grassroot movement leaders who are more qualified to sit in the Senate and Congress of the Philippines because they know the problems and can share better than the personalities being picked up by Erap who are even well-known crooks. Sila ang dapat na ini-scout to help clean up the Philippine government. Ang kailangan lang naman nila tamang incentive, and maybe, right orientation.

Kaya kami dito, we are having our own Opposition line-up. Di na namin dadalhin ang opposition having connection with Erap.

Problema iyong mga unggoy natakot sa lakas ng OFW political power kaya ginagawa ng mga unggoy na supilin sila with new amendments such as disqualification of dual citizens from seeking national position for instance. Iyan ang ulol sa totoo lang!

  70. parasabayan parasabayan

Yun nga ang problema BE, the secretaries are not substitutes. A president should understand everything he touches, sees, hears. He almost have to have a 6th sense as well.

  71. While we’re discussing about Erap and his ticket, the Senate has now shifted to investigate the Dr. Hayden Koh and Katrina Halili scandal. If this happens, the ongoing hearing on C-5 Road scandal and all other past scandals would be overtaken again. The recent “Noodle” scandal has not even been looked into yet.

  72. Parasabayan, the Evil Bitch has all the senses not only 6th sense; yet, what has she done to our country?

  73. BE, noong panahon ni Magsaysay, the expectations were not as high as now.

Nope, PSB, the expectations were as high as now. The only difference was there still was some code of morality people then were holding on although it was starting to erode with the usual graft and corruption.

I was a little girl still then, but I remember my parents discussing politics and the anomalies/scandals on the breakfast table and my mother getting hooked to Rafael Yabut or Arsenio Lacson bombast the issues of the day.

At least, then, freedom of the press was held sacred, and as long as they tell the truth, no one got sued in court for libel!!!

  74. Ooops, grammatical error. This should read, “…and as long as they told the truth,…”

  75. parasabayan parasabayan

BE, would it be vindication or vengeance? Again, do not get me wrong here, I like Erap as a person. I met him several times and I know that he is a very sincere person. But so much has happened to him already. That is all.

  76. Magsaysay was in a way fortunate that he died at the height of his fame, for I doubt if people would have the same awe and respect for him now if he did not with all the graft and corruption, anomalies and scandals being exposed at the time of his death.

One of Magsaysay’s critics in fact was the former mayor of Manila, the fiery and fearless Arsenio Lacson.

  77. Parasabayan, thanks for respecting my opinion. I have a solution for Erap if he wants to run again assuming there’s no legal impediment. He should pick a good Vice President. Then, he should turn over to his vice the presidency after three years meaning they split the 6-year term.

Grizzy, I do remember Paeng Yabut. He was even shot in the mouth and survived. I also remember Damian Soto.

  78. I should add, “Now you tell the truth, but if it can hurt the dorobos in Malacanang, you go to jail!” Yuck! Ang saklap!

Yabut was shot during the Martial Law years right?…cuz I don’t remember hearing about him being the target of assassination when we were still in the Philippines. Ah, those were the days!

  79. PSB,

Give me five! I feel the same about Erap.

Dismaya ako sa kaniya when he agreed to swallow his pride and whatever honor and dignity left in him accepting his guilt even when there was no reason for him to admit he committed plunder for accepting bribed from the jueteng lord, Chavit Singson, just to be free (daw), and now, tell his fans and supporters to elect the very same crooks conniving with the criminal in Malacanang just because they are his personal friends.

    Nakakasuka talaga. Pwe!

  80. I think Yabut was shot before Martial Law. Btw, Yabut was a Kapampangan. I don’t know if he was related to the former Makati Mayor Nemesio Yabut.

  81. parasabayan parasabayan

BE, in fairness, I can settle for the shared presidency. I want to see him prosecute the pandak though. Unless he does not SAY THIS IN HIS CAMPAIGNS, he will not get my vote. He has to openly promise that he will clean up this CORUUPT government. Then I may look the other way.

  82. Among the presidentiables, who do you think will really prosecute the Evil Bitch? I think only Erap will do it.

  83. parasabayan parasabayan

When he initially published the list of his senatoriables, I was dismayed, I also wished that the upright senatoriables will not join his slate. Nawalan ako ng gana. I hope he will revise his list. Faeldon was also on his list. With the questionable death of his wife, I do not know if he should run. That is life that was lost and we do not know what really happened behind the scenes. So many questions unanswered.

  84. Rose Rose

June 7 ang celebration ng Phil. Indeendence Day sa New York City…ang guest of honor daw ay si VP Noli de Castro..ang akala ko na sa show biz siya..bakit sinasabi na hindi siya marunong mag Ingles?

  85. parasabayan parasabayan

Gee, I just read the Inquirer. I was first though to suggest that. I do not cater to the CBCP. To me they are just as evil as the bitch. I lost respect for this religious group in the Philippines. I am NOT missing Cardinal Sin either.

  86. Liwayway-Gawgaw Liwayway-Gawgaw

    Kay ex-Capt Atty Rivas?

  88. parasabayan parasabayan

  89. Liwayway-Gawgaw Liwayway-Gawgaw

    Sobrang asukal ‘yan eh,

Ulser at dayabetis ang bagsak mo n’yan.

  90. Liwayway-Gawgaw Liwayway-Gawgaw

Erap, isang pakiusap.

Sus! Walang take two dito.

    Joke only.

    Anyway, thanks. At least, sosyal.

  92. chi chi

Opinyon ko lang, not even Erap will prosecute Gloria.

Trillanes for president! Ay, wala pa pala sa edad!

  93. Liwayway-Gawgaw Liwayway-Gawgaw

    Chi,

  95. Valdemar Valdemar

A simple solution! Get The NPA run the government, purge all and from thereon we strive to get a better administration.

  96. Liwayway-Gawgaw Liwayway-Gawgaw

    Valdemar,

We are not that frustrated to seek leadership from another oppressor (knowing you have Joma in your mind) as there is no guarantee the CPP/NPA can be an effective tool for change.

    Try suggest another alternative. Please.

  97. bitchevil bitchevil

Who is this Liway-Gaw to ask Erap to retire? Yes, what’s your alternative? Noli de Castro? Bayani Fernando? Teodoro?

  98. iwatcher2010 iwatcher2010

    kaibigang BE,

  99. Liwayway-Gawgaw Liwayway-Gawgaw

What I mean another alternative is a would be leader who will serve the people with all his heart and not exploit and abuse the people’s trust.

A leader who will not acquaint with and distance himself from known undesirable personalities and appoint less qualified to cabinet.

  100. Liwayway-Gawgaw Liwayway-Gawgaw

    Erap for president? NO!

Erap to symbolize the opposition and bring them all together to crush the present delusioned leadership and act as an adviser to the coalition? Yessss!

If the 2010 election was only between Erap and Unana, I’d vote for the babaero anytime. But the coming election, if there would be, is not about Erap nor Gloria, it’s about Pinas’ new beginning (kung sakali).

Oh well, mga tongressmen nga pala sila.

What about you, sino ang iyong napipisil kung ang mga naglilitawang pangalan lang ang choices? Walang dagdag ha? We agree to disagree on our choices, walang singhalan. 🙂

Fake President Arroyo has more than doubled her wealth since she replaced deposed President Joseph Estrada in 2001.

Mrs. Arroyo’s latest sworn statement of assets and liabilities and net worth (SALN) filed with the Office of the Ombudsman on April 30 showed her P44.9 million richer than in the previous year.

Her total declared assets in 2008 stood at P177.179 million but her liabilities in the form of net payables amounted to P33 million, leaving her with P144.539 million.

In 2007, the President’s SALN showed her total assets at P99.616 million, or P11 million higher than in 2006.

When she assumed the presidency in 2001, her declared net worth was only P66.747 million. As president, her annual salary is P693,000.

Her shares of stocks, declared under the category of personal and other properties, stood at P110.437 million last year.

  106. parasabayan parasabayan

BE, huwag kang pikon tungkol kay Erap. Really, with all the BAD press, it would be best for everyone if he will just be in an advisory capacity now.

  107. parasabayan parasabayan

Trillianes will have his time to be a leader. He has the right elements to be one. He has to still be tempered. Masyadong mapusok ang masyadong batang leader. Let us leave the age limit specified now in our constitution. Our elders must have known better.

  108. parasabayan parasabayan

Go figure how many contracts our country entered into so far in almost 9 years. MARAMI!

  109. Boyner Boyner

Bakit?

  110. Boyner Boyner

By the way, I just came across the editorial of Ms Ninez Cacho-Olivares, editor-in-chief and publisher of Daily Tribune which I would like to share with the group:

Why be afraid of Joseph Estrada?

    EDITORIAL

    05/21/2009

Evidently, Malacañang, its allies and too many civil society types, including the Catholic bishops, are scared to death of a return of deposed President Joseph Estrada to the presidency, which is why they argue against his eligibility to run again, or tell him not to run again.

There went Malacañang, saying that the Constitution is iron-clad banning any former President from running again. And there went the airhead spokesman, Lorelei Fajardo, saying that Estrada should run as “Jose Velarde.”

They all fear his running for the top post because they all know that if he runs, there is little chance for their anointed to win the presidential polls.

As things stand, if Estrada is out of the running, the presidential polls would be a race among the weak candidates, which would then give these weak presidential aspirants, especially the Gloria candidate, a good chance of bagging the plum prize, on a minority vote, which would be no different from the 1992 elections, that incidentally was marked with fraud of the dagdag-bawas type, but was not too noticeable since there were too many candidates from whom to shave the votes.

With Estrada running in the race and knowing his popular base, the masses, the weaker presidential aspirants stand no chance of winning the presidency — and they know it.

While the arguments, legal or otherwise, continue to rage, what is not being factored in is the fact that none of those who oppose the second presidential run of Estrada, have the moral ascendancy to prevent his running.

Do the Catholic bishops have even the moral or political clout to tell Estrada not to run again, especially after they actively participated in a highly unconstitutional act in ousting Estrada? And haven’t they said that they would not engage in politics again? Who are these bishops to say who should or should not run, when it is the Filipino people who decide who they want to sit in Malacañang?

Do these civil society types, who come up with their so-called ChangePolitics have that moral or even political clout? Just who are they trying to fool? It was these types that, in 2004 stated that it would be better for Gloria Arroyo to cheat as long as the then opposition standard bearer, Fernando Poe Jr., doesn’t get to sit in Malacañang.

Will they change if Estrada runs? Hardly. They would rather their anointed cheat, as long as Estrada doesn’t get the presidency again.

As for the airhead Fajardo who advises Estrada to run as Jose Velarde, perhaps she can also advise the First Gentleman to run for the presidency as “Jose Pidal.”

What is amusing is the fact that those who say Estrada cannot run again, citing the Constitution, are the very ones who have an eye on the presidency, along with the allies of Gloria.

What is also not being factored in is the fact that this becomes a test case for the Supreme Court, because unlike the other former Presidents, Estrada, serving less than three years, was ousted through a coup d’ etat, as admitted by Gloria herself. And everyone knows that while the Davide Court ruled that Estrada had “constructively resigned,” there is no such mode of resignation in the 1987 Constitution and that the high court came up with that preposterous ruling to justify that which Davide and his justices unjustifably did at Edsa in 2001.

There is always that risk of the high court disqualifying Estrada, since the court is now filled with Arroyo justices who take their cue from her.

But this would be a second injustice dealt by the high court on Estrada.

Still, an interesting question to ask is this: If it was Gloria Arroyo, instead of Estrada, who was in Malacañang in 2000, and was ousted, would these aides and allies of Gloria argue against her eligibility? Wouldn’t they have the same arguments proffered by Estrada?

And, even more important, would a high court rule independently and fairly on Estrada’s case, or would it be ruling along political lines again?

    bitchevil,

Yon lang ang last and final option nya which is to remain in power.
Sounds un-civilized, but what’s the option? We are pushed against the wall!!!!!!!!

  117. bitchevil bitchevil

Right, Erap succeeded in reclaiming the camps of the rebels despite strong opposition from the church. His enemies could not accept that he won the presidency by a landslide. The late Cardinal Sin and shrewd big businessmen wanted him ousted from day one. Add to this were the ambitious police and military officials mostly identified with Ramos.

  118. parasabayan parasabayan

BE, The Tribune had always been a pro-Erap paper. Siyempre, he is always favored.

  119. bitchevil bitchevil

What’s your point, parasabayan? If it is an opposition paper, does it necessarily mean it’s always pro-Erap?

  120. parasabayan parasabayan

I read Malaya and Tribune all the time because I like these two papers. So I know that Tribune always write good things about Erap. I do not have a problem with that otherwise I would not read these papers at all.

  121. These days, the media appears to be friendly to Erap. With the exception of a few anti-Erap writers, many newspapers write favorably of Erap these days.

  122. BE, Erap is not the topic here.

Erap is a good copy but it doesn’t mean most media people will vote for his return to Malacanang. I’m against his running for the presidency.

Please, please stop[ inserting Erap’s return of the come back angle. It’s irritating.

  123. iwatcher2010 iwatcher2010

    nice one ms. ellen…

  124. bitchevil bitchevil

Excuse me, I’m not the only one who starts talking about Erap.
In today’s politics, his name will always be mentioned. Please check all the threads and you shall find Erap’s name inserted one way or another. He has become part and parcel of all these political talks.

  125. bitchevil bitchevil

And whether you guys are for or against Erap…agree or disagree with his running again, his name will always be there.

  126. habib habib

Erap’s name had been part of political history of the Philippines and it will be always there but insisting his comeback bid does not mean doing good to the country.

He’s been brought to Malacanan but did’nt really proved his worth as an effective president. Hate to say this, but what he did primarily was to prove his detractors wrong doing otherwise. Instead of bringing all the pro and against Eraps together on one table, he spent most of his time with his rumored midnight cabinet with dubious backgrounds, and we knew most of them including those who thought would be trusted but betrayed him in the end.

What made him lost most of would-be-won to his side was his “weather weather” lang and “mag-presidente ka muna” sarcastic challenges to whoever criticised him.

Remember one reporter whom Erap said them?

  127. Whatever shortcoming Erap had in the past, I think he has learned his lesson. Erap is typical of most Filipinos following the padrino system. More than his taking advantage of others, he was taken advantage of. If he’s running again, the reason is to vindicate himself and prove that many people still love him. And hopefully, he would make the Malacanang criminals pay for their crimes.

  128. iwatcher2010 iwatcher2010

    Hi ms. ellen…

  129. Liwayway-Gawgaw Liwayway-Gawgaw

    iwatcher,

    Been suggesting that ever since.

Erap can vindicate himself by picking up and endorsing the right opposition standard bearer who would fulfill whatever he was not able to do during his short lived presidency.

More than his clout to the masses, his withdrawal from the race but picking up the best bet will give the opposition a better chance of winning in the coming national election, should there’ll be one than joining a free for all rumble. All he has to do is bring them all together, unite them and arrive to a common consensus.

Sacrificing each personal/political ambition is the main step that can crush the ruling insensitive administration.

  130. iwatcher2010 iwatcher2010

    kaibigang starch…

    NO to trapos sa 2010!

  131. As of now, I think the possible return of Erap has been discussed lengthily. later probably, I’ll do an article on that.

  132. Liwayway-Gawgaw Liwayway-Gawgaw

    Okey ‘yan.

Basta walang pikunan. Walang personalan.

Alam nating karamihan dito ay humanga din noon kay Erap (kabilang ako)dahil sa kabila ng kakulangan niya ng pinag-aralan ay pinagkatiwalaan siya ng taong bayan upang sila ay pamunuan and the rest is bitter part of history.

  133. iwatcher, Malacanang fears Erap the most not only because GMA knows she’s guilty of grabbing the power from him but she knows Erap is very hard to cheat. In 1998, despite attempts to cheat him and apply the Dagdag-Bawas scheme, Erap still won by a large margin.

Liwayway, as I earlier said, if the opposition remains divided and has many candidates, the logical thing to do is for Erap to run in order to neutralize the administration’s tremendous financial resources and political machinery.

Ellen, thanks for your patience and bearing with us in mentioning Erap. Yes, please come up with an article about him even if you don’t agree with his running again. We would appreciate if you could share with us your reasons for not supporting him.
