Last Tuesday’s brazen railroading of the Con-Ass Resolution has erased whatever doubts we have about GMA’s true intention of holding on to power beyond 2010. This is not the first time she has trampled upon the Constitution we have all sworn to follow and respect. The EDSA Dos in 2001 was a coup d’etat that we, as an organization, took part in to oust a duly elected president. The 2004 election cheating, as exposed by the ‘Hello Garci’ tapes, was partly an AFP operation masterminded by the former Chief-of-Staff, Gen. Hermogenes Esperon. Countless other offenses have followed since.
GMA is determined and she will keep on ramming through every perceived obstacle there is, until she attains her much-coveted goal.
Now, only the collective will of the people with the support of the AFP can stop her.
I, therefore, call on every officer and enlisted man to follow your conscience and do what is right – PROTECT THE PEOPLE AND THE STATE!

While we are trying to treat the present sickness- a complication of the underlying cause, may we not overlook the cause why this developed in the first place.
If we have to touch on the issue of the constitution, we then have to settle the issue of the arbitrary replacement of our original constitution. Our original constitution provided us with a basis for our nationhood. Our nationhood provides us a basis for our relationship with one another in terms of our purpose for being a soldier, a lawyer, a politician, a legislature and a Filipino in this country. Without this, we do not have any reason for being in the Philippines other than to gather as much as what we can get from this country for ourselves and our family ONLY.
This is the Alienated Identity and Defense Syndrome. This has become the corrupted genetic code of our people as members of the Filipino society. The bond for one Filipino with another Filipino has been injured. The bond has turned into a vacuum. The vacuum has been filled with individual self out to take advantage of the other.

The Speaker of the House Prospero Nograles and Majority Leader Arthur Defensor have announced that the Constituent Assembly will be convened by July without Senate participation. Then there’s Oliver Lozano filing a petition as if on cue, before the Supreme Court for the nullification of the Constituent Assembly resolution passed just yesterday to fast track the charter change by having the highest tribunal which is packed with Arroyo’s puppets act on it.
There is anger and many anti-Arroyo groups will soon be staging mass rallies and street marches. The transport groups as well as the youth and labor sectors may also join the protests with a nationwide strike. However, the question is, will they lead to Arroyo’s ouster or is this the bait that Judge Lorredo was talking about when he warned that “People power might be interpreted by Malacanang as invasion or rebellion under Sec. 18, Art. VII of the Philippine Constitution.” ?
Right now, the prudent thing to do right is heed the Book of Ecclesiastes: “To every thing there is a season…A time to kill… A time to rend.” Let us remember that the days that follow ignorant and unwise decisions are always filled with grief and remorse. However, we will know that we have reached the point of no return when the naked and vicious power of the treasonous pigs in Congress will be imposed upon us by convening themselves as a constituent assembly. Whatever the outcome of the two opposing views on Charter Change whether to have it before or after 2010 and whether it will be through a Constituent Assembly, the Arroyos will be grinning from ear to ear once the form of government is changed to Parliamentary.
There is no doubt that the same members of the House of Representatives will
run as MPs ( Member of the Parliament ) and basing on the last two elections and how they were conducted, we will see them back in power. How can one lose if he or she has the party machinery, the 3 Gs, a connection with the Comelec and the power and influence of an incumbent ? 18)Sen. Francis Escudero said by approving HR 1109, the House disrespected the authority of the Senate by proposing to unilaterally tackle amendments to the 1987 Constitution.
19)Rep. Edno Joson (Ind., Nueva Ecija) said what the House did was “gang rape” the Constitution which is the fundamental law of the land.
20)Minority leader Ronaldo Zamora said he was distressed “that after such a long process, we should end up like this.”
21)Rep. Carlos Padilla (NP, Nueva Vizcaya) said the House made itself the “worst Congress in the annals of history.”
22)Over 300 workers led by the militant labor group Partido ng Manggagawa picketed at the Batasang Pambansa in protest of the passage of HR 1109.

If she is 4’11” then I’d be 5’9″ at the very least which I’m not (am only a fraction under 5’6) she doesn’t even reach beyond my chin and I’ve got pics to prove it.

I compare this stand/call by Gen Lim to then Colonel de Gaulle’s call to his fellow comrades in arms during WWII to disobey Marshall Pétain, then commander in chief of the French Armed Forces.

Erap ang militar upang supilin ang mga rebelde, but si gloria e ginamit din para maluklok sa nakay na poder ng kapangyarihan at maextend thru hello garci, at gusto pang humirit thru HR1109 pag nalingat ang Pinoy.
Ang pagkakamali ni Pres. Erap naging sobra ang tiwala niya kay gloria na singungaling not once but twice, bakit po di ba sabi niya di siya tatakbo last 2004…eto uli hugas kamay wala daw siyang kinalaman sa HR1109.

Did not Marshall Pétain the head of government of France commit an act of treason by collaborating with the German invasion and occupation of their nation? What the Filipino soldiers among us should have done was to conduct a resistance movement against the GMA government. This is being professional, within duty and nationalistic. Did not GMA the one involved in tampering of election results of 2004 commit acts of treason by collaborating with the American and Chinese invasion and occupation of our defense system, foreign affairs, territories, information and communication facilities, and economic system of our nation? I can ellaborate this with documented sources. GMA is a puppet of the Americans and the chinese.

Allow me to attempt to present my view as objectively as I can (I’m not a Pétainiste):
In theory yes, but in practice, very difficult thin line there. It really depends on which side of the ideological fence one sits…
The principle of “collaborating with the enemy” was proven ONLY AFTER the war; unfortunately, before and during the act of collaboration with Germany, half of the members of the defence staff of Pétain believed that siding with Germany was the best way forward and believed in Hitler’s new world order doctrine. Safe to say that some of them didn’t believe that Germany was the “enemy” in the scheme of political affairs of the time, so how could there be treason?
We should not forget that there was a strong fascism ideology movement that was spreading across Western Europe then even among the most “nationalistic/patriotic of men”, the UK included. That not a few saw nothing wrong with Hitler’s proposed fascim dogma.
This was prevalent in the US too as proven by some of the well-known personalities at the time, eg., their own ambassador to the Court of St James (London), Joseph Kennedy St (father of Pres JFK) and the celebrated Charles Lindbergh, etc. who battled for the US not to join the war and if the US should join the war, it should be on the side of Germany.
Remember, America did not join the war until 4 years later when the war was already raging in Europe. The general sentiment among politicians and the general public right from the beginning was to wait and see who would be the victors.
So, if you take that into account and had Germany triumphed, I doubt Marshall Pétain would have been charged with treason. He was charged with treason (and rightly so but I say that because I don’t believe in Nazism) only after the war when the Axis powers were defeated.
Prayer helps. But it depends on to whom you pray. I’m referring to the Book of Exodus.

I, also in my simple mind believe that the fundamental basis for all our social actions including the legality issues is the ethical values. When the Americans invaded us in 1899, Filipinos among us who resisted them were following our conscience as defenders of our nation and to a certain conscious consideration, our Malolos Constitution. The Americans considered our actions illegal. Even more so when they established a civil government and later different institutions. Now, is such an action like resisting the American government in our nation right or wrong? Does legal issues with regards to resistance even have any relevance or not?
With ethical values, I think the question of whether what one does is right or wrong in most circumstances is clear even at the universal stage.
What is Right or what is wrong! We just have to choose one or the other…but it seems that sa mundo ngayon..Right or Left and In-between too..Kahit anong religion, hindi ba ganoon din..tama o mali? kanan o kaliwa? Who will as BGen Danilo Lim said, “…protect the people…” us, the Filipino people?
Around November of 1924, we tried to setup a legal channel of check points for identifying and assessing foreigners entering our country as part of our defense system of checking further foreign infiltration. However, while our legal check points where still in the setting up stage, the Americans, with their military might providing cover to the Chinese, quickly dismantled them. An editorial appeared on June 5, 1926 in The Tribune. It made a comment regarding: the Chinese making a plaything of our exclusion laws; their out maneouvering us from the start of our border checking operations, making a fool out of us.
We tried strategies based on our present condition to gain control as much area of our nation as we could against the foreigners. The start of our series of manoeuvres thru legal operations with the Retail Trade Nationalization Law in 1954 however, was out-manoeuvred by the Chinese. After we implemented this law, some 8700 of the 10,000 Chinese who rushed to get hold of certificate of Filipino citizenship papers after 1946, did so after 1954. We Filipinos actually overrun previously Chinese-controlled areas the strategic value of which where at most, of low significance. Thus in paper, the number of Chinese registered as engaged in the retail trade was reduced and the number of Filipinos engaged in the same business was increased. In reality however, there was no physical difference. The difference was only in paper.
Many of these Chinese were able to aquire legal documents of being Filipino Citizens in order to make their control of our resources resulting to displacement of us original Filipinos constitutional. It is they who applied what the famous Chinese General Sun Tzu said something like, “…more superior is an Army who conquers cities without fighting…” They conquered our cities without the use of traditional combat weapons. GMA was more than willing to be their puppet government. They have been protected by the laws of the land. They have been protected by the law enforcers of the land. They displaced us Filipinos from our source of livelihood. Do we have a big brother to protect us!

The Senate headed by Enrile agreed to not do anything at this point since they know not where this Con-Ass is going(Hellooo!?). If the House pushes through Con-Ass by July which the Supreme court rules to be legit, the Senate can be fractured between the pros and the cons. Two most influential opposition Senators, Lacson and Villar, are now embroiled in an investigation that will determine their political life rendering them non-factor. The senate then becomes inutile and by virtue of the President’s executive powers, can be dissolved. That leaves the House and Malacanang the free hand to do what they wish.
As for the protesters, the civil society, the militants, the Black and White’s and the People Power advocates, everything is for naught without the AFP’s support.
As for the AFP, the dilemma is always a chance. A chance presents either doom or glory. Doom or glory depends on success or failure after the choice. The first step is choice.

In my humble opinion, because the disgusting hobbit had totally corrupted the professionalism within the ranks of the military, there is a great divide between the resulting un-professional conduct of the corrupt generals, senior officers and the like, as against the new and idealistic junior officers in the persons of Sen. Trillanes et al, who advocate change in the military institution as a whole, but was incarcerated anyway for “not polishing his shoes” or somethinjg like that, I don’t know….I forgot.
Like a computer virus, “half-baked mama’s” stench of corruption has mangled the very core of a soldier’ honor code which is:

defend the constitution of the Republic of the Philippines.

As it is, today’s “gloria-brain-washed soldier” is now defending gloria and not the constitution, is fighting all forces that would destroy gloria, obeys all illegal laws and decrees of his (un)lawful superiors, and will die if need be in defense of gloria. A pledge of love, no less. The people ?? What people ???
As I see it, General Lim’s message will be a wake up call to all soldiery if and only if the officer corps as a whole…………………………….and I mean those officer-graduates of the PMA—————-the very people Juan de la Cruz’s taxes BANKROLLED these officer’s scholarships for————————to be united and be forcefully obligated and committed in their true mandated duties as true soldiers of the republic but without infringing on people’s rights and abusing superior power. And once and for all, the officer corps must be united with one common duty of defense of country, its constitution, and its people, to hopefully send a signal to the corrupt regime that the military is dead serious in cleaning its ranks and be the people’s defenders (and not executioners) once again.
These soldiers will naturally be hard pressed for fear of reprisals from their “COMMANDER-IN-THIEF”. But if the arned forces is hell-bent on bringing back the people’s trust and respect, change should come from within.
The people alone without a true military to defend/back their actions would be a futile attempt to rid the Philippines of incompetence, thievery, summary executions, pangga-gago, kasinungalingan, etc. The military should realize that it is not only the people who were duped by gloria and her cohorts. If they would look more closely, they, too, were made fools of many times over.

Soldiers of the Philippines, look among you !! You are the FEW who are tasked to defend the Philippines against any and all aggressions, domestic or foreign. Had it ever crossed your minds that the few of you are getting FEWER in a battle your corrupted superiors have no intentions of winning ? And even if they did, who do you think has the upper hand ? From where I sit, it definitely is not you. Think about it………

Much as I would’ve liked for that “victory” to be only England’s victory (since half of my family is English and I must confess, am not exactly enamoured of the N Irish or the Scottish), I think we need to be as factual as possible and set the record straight:
Churchill said that during the Battle of Britain in honour of British airmen and not only of English airmen. In essence, the victory you were referring to was in fact a “victory” during a specific battle in 1940 (when the war was not yet over — America had not entered the war yet) and did not only belong to England; that particular victory in battle belonged to the whole of Great Britain.

Biazon, a former Armed Forces chief of staff, said it was a “miscalculation” on the part of the resolution’s proponents to push its midnight passage. He said soldiers who were seeing “a mockery of the Constitution” were asking: “Is this the institution worth dying for, worth protecting?”
He said Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim’s call to action on Thursday was “an indicator” that should not be disregarded.
From his detention cell in Camp Crame national police headquarters, Lim had called on his fellow soldiers to help the people stop the administration from holding on to power beyond 2010.
Biazon said Lim’s statement might not have “weight” today. “But [it will] if civilians translate [it into] action in the streets, like Edsa I and II. Civilians [first], then soldiers will be following,” Biazon said.

Let us inform our relatives and friends in the military and police that Gloria Arroyo and her puppets in Congress will be violating the Constitution if the lower house will convene by itself into a constituent assembly to amend the Constitution. There is also that legal dictum ” Vox Populi est Suprema Lex ” meaning the voice of the people is the supreme law.
