PMA ’78 completes AFP sweep

Erratum:

I removed the posted article because it was full of errors, foremost of which is mistaking Gen. Marayag as belonging to Class ’78.

I asked the Malaya editorial desk how the mistake happened and they said, Victor Reyes’ story was accurate (Marayag was Class ’76). The mistake happened inthe hands of an editor.

I’m sorry for posting an erroneous article here.

I can’t imagine there’s no even one from this 1978 Batch who’s principled and with integrity. The Evil Bitch has bought the entire Batch 78.

  2. chi chi

I see this “completion” as that Gloria Arroyo is hostage of her ‘mistahs’ due to Hello Garci. Ginamit niya ang kanyang mga mistah sa pandaraya e di balik-utang, otherwise…goodbye sistah, magdusa ka!

  3. Isser Isser

Generals Marayag, Gen Victor Ibrado, Gen Maclang and Vice Adm Ferdinand Golez don’t belong to PMA Class’78.

They all belong to PMA Class’76.

Juancho Sabban is the youngest in PMA Class’78. He used to be a RAM member. He is a principled PMAyer and GMA should be scared of him.

  4. bitchevil bitchevil

Not all RAM members are principled. Being from RAM doesn’t make one. Look at the leader, Gringo.

  5. Isser Isser

    Hi bitchevil,
I agree – Not all RAM are principled people. The common denominator among former RAM members is that they are always ready to sacrifice their careers and families for the country. This is the reason dapat matakot si GMA kay
Gen Juancho Sabban’78, Ariel Querubin’79, and Gen Danny Lim’78 — they are former RAM members.

Si Gen Danny Lim’78 is a product of WestPoint(“bata ni Uncle Sam”). Once na mabanas si Uncle Sam kay GMA, for sure gagawa ng scenario yan para supportahan si Lim against GMA.

  6. Balweg Balweg

Well, dito natin masusubok ang katapatan ng class ’78…sa ating Saligang Batas or to their honorary member na si gloria.

If they failed to protect the constitution and the Filipino…wala nang kwenta ang PMA sapagka’t wala silang word of honor?

  7. bitchevil bitchevil

Isser, that’s why FVR was placed as President by Uncle Sam despite the Dagdag-Bawas scheme. It’s only Miriam Santiago who protested. If Ramos is not an Uncle Sam Boy, that election would be similar to Iran right now. And we could even compare it to Marcos who clearly won the 1986 election but the people’s minds were already conditioned by the plotters including US-CIA. Cory was a non-performing President but was allowed to stay despite those several coup attempts by rebel soldiers. All Cory did was pray in the convent, chit chat with Cardinal Sin, play mahjong with amigas and comadres, go after the Marcoses.

  8. Isser Isser

    bitchevil,
Whoever Uncle Sam supported usually nananalo. Way back in 1989 when RAM had a coup and had total control of the AFP and Makati; FVR called President Bush and Bush sent fighter planes to shoot down any RAM controlled hellicopters — that changed the tide of battle.

Isser: kailan pa? US will support GMA as long as they are free to do whatever they can do and use the Phil..Lim or no Lim..sa ngayon they seem to enjoy kissing the con ass of GMA..mabango na mabango kay barak..nakalimutan na ni barak and sinabi niya noong inauguration niya, just as Gloria forgot what she has been saying since naagaw niya ang pagka presidente..”I will not run..” ngayon gaya ng isang asong ulol naglalaway laway sa pag takbo to be elected no matter what, no matter where..mamatay din yon…at dilat na dilat pa ang mga mata..Satan is waiting for them..and they will go to hell..hindi pa pader? Ito kasi ang turo sa amin ng mga madre that if we don’t follow God we will go to hell..or is this a lie? mga madre din ang nagturo kay putot at mayayaman pa! isn’t Assumption the most prestigious school sa atin in terms of money?

  10. bitchevil bitchevil

Yes indeed, US jets were flying all over the skies in Metro Manila. The RAM was more identified with Enrile than Ramos. In 1986 Revolt, they both joined forces to survive. And yes, US copters and Marines surrounded Malacanang during those last hours of Marcos.

  11. bitchevil bitchevil

Rose, despite your criticism of the Catholic Church, Priests, Bishops, Catholic schools like Assumption, you still keep your faith. Bravo!

  12. Isser Isser

    Rose,
I also don’t know when Uncle Sam will react. Alam mo yan si Uncle Sam — sigurista din yan. As long as his vested interests in Pinas are okay and protected, okay lang sa kaniya kung sino ang naka upo sa trono.

  13. bitchevil bitchevil

Washington is currently solving the Iran and North Korea problems so would leave RP’s problems for a while keeping the Evil Bitch. My fear is Uncle Sam could have already allowed the Bitch to remain in power beyond 2010. Remember Erap’s ouster…the US just reminded the plotters to do it according to constitution. Indeed, then SC’s Davide stamped it with approval. Take note of the current scenario wherein the Bitch is using Con-Ass to remain in power. The same reminder Uncle Sam could have given her.

Full force talaga ang ginagawa ni GMA para me gamitin sya this coming election..walang umaangal sa batch na nauna sa 78 ?parang simbilis ng hangin ang promotion eh..

BE: Fr. Larry (an Italian priest, a missionary in the Amazon) forwarded to me a Minda News item about the jatropha (which he said seems successful in Brazil and could be too in the Phil. and asked my opinion.) I understand putot visited Mindanao recently and I will not be surprised if she has this biodiesel idea in her agenda. I have no doubt this could be a success but with putot in the realm..it will only be a venue for more corruption. I have read that there are South Korean investors intrested..could this be why she went to South Korea? nagratatatat ako tungkol sa mga catholic Filipino priests sa atin..Though I never asked Fr. L. whether he is a PIME like those Italian priests who work in Mindanao I have a feeling he is because I get my news from him particularly Mindanao. Foreign missionaries (both catholics and protestants) are more concerned than their Filipino counterparts. Para sa akin maraming Filipino Catholic Shepherds don’t know their flock..they are in a world of their own..

Wala na sa katinuan ang pandak. Wala nang tamang programa para sa bayan. Ang pera ng bayan ay ginawang protection money para sa mga ganid na heneral.Alam ni pandak when she is stripped of her power …barbecue ang labas niya.

    bitchevil,
Col Oscar Mapalo belongs to Class’79. He is one of the best “operators” in the military before. Parang si Boogie Mendoza’78 ng class’78 yan. Masyadong malalim mag-operate –mahirap basahin at discreet. Matagal nang wala siya sa serbisyo.Parang si Gen Boygie Pangilinan’79 yan mag-isip.

Buti naman kay Gen. Sabban nila binigay ang pagiging Commandant of Marines. Siguro natakot si pandak at yung mga alipores nya dahil kung di nila binigay kay Gen. Sabban baka magwala ang buong marines.

I dont agree with your comment about principled RAM members. You do not have to agitate them to something for their country. It is a matter of money not principle. Who ever offers them a big sum they will do things that they dont expect they can do. You have to go to the first Coup against Marcos these alleged principled Ram made a deal with the American representative in GHQ. You do not have to be principled to receive 20,000,000 from GMA.

  23. Isser Isser

    Hi Luciano,
Sorry my friend, I have to disagree. I was part of the RAM during the Marcos time and I can assure you we did not receive a single centavo from the Americans. Because of my principles, I lost my career and family.

  24. Kimchi Kimchi

Mga katotong Luciano Sales at Bernardo Sta. Teresita, like I always say, I may not agree with what one says but I will always defend one’s rights to say one’s peace. But this is my opinion on this matter.

If such is your take about supposed “principled” RAM members receiving money from GMA to the tune of P20M without any hesitation, then let the lawbreakers, este, lawmakers pass a resolution to permanently close the PMA. Imagine, poor Juan de la Cruz, through his blood, sweat, and tears are bankrolling future soldiers of the republic at the PMA only to become MERCENARIES. And if that is the case, then the whole Filipino nation is as guilty as hell for being an accomplice for this debacle. And then we can all say that the people and gloria truly deserve each other.

Maraming makikita diyan.

Buti na lang hindi si Martir. Siguro naisip din nila na Martir as Commandant will create more chaos.

The position was promised to Gen Sabban since last year just to keep him at bay – in May 2008 then Oct 2008 then Jan 2009 now July 2009. Sana totoo na yan.

In anything, there is always an exception. Maski sa gobierno meron din matino kaya lang konti nga lang.

The fact that they were willing to lay down their lives for the country is something not everyone can do. Just like the Magdalo, you only have to commend them para sa pagmamahal nila sa bansa.

Sino sa RAM ang nagkaroon ng posisyon after? Bakit nagkaroon ng 1987 at 1989 coup attempts…

Isser, I think it was Mapalo then who allegedly rescued Tommy Manotoc, Imee Marcos’ fiance then.

Could you share with me the whereabouts of the following officers too: Sam Tucay, Ernesto Ibay, Enrico Salapong.

  32. junsy1951 junsy1951

Ellen, VAdmiral Marayag belongs to PMA Class 76. The brightest in their class. Sayang at hinde nag FOIC, PN.

    Isser,

You know Nognog of PMA Class 80? He’s a Marine.

  34. Enciong Enciong

Hehe! Mabuhay si Nognog!!! Sa kulay at kulay pa lang, Marinong Mandirigma talaga!

    BE,

Yes, si Oscar Mapalo nga yung kay Tommy Manotoc noon.

Sam Tucay, of PMA 78, is with the PNP and an active Christian leader in their Christian fellowship there. Matinong tao yan. Parang Juancho Sabban din yan.

Si Enrico Salapong, the last time i saw him nagsisigarilyo pa rin. hehe! Nasan na nga ba ang mamang yan?

  35. Enciong Enciong

    Junsy1951,

Baka naka-reserve yung FOIC, PN position for Felix Angue, another very bright and capable PMA 78?

  36. Sam Tucay was still a captain then at Metrocom assigned in Binondo, Manila under Gen. Dumpit. Salapong’s latest assignment was as Provincial Director of Pampanga. As 1st Lt, he was under then Col. Santiago Alino of M-3.

  37. Hi Ellen,

Just got back from a defence show and am just reviewing all the past posts. Pity, I didn’t get to read the article here.

“VAdmiral Marayag belongs to PMA Class 76. The brightest in their class.”

I personal never thought Marayag would make it to FOIC from the time he was ltcdr working at GHQ, office of then CSAFP Boy Abadia circa 1993-94. He was much too sedate — a good, meticulous and hardworking desk officer but in my view even then, he didn’t possess the makings of a navy chief. My view of him didn’t change even after his successive promotions.

“Baka naka-reserve yung FOIC, PN position for Felix Angue, another very bright and capable PMA 78?”

On the other hand, Angue, I thought, held promise. He was thought of in high esteem by his previous FOICS from Class 66, 71 & 72 (or rather ’72 & ’71); I too thought that he was bright and articulate and was possibly a FOIC material but because of the bastardised situation in the AFP, I’m not so sure that he deserves to be FOIC.

  38. Re: Once na mabanas si Uncle Sam kay GMA, for sure gagawa ng scenario yan para supportahan si Lim against GMA. – isser

I’m not so sure about that…

  39. If we want to stop the cycle of corruption, we have to stop the national psyche motivating corruption. Love for self more than love for nation is a major factor. No reason to love nation results to corruption. Our identity which we had when we became a nation in 1898 has been cut off from us and made us lose that love for our nation. We lost 500,000 to 900,000 precious Filipino lives in our fierce resistance against their invasion in 1899. We had that before the Americans replaced our institutions with corrupted ones programmed to make us cease love for our nation, be dependent on, and worship our invaders. That program of their invasion succeded for them. That is why in whatever problems we have we always depend on the Americans for a fix.

Artemio Hicban is the current DRDA of Region 6 in Iloilo City and I believe was promoted to Chief Supt, just recently.

SSupt Enrico Salapong is currently with PRO-COR as DRDO.
