Trillanes wants to attend Senate opening

by Ashzhel Hachero

Sen. TrillanesSen. Antonio Trillanes IV yesterday asked Makati Judge Oscar Pimentel to allow him to attend the opening session of the Senate on July 26.

Trillanes’ lawyer Reynaldo Robles also asked that Trillanes be allowed to take lunch with Senate colleagues within the premises of the Senate at the GSIS Financial Complex on Roxas boulevard, Pasay City.

Trillanes said he will abide with the security considerations of his custodian.

Trillanes is detained at the PNP Custodial Center at Camp Crame, Quezon City, in connection with his involvement in the short-lived Oakwood mutiny in 2003.

He was elected senator in the 2007 mid-term election despite campaigning behind bars and with little resources at his disposal.

In November 2007, Trillanes, former Scout Ranger regiment commander Brig. Gen. Danilo Lim led a handful of Magdalo soldiers and civilian supporters in yet another stand-off at the Manila Peninsula to call for the resignation of President Arroyo.

A rebellion case in connection with the 2007 incident was filed against Trillanes and Lim before Makati City Judge Elmo Alameda. – Ashzel Hachero

Following the wordings of the President P-NOY,” Kayo ang BOSS KO, or the electorates who voted him to became president ( almost 15 million votes ), similarly, Senator Antonio Trillanes got almost 11-million votes, having the same BOSS,” ang masang Pilipino “, nagtiwala sa pagbabago sa gobyerno ng Pilipinas, The Senator should be given a chance to attend the Senate Opening. The GMA regime jailed him, as senator for 3-years (2007-2010 ), the remaining 3-years should let him free, to attend in the senate hall for the good of the country and in fairness to the electorates ( the Boss ). His guilt was only to correct the GMA admin in dealing with the corrupt practices in the military, and in the government. He was not even proven guilty ( only being detained ). His righteous military attitudes-characters brought him into complications against
the unrighteous higher command of leadership where he was
posted ( a victim of wrong timing, with wrong leadership ). He had shown coolness, law abiding citizen, and excellent leadership that the country is needed.

President P-Noy and the proper forum of law, under the Makati City Judge Elmo Alameda, should find a way for
Senator Antonio trillanes to serve finally the whole nation,
the Filipino people, the real BOSS ( the power where the
    cause of government begins ).

  4. sychitpin sychitpin

trillianes’s lawyer is a sibling of LRTA Mel Robles, a gma ally who has questionable reputation

You can’t pardon someone who hasn’t been convicted yet. The more prudent thing is for the Trilanes camp to petition the Court for a review of the case. The judge handling it might finally see the ‘light’ in the new dispensation. Or the government prosecutors might be ‘persuaded’ to drop the case altogether but they should not do it in such a way na garapalan otherwise it would run counter to Noy’s pronouncement of fair justice for all. 🙂

Trillianes can be under the custody of the Senate. He is not yet convicted. He WAS just one of the political prisoner’s of the midget.

  7. Oblak Oblak

Kung gusto nya umattend, he can ask the court to allow him.

  8. Why not let him attend the Senate hearing?

Charges invented just to evade the “gentlemen’s agreement” entered into by then Gen Cimatu?

So true. Pardon is only given to the guilty ones, of he is innocent, there’s no need for it, the charges will be dropped…sorry, mabigat naging kalaban mo dati kasi…etc, etc…

I really hope Sen Trillanes would be allowed to attend the opening session of the Congress. I see nothing wrong with that.

Re # 10. Are you sure he’d be voting for Villar? I’ve heard otherwise. You’d be surprised.

  13. kulitus kulitus

re # 12. He endorsed the presidency of Villar during the elections. Is there a sudden turn-around?

  14. There’s no turn-around. The Magdalo’s support for Villar was only for the May elections. Tapos na yun.

I was so disappointed all that time, but deep inside I really hoped it was just temporary…and things will change…and they did…

  17. rose rose

dapat Sen. Trillanes should be allowed to serve his bosses at ating marinig ang kanyang voices….sa tingin ko kasi like Noynoy ang mga tao na bumoboto sa kanya ang kanyang boss…let him work and serve! I would like to see him participate sa Senate investigation kay putot..at doon sa investigation kina Abalos and Neri at si Tabbaboy! kung hindi mamimilibit si Neri at baka siya pa ay mapa…sa tipo ni Trillanes…ay ambot lang…may kalaban sa pagtingin ko kay Trillanes si O my Gal, so very..sana i televise….

  18. Quickwitted Quickwitted

I was wondering, nakakulong sya pero sya yung pangalawa sa senate na pinakamarami “daw” na budget na nagasta…Is this true?

  19. Quickwitted, that issue has long been answered by Sen. Trillanes. Very simple lang.

I’m not sure if he was the one who spent the most but I think it has something to do with travel expenses.

Even if Sen. Trillanes is detained,he is performing his duties as senator. He has an office that does a lot of work to make him fullfill his legislative duties. He has a lot of projects all over the country, not only in aid of legislation, but also public service. That’s where he spent the budget allocated to him.

You can see his projects and accomplishments in his website: http://trillanes.com.ph/

  21. sychitpin sychitpin

maybe Sen Trillanes should give an accounting of his expenses to put this issue to rest

  22. MPRivera MPRivera

    sychitpin,

In his three years as a lawmaker, Senator Trillanes has authored and co-authored a lot of bills that were eventually made into laws. Additionally, he’s got a lot of projects accomplished. Partida, nakakulong pa yan. Yung iba nga malaya and all, walang naipasang batas.

Magbabanggit nko ha GMA FG jocjoc garciliano abalos etc.

  25. MPRivera MPRivera

    aislinn,

Mas marami ‘atang nagawa si Lito Lapid.

Maraming oras ang nagawa niyang itulog.

  26. aislinn aislinn

^^ In fairness kay Lito Lapid he authored/co-authored a number of bills that were made into law. Of course we all know he didn’t actually pen the bills himself. But just the same, he has accomplishments. Nevertheless, that doesn’t make him deserving of his current position.

  27. MPRivera MPRivera

    aislinn,

Being elected as a lawmaker, the likes of Lito Lapid should have his own brain do the thinking not others’ in crafting laws/bills to be passed.

  28. MPRivera MPRivera

    Another thing, aislinn.

Kung totoong merong mga naipasang bills si Lito Lapid, how was he able to defend them in the plenary?

    Onli in da Pilipayns, talaga!
