  1. Mukhang walang may alam saan si Purita Marata.

I remember a PBA basketball player, Ric Ric Marata. Perhaps, the PBA secretariat can at least provide some info on Ric Ric. They’re maybe related.

The local barangay officials may be able to assist her. Maybe even the Mayor of Sison.

sorry for out of topic comment below.blackout aftermath:

electricity is a major cause of poverty in the Phil, primarily due to its extremely high cost. Phil is a 3rd world country, however its electricity cost is even more expensive than 1st world country like America. In America , a family spend an average of US$100.00 or 4, 600.00 pesos monthly for electricity. while a family in the Phil with one air con spend P7, 000.00. Everyone knows wages in America is several times bigger than Phil.

In China, electricity cost an average of P3.50 per KW, compared to P13.00 per KW in the Phil.

Phil has to drastically lower electricity cost in order to reduce poverty, increase employment and improve economy

    Sorry but a bit O.T.

I remembered on a visit to China upon the invitation of a Tsinoy friend way back late 80s, it was in a small village in Fujian where my friend’s grandparents lived. There we met a local old lady named Celia maybe in her 80s already. She said she was a Filipina, which really caught us by surprised. She was after all very “Chinese” to us. Anyways, she recounted to us how she got there. She was about 15 yrs old when a Chinese couple visited them in Cebu. The couple asked her parents if they could hire her to be their househelp and that they’ll be bringing her with them to China. Of coursed Celia resented but she doesn’t had a choice then because her parent’s consented. Upon reaching China, the couple took away her travel documents and forced her to marry the couple’s son. Celia recounted that she was treated well by the family and had accepted her as their own. She eventually had her own family and had grandchildren. She said she is contented and had accepted her fate, but that what she regretted was never knowing what happened to her family back home in Cebu. She said that she had two sisters and that she missed them a lot, that she wanted to see them again before she “go”. She was crying when she mentioned their names which I now can’t recall. Me and my friend tried to ask his grandparents to help Celia, but we were told not to get involved. If only there’s internet and facebook existing then, we would probably be doing what Ms. Ellen is doing to Myrna… helping her locate her sister.

  5. Langhab, thanks for this. I’ll inquire if he is related to the person we are trying to find.
