Ngunit pinatili rin niya si Rosemay “Baby” Arenas, ang napabalitang “special friend” ni dating Pangulong Ramos.
Ang MECO ay isang opisianang tinatawag na gatasan dahil nag laki ng kinikita dyan ng mieymbro ng board. Daang-daang libong piso ang kinukulekta ng mga miyembro ng board dyan.
Hindi nakakapagtaka si Shahani dahil ang alam ng marami na nagsuporta siya sa kandidatura ni PNoy. Napaka-aktibo ng anak niyang si Lila sa kampanya. At ang pamilyang Ramos ay talagang malapit sa Taiwan. Ang ama nina Shahani, si Narciso Ramos, ay dating ambassador sa Taiwan nang hindi pa tayo “One-China” policy.
Ang nakapagtataka ang pagpanitili ni Arenas dahil alam naman ng marami na dikit na dikit sila kay Gloria Arroyo. Di ba ang anak niyang si Congresswoman Rachel Arenas ay walang absent sa lahat na biyahe sa ibang bansa ni Arroyo. Wala siyang paki-alam na galit ang taumbayan sa pagwawaldas nila ng pera sa pamamasyal sa ibang bansa.
May nagsasabi na may kinalaman si dating pangulong Ramos sa pagpanatili ni Arenas sa MECO board. Hindi raw matanggihan ni PNoy si FVR. Maari.Ngunit alam ko marunong talaga magmani-obra si Arenas.
Kaya ngayon magkasama sina Shahani at Arenas sa board. Magbabantayan ba sila o magkampihan?
May kasabihan ang mga matatanda sa probinsiya na kapag nag-aaway ang mga magnanakaw, nababawi ng magsasaka ang kanyang baka o kambing. Sa probinsiya kasi ang ninanakaw ay mga hayop. Baka o kambing.
Hindi ko alam kung sadya na naglalagay si Pangulong Aquino ng mga bloke-bloke sa kanyang pamahalaan para magbantayan. Alam na ng halos lahat ang away ng grupong Balay at grupong Samar.
Na-isulat na ang kasaysayan ng away ng Balay at Samar. Noong kampanya ang grupong Balay ay “Noy-Mar”- si Aquino ang president at si Mar Roxas ang bise presidente. Ang Balay ay kinabibilangan ng Liberal Party at ng mga miyembro ng cabinet ni Arroyo na nag-walk out nang lumabas ang “Hello Garci” tapes kung saan nabulgar ang kanayng (Arroyo) pandaraya noong 2004 na eleksyun.
“Noy-Bi” naman tiket ng grupong Samar noong nakaraang eleksyun naman ay nagsuporta kay Aquino para president ngunit si Jojo Binay ang bise. Kasama dito sina Sen. Chiz escudero, mga kamag-anak ni Aquino, at ang mga kaibigan nyang sina Jojo Ochoa na ngayon ay executive secretary.
Nagbabantayan nga. Nakakabuti ba o nakakatulong sa bayan?
Kung ang bantayan ay management style ni PNoy, hindi nakakabuti sa bansa at mamamayan. Ang nagiging projection sa tao ay weak ang leadership at kayang-kaya sya ng mga tauhan.
I wish for a news on one special day when PNoy would summon the people around him and give order to get their acts together in place, shape up or get out! Kapag yan ay kanyang nagawa, kahit sino pa ang tamaan, I’d say hindi sya luya, and would shout “Allelujah”!
Ang bantayan as management style reflects weak leadership. Wala nang iba. It was Noynoy’s idea to have 2 factions in his administration. Meaning, he was confident in the beginning na he could control and manage these 2 factions. Surprised! Wala pala syang guts! Worse, we’ve seen the reverse happening. These 2 factions are actually the ones controlling Noynoy, else, why would there be such chaos in Malacanang? Why is it that Noynoy is constantly defending their twisted behaviours? Di ba it should have been the other way around?
Bilhan nyo nga nang libro si Noynoy and give him a reading assignment. Maybe he’d learn something from Jack Welch on how to manage an organization! Hmpt!
Well, problema na nila yan…but ang punto dito e magsipagtrabaho sila ng maayos kasi nga pera ng bayan ang ipinasusuweldo sa kanila.
Ngayon, kundi nila aayusin ang kanilang respective duties e sibakin yan…para ano to keep them sa posisyong yan kung pabigat lamang sa gobyernong PeNOY.
Kaya di umunlad ang Pinas e ugali-asal ang pinaiiral…at di magsipagtrabaho ng maayos, sibakin kung parang aso’t pusa e ang dami namang qualified na Pinoy to handle and work for the best of our country di ba.
I wouldn’t accuse both factions of thievery yet. What we only want are competent officials and a Presidency characterized by statesmanship. But what we are getting are pathetic amateurism and inability to shoot straight.

Incompetent Aquino administration is yet to be seen. At least in my perspective. Many that I witness in the past i consider “chipping in on his administration credibility.” What I see now are a bunch of influential people exerting influence on Pnoy to position themselves. These are against what the people would like to see if Pnoy gives in. He may need to resist this if he want’s Good Governance to thrive. I guess this complicates his ability to push his agenda given the many things he needs to address but I do believe 15 million who voted for him is clear with what they want. I do believe if Pnoy follows the peoples wish he won’t be alone. Many will be with him no matter what. Question now is can Aquino administration deliver given the complication of having many arroyo appointments in the judiciary?

Incompetence breeds corruption on top of mediocrity. I am surprised some people do not see that. One doesn’t have to look beyond the first Aquino administration to verify the fact.
On another topic– I am elated Manny Pacquiao won his 8th title. A refreshing development considering the recent black eyes the country received, dealt no less by the current administration. Mabuhay Pacquiao! Mabuhay Pilipinas!

And your benchmark is the “competence” showed by the Arroyo administration? In your apparently deficient sense of history, can you look for which administration that was less mired with corruption?
I know both ladies very well. Sen Shahani is a brilliant woman with a subtle mind and well suited for the job. Baby is a kind person. Some people might underestimate her for the glamour she projects but but beneath that made up façade is a willful and no-nonsense mind.
Di ba kapatid ni FVR si Shahani? And Baby Arenas is close to FVR’s heart…heh,heh,heh. Siyempre, for the sake of FVR, they will be cordial to each other, ideally.
