Malacañang must be sensing that the candidacy of Sonny Trillanes is taking off, despite his absence in the campaign trail and lack of resources. Now, they want him isolated from his campaign leaders and supporters:
Genuine Opposition (GO) spokesman Adel Tamano yesterday criticized government and the military for imposing more restrictions on detained Magdalo core leader Antonio Trillanes IV.
“We’re concerned na naghihigpit sila. Why? Because he’s a GO candidate and is doing good in surveys?” he said in a media briefing at the GO headquarters in Mandaluyong city. “He’s not even physically out there campaigning.”
Tamano said Trillanes has not been allowed to receive visitors other than family members.
“That’s unlawful, unconstitutional. The law is clear that (while in detention) you can see your friends, lawyers aside from relatives,” Tamano said.
The ban covers Trillanes’ campaign leaders and supporters who are mostly friends and relatives of other detained Magdalo soldiers.
Trillanes, a Navy lieutenant, was dropped from the rolls after he filed his candidacy.

Hindinapinoy, you will never understand the frustration of these soldiers unless you have someone like them in your immediate family. These soldiers are out in the grassroots, out in the areas you and I may not even dare go. More than half of them are living on the poverty line, no decent homes. Some of them can not even afford to send their children to school. Yet, these soldiers know that the Armed Forces of the Philippines always get some kind of “modernization funds” but these funds always find their way in their superiors pockets. Promotion is always a bata bata system. Look at Assperon. He may be a National Science graduate before he entered the PMA but his leadership skills are that of a gestapo. He thinks that he is the “Hitler” of the Philippines. His leadership is lopsided-just to protect tiyanak, that is it! He does not understand the sentiments of his underlings.
Lim and Querubin went to Senga to voice out the sentiments of their junior officers after they were widely used in the cheating operations in the 2004 elections, look where they are now! So HNP, if a responsible officer sees that nothing is being done to address their issues using the right channels, if you were in their shoes, would you have resorted to the same tactics to get the attention of those above you? I read earlier that soldiers are being deployed in the squatter areas of Tondo, etc… to intimidate some party list candidates and their following. I can smell trouble brewing. If tiyanak and her minions can no longer cheat in the upcoming elections, they may altogether sabotage the May election and make it into a bloody one or create chaos in areas they perceive defeat so they can rig the votes in those areas to guarantee their victory. This is how the tiyanak and her minions work, by sheer intimidation!

I, for one, was disgusted to see those Philippine soldiers carrying toiletries for some US soldiers in the Balikatan in exchange for a few dollars! Tongue na, parang mga tsimoy ang itsura.
Then, there was the picture of some official in the AFP being carried piggy back by a low-ranking soldier. Dito sa Japan iyan, katakot-takot na batikos ang aabutin ng animal na opisyal na iyan,because over here ranks do not count. Respect is earned by first acting respectable and showing one deserves it.
One thing sure, though, is I am proud to know that a relative of mine has gone up the ladder in the AFP through the usual way, and there apparently is now an attempt to discredit him by some ass-licker coveting his position. Huwag nilang gagawin iyan kasi great grandnephew siya ni Antonio Luna, the pharmacist turned general who proved his gallantry and bravery during the fight for Philippine independence against Spain. Journal and Malaya both carried a report of Joma having a grand time in The Netherlands last December. While parts of it may be true, the item failed to report on the occasion in its entirety. It was a Christmas party but it did not say whether Joma hosted it. I went to the website to check the photos. Yes he was dancing with Ara Mina but the report did not mention that it was a party of the Filipino community. Present were migrant workers and also present was the ambassador of the Philippines. I don’t think the ambassador would attend a party hosted by the enemies of the state. Bacarro’s report is therefore misleading and very inaccurate.
I am no Joma fan but I would like the people to know the truth. Bacarro obviously is trying to hoodwink the readers. A cheap shot for someone who paints himself as a professional. But I suppose that’s his job, to misinform and to cover up the shenanigans of the AFP. I suppose he just trying to justify the expensive parties and conferences of the AFP.
