Kailangan na kailangan ni Gloria Arroyo mapalitan ang Constitution para masiguro niyang hindi siya maparusahan sa kanyang ginawang pandaraya noong 2004 eleksyon at sa kanyang pagnakaw ng pera ng taumbayan para manatili siya sa kapangyarihan kahit hindi siya binoto ng taumbayan.
Sa plano kasi nila kasama ni House Speaker Jose de Venecia, mawawala ang Senado na siya na lamang ang natirang institusyon ngayon hindi niya maku-kontrol. Maa-ari rin siyang manatili sa Malacañang habambuhay. Wala nang term limits.
Kailangan kasi ni Arroyo na palagi siya sa kapangyarihan para makontrol niya ang pera ng bayan dahil kug wala siya noon, tatalikuran na siya ng kanyang kasabwat sa krimen na kanyang ginawa sa bayan. Kaya naman siya ngayon kinkampihan dahil busog ang mga yan. Kung wala na si Arroyo pambayad, maniniwala ka ba namang papansinin siya ng mga nakapaligid sa kanyan ngayon lalo pa ang mga nasa Kongreso?
Kaya hindi naman nakapagtaka na ang priority ng bagong secretary ng Department of Interior and Local Government na si Ronaldo Puno ay charter change. Alam naman natin ang reputasyon ni Ronnie Puno bilang operator.
Kaya siguro kailangan tanggalin si Reyes sa DILG dahil hindi siya kasing-galing ni Puno sa ganitong klaseng operation. (Ito naman si Reyes, hindi mo alam kung maawa ka o mainis. Parang pamunas na ang trato sa kanya, ayaw pa rin tumiwalag kay Arroyo.)
Sabi ni Puno sa kanyang press conference, aasikasuhin ng ang kanyang partidong KAMPI (Kabalikat ng Malayang Pilipino) ang pagkuha ng 195 na pirma ng mga congressman para sa charter change.
Ang numero na 195 ay three fourths ng lahat na miyembro ng House of Representatives at Senado. Kung boboto bilang isang grupo lang. Yan kasi ang gusto ng Malacañang dahil kung magkahiwalay na botohan, walang mangyari sa Senado ang ChaCha.
May kaso pa sa Supreme Court ang ganitong kalseng botohan. Kung sa bagay, kaalyado naman ni Arroyo si Supreme Court Justice Artemio Panganiban kaya hindi malayong makuha ng Malacañang ang gusto nila.
Sabi ni Rep. Roilo Golez, malabong mangyari ang gusto ni Puno. O baka naman babaha ulit ang pera sa Kongreso katulad noong oras ng impeachment.
Kung makuha nila ang Supreme Court at Kongreso, ang susunod na assikausin ay ang taumbayan na kailangan mag-apruba ng ano mang charter change sa pamamagitan ng plebiscite. Kaya kailagngan dito ang galing ni Ronnie Puno sa DILG dahil local governments ang kailangan paandarin.
Kailangan ni Arroyo bilyun-bilyun para pambili sa kongreso, mga gubernador, mayor, barangay officials at taumbayan. Kaya ang koleksyon sa EVAT ay mahalaga.
Kaya rin sinasadya ng Malacañang hindi ma-ipasa ang 2006 dahil kapag re-enacted budget kasi ang umiiral, ibig sabihin ang budget noong 2005 ang basehan ng pagpalabas ng pera, mas madali ni Arroyo manipulahin ang pagpalabas ng pera.
Bulag at bingi yata sina Arroyo sa mga babala na umiinit na ang sitwasyon at kunting siklab lang, liliyab na ang poot ng taumbayan.

I read a lot of your column in Abante website and everytime I read ,I felt the pain of having a popular news writer in your person who makes a lot noise against the president.

Gloria’s fatman husband actually filed a case against her in 2004, so don’t you worry, Gloria and her greedy husband can file lawsuits after lawsuits against Ellen if they truly feel indeed aggrieved or slighted but I don’t believe those lawsuits will prosper because Ellen is telling the truth whereas Gloria and her husband, her family of thieves are known to have lied, are lying and are expected to lie through and through.
But allow me to comment that Gloria Macapal has unlimited freedom today to do as she please more than the millions of the very impoverished Pinoys and Pinays, 75 of whom lost their freedom to live in Ultra just because they wanted to ‘grab’ the opportunity to win a few pesos.
Gloria has had freedom and still has the freedom to steal from government coffers to distribute overpriced fertilizers as bribes; she’s had the freedom to corrupt members of the AFP in order to ensure her staying power in Malacanang; she’s been free to steal the money that the Philippines recovered from the Marcos loot and intended for our poor in order to achieve her ambition to stay in Malacanang; she’s been given the freedom to declare that she would stand down from the 2004 election because she freely said that she was the single most divisive reason in the country yet she was accorded the freedom to break her word of honor – many said she freely lied when she said that; she’s got the freedom to lock horns with Congress in defiance of all that is politically correct and politically moral; she’s been free, free all this time to do as she please, even to dismantle the institutions of our Republic so that she could stay on, hang on to power that is not hers by moral nor legal right…

Journalists like Ellen believe that the way to help the nation is to expose the wrongdoings of the administration. In doing so, these wrongdoings are corrected, or at least steps are done to do so.
How about us? What are we doing to help our nation? I’m sure Emilio does his part too.
the fight against arroyo’s illegitimacy is about who can convince the other side’s supporters to give up — if the arroyo admin manages to demoralize the anti-Arroyo groups, mananalo sila. OTOH, if we manage to demoralize the remaining civil society supporters of this admin (i believe that includes the CBCP), babagsak ang admin and justice will prevail.

I for my part, will never accuse even the most rabid of Arroyo supporters of not doing something for the nation. The fact that we might find ourselves in opposite camps do not mean that we, or those who find ourselves opposing the illegitimate presidency of Gloria, have the monopoly of serving the nation.
That we may all express ourselves in a bellicose manner against one or the other does not necessarily translate into US vs. THEM kind of thing because fundamentally, WE are ALL Filipinos; to me it is really US ALL COMMPON PINOYS & PINAYS vs. GLORIA and her family of thieves and against her overall government of the corrupt.

You put it ever so well…I believe that’s why we are all trying to do our bit even by blogging, hoping (perhaps, beyond hope) to make the Arroyo believers and supporters to come to our way of our thinking.
I would like to think that Filipinos love their country. It’s just that country is not the number one love.
Look at Gloria, is she an evil woman? Or just another Filipino who loves the country and want to change it her own way? People who believes in her would choose the latter. People who oppose her thinks that she’s just evil. Or lesser evil, because she only cares for herself and her family (does that include the FG?).
People who likes Gloria sticks with her because they think that she still can turn the country around.
People who don’t like Gloria don’t want to give her that chance. One reason is there are some proofs that she has done some really bad things, and still doing more bad things to protect herself. (In this post, Ellen says that Chacha cannot save her).
I happen to be with the latter group. I love my country, and I like to see things done differently than how Gloria is doing it presently. Blogging forums has given me power to express my opinions, and if given a chance, I’ll do more.

Journalists are our eyes and ears in the world around us. They feed us information which they think and believe to be true. However, sometimes, we don’t trust our senses and go to the gut-feeling, which normally turns things upside down and we end up more confused. My advise to those who doesn’t subscribe to Ellen’s line of thought is to do research and prove her wrong. She, along with many, including me, would like to see your arguments and would be very happy to share healthy competitive analysis. Without this, however, comments are just words written in vain.

Eto ang two centavos ko tungkol sa posters na gaya ni emilio. Para sa akin ang dapat na pagtrato sa kanila ay gaya ng ginawa ng mga posters sa unang response sa “Simula ng pagkakaisa” topic–completely na binale-wala. Sa palagay ko ay aksaya lang nga panahon na sagutin ang mga ganyang posts. Of course, preference ko lang ito, at wala akong nais na pigilin ang sinumang gustong sumagot kay emilio.
Gaya rin nating mga kumbinsido na dapat mapaalis si GMA sa trono, yung mga bilib sa kanya ay mahirap or almost impossible na makumbinsi na talikuran siya (at least habang nakaluklok siya). BRAINWASHING can work if only good information will be given and bad information can be suppressed . This is no longer possible in our age of INFORMATION & COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY. There is now no way that government can stop the free flow of information through the internet, especially the blogsphere.
The government thought that they succeeded in establishing in the minds of people that there was no EDSA-3. That it did not happen. ABS-CBN and Channel 7 ignored the massing of people at EDSA for four nights. Information was suppressed and the right to know were denied the people. Merong nangyayari na e ayaw nilang ipaalam sa bayan kasi kampi sila ke GLORIA. They did not cover the event, even as there were easily a million people there each night, inspite of the efforts of the military and police to harass and stop people coming from the north and the south of Luzon.
EDSA 3 happened and it will never be erased from the minds of people who went there or those who watched by means of the only TV station that covered the events until military tanks stopped them from broadcasting. If one counts the number of people that came in and out for four nights at EDSA-3 it will reach TWO MILLION PEOPLE. And those 2,000,000 will never forget no matter what brainwashing is done
Why are these people not coming out like they did in EDSA-3? Sapat na sa amin ang makitang nagsisisi ang mga nagluklok kay Gloria. Sapat na sa aming inaamin ninyo ang inyong pagkakamali. BFRonquillo is absolutely right to remind us of Edsa III which I had described in one of my earlier postings here as the TRUE BLOODY COUP D’ETAT by the civilian sector of the population which would put to shame the so-called ‘bloody coup d’etat’ by Gringo and his armed men during the Aquino administration.
My brother was there at the time and wrote me a chilling blow by blow account of what happened. I was stunned. Never mind if the mainstream media depicted Edsa III as composing of the hakot crowd. Never mind if they belittled the courage of that ‘hakot crowd’ (Even Teddy Benigno maligned them in his column in the Philippine Star). They were callous, envious, jealous of the courage that members of the so-called E-class demonstrated! To me, the Filipinos who staged Edsa III belong to a much SUPERIOR class that many of us can never, ever aspire to belong to…
I never for a moment believed that people who stormed Malacanang to do Edsa III belonged to a “hakot” crowd as in paid crowd! What hakot crowd would brave Malacanang’s gunfire? What “hakot crowd” would climb those barbwires, military barricades and face Malacanang’s armed troopers? What “hakot crowd” would bodily storm the gates of Malacanang knowing they’d be savagely beaten by the PSG? NO! Those people couldn’t have been a “hakot crowd” – they were there because they weere angry, they’d been maligned, cheated, abused by the power grabbing perverted Gloria and her husband! They were the forces of Edsa III.
They might have failed but BFRonquillo is absolutely correct to say that the people who died in Edsa III should NOT BE FORGOTTEN! They were the bravest of the brave. It’s time we gave credit where credit is due. (Bonifacio’s may be deemed to have personally failed in his bid to lead the Philippine Revolution because he was murdered but his untimely death didn’t stop the Philippine Revolution from happening nor did it stop us from hailing him a Philippine hero.)

Look guys, in some other countries, it took them a long time before the “amendment”, i repeat, amendment in their constitution could take effect, while here in the Philippines, were talking about months to change the system of our government, I repeat again, change the system of government. For crying out loud, these people thinks that they are the only bright citizens of this country. E kung ang problema nga ng bansa d nila maayos-ayos kasi nga pulos pang sarili lang ang iniisip nila. What do they think of us stupid??? i dont know with other people, but pls call a spade a spade.
I say we call for a snap election election first and then we move forward.

The way I see it, this is a process of self destruction. It seems, every move of d’glue makes the noose ’round her her neck tighter and tighter. JdV should have no problem rounding up his rah rah boys, the same ones that beat the impeachment rap. d’glue just don’t get it. Had she spent all those bribe money developing jobs, she could be president for life. All that money could have been used for constructing jails in every municipality. This will generate millions of jobs and generate income too. The jails are for the crooks. Tourism will be enhanced if a crook like pidal will be on display for tourist to see.

We have to show these so called “congressmen” of the LEPECHAUN and YODA that the best is to have a snap election and then we move forward. ANyway, they claim that the LEPECHAUN won the last election, isama n nya si de castro na walang alam at takot, nung panahon nya kasi sa dos tirada sya ng tirada. Dapat lahat, ke senador o congressman dapat lahat magbitiw for us to have a snap election and for us also to choose our new leaders

Why JDV rush to amend the Constitution.. he want to be PM instantly. Hindi siya mananalo pagka-pangulo ng Pilipinas.. malansa pa sa isda si JDV.. Those Tongressmen with the leadership of Jose De Venecia are all crook to rush in amending the Constitution. The Constitution is a legal document not living organism like them to suite their respective caprice or selfish motives. Only in Philippines happnen.
