Col.

Tama si Defense Secretary Avelino Cruz sa pagtawag kay Esperon na “poster boy for no coups in the Philippines.”

The above artice was less than accurate. Marcos did not escape. He was forced to leave Malacanang to avoid bloodshed. He was deceived by the US into believing that he was to be taken to Paoway, Ilocos; but it turned out to be Hawaii. His security men were disarmed upon boarding the plane. Like Panama’s Noriega who was kidnapped by the US Marines, Marcos was forcibly driven out of Malacanang. “Escape” was not in Marcos’ vocabulary.

  2. Ellen:

When we went to visit Marcos in 1986 after he and his family were airlifted there against his will, I asked him why he did not use the military still loyal to him, and he said emphatically that he did not want to shed innocent blood. Until death, his favorite quote had been, “History will be kinder to me.”

Years later, I was told of the real story about their flight to the US. They were duped into believing that they were being flown to safety but not out of the Philippines, so all these talks about Marcos asking for asylum in the USA is bullshit. There was not even a motion for it.

The truth was they were reportedly having dinner when the palace was thrown some teargas bomb, and they heard gun shots. Then, all of a sudden they were surrounded by US troops from then Clark Air Base, and were told to board a helicopter as they try to keep awake and being suffocated by the smoke of the teargas bomb. Everything was blurred and before they knew it they were heading for Guam and to their final destination, Hawaii.

The Apo was just too sick to even try, and I bet you he was aware that he was dying especially after learning of his mother’s death that was enough grief to kill a very sick man.

Whatever he did wrong to his countrymen, he has paid for it, especially when all the sins of his countrymen are hurled at him even when he had nothing to do with their personal graft and corruption. He may just well say, “Let the sinless cast the first stone.”

All these attempts to compare the Bansot with him, I say, it is bullshit and achieve nothing, because there is no comparison. One thing I can attest as a blood relation of the late dictator is that none of our relatives on his father’s side was benefitted by his position although I bet you that loyal most Ilocanos are known for, they stayed loyal to him to his death despite the black propaganda that made him look like an abominable ogre.

There is no comparison. For one, Marcos was a genius, and as his critics even now say, had a vision of a great nation! The Bansot only envisions herself sitting at some august throne at the palace by the murky river, and nothing more regardless of who gets hurt or killed in the process.

I am saying this not because the Apo was my uncle, but as a historian trying hard to see where Filipinos have gone wrong that this dream of greatness has in fact turned into a nightmare with ALL presidents of the Philippines conceived as robbers and thieves!!! I don’t understand why anyone over there would even ambition to be one of them robbers and thieves!!! Yuck!!!

  3. I agree, Ellen, that anything evil should have its end.

I, myself, thought Marcos should have been wiser to stick to the old Constitution and to being the ONLY president of the Philippines reelected to office with all that he had accomplished that would have made him the greatest president the Philippines had ever had, but then, let’s face it, he was surrounded by vultures who took advantage of his illness and the gullibility of his wife, who must have had her lessons in corruption from her own kin who were great politicos in their province of Leyte.

Still, I agree that there should have been a fair trial even of his wife and children even to ironically clean up his name, and prevent these fools and crooks in the Philippine government from blaming him even for the graft and corruption they continued to perpetrate after 1986.

Graft and corruption are not a Marcos invention. They have been part and parcel of dirty Philippine politics from time immemorial.

As a child, I remembered in fact the conflicts then Mayor of Manila, Arsenio Lacson, had with the corrupt and incompetent presidents of the Philippines, including Ramon Magsaysay, who could have been relegated to oblivion if he did not die before his time. He would talk about it in his daily program called “In this Corner” that my parents loved to listen to.

For one, the former Mayor of Manila was a very close friend of my father, who remained loyal to the good mayor till the mayor’s death. Despite his infamous philandering, the Mayor was considered an ideal candidate for president. Sayang namatay!

It is not surprising for Esperon to say something like that. After all, he is clearly aware of precedents in Fidel Ramos and Juan Ponce Enrile.

After immediate members of the household, guard dogs and attacks dogs on the perimeter are in the next best position to assault their master.

Besides, like Ramos and Enrile, a coup carried out under the right circumstances and with good timing may be Esperon’s step towards obtaining absolution from a very patient and forgiving people.

After all, apart from cheating in the elections, Esperon does not seem to be accused of anything equal to or worse than the crimes Ramos and Enrile have been accused of during their incumbency in the martial law years.

Esperon appears to be testing the waters already. Perhaps, he himself has doubts about the extent of his usefulness to his master. He knows that same information that he possesses that could destroy his master at this time will eventually compel his master to destroy him.

Still, a coup is not the way out, it is the way to more travails. Support instead constitutional means of changing the leadership, without changing the constitution itself in the process.

Will we never learn? Our present circumstances started with a coup carried out by the “people” to remove a sitting president.

The Filipino people have become a nation so obsessed with salvation and so infatuated with saviors that they have forgotten how to save themselves.

I would agree with Mr. Ystakei this time about Marcos. A common friend knows these journalists namely: Ruben Ilagan, the late Rod Navarro and Ka Totoy Talastas. The three were regular visitors of Marcos in Hawaii. In one meeting, one of the journalists presumably this Totoy asked Marcos point blank why he didn’t order the attack on those gathered at Edsa. Ka Totoy boldy criticized Marcos saying “Sir, we know you to be very smart and wise. But, you made a big blunder by not dispersing those crowd at Edsa.” Marcos replied: “If that would happen again, I would still refuse to hurt the people. If I ordered the attack, many would be hurt and killed.” If the above statements were true as narrated by my friend who knew the above journalists, then history would indeed be kinder to Marcos. Now, do you guys think this Gloria would be like Marcos if her presidency is threatened?

An analysis of Marcos’ life would reveal that the one guilty of corruption was not really he but Imelda and her family. Not too many negative news we heard about the side of Marcos. His brother Dr. Pacifico Marcos was a prominent doctor. On the other hand, the Romualdez was known to be similar to the Arroyos today. Corruption was rampant on Imelda’s side. People used to call her brother “Bejo”, short for Benjamin Romualdez. In her time, those close to her were rewarded with juicy positions and material things.
What we see in Gloria today is exactly what Imelda was when she was in power. Even actor Eddie Gutierrez was made as Ambassador to Spain. There was also a group called the “Blue Ladies” who followed Imelda everywhere she went. Today, GMA has a similar group who cheered for her during the impeachment hearings. This group composed of matronas are mostly her classmates and friends at Assumption where she graduated. Now, why did Marcos allow Imelda to do her thing? It was partly or mainly due to Marcos’ womanizing. Imelda’s behavior changed significantly after that famour Dovie Beans sex audio tape scandal. Marcos had a strong appetite for girls. Ernie Maceda who was once Marcos’ Executive Secretary was reported to be his pimp or “Bugaw” in Tagalog. It was also reported that Maceda was the one who spread that “Dovie Beans” scandal. Fearing for his life, Maceda left for the US. While in US, Maceda had to live an ordinary life as an insurance salesman. With Marcos’ reputation for girls and sex, this then was used by Imelda as leverage for her own personal selfish plans. Imelda then became so powerful that Marcos could no longer control. The rest was history.

  7. For all that Enrile is, I respect this old man. It is just too bad that he would allow himself to look like some stupid fool, even aligning himself with the worst president the Philippines has ever had.

It’s amazing how a man of such brain and stature as he has would even contemplate doing a Brenda! I wonder what makes these great men to give in to the temptation and allow themselves to be persuaded to do what their conscience, if they have one, will dictate is wrong and condemnable even by Philippine standard, where a violation of the law is not a crime if you can get a lawyer who can circumvent the law!!!

The Apo, BTW, forgave him but he was wise not to attend the Apo’s funeral, but he did send his wife. I just don’t know if he died still bearing some grudge against FVR, who was a relative of his on his mother’s side.

  8. One thing wrong with the Philippine system is that only those who know how to sipsip are the ones who get to the top. All the rest are relegated to mediocrity. No wonder, a lot many Filipinos would opt to go overseas where they can find their niche and make good use of their talents and thereby gain some self-respect that they are denied back home.

Take the case of these doctors opting to go overseas as nurses, attendants, caregivers, and even janitors, or teachers going to Hong Kong for instance to work as domestic helpers. I have difficulty understanding why they should degrade themselves doing so?

But look who’s sitting in high positions in the government—wannabe criminals who cannot abide by the law not just of the Philippines but also of other countries like how Bolate tries hard to circumvent US law even by “palakasan”! Tarantado talaga!

Thank, God, that at least, even when the US has also a moron for a president, Americans in general still follow the rule of law. No dice and no deal! Mabulok si Bolate!

Now, we wait how the slowpokes in the Philippines get rid of these criminals leading them. Meanwhile, we beat our drums overseas and cheer them brave ones!

Hello Garci’ officer is new Navy chief?
    By Jaime Laude
    The Philippine Star 09/24/2006

A senior naval officer believed to be the brains behind the illegal wiretapping operations that gave birth to the “Hello, Garci” recordings, has reportedly succeeded in snatching the top Navy post.

Talk is circulating that Vice Admiral Tirso Danga will be appointed today as Philippine Navy chief but the military has refused to comment.

Defense Secretary Avelino Cruz and Armed Forces chief Gen. Hermogenes Esperon quelled rumors, however, that Navy chief Vice Admiral Mateo Mayuga is being replaced.

Mayuga rushed home from an official trip to the United States upon hearing the news. He was scheduled to arrive last night.

Navy spokesman Cmdr. Giovanni Bacordo declined to confirm or deny the rumor, except to say that President has the sole prerogative in appointing the Navy chief. “That ball is in the hands of the President. Malacañang has yet to make the announcement,” he told reporters.

History will judge arroyo and her legions. Surely, I will relate what transpired today sa mga magiging anak ko, apo at kaibigan, anak ng kaibigan>>>>> sa lahat-lahat!

    Buset!

  13. What this Bansot is doing, dear Mrivera, assigning these crooks to meaty positions after licking her smelly ass is literally spitting with phelgms at Filipinos, believing that they are stupid anyway to be able to do anything to remove her, not when she has secured the monies in the national coffers and other sources are safely transferred and kept in hers and the Pidals’ private accounts in the Philippines and overseas in connivance with some bank executives who have funded her candidacy, and bribe her fellow crooks with.

At least, there are the likes of Alan Cayetano, who has proven to a lot many cynics among us that there are still men of honor and principles in the Philippines, and that he would not get friendship and patronage to get in his way to uphold what is right and true. That’s the mark of a good man, and one Filipinos should patronize and support as a matter of fact. Double his number and the Philippines is no longer a hopeless case.

He was deceived by the US into believing that he was to be taken to Paoway, Ilocos; but it turned out to be Hawaii. -~npongco

They were duped into believing that they were being flown to safety but not out of the Philippines, so all these talks about Marcos asking for asylum in the USA is bullshit. ~-ystakei

Ibinandera ang FILIPINISM(Ilocanization of the AFP).

    what a history!

ty ystakei and npongco for your insights into the marcos regime.i voted for marcos the first time but was not sure the second time.this is the reverse of the old saying back every man’s success is a woman.but what about gma?is she a maniser?it seems to me the whole family are the same,i.e., corrupt to the bones, maybe to the bone marrows.

What Ver was to Marcos, Esperon is to Gloria. And this bastard must sleep on a soft pillow despite him being a HATED MAN!

Apparently, he can’t accept that TRUTH and remains to be THICK-FACED. His time, too, will come. And, I don’t think eggs will be used to hit him this time. He will be dealt with accordingly.

  17. nelbar nelbar

Putting all the blame to Esperon is short of absolving Angie Reyes’ treachery.

    How about Senga?

Fabian Ver and Hermogenes Esperon is different. One is from PMA and the other is from UP Vanguard.

How about compairing Loven Abadia to Vicente Piccio to the grinning general Benjie Defensor?

  18. Ellen,

UP students as well as Philippine universty students must step up the drumbeat.

The citizenry should join in looking for the two young university women. Nobody but nobody in the Philippines must forget this ignoble incident – the abduction of the two college girls – otherwise, it would be like giving the military full license to abduct, torture and kill.

Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, retired MajGen J Palparan, current army chief MajGen Tolentino, AFP-CIS chief Colonel Boycee Pangilinan should answer for their disappearance.

This issue must be kept alive. The citizenry in the Philippines must not take this as just another story. It is very serious. Their own freedom is at stake.

I would like to take this up with the student organizations in Europe but will need more input.

  19. Ellen,

There is a student organization in France called Etudiants sans Frontières (Students Without Borders). I’ve already raised the issue with them and they need inputs!

  20. Etudiants sans frontières is a new association; it’s being set up and I’m helping them with paper work.

They are prepared to take the abduction issue of Sheryl and Karen to the rest of the student citizenry in France.

  21. Anna,

The students have always been at the forefront of social dissent. They are the barometer of what our soicety is leading to. They see what is on the ground because they see how their parents toil and slave and how they try to go on with whatever they have. What Esperon did was to try and save face. What he did not expect that people can discern. Immorality breeds immorality, the administration reeks of this. The adults need to look at how the youth sees things. We couldn’t rely on our own sometimes clouded thoughts. We immerse ourselves with our day to day obligations while the children experiences everything.

The youth to some are just full of idealism and must see life as it is. We fail to see that teir idealism is what we, the old ones should strive for. We as parents should learn to listen as they have to contend with more things everyday.

This is what’s missing in this immoral administration. They think that the are the only ones who can think. What they fail to heed is the voice of the people which they have sworn to serve. Like the children, we have to contend with the blunders they make. We suffer the most as those in power are shielded from the wrong decisions they make, the corruption they practice, and the injustice they commit.

But in the end, its the youth that suffers the most as those we endure, we pass on to them. Instead of busying themselves with their school work, they have to face the realities of life.

  22. How right you are Schumey.

The young of today are the people and leaders of tomorrow.

I am appalled that the Philippine youth should have for examples the Gloria breed of leaders in Malacanang.

What is really scary is that based on today’s Philippine setting, there will be two diametrically opposing types of future citizens in the country: one set is bound to live by the immoral code of this bansot and the other set that’s bound to oppose them. This indicates a social, political and moral warfare that will continue to hound the Philippines.

There is no “just milieu” (a just center) without which the country will never rise from poverty; poverty in material, intellectual, sociological, political and moral terms.

For a nation to progress, you need a “just milieu” which automatically sets a reasonable standard of moral actions or codes to abide by.

Impossible to live democratically when this “just milieu” does not exist. Even religion as a bastion of reason is bound to suffer by virtue of this continuing social and moral warfare.

  23. Anyway, am off!

I’ll be whacking a few tiny white balls on the green.

I can’t promise to use them for a target as if they were Gloria’s head.

As I posted somewhere in Ellen’s blog, Gloria to my mind is a waste of people’s rations. How anybody can still support her is beyond me. But that is their own lookout – they wanna live with her? Just fine!(Ain’t I being extremely tolerant now?) But those who don’t want to live with her have all the right in the world to divorce from her and put her away in a kulungan for the crimes she’s committed against the nation.

  24. npongco npongco

There’s always clash of opinions in this blog; but in unison we all pray and demand for GMA’s ouster. Someone mentioned and asked what if Marcos returned to the Philippines. Indeed, he had been asking that he be allowed to return despite his deteriorating health. Most Filipinos would love to spend their remaining years and die in the Philippines. Furthermore, Marcos wanted and was ready to answer all the charges thrown against him. But, he was not allowed by Cory. The US could have also maintained her position not allowing Marcos to return. Certainly, there were many agreement and negotiations between Uncle Sam and Cory. Wasn’t Marcos’ situation situation to what’s going on today? Erap is still being kept in jail. The only difference is that Marcos was abroad and Erap’s still in the country. Immediately after the Edsa Two, GMA tried so hard to convince Erap to leave but he refused. GMA knew that his presence in the Philippines would harm her government and political future. And that’s what happened and is happening. While Cory used Marcos and his return to scare the people; GMA uses Erap the same way. Oh, these two women have many things in common…

  25. npongco npongco

Correction…should read: “Wasn’t Marcos’s situation similar to what’s going on today?”

By the way, we’ve been comparing the Thai coup and the Philippine Military as well as Thaksin and GMA. We fail to compare the Arab or Middle-East Muslims with our local Filipino Muslims. Why is it that these foreing Muslim rebel groups; the Al Queda or Hezbollah if you wanna call them, are so courageous to die so much so that there are suicide bombers? Why isn’t there one in the Philippines? He doesn’t have to be a Muslim….anyone who wants to terminate this GMA. It just takes one brave soul to eliminate GMA, Fat Pig Mike, Raul Gonzalez, Defensor, Ermita, Esperon, Palparan….Or are the Filipinos not brave enough and more tolerant than foreigners? Afraid to die…all talks and no action? I’m not suggesting the above for I may be traced and picked up. I’m just posing the above query to you all and the Filipino people.

Agree with you Yuko of what u said about the Apo…i wasnt at my voting age during MArcos’ time n too ignorant to the tyranny that was s’posed to be happening. But history cant lie that with all the things that they have done in order to build a ‘corporate image’ of the Phlippines to the world of what he country has. wat we have today of the so-called wow philippines era is jst a product of the digital tech boom and the marketing strategy trend, very same with what the other countries are doing. Ever since Macoy’s time, with the construction of Cultural center, Folk Arts, PICC, or the likes of the putting up of Central Bank and other massive construction that will somehow pave the way for the preservation and staging of cultural identity…i bet u that the likes of old buildings for historical preservation will be supported and even be given much importance…Please give me a break when these people say that there is so much in the Philippines more than the usual smiles ek-ek…i will agree that we have a very rich cultural heritage but not properly and concretely presented..there is lack in visual presentation and maintenance when it comes to having museums or cultural presentations. i have been touring foreign friends and sad to say, i really run out of places to go for them here around metromanila…even public facilties!!!! the only saving grace for clean and atleast pleasant-smelling toilets are bec of the petrol stations…go to Tagaytay, the ridge should be immaculately well-taken cared of by the LGU, but NO!!! bahala na..why? bec of the mentality na there are few people going..helooooo!!!! kaya walang taong pumupunta kasi pangit and marumi..every corner u have to pay…why not a one time pay and u can use all the facilities, even the horse-back riding…they jsthave to make a proper system flow of management and logistics…and this should all hold true evenin Luneta..nakakahiya ang lugar na ito sa dumi.

sori for my ranting but Esperon and all these characters are jst BS and we should nt even be wasting our time to them..we concertrate on killing the big picture in general anyway it will surely have a domino effect on whoever is in the corral of the legion of doom. We can all see obviously those na mga nagbabalaki ng tiyan like atienza, et al are only after the income-generating sector of their constituency…in Manila its the BayWalk where of course frm the lamp post to “free-shuttle” that goes the stretch of the boulevard have ‘hidden agenda’ issues…of course i cannot say ALL but a majority where it seems innocent to be looked into. i will be ranting for no end here if i will start with the city of Manila with every district’s garbage pointed out…so that u guys who have been away frm here for almst 10 yrs..your not missing anything..
Go Yuko…we should have the courgae here to do the same that every1 had been doing as seen in the arkibo website.

yes npongco, we might need some heroes but time will tell in what form of heroism will need to be effective or in whose name will it be initiated. i dont think we will ever have pinoys who could be brainwashed as those who are willing to be suicide bombers jst to eliminate the legion of doom…

maybe even a rosary made of rose petals frm the Holy Places will not be sufficient for Esperon to have his peace of mind and conscience be void of the guilt that they have..this goes well for the whole kingdom of the bitch-witch and her family who are not even deserving of any praise.

  29. Signs of the times. The world is getting filled with unrighteous leaders. I am actually looking forward to seeing Bush, Blair, Arroyo and even our own Koizumi own to their legal responsibility to mankind for their deceptive cry about battling terrorism when in fact it is Bush who is the terrorist. And the nerve of these people to say now that Bin Laden has been dead since 2001!

Having seen in full the interview of Bin Laden done in 1998 that I had the opportunity to translate into Japanese for a Japanese TV, I knew for a fact that Bush was lying about him.

In short, mahirap talaga ang mangmang. Madaling maloko!

No doubt, Assperon is the Himmler of The Glue, so boastful and arrogant. He once said to jail all coup plotters, and it’s not surprising that he earned the title of poster boy for no coups in the Philippines courtesy of DND’s Cruz. Maybe he is hallucinating that his Glue will be forever in power, courtesy of the Cha-Cha, that’s why his grin is from ear to ear. They are anticipating that the initiative will go on smoothly despite some snags being encountered at the moment. They don’t even have to worry about the people’s negative reaction, because, they already succeeded in quelling and discouraging them into joining mass actions. But that will not be the end of the story. After all, nobody holds the certainties of the future. Nobody knows the mood of the people. Nobody knows really. The only thing that we are certain of is everything has to end, and that the reign of the evil queen supported by assperon is no exception. And when that most welcome event happen, assperon should be prepared to take some actions to preserve himself, just like bolate, he has two options: to exile himself outside the country, anyway he can afford it with his millions or maybe billions courtesy of his evil queen; or do ala-Himmler, negotiate with the next power only to be ridiculed and revoked and with no other choice left-put a period on his own life.

  31. OT lang po:
Danga, a known deVenecia boy has been appointed to replace mayuga. There is “restiveness” among the PN insiders for such action. It is known that Danga, former ISAIF cheap, has the garci tapes.

    Payback time?

  32. Which translates that gloria is beholden to many in the military for her position.

Beholden to the top-brass of the military, kaya
    kailangang “MAY BAYAD” or else……

Makes me think arroyo is weaker than what she wants the public to believe. In other words, she is a P-U-P-P-E-T !!!!Don’t ya think?

Inquirer Online’s newsbreak headline says: Ermita disputes Defensor on senatorial slate, but who cares? I won’t fall for this new gimmick of the Malacanang squatters, but I guess they are just trying to deviate everyone’s attention to the issue—the survival of the Philippine Senate.

A friend in fact has emailed me from Canada that that the other fatso of the Philippine Congress is in Canada selling the ChaCha, even mentioning some dates when his Tongress will declare a change of government from the present bicam to a unicam parliamentarian government.

  35. Yuko,

Do you know if the cha-cha fella (JdV?) got a rousing welcome from Fil Canadians?

  36. Chabeli Chabeli

    Florry, I like that, “Assperon”!
    —————–
Just heard over the news that ASSPERON has forgiven the students in U.P. who threw eggs at him. However, he said that these students should be taught proper decorum.

I thought that was KAPAL of him to even say that! I think it is ASSPERON who LACKS the breeding and proper decorum because RESPECT IS EARNED! And, like Gloria, he most certainly DOES DESERVE THE PEOPLE’S RESPECT!

  37. Decorum?

    Did Assperson (Esperon) say that?

Wow! He, who grew up thinking that to be modern is to have an electric rice cooker, thikns the UP kids should have decorum?

Those kids knew how to spot a rat and when they saw Assperson (Esperon), they knew he was they typical rat’s ass (Gloria’s ass)!

Had the same thing happened here with the French students, mata lang niya ang walang latay!

  38. Chabeli Chabeli

Anna de Brux, imagine, this ASSPERON even saying that the students who threw eggs at him are “bad eggs”! Anton Dulce, the U.P. student who hit the bull’s eye (he hit ASSPERON) said he does not regret it! Good for him!

Although the 3rd Star of ASSPERON has not yet been passed in the Senate, Gloria has sworn in ASSPERON as a 4-Star General. Together with Gloria, ASSPERON is living an illussion! Techincally, the guy is a mere 2-Star General lang! What a jerk!

  39. Chabeli Chabeli

Ooops…my previous comments should have read:

And, like Gloria, he most certainly DOES NOT DESERVE THE PEOPLE’S RESPECT!

  40. Phil Cruz Phil Cruz

If this Esperon who was not even AFP Chief in the last elections was one of the poster boys for military election manipulation, how much more in next year’s elections now that he is AFP Chief?

Scary thought. Unless the righteous officers and the soldiers refuse to follow his instructions.

  41. Chabeli Chabeli

If I may add, Phil Cruz, and shoot Assperon on the head to get rid of this BAD EGG!

  42. Mrivera Mrivera

two people who fool themselves. gloria being a president (daw) but does not know she’s making a comic out of herself appointing esperon to a four star position while his confirmation to three star general was by-passed several times by the CA and esperon making himself a laughing stock by wearing the four star shoulder board believing he deserves the promotion. mga utak komikong bulok!!!!

  43. nelbar nelbar

  44. Mrivera Mrivera

meron sa senado, sleeping and tumbling eggs.

  45. “meron sa senado, sleeping and tumbling eggs.”

What do you mean Mrivera, may mga feet na iyong eggs?

    Heh!

  46. Anna:

The way I see it is JdV got a cold shoulder from the anti-Bansot group, but there were also lots of Filipinos who welcome him and they were the ready group being encouraged by the Philippine Embassy there to give the impression that Filipinos support the Bansot, and that those they do not invite are mere sourgrapes.

I actually cannot understand such kind of strategy because I doubt if the Japanese government would even do such kind of thing and dare to actually divide Japanese loyalty without getting censured especially by the freer Japanese press.

It’s very different from how the Japanese Embassy or Consulate for example in other places treat Japanese nationals whose loyalty they would like to keep especially where they have to make good impression, and other peoples would not have the wrong ideas even for national interest.

When I attend reception for instance for Japanese nationals overseas, I actually do not go for the sake of impressing whoever is there to greet us, nor think that I am doing it for our Prime Minister, because I have the mind to think that I am his boss doing things for my sake, not the other way around. This, Anna, is something that Filipinos have yet to learn to understand, that they are not voting these officials to be their masters but their servants!!! When they have understood this simple democratic principle, then, they will know whom righteously and rightfully to choose!!!

  47. Mrivera Mrivera
