Bolante planning a Jakarta trip?

Lawyer Harry Roque said they have received reliable information that former Agriculture Undersecretary Jocelyn “Jocjoc” Bolante has made arrangements to go to Jakarta, Indonesia next month to meet a Pakistani Rotarian/businessman.

Bolante was the treasurer
of Rotary International. He was arrested last July 7 at the Los Angeles airport for attempting to the enter the United States on an expired visa.

“This means, he will go on self-deportation this December,” Roque said.

This is also an indication that Bolante expects his request for asylum in the United States to be rejected.

Last September,Bolante’s lawyer Y. Judd Azulay warned Roque’s correspondent lawyer in the US, Mary Carmen Madrid-Crost that if his client’s tourist/bsuiness (B1B2)visa is not restored, and is deported, “He will disappear forever.”

Roque said Bolante’s family lives in the Gold Coast, a most expensive address in Chicago. “The Philippine Consulate there should take steps to freeze that property as ill-gotten wealth,” Roque said.

Bolante is wanted by the Philippine Senate in connection with its investigation on the alleged diversion of P728 million fertilizer fund for the campaign of Gloria Arroyo in the 2004 May election.

  1. If this is so, Ellen, we can say that the Malacanang lackeys have spread lies once again!

Remember how at the beginning, when you posted this news in your blog, Malacanang, through its Internet Brigade, tried their dumbest to dampen our hopes by insinuating that the US government is in cahoot with the present bogus administration even giving a secret deal re the rape case involving the four horny US soldiers now in US Embassy custody?

Now, we know there is no such deal as denied by the US Embassy in Manila, and that his visa was revoked because of a request from the Senate that is in fact a normal procedure between countries with close diplomatic ties. Paimportante pa si Bolate, who was probably given the impression that his bosses were that malakas with Bush!!! Style pinoy talaga!

Now, at least, we know that despite Bush, the US still abides by the rule of law!!!

Thank God for Atty. Roque and his associates, who have made this possible and justice and truth to prevail! And thank God also for you, Ellen! You’ve given hopes to many Filipinos who pray that their agonies and miseries will soon be over!

And thank God also for those Americans who have made this possible. Bolate can go to Timbuktu kung talagang ayaw niyang umuwi at magpahuli kay Magsaysay. Let him wander like Cain who was cursed with a dark skin after killing his brother, Abel, and never find peace! 😛

Why? Is Bolante sure that the US court will let him go next month after his request for asylum would have been rejected?

Once the plane is on the ground, this scumbag will be transferred to a waiting plane/hele to Jakarta. And from there, he will supervise another fund scam to finance Glue’s artistas senatorial candidates.

Chi, Bolate has not committed any other crime in the US unless the US government is requested to check on his assets in the US. Dapat niyan magkaroon ng request again from the Senators for such investigation as the suggestion of Atty. Roque, who can actually file a petition in the name of the Filipino people to the US court to order an investigation on the properties of Bolate in LA and Chicago.

Ingat lang kasi baka may nilulutong makaw na naman ang mga lintik the way they planned out the removal of Estrada in 2000. In-admit iyan noong Fatso who bragged that he was part of the Oplan to remove Erap even as early as Jan. 2000. Who knows?

  5. Funny, but Jakarta? Why? And why a Pakistani as the contact in Jakarta?

Is this Bolate planning to join the Islamic Fundamentalist Movement led by Pakistanis, who have contacts with the Talibans and the Al Qaeda? Akala niya siguro matatakot niya si Atty. Roque or Senator Magsaysay if he says that he now plans to join the dreaded group of Bin Laden after being rejected by the Americans in an apparent attempt again to convince them to keep him in the US or he will turn against America and be one of the Al Qaeda terrorists.

Si Pearl na journalist and one of the first casualty of the war on Afghanistan!

Bolante can PLAN all he wants to go to any place in the world, but the question is will the U.S. release him?

Correct me if I am wrong in my assessment, but I think that as far as the U.S. is concerned, Bolante entered the country ILLEGALLY. Any ILLEGAL act committed makes one a criminal. BOLANTE is a CRIMINAL as far as the U.S. is concerned. Why will they release him?

  7. chi chi

    Yuko,

Jakarta, Pakistani contact?

They might be hoping that the US will hold him in the US as a terror suspect? Another float kaya?

  8. Toney Cuevas Toney Cuevas

Here we go again! I don’t see the problem, why don’t we start collecting pesos to end his escapade and his misery? It’s improper and immoral, but this is a war of survival. In a war things happened beyond human control, it just happened. Bolate did it to the people, and so why not? What he did doesn’t deserve any kind of mercy or forgiven. When Bolate escaped the Philippines and took with him portion of the Philippines treasury, it never once occurs to him, absolutely not, that those money belong to the people and the people in dire need of them badly. Instead. like a thief that he’s and Josie’s bosses, they just took and took like it’s coming from their own personal bank accounts. Bolate is a thief and liar just like the persons he’s supposedly trying to protect. Bolate stole from the people like the many others and it seems they all getting away wtih murder with the people’s money. Somehow this arrogance behavior and practiced must put to stop once and for all. This can’t go on and shouldn’t.

Furthermore, the money that Josie stole from the people of the Philippines is gone forever, will never be recovered. And so the money the thief Carlos Garcia. It never ending occurence that’s getting worse, those people in high places of the govt are getting filthy rich with the peoples money. And course illegtimate Gloria is turning a blind eyes since she is the worst of them all. Numero uno magnanakaw!

  9. The cancellation of the visa of the Bolate in fact could merit immediate deportation, commonly known as A to A (Airport to Airport). In principle, he did not enter the US, so the US Immigration has the discretion in fact to simply deport him, no need to go through some trial, imprisonment or being fined.

However, he is now in jail because he thought he could get away with it if he would use an expensive US law firm to get political asylum there, even requesting transfer to a detention house in Chicago near his home there.

Fortunately, Atty. Roque was able to stop that attempt, and without any proof of other crime done despite efforts of his lawyers to try all possible options, the US government has no other recourse but to deport him as prescribed by the new US Immigration Law.

The US, likewise, is not dutybound to choose where to deport Bolate but to his home country. Their main concern is to send him out of US territory as an undesirable alien with no chance to ever be able to enter the US again.

Normally, the procedure is to put him on a direct flight to Manila. Now, if he says that he can go to Jakarta despite the litigation awaiting him in Manila, then we know for sure that this is in connivance with his bosses who would not like him to face Magsaysay and be forced to spill the beans. For sure, he will do a disappearing act with the help of the sipsips in the PNP and AFP, and even perhaps the NBI!!!

You bet, there will be some breaking of the law here, but how do you prosecute the same institutions that are covering up for him when they are supposed to be the ones to arrest and prosecute him.

In fact, the PNP, AFP and NBI should have been questioned on how Garci was able to evade prosecution. Reports say Ebaden helped him escape. So why is this Ebdane not being arrested and prosecuted? Even Ebdane is subject to the law he breaks.

The US in fact must have patterned its new Immigration rule of categorizing a violation of US Immigration Law as a criminal act after that of Japan where overstaying, working with out permits, etc. by foreigners/non-Japanese nationals is a crime, and those who break the law are tagged as criminals.

At least, now we know that in the US at least “Crime does not pay!” The criminal pays.

  10. Toney Cuevas Toney Cuevas

The only reason Josie Bolate can do all these traveling, jumping from country to country is only because of the money that he stole from the people. In a way, the people of the Philippines got screwed once again, and thanks to bogus Gloria the worst leader the Philippines ever had. Of couurse, the people of the Philippines is paying for Bolate’s extravagant lifestyle for him to be able to live in such luxury. What fake imcopetent corrupt Gloria is doing about this, zip. Here’s an obvious crime committed against the people of the Philippines, with almost one billion pesos were missing, and fake Gloria is treating it as if it’s normal thief behavior. I guess, since bogus Gloria has gotten so use of stealing people’s money she could no longer distinguish the difference.

And crimes does certainly pays in the Philippines! Only because the people of the Philippines let it.

  11. artsee artsee

  12. Still in bed. I said I would not blog on Sundays, but can’t help this one before I forget.

I have a hunch that this Pakistani meeting is an attempt again by Bolate to convince the Americans to keep him in jail in the USA. He wants them to think that he is turning terrorist by talking to some Pakistani with contact perhaps with the Talibans and Bin Laden’s Al Qaeda, for the truth is the Islam Fundamentalist Movement has its roots in Pakistan!

Hopefully, the US court will not fall for this ploy. Nice try, Bolate. Mabulok ka sa impiyerno! Buti nga magpalaboy-laboy ang ungas. Hindi naman makakabalik iyan sa Tate kahit palitan niya ang passport niya dahil sa fingerprint niya unless na burahin niya ang fingerprint niya sa mga daliri niya even by cutting off his fingers pero mabibisto pa rin siya.

Common, Bolate, give up ka na. Wala ka nang choice but to sing the song we would like to hear! Baka maawa pa kami sa iyo! May your lesson be learned.

Susunod diyan si Norberto Gonzales para sumigaw tungkol din sa exorbitant propaganda for the Bansot even now. Isang dapat alamin ang propaganda gimmick dito sa Japan with expensive trips on government junket for people like Lagman, JdV, et al. Maski nga itong trip ni Soliven, we kind of suspect that it was part of this lobby group. Otherwise, why would Siason be attending to him.

Japanese ambassadors for example do not do that to visiting journalists in their posts. More often than not, the assistance to nationals is performed by a lesser ranking staff. But then, of course, the Japanese are different as they try to always go by the rules. Besides, no Japanese politician for example go to the Japanese embassy to ask the ambassador to provide him money for his gallivanting spree the way I am told a lot many Philippine Congressmen do overseas.

This is not “hakahaka” for I did witness one Congressman during the time of Ramos doing that to Yuchengco. I just did not see how much was given him. The Congressman did not tell me, of course, but his assistant did divulge such information, and it kind of shocked me because it was/is considered bad ethics in Japanese.

In 2003, I took active part in encouraging Filipinos in Japan to vote, but after the cheating that I witnessed, and realizing that Filipinos, even those in foreign countries who should have had better exposure, still had a lot to learn but would never learn unless they, too, would have the desire to change and insist on their rights even to change the political scenery in their country, I thought what the heck! I’d help in some other way, even by teaching the Filipinos to behave in Japan, and learn to be disciplined, and yes, by blogging where the action is!

  13. This should read: “The Congressman did not tell me, of course, but his assistant did divulge such information, and it kind of shocked me because it was/is considered bad ethics in JAPAN BY THE Japanese.”

Kawawang Pilipinas!

As far as the U.S. is concerned Bolante is an Illegal Alien, trying to seek Political asylum.

  15. Vic,

I have a suspicion in fact that the reason for the lowering of the US dollar to the peso is because these looters are looting dry the treasury and turning them into foreign currencies. Hindi nila kasi pera. Whereas, the OFWs get little for their remittances because of the low exchange rates of their foreign currencies. O di sino ang naisahan?

Over here, the dollar is being peddled at higher rate so exporters here can get more for their products. My husband’s company for instance has higher earnings now for their products sold to Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, India, Thailand China, SoKor and Taiwan.

He has received an order in fact from a Japanese company that has recently opened a factory in Tanauan, Batangas. I told him to deal only with the Japanese partner to play safe. Otherwise, I handle the business for the Philippines to play safe. Ang dami kasing mangloloko!

  16. TonGuE-tWisTeD TonGuE-tWisTeD

Yuko, if you’re referring to the Torres-owned company, I can assure you that they are very honorable businessmen that they’ve capture the trust of many Japanese clients, even if the Japs are very hard to please. They were instrumental in bringing Japanese companies’ factories to Batangas.

One of the Torres siblings, socialite and columnist Sonia Torres-Aquino, is now the Mayor of Tanauan. Right, Ellen?

  17. Thanks, TongueT, for the information. I’m not sure if it is the Torres-owned company. He is in Bangkok now attending an exhibition there, and my husband’s company has been one of the leading Japanese companies chosen by JETRO to be displayed there.

My husband’s company, actually one that he inherited from his father, is a supplier of the Nihon Sanso Company and the old IHI. The relationship dates back to pre-WWII with the main companies actually responsible for the prosperity that Shinagawa Borough in Tokyo now enjoys. Sony, for example, has its headquarters in this burough.

  18. Ellen,

My take: Bolante is going to Jakarta because the Indonesian president is a classmate and good friend of former CSAFP General Efren Abu, who by the way, recently introduced his own classmate-soon-to be RP envoy (can’t remember the name of the Gloria RP envoy designate) to the Indonesian president.

Perhaps, Fatso and Gloria told Bolante to go to Jakarta where he will be protected by the Indonesian president through the kind intervention of General Efren Abu.

    Lusot na ngayon si Bolante!

  19. There will be loads of money involved if indeed Bolante chooses to “HIDE” in Indonesia under the protection of Abu’s friend.

A Philippine corporation is tied to one of the largest Indonesian telecom-defence companies and I reckon, Fatso can easily use this conduit to pour in “investment” money so Bolante could stay in Indonesia from where he could make “lagalag” to every other friendly nation in the region including Pakistan.

  20. Anna, the ambassador to Indonesia is former National Capital Region Police Chief Vidal Querol. Something must have happened to the plan to send former AFP chief of Staff Efren Abu there.

I’m wondering what Indonesia thinks, from former AFP chief to former NCR police chief.

  21. Mrivera Mrivera

  22. Ellen,

What can the Indonesian president say? Nothing really. The Indo president has to accept Quirol graciously lest there be any misunderstanding (diplomatically that is).

Also, the fact that Abu went out of his way to personally introduce Quirol to his indonesian classmate, he, the president, couldn’t refuse a military comrade’s personal intervention to ACCEPT a former policeman.

Abu refused the envoy position allegedly because he “didn’t want RP embassy to be the target of Jihad terrorists,” a PMA classmate of his told me but accepted to act as “ambassador at large” for RP, whatever that means.

My own thought is that Abu didn’t want the trouble of serving Gloria in an official capacity because once in official capacity, he’s bound to serve her interests hook, line and sinker.

  23. Ellen,

Btw, don’t be surprised if General Efren Abu (Retd), former CSAFP is shortlisted to replace Avelino Cruz along with Ebdane.

  24. Anna,

My husband is in Indonesia at the moment. The other day, he called me up and told me that he was robbed of 3,000 dollars, and gone is his wallet with all his bank cards, etc. Ganoon katindi din ang nakawan doon.

Still, I don’t think the Indonesian friend of Abu would go all the way to accommodate Bolate unless he is as corrupt as these crooks to make some deal in exchange for a big lump sum knowing how the Bolate has hoarded lots of public funds during his tenure of office.

Someone should inform some concerned NGOs there to protest against this planned stint of the fugitive Bolate there. That way this bogus government may be embarrassed in the international community even when we know that the people who run it are kapalmuks.

BTW, anyone on the run from the law can be considered a fugitive. The Senate of the Philippines apparently has some police right to put a suspect on the stand and there prove his culpability for the prosecutor to act in accordance with the law. Since Bolate has the intention to stay away to prevent appearing in the Senate and thus proved guilty of the charges against him, he is no doubt a fugitive for anyone who hides from the law is one.

On the other hand, Indonesia is considered as another sick man of Asia like the Philippines.

  25. Mrivera Mrivera

ystakei, anna, have you forgotten the previous expose tungkol sa raket sa indonesia wherein foreigners/tourists were offered marriage with young girls for only a small amount? na kapag “kumagat ang would-be-victim” tatakbuhan na ng babae pagkatapos “ikasal” tangay ang dowry?

Ako nasa pangatlong pila at walang kasama.

Tinanong ko na ‘How do you find staying here in Manila?’

At tinanong na lang niya ako na, how did you know?
