TV Patrol carried an interview with Lorna Kapunan, counsel of Alicia Arroyo, asking for police protection for her client in a child custody case with Iggy Arroyo.
It will be recalled that Iggy Arroyo owned up the “Jose Pidal” accounts which was suspected to be really belong to Mike Arroyo.
Alicia, a stockbroker, was quoted by Kapunan as having said that her husband changed when the Jose Pidal case broke out.
Kapunan said Iggy and Alicia had been separated. Iggy Arroyo is rumored to be living with Grace Ibuna, former wife of actor Gabby Concepcion.
Last year, there were talks that Iggy was furious at Alicia for having cleaned out their joint dollar accounts that ran to millions.
Kapunan reported that some strange people have been following her client. She said, “my client knows a lot” about the Arroyos.
Kapunan further said if anything happens to her client, they’ll put the blame squarely on Mike Arroyo.

Legal separation is not divorce, Sleepless. Remarriage is only allowed when the court declares one of the partners as legally dead even when he is not physically dead. It is only possible in the Philippines because of the poor registration system that when one decides to hide somewhere, nobody will be able to find him. Not so in the Land of the Rising Sun. Over here, when you do not register properly where you transfer, you are fined and punished, so there is no way of not finding a person. If he gets missing, he/she could have been kidnapped by North Koreans! 😛
Now, they have invented this fraudulent annulment to annul marriages, and reason for a lot more broken homes now than say during my parents’ generation.

Tama po, legal separation is not divorce pero yong nakakuha ng court decision for legal separation can remarry not in the church dahil bawal yon sa simbahan but thru civil wedding. No more legal impediment. The case in point is Sharon-Gabby-Mr. Noted.
There are several divorce bills filed in Congress pero hindi umuusad dahil sa pahigpit na pagkontra ng simbahang Katoliko.

Ellen, I was also watching the news where it was shown pictures of vehicles either tailing Alicia or watching her house. Lorna Kapunan said that if anything happened to her client, it would be Mike Arroyo who should be held responsible.
Kapunan also mentioned “Iggy had vices”. I remember during the Pidal investigations, talks in the Ayala coffee shops have it that Iggy was an addict and even planted marijuana in his farm. I guess it’s Alicia herself feeding the gossip mills in the financial community cuz there are details only an ex-wife can provide. I won’t be surprised if we later found out Alicia was the one who gave Lacson the account numbers and the deposit slips because Udong Mahusay said the bank papers did not come from him.
Or maybe even this new revelations on Celia Suarez, too! My intuitive (or malisyoso?) mind tells me Alicia is being cased by the Pig’s detectives as the suspect who leaked this Suarez affair. Why do I say so? If it were merely a case of child custody, why would Alicia, through her lawyer, declare Fatso as the one who would want her harm, at the same time, threaten to “tell all”, right?
Are there other details she might have on the Pidals like, say, bank account numbers, properties, etc. that could be very damaging to the brothers, enough for them to want to “silence” her forever? Or is this just, like in the other thread, another blackmail?
